- Abilities: Saber has a number of abilities which are;
Class Skills - this includes the Saber class skills of 'Magic Resistance' and 'Riding'. El Cid has not faced many, if any, magic users in his past so he has rather low magic resistance. Saber is known for having a mount and is therefore skilled in riding it but not many other vehicles.
Independence - Saber in their past life had been exiled by their ruler, gaining independence from them as they did whatever they pleased from that time on. Even when called back Saber would do what he believed was favorable for him, rather than any master eventually gaining land and dominion for himself.
Swordsmanship - Saber is an incredibly skilled and feared swordsman.
Strategist - El Cid was known to be an intelligent and knowledgeable tactician who rarely lost a battle.
Commander - Saber was a capable leader who united two factions known to fight among themselves, Christians and Muslims, to fight under his banner.
Psychological Warfare - An ability El Cid used against his enemies to give him the upper hand in any battle, using fer and other tactics to get in the mind of his enemies.
Aristocrat - Being born noble El Cid is well learned and capable in most social situations and has notable charisma and wit.
- Strengths: Saber's strengths are as follows;
Swordsmanship - Saber is a capable fighter, relying more on skill and abilities rather than brute force.
Athletics - Because of their past Saber is physically gifted with strength, agility, dexterity, stamina, and speed.
Intelligence - Saber has been shown to be an intelligent fighter, using any form of tactics to give them the upper hand.
Tenacity - Saber is incredibly determined and will fight til the bitter end as long as he believes he can win. - Weaknesses: Saber's weaknesses are as follows;
Magic - Although Saber has the class skill 'Magic Resistance' he is not used to fighting magical beings and therefore doesn't know how to really deal with them.
Long Range Combat - Saber is a close quarters combatant and lacks any long range attacks, aside from one of his noble phantasms, to deal with a long range assault.
Arrogance - Because of his intelligence and great abilities Saber doesn't believe he will lose to most people and will become frustrated if the battle goes on longer than he believed it would. This makes him act more irrational and impulsive the longer the fight goes on.
Reliance on Noble Phantasms - In order to deal with combatants that he otherwise can not beat with his natural skills and abilities Saber will have to resort to using his Noble Phantasms, something which he doesn't want to do but can not help when fighting against a skilled long ranged fighter.
Drawn out fights - Connected to his origin and the reason Saber died was because of a drawn out siege on his city Valencia. Believed to have been defeated by attrition, lack of food and supplies, El Cid died not on the battlefield but in his own home. Killed by his own inability to get out of the situation Saber's greatest weakness is that the longer a fight goes on the more physically draining it becomes for him and if he is in combat for a very long time will eventually become so fatigued that he will collapse and faint on the spot, becoming vulnerable to a killing blow.
- Saber is a highly skilled and intelligent fighter and believes that there is no one truly his equal. Really prideful and confident but has the natural gifts, skills, and abilities to back up most of his claims. Strong willed with a tenacious spirit makes Saber have high mental and emotional fortitude. Devilishly charming when he wants to be and is a great social manipulator. Single minded and focused on what he wants he gives very little care for those who he believes are beneath him but incredibly loyal to those who have gained his trust and are strong in his eyes. Despite his arrogant and prideful nature Saber cares a lot for those who he considers friends or those he is responsible for and will do anything for those close to him. A real bastard sometimes but one you want in your corner.

Practicing sword fighting - Although confident in his skills Saber is continually adding more techniques to perfect his skills
Baseball - Because Saber can't just hold a sword wherever he goes he has taken up baseball as a hobby to have some form of weapon on him.
Reading - Knowledge is power and if anything can be learned to make him a better fighter, tactician, or leader he will obtain it.
Music - Saber enjoys listening to good music and has since being summoned began to wear headphones to listen to whatever he believes is good music.

Unbreakable - weapon can not be destroyed.
Damascus Steel - weapon can cut through most materials.
Bend the Knee - weapon induces fear to those around Saber when activated, causing physically and/or mentally weak people to cower in fear. 'Bend the Knee' fear grows stronger as long as the power is not deactivated, causing even strong opponents to fear Sabre, lowering their ability to fight El Cid. - Colada, Anti-Unit, Weapon: Legendary sword wielded by El Cid, has three powers/attributes which are;
Unbreakable - weapon can not be destroyed.
Damascus Steel - weapon can cut through most materials.
Prince of Valencia - weapon summons El Cid's long departed soldiers to protect Saber from attacks. Power can be activated but it takes long for the power to be used again, at the most Saber can use it three times in a prolonged battle. If Saber can use 'Prince of Valencia' but can not sense the attack Colada will activate the power by itself as long as Saber is wielding it. - Babeica Anti-Unit, Mount: Legendary mount of El Cid, was the heroic spirit's warhorse when he was alive. When activated Saber will summon Babeica to him to ride. Because of the modern setting Babeica takes the form of a chopper motorcycle, capable of going 100 mph. The mount is always summoned unless damaged significantly, in which case it will need to be summoned again, and will travel to Saber when called. Mount is incredibly durable but is capable of being destroyed.
- Born Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar in 1043 he would become one of the greatest folk heroes of his nation, gaining the title El Cid or Lord and claiming a lordship of his own in 1094 which he ruled over Valencia til he died in 1099. Both historical figure and legend El Cid's stories would be remembered throughout the ages until he would be summoned into a game he had little knowledge about. But what made El Cid capable of being a Heroic Spirit?
Born a noble Rodrigo was destined for great things, as he joined the military and rose through the ranks to become a commander and standard bearer. Leading various military campaigns Rodrigo became renowned for his skills and military prowess. Although he served faithfully under his sovereign eventually his leader died and without an heir the leader's brother, one whom Rodrigo had forced out of power earlier, became the new ruler. Because of his actions earlier the new sovereign exiled Rodrigo.
But this wasn't the end of his story, despite losing favor from his own leader El Cid found work under another nation and ruler, becoming a great military leader for them. Growing in might and intelligence El Cid became renowned as a great tactician and strategist, defeating every army with his own, both Christian and Muslim armies. His former lord had suffered losses at the time which resulted in him absolving El Cid's exile. After some rather heavy promises and being convinced El Cid returned to his former lord and served him as a military leader.
Despite this however El Cid wanted more and set his sights for the kingdom-city of Valencia, acting independently from his ruler, supporting his ruler's enemies to continue the war between them as he used them for his own gains. With the support of the two opposing forces that he joined under his banner El Cid attacked and gained control of Valencia, establishing it as an independent principality, which both Christians and Muslims could live together in peace.
However others wanted to gain his lands of Valencia and El Cid spent the remainder of his days fighting off invaders attempting to claim his lands for themselves. Although never bested by his opponents on the battlefield because of the continual battles Valencia had been cut off from supplies that it needed which presumably was the reason for El Cid's death. After his death his son would die also and his wife would be forced to surrender their lands to their invaders.
