Personality:
Shibutani, by far, doesn't come anywhere close to the stereotype of a cold and calculating sniper.

Or at least that's the way he seems on the outside.

He always enjoys spending time with his squad mates, having a cold beer, and inviting people over for the barbeques and parties that he always holds at his house whenever he and his fiance have the time to do so. He's in love with his wife-to-be, and always carries a picture of her and him together from when they were on vacation at a beach hotel. However, when it comes to the mission he changes. While he will still crack jokes and be generally jovial about the whole affair, he becomes far more serious as well, and fully understands that completing the mission comes first. That doesn't mean he isn't pleasent to be around, however. Then when it comes to the parties and barbeques he has, he is always the happ, and ever present host. So you could describe him as . . . "average". The primary difference between him and any of his neighbors is, first of all, his eyes that are like all those of Section 6, and the fact that he has been throoughly trained to kill people at long ranges.

Don't ask him about his days as a mercenary, however.

Not even his good friends get to hear much about those days.

History:
Shibutani was born in Japan, obviously.

His father died in a car wreck three weeks before he was born and his mother died of complications in child birth. That meant that the young boy grew up without any siblings, as an orphan, and at first it seemed like he would have no problems other than a lack of blood parents. Unfortunately a French mercenary by the name of Marc Dufour had different plans for him. He was starting to employ the use of child soldiers in the war going on in Mexico. Mercenaries working for him posed as loving married couples and adopted Shibutani and several other children. There were eight of them taken in all, and they were taken to a training center that Marc had established on America's west coast. It's location was hidden and they were never really given any experiences of the outside world while training. They were given weapons, food, clothes, and attention. The children loved it, or at least they were fine with it, because none of them had been over two years old when they were adopted, and brought to the camp. So Shibutani, who had marked himself out over the years in training as an excellent shot, was given more focused training as a sniper, and soon he was deployed in to the field to support other mercenaries and his fellow child-soldiers.

The documented kills he got from the age of fifteen to seventeen are approximately 125 people killed. He became known as Juene Mort, or "Young Death" in French.

However, his mercenary career couldn't last forever.

One night he engaged a patrol of American soldiers from the seventh story of an old apartment building. There were twelve of them and he managed to kill four before they finally determined what building he was firing from. He wasn't aware of it at the time, but they had called in support once they knew generally where he was. A gunship equipped with a thermal camera responded to their call. When it arrived, Shibutani attempted to flee, but it fired a missile in to a room that he ran past the door of. He was bombarded with shrapnel from the blast and the Americans, thinking he was dead, quickly left the area, and returned to base. Somehow he lived on though. Whether because his wounds weren't initially that serious, or it was by pure force of will: the seventeen year old boy was able to stumble out of the building. He moved through the streets of the city for a whole day until he was found by a Japanese armored patrol. Unarmed and with no markings of nationality on him, the Japanese didn't know what to think, and so they brought him in for medical attention. Sadly it was there where his arms and legs, badly injured and somewhat infected over the course of twenty four hours, had to be amputated, and replaced with cybernetics. Then when they finally found out who he was (they only knew him as a young adopted boy), though they were still confused as to what he was doing in Mexico, they shipped him back to Japan, and he only spent another year in an orphanage before going to live on his own.

Though he hated Marc Dufour for what happened to him, it didn't stop him from using his childhood skills (which he just claimed were beginner's luck), he managed to join the police, and get on as a member of SWAT.

He became a sniper once again.

Doing this until he was twenty six years old, he was noticed by Section 6.

Taking him in, they replaced his eyes as they did with all members, and now employ him as the field team's sniper.
