Physical Description: Viv is a Cacturne wearing a Mismagius’ hat and cloak as a sort of dress. She glows slightly with a sickly green aura and, as do most Cacturnes, has a constant grin on her face no matter what she’s feeling.

Personality: Viv is a giggling lunatic prone to wild mood swings. She calls everyone “dearie”, walks and talks as if she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her, and has a nasty habit of talking down to people as if they were adorable grandchildren. This behavior is incredibly creepy, but she seems to get a laugh out of creeping people out.

History: Viv was the Pokémon of a drug lord, who kept inventing out new drugs and testing them out on her. When the police came to bust him, he desperately tried to get rid of the evidence by injecting all his drugs into Viv as quickly as possible. The poor reactions gave her much greater sentience and her master’s skills, but greatly affected her perception of reality. Now she works at trying to recreate the formula that gave her a new lease on life, working for Fatum and doing odd jobs to get by. She is the brains of his operation while the oracle is away, often commanding Bella and Colonel to do her jobs for her and threatening them with painful injections if they don’t comply.

Equipment: Viv carries beakers and potions full of various serums, but most of what she uses to mix is at home.

Abilities: Viv’s blood is full of various toxins and drugs, making her pretty much immune to poison of any kind. She can shoot needles from her body and inject others with her toxins, but prefers more personal, precise, controlled doses to anything else.

Other: Though nominally Viv works for Fatum, she’s perfectly willing to brew up a potion or a drug for anyone else… though whether they’d want to is another matter entirely. She will do anything for a good price, but first and foremost Viv looks out for herself.

Viv, leading a squadron of Ghost, Dark, Grass and Poison-type Pokémon, was searching through the Skyscraper Range for a certain book. She remembered well her instructions from the previous day...

"Viv," said Fatum. "Take your squadron and search the Skyscraper Range."

"Why?" asked Viv.

"Because Madeline's search in the Deumanus Mountains failed..." began Fatum.

"It wouldn't have if you sent backup!" shouted Madeline.

"And this is the other biggest mountain chain in Unitas," said Fatum. "So if the Prognosticus is in a mountain that fell from the sky, it might be there. Now go."

And so Viv went off to Dream Valley, not particularly caring or noticing if she or her squadron was spotted. That's the beauty of all the drugs in her system. She figured the group was almost done searching the west side and was about to move on to the east. Which was terrible, because she loved the desert and absolutely hated the cold.

Well, the search of the western side didn't go well. Now it was time to go east.

Viv pulled her hat over her head for warmth and headed over to the east side of the mountains, towards Crystal Land, her squadron loyally following her.

Even though she's probably lost.

As Viv and the Pokémon continued sauntering through Crystal Land, they passed by a disturbing sight - corpses. Mountains and mountains of corpses. Piled high to the sky were the bodies of every living thing that called Crystal Land home, or anything that happened to be in the area. Around them pillars of salt were placed in random patterns, as if to indicate that nothing could spawn from this ground again. And on top of the highest pillar sat a great black wolf, staring at the Pokémon with eyes full of hate.

Clearly, something had gotten to Crystal Land before them. And it didn't like company.

The wolf leaped down from the pillar, landing in front of Viv and growling, his eyes suddenly blazing like fire.

"Filthy parasites," said the wolf. "I go out of my way to make sure each and every creeping thing here breathes no more. I salt the earth so nothing can grow back here. And still you come for the crystal."

">Crystal?<" asked an Arbok.

">Do not play dumb with me!<" shouted the wolf, suddenly in the Pokémon's tongue. ">I know the behavior of scum like you!<"

">We weren't doing anything!<" protested a Swalot.

">No?<" asked the wolf. ">This world lived in harmony once. All of nature was in perfect balance. And then life happened. Life upset the balance of nature, life abused this world - life is the reason this planet is dying. By merely living you take away energy from mother earth. With no energy mother earth cannot sustain itself. Therefore... it is not unreasonable to assume you are attempting to destroy the world.<"

">Just through existing?<" asked a shivering Roserade.

">And so if this world is to live,<" said the wolf. ">The solution is rather obvious. Wouldn't you agree?<"

The wolf roared, sending a stream of fire across the squadrons of Pokémon. Several of them are set ablaze and run around in pain. Viv, though, managed to dive out of the way and shoot a few needles into the wolf. It turns towards Viv angrily, its body contorting in several painful-looking ways, before shooting fire at her again. Viv runs to the side, but the wolf tracks her movements.

">You should be a twitching mess on the ground!<" shouted Viv, surprised.

">I am a higher life form than a mere parasite,<" said the wolf. ">I adapt. All that parasites like you can do is attempt to kill this world... and die for it!<"

Normally anyone touching Vic would be filled with enough poison to immediately drop like a bag of dirt. Needles are very hard to get through crystal, however. Viv is held immobile and in the way of the flames, burning alive and filling the air with hallucinogens... Which make the rest of the Pokemon even easier prey.

The rest of the hands' body soon emerged from a hexagon-shaped portal behind Viv. The entire figure was a red crystal figure with a hollow inside held together by an energy sphere.

The being's hands then rushed at the ground, slamming Viv face-first into the dirt.

Viv goes limp in the being's arms as the wolf finishes off any remaining Pokémon that haven't been burned to death or overdosed on Viv's poison.

"Add them to the pile," said the wolf to the being, not even looking at him.

Mr. Thurston suddenly appears next to the Cacturne.

"HI THERE!" shouted Thurston. "Welcome to hell! Enjoy the buffet!"

"Oh, I feel quite welcome!" said Viv. "Thanks ever so much!"

Viv tries to hug Thurston... who flies out of the way quickly.

"HEY!" shouted Thurston. "No touching!"

"Really?" asked Viv. "You look huggable..."

"And ESPECIALLY no hugging!" chided Thurston. "I have a condition which YOU certainly aren't going to help with!"

"... And that's why you wear a bathrobe?" asked Viv.

"I wear a bathrobe because it's airy," said Thurston. "And to keep people from touching me with their filthy unwashed hands!"

"Oh, mine are plenty washed!" said Viv, holding up one of her... nubs, I guess.

Unfortunately the nub is oozing some odd purple substance, which Thurston looks at warily.

"Oh, don't worry about this," said Viv. "Just leaking Pecha Berry extract. Harmless, I assure you!"

Leilanie is waiting for Karasz to come back. All that patience is paying off now that Karasz is returning to where she is. Something doesn't seem right about Karasz.

"Hey, welcome back." Leilanie greeted, then she saw his new sword, "Wait, did Shu actually gave you a new sword?"

"..."

"Karasz? You feeling okay?"

I'm fine. Just get yourself ready for the raid. I'm already prepared for anything for a reason."

"Reason?"

"I must kill Inspector Crane. He screwed with the wrong swordsman this time." Karasz glared at Leilanie, "And I'm not going to let him live."

"Wait- WHAT? You better be joking, man. You got framed, remember?"

"All bets are off when Haven is taking things too far. I'm willing to kill the inspector myself, and I don't want anyone to take my kill away. His head will be mine."

'I don't believe this... You're just gonna throw your heroic title just for that?" Leilanie is starting to feel less sympathetic for Karasz, "You're crazy."

"Crazy is such a mere word. Revengeful is better."

Estrella, in her wanderings around Hellborne Valley, comes across the insane Karasz talking about murdering a man who barely did anything to him. She pauses, thinking of what she could do to stop this madness... But then she realizes she doesn't know the man and keeps a fair distance away, just observing.

...

Meanwhile, Thurston is washing his hands in a river of lava, singing a song to himself to drown out Viv trying to assure him that all the poisons now leaking through his body are strictly beneficial.

Leilanie just stood there as Karasz walks away. She does not feel too comfortable about his behavior. If he wanted to be a hero, why did he have the mind to kill somebody? What could be worse is that he will be addicted to murder.
