Personality:
Evie is interesting, most think that she is cute and cuddly and always up to something adorable, but really behind that sweet smile and big blue eyes, she's always planning in case something goes wrong, in case she needs to get away. Unfortunately, Evie was trained at Itex to be very calculating and even though she has moved away from the facility, she has kept the traits they instilled in her. She is scared of sudden contact with people, if you reach out for her and she doesn't expect it she will jump or flinch. Evie is probably one of the smartest seven year old's you will ever meet; she can do advanced algebra and can read on a college level. She doesn't like to do either of those things though, Evie would rather that you read her a story or help her with simple calculations, she likes to pretend that she's an innocent little girl.
Evie is scared of a lot of things, she is scared of being alone, of the dark, of being grabbed, that she'll lose the people she considers her family, and of being taken by Itex again. Her worst fear is waking up and discovering that everything was a dream, hence the quote, "Sometimes I think I'm living in a dream." Being on the run is better than being a human experiment; she might not have any rights, but that doesn't mean she likes what they're doing. Evie has many talents, she considers most of them useless but likes the fact that she can sew and make her own clothes and she is a pretty good singer for a six year old.
Her favorite activities include things any normal six year old might do, coloring, talking to stuffed animals, ignoring the bad grammar or math the others sometimes might have. She also enjoys eating chocolate, it is Evie's favorite food and one of the things she is never willing to share or give up. Asking Evie to share her chocolate is like asking her to donate a kidney. Evie tries to be a good girl, she really does, but sometimes her emotions get the better of her and she will throw a tantrum or burst out crying, she might be a highly intellectual individual, but she's still six years old.
Special Skills:
Evie is exceptional at making deductions and observations.
She is also skilled in karate.
Weaknesses:
The fact that she has to soak in salt water every few hours
Chocolate
History:
Evie was born a weapon, they created her because they wanted a specialized child that could be sent on missions and bring back information while seeming inconspicuous because she was a child. So they gave her abilities that would make her job easier and before Evie could talk, they began to train her. Math, science, history, architecture, language courses, there were days where they would speak to her in certain languages and she wasn't allowed to reply in English. Despite all the lessons, they still had time to test on her. By the time Evie turned three she could speak eight languages and had done every test under the sun from MRI's to being locked in a box all night. She never fully learned to control her powers and sometimes when she got nervous, her hair color would change or she would grow an inch. Whenever that happened, they would hit Evie until she regained control and returned to her normal form. Needless to say, she is scared to use her ability now.
Evie didn't learn about this "second skin" until they decided to see what affect drowning would have on her. There was a salt water pool in the facility they kept for training and she was thrown into the deep end. At first Evie struggled, trying to stay afloat but it was useless and she began to sink to the bottom, when she reached the pool floor Evie realized that her lungs weren't burning and that she could breath just fine. Apparently, she had developed this second layer of skin on her own in an act of desperation to stay alive.
There was a lot more torture after that, needles and skin samples, swim tests, and other things she refuses to talk about. They tried to see how else her body could adapt to survive, but apparently that was it. Evie didn't think it was all bad though, not until her skin started cracking and she felt like she couldn't breath on dry land. It turns out that if she didn't return to the water, she would stop breathing.
