"So... that Sonic I glomped was fake?" Amy shakes her head, "Aw jeez! I didn't know that Sonic was a fake! He looks just like you, Sonic... except creepier!"
"That's why I have to find that false hedgehog and save Tails, Knuckles, and the Princess." Sonic checks on Tails' gadget, "Luckily, this gadget will tell us where he went."
"I think I know who's behind all the kidnapping." Amy said, "Maybe Dr. Eggman created a very creepy virus so can lure you into his trap."
Sonic shakes his head as his eyes went wide in surprise. "Dr. Eggman?!," he exasperated, "Well, if that's the case, I guess he'll never learn that if mess with my friends, he'll have to deal with me."
Sure enough, the screen showed another message:
SO MANY SOULS TO PLAY WITH, SO LITTLE TIME. WOULD YOU AGREE?
In the background is a dark-red silhouette of...a terrified Dr. Eggman??
"(!) Like I was saying..."
Sonic sprints his way to the horizon and is heading his way to Old Haven. Amy will have to come along since he will need all the help he can get.
"Viv," said Fatum. "Take your squadron and search the Skyscraper Range."
"Why?" asked Viv.
"Because Madeline's search in the Deumanus Mountains failed..." began Fatum.
"It wouldn't have if you sent backup!" shouted Madeline.
"And this is the other biggest mountain chain in Unitas," said Fatum. "So if the Prognosticus is in a mountain that fell from the sky, it might be there. Now go."
And so Viv went off to Dream Valley, not particularly caring or noticing if she or her squadron was spotted. That's the beauty of all the drugs in her system. She figured the group was almost done searching the west side and was about to move on to the east. Which was terrible, because she loved the desert and absolutely hated the cold.
Joy.
Viv pulled her hat over her head for warmth and headed over to the east side of the mountains, towards Crystal Land, her squadron loyally following her.
Even though she's probably lost.
...
She's definitely lost.
The environment seems to go dark and gloomy. A menacing dwarf is causing a lot of ruckus back in Umaville. Grimm's goal is not finished yet. Suddenly, a red glowing comet is heading towards his direction, and hits him in the back of his head. It seems to be a similar piece to the pink gem, but this one is red. Grimm grinned at the gem.
"My my... What have I detected now?" Grimm picks up the gem, "This looks like the puffball's gem, but this one's mine now! I wonder if that Dark Teensy wants this... Bah! This better be close enough."
"Freeze," said a cold echoey voice behind Grimm.
"So...you poisoned this whole land with your presence...by touch alone? Impressive..." the armored man said, "...if not repulsive. You seem to be too dangerous for your own good, little man."
Tubes of water and nitrogen linked to his gloves and boots.
"Isn't water beautiful in its unsullied state?" the man continued. "A cleansing element, washing away the filth in this gunk-coated world. It is also violent, drowning all that it consumes - truly one of nature's greatest forces. Sometimes...it is up to nature to do what every creature in the world is afraid to do...and that's what I intend to do, you bag of dirt!"
From his gauntlets, tubes extended, each tipped with a spike-shaped head. They stabbed into Grimm's shoulders, sucking blood out of him.
"Who said I was ingesting this?" he laughed. The tubes detached from Grimm, then projected all the noxious blood from them, freezing them into large blades. "Make it...bloody!"
The man then stabbed through Grimm's torso with these frozen blades repeatedly (Bloody Murder).
"I don't normally do these kinds of favors for free," the man said. "I'll just take this as payment for the deed."
For good measure, the man opened the jaw of his helmet, the tube inside shooting a stream of chilling nitrogen onto Grimm's remains. The man then stomped the frozen remains to pieces before making his leave.
All the commotion just caught Knuckles' attention as he arrives at the scene. He finds the man who obliterated Grimm's corpse.
