"Oh. Okay. Thanks, that's be great!" Darci replied with her fake, award winning smile. She could convince anyone with her smile, and it was pretty amusing. However, she hated doing it. Darci thought briefly about the tryouts. Maybe she could blow them intentionally. Maybe she could just not show up? Might as well go... she thought to herself.

Then, Alex brought up the how she was in advanced geometry. Oh how Darci hated people asking about her academics! Truth be told, mathematics was the only subject she passed with fling colors. Every other class she struggled with, no matter how hard she tried or how hard she worked. They just didn't connect in her head. It didn't work. Math made sense. Math just came naturally. Pursing her lips, Darci looked at her workbook. She started doing her assigned work and nodded her head in response to Alex's question. "Mhmmm," she said through her sealed lips.

Alex finished her assignment and turned it in just as the bell rang and she walked off to her second period class. Tyler walked to his second period class which was with his dad the gym teacher. AFter an incredibly frustrating period and after drama Tyler stormed into the lunch room looking for Darci frantically.

The bell rang and Darci scribbled down some the rest of the answers on her page. She stood up and walked to her second period class, Creative Writing. She watched the clock from her assigned seat, and soon enough the period was over. Then there was gym. Third period with Tyler.

She walked to the girls locker room and got changed into her gym clothes and then went into the gym. Personally, she hated gym. It was just a big waste of energy and time in her opinion. However, this was high school P.E. and it ought to have something special in stock. That's when she saw it. Standing on the opposite side of the room, she saw Mr. Berry, and her best friend, Tyler. They seemed to be talking, or fighting. She was grateful she didn't hear it, but she was sure others around them did. Maybe they didn't, but who knows? As if she hadn't see anything, she walked to the side and stood amongst the other females in the area. She stayed back and didn't engage in conversation, but instead she stared straight ahead at her best friend and his father.

For brief second she averted her eyes from the scene, but when she looked back they were both gone. Oh no, she thought. This can't be good. With the gym teacher gone, the students began to freak out. They hollered and grabbed any object in reach. Before she could move out of the way, a rubber dodge ball made contact with her stomach. "Ughhffffffff." Her arms wrapped around herself and she crumpled to the floor. Balls or all sorts kept flying through the air, and kids screamed. Some screaming with laughter, some with fear, some out of shock, some out of joy; they all screamed.

When the shock of being hit wore away, she crawled out of the gym and went back to the locker room. She got changed into her original attire and fixed her hair. Then, she headed straight for the cafeteria. She decided to sit there until Tyler came in, which he did moments after Darci had situated herself. He seemed frantic, and Darci stood up and went over to him calmly. Her insides were boiling, wondering what had happened, but she had to play it cool and act as if she hadn't seen anything.

"Tyler," she said soothingly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"

Tyler sat down next to her clenching his fists angrily "you saw me fighting with my dad didn't you" He asked reaching into his bag pulling out his lunch. "its okay if you did he wants me to come over to his house tonight instead of me coming over and he's talking about fighting my mom for custody since she's not home alot" He said

Darci frowned and looked at him. She sat down across from him and bit her lip nervously. "Yeah I did..Well, what are you gonna do? Are you still coming over, or are you going over your dad's?" Then Tyler mentioned custody. Darci's jaw dropped.

"No. Did he really bring that up? What did you say? Are you okay?" She was full of concern for her best friend. She felt bad and didn't want to see this happening to him.

Tyler shook his head "I'm going over tonight and I'll tell uncle kurt" He said "as far as custody goes my dad will lose he always does and I'm old enough to decide where I want to live I just get sick of hearing my mom and dad fight over me" he said
