Oz put his coffee down and began to scribble away, filling out post-missions forms and the likes. As he worked, he started humming a melody in his head. It was one of the newest pieces by Ebel’s rising songstress, Telim Concerto. It was near impossible for someone to not know her name these days. Signs were plastered all over the city about her latest songs and any upcoming concerts. She had an entire following all over Ebel, let alone just Hibiscus City. As Ozwald continued to write away, his bell chimed, signifying someone was at the door in the main hall. With everyone out and about on this fine day, Oz figured he should see who it was. As he walked down the stairs to the hall, he noticed Elch had already let the person in and they were sitting comfortably in a chair. Ozwald continued down the stairs cautiously; He couldn’t see who this person was, as they were entirely cloaked....could it be another one of the attackers, here to finish the job?
Ozwald stood at a distance, keeping a calm composure, as Aria and Elch watched from the bar, equally suspicious.
“Good afternoon, I’m Ozwald, Second in command here. Can I help you?” Ozwald asked politely, bowing to the hooded figure.
“Why yes, yes you can,” The figure giggled back in a melodious tone. Ozwald immediately perked up as he recognized the voice. He looked up from his bow to see the person remove their cloak to reveal the face of the young star Telim Concerto.
“Ah...Ah! Miss Concerto! My, what an honor it is to have you come to our guild! What brings you here today!?”
Blushing at the comment, Telim crossed her legs and smiled, “No, the honor is all mine, I’ve heard nothing but the utmost spectacular things about Golden Leo! You’ll have to excuse my attire, but it’s awfully hard to walk the streets when flocks of admirers are chasing you down for an autograph.”
Ozwald chuckled and nodded as Aria quickly rushed over with a glass of water of Telim, an odd smile spread on her usually serious and grim face.
As Telim nodded thankfully at Aria, she continued. “The reason I’m here is that I was hoping to enlist the help of some of your fine mages to escort me to my next concert in Floris. I’d like around 6 or so, and money is not an issue!”
Ozwald shifted in his seat before leaning in, a look of intrigue on his face.
“That’s quite a journey ahead of you....Any reason why you might need so many mages for an escort?”
Telim just smiled innocently and laughed. “Oh, you can never know what might come up during the life of a celebrity!”
Ozwald nodded as he sat back in his seat.
“Well, that’s reasonable enough. Let’s see, I have a few mages available for the jobs.....We have Tiir Worthbane, Blitz Ranfen, and Ace Elmas, our guild leader’s grandson......and, oh! You’re in luck, Jean Jean, one of our resident S Rank mages just got back from his mission! Other than that, I’ll see if there’s any other positions to fill.”
Ozwald looked over his mission schedule and saw Hershell was currently free, but he knew there was no way he could get that boy to do a mission unless he wanted to. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to try.
“Excellent!” Telim smiled, clasping her hands together, “I would like to leave in three days time, by train, if that’s okay!”
Ozwald smiled and nodded. “Yes, that’ll be quite alright. I’ll let the mages know right away! Elch!”
The small beast-boy smiled happily grabbed Ozwald’s job posting and threw it onto the board for everyone to see.
