"You know, when I say go right, I expect you to go right; donā€™t make me repeat myself."

General Information

Name
Vincent Velorien

Nickname
ā€œI have a nickname, but donā€™t call me by it.ā€
Vince

Age
24

Gender
Male

Sexuality
ā€œIf my smarts say that itā€™s a good idea, Iā€™d go after anyone.ā€
Pansexual

Role
Tactician

Bionic
Enhanced brain power; his mind capacity is by far larger than many of the other humans, and even on par with his professors back at home. This enhancement allows Vincent to remember many details, scrolls and books he has read in the past, and other daily life interactions. Not only is his brain capacity large, his memory retrieval time is also shortened compared to that of a normal human, and he rarely forgets anything at all.

Weapon
Though considered a scholar in name, many people tend to call Vincent a scoundrel or a rogue. This arose due to his proficiency with clubs and large cleaving axes, his strength at a high level due to his hard background.

Race
Human

Appearance

Height
6ā€2

Weight
165llbs

Eyes
Vincent has heterochromia iridum, that is, the irises of his two eyes are different colors. One is a pale blue, the other a pale violet.

Hair
Black

Clothing
Vincent refuses to wear the garbs that apprentices at the School of Knowledge have to wear. He tends to roam around with a pair of black jeans, tattered and smudged due to his ways around Earth and frequent fights and stealing. His shirts are almost all tattered, due to his lack of care with them in general. All of them are black for no reason at all; Vincent rarely ever wears any color other than black, and even when ordered to wear a colorful garb, he either still goes in his normal clothes or dies the given clothes black, as he feels more safe in the shadows than in the light.

When by himself or around people he knows well- and especially in his private library-, Vincent tends to wear tattered tank tops, with smoke smudges all over them. Otherwise, Vincent tends to cover up his face, his face in the shadow of a hood, when interacting with others.

Appearance
Though he looks 30, Vincent is truly actually only 25 years old. His spiky black hair and otherwise rather hard stomach hints at his young age and young mindset. His scraggily beard and deep-set smile and frown wrinkles tend to hint at a darker background, or a longer lifespan, than what Vincent actually has.

Special Markings
Due to an experiment gone bad, Vincent lost both of his arms. He replaced his arms with two mechanical arms that react based on how he wants them to act, and both arms act almost as if real, though Vincent does crave that one day he might be able to re-grow his arms, or at least implant a system of touch sensors on his metal arms. Upon his chest, there are round circular tattoos, which signify the amount of years Vincent has been away from his family and home. Each circle represents five years. Other than that, Vincent has multiple wounds from past incidents with guards, rogue animals, and experiments.

Personality
Vincent is an extremely cheery fellow, well, his cheeriness leans more to the side of abandon then the type of happiness that entails flowers, sunshine and happiness. When forced to show up at events, Vincent tends to fall asleep in a corner, his hood covering his face and his feet on the chair in front of him, sometimes even snoring while the speaker is announcing whatever on the podium. Rarely has anyone ever seen him serious, except for his robotic helpers back at his condo, who see him working over the different gizmos and gadgets he loves to create, and while he pours over old novels with tattered pages that he stole from the national library about epic battles of old. Though Vincent is 25 by age, he acts as if he is 15, constantly throwing tantrums and having sudden mood swings when things donā€™t go his way.

At times, actually, at all times, Vincent is extremely snarky, even during times of near-death experiences. Laughs can be heard almost constantly from under his hood when he is with others, along with sexual innuendos and advances towards women and men alike. He has never known many boundaries, and really never follows any rules and goes with his own pace, with a bright mindset.

When agitated, Vincent tends to go into a panic, as he loves to have order in his life rather than chaos. At times like these, he reminds others what school he went to by flipping out books to read and find a solution to whatever problem he faces (though in his other hand he tends to hold a bottle of beer or wine).

Family / Relationships
Mother- Dorian: After Vincent accidentally blew up the small house the Velorien family lived in, his relationship with his step-mother went from bad to worse. But it didnā€™t matter much to him, anyways, as he was taken away by the School of Knowledge at the young age of 5 and never returned. She had never really liked the young boy anyways, as she had to take care of her own two children, and threw the young Vincent aside to his own business almost ever since day 1.

Father- Benson: Benson is a typical recycler who picks up gadgets and gizmos other people donā€™t need to resell to other vendors. Vincent has always had a good relationship with his father, as they both fooled around with the gadgets his father picks up at factories and the like, while Vincent actually built stuff and his father marveled at his sonā€™s ingenuity. Benson was the one who informed the School of his sonā€™s high level of intelligence, hoping to rise his son out of the lands of poverty they lived in.

Younger Brother 1- Julian: Julian and Vincent are on extremely bad terms. This isnā€™t due to the high amount of affection Benson lathers on Vincent, or due to their motherā€™s influence; rather, the two just really didnā€™t like each other. Since young, Julian had an overbearing attitude that Vincent just could not stand at all. He has not missed him over the two decades heā€™s been away.

Younger Brother 2- Lector: Vincent adores Lector. The young boy is the complete opposite of Julian and is compassionate and caring to almost everyone and anything he sees. The last time he visited, the machines Vincent had created to help himself around the lab almost left with Lector because of the amount of positivity they felt towards him. Vincent sends presents and letters to Lector every month, along with money to their father.

Professor Alek: the only person in the School who likes Vincent is professor Alek, also one of the oldest and most prestigious members of the board. After teaching Vincent in one of the most advanced classes in the School when Vincent was only 15, he had an instant interest and liking towards Vincent, who felt the same back to the old, bald man. Afterwards, they would commonly have tea with one another, discussing different war tactics and old relics with one another, while playing mind-stimulating games.

School Life
When Vincent entered the School at the age of 5, he was in awe at the wide spacious and bright buildings that faced him, though the complexes were mostly under ground. He listened to all his classes, including ā€˜Military Tacticsā€™, ā€˜Chemistry 101ā€™, ā€˜Astrology 101ā€™ and so forth with much zeal and enthusiasm. After class, many would hear the light pattering of his tiny feet and the sound of his robe dragging on the floor into the library to read books.

This all died when he reached the age of 13 and started becoming rebellious. He no longer listened to his professors, nor did he try to socialize with the older students who had shunned him for the past 8 years. Books and machines were his only solace in the closed off School, and so this forced him to think in another direction. He started skipping classes to run and visit the outside world, of nothing but tall, steel building surfaces, and try to trade information to earn money to send back home. To prove that Iā€™m a grown up and old enough to leave this Hell Hole! he would think, but later on, the one time he was caught, he faced dire consequences. The beating and lashes left scars on his backs that were visible until he was 15 (during which he created a potion to cover up scars and aberrations to the skin).

After that, Vincent was further shunned by the rest of the people at the School. It came to the point that he was the laughing stock of many jokes, and some of the bolder students started to bully him, stealing books out of his lockers and breaking his inventions, though they couldnā€™t do much in class, as his work was still of high quality. Vincent smiled through all of this, and started to visit Professor Alec for tea and other activities, though later it turned into personal lessons in meditating, until one person stole the money he was about to send to his father back at home. This snapped the thinning amount of patience Vincent had, and he rampaged through the school until he finally found his money, the students who stole it piled in their own pools of blood.

Surprisingly, Vincent was not expelled, only due to Professor Alecā€™s influence and his sheer smarts and reputation as a prodigy. However, his classes were cancelled, and he only had access to his condo, the library, and Professor Alecā€™s room. But he really couldnā€™t give a damn anyways, and started to drink and smoke freely wherever he went throughout the school.

General History
Vincentā€™s mother died during childbirth, only managing to whisper out his name to his father, who had manually helped her give birth to the young baby. This crushed Benson for a while before he met his second wife, Dorian, while Vincent was only a few months old. In succession, Dorian gave birth to Vincentā€™s younger brothers, and forced Benson to estrange Vincent to only a few hours of machine building every week. On all other days, Vincent was forced to stay in his own cold room, and his room smelled of filth as no one ever took care of him, with his father too busy and his step-mother a barrier to any sort of fatherly or motherly care.

As noted above, at the age of 5, Vincent was carted off to the School of Knowledge, after his father had sent a secret note to the School heralding his sonā€™s intelligence. As per the rules of the School, messengers came and examined the young boy (though their upper lips curled when they saw the dirty state the young boy was in, though Vincentā€™s father tried to wash everything for the boy at least once a week). They deemed him above average in intelligence and accepted him into the School of Knowledge, during which Vincent spent the next twenty years in without much drama, or at least in his eyes it was so.

Recently, Professor Alec had called him to his office to talk to him about a 6-person exploration team and that the board had asked him to suggest a student of prime health and age to go as the ā€˜tacticianā€™, or so they called it. Professor Alec had chosen Vincent due to his smarts and his capabilities of protecting himself, as compared to the skinny, useless bookheads (so the Professor himself said) that dominated the School. Thus, Vincent was beamed off to the capitol to accept his position for the 6-people expedition to the other planets that the people on his planet could reach.

Vincent nodded and swiveled his chair again, this time dragging the interface with him. He whistled with appreciation, though this really wasnā€™t too advanced for the technology at the time, and once again resumed fiddling around with the multiple selections on the database. Dragging back the planet information sheets except for the coordinates of Gondalia, Vincent opened the one for the planet that they were headed to. He had heard of the planet before- he definitely had, the memory still fresh as if it were yesterday- but from what he remembered, it was an extremely brief and basic overview. Nothing had been said about what sort of inhabitants lived there, or the demography of the planet itself. The only two things that Vincent had got out of the lecture was: one, the inhabitants of the planet were savage, crude and dangerous; two, it was most likely that most of the surface of the planet was water.

But after fiddling around with the interface in front of him, working his way through as if he had been working with it for many years, Vincent didnā€™t learn anything more about Gondalia at all. The glaring words that caught his eyes the most: Unexplored. He paused, pulled off his hood, and glared at the words before pulling his face close up to the floating interface. ā€œAre you kidding me? Vincent shook his head, laughing slightly as if it were a joke before swiping his hands around again, refreshing the page to see the singular word again. Unexplored.

Vincent couldnā€™t believe his eyes. Are they sending us offā€¦to get us killed?! His palms sweated as he returned to Gondaliaā€™s information page and looked through the rest of the sparse information on there. Grabbing his pack that he had placed earlier on his lap, he opened it and grabbed his pad and a flask which he downed in a second. ā€œGod damn it!ā€ Vincent muttered as he made the interface shrink back into the screen in front of him and then made the interface of the pad in his hands emerge from the slab of glass. Amongst the immense amount of folders that appeared in front of Vincent, he chose one that was in the corner of the selections.

ā€œCome onā€¦come onā€¦,ā€ he muttered, as a loading screen showed, anxiety and nervousness biting at him as he waited for the folder to show. Finally, the loading screen faded to show more folders, many of which had ā€˜Confidentialā€™ in their titles. It wasnā€™t that Vincent was a rebel- well, he was, to an extent- but he loved hacking into the government information databases. This included ā€˜piratingā€™ data on basic things such as where people lived to the experiments done in the underground labs that the government hid from the entire human population on Earth, to information on life-bearing planets. The file that he opened now contained stolen confidential data on an amalgam of planets, including the water-planet called Gondolia.

The file contained the exact same information- word for word- on the interface that was on the StarFire 200IO. Vincent let out a strangled laugh and waved his hand downwards toward the pad, the words in the air immediately vanishing back into the slab of glass on his lap. Zipping is pack up, Vincent unlocked his seatbelt and got up, shaking his head slightly and yelled at Hannah, ā€œIā€™ll be back. Soon enough.ā€ Leaving the bridge, Vincent chose one of the rooms that was closest and wasnā€™t occupied and threw his bag in before heading off to the galley. I swear. If they donā€™t have some alcohol on this death trapā€¦

The trip, in Vincentā€™s eyes, was starting on the bloody best way ever- and he needed booze to make it even more glorious.

Tori drifted off for about 15 minutes before waking up again stretching out yawning. " Well I better get ready to hit the training room!" The young fighter stood up from her bed pulling off her biker grab and changing into a pair of black sweats and a grey tank-top. She unhooked the small metal cylinder device from her keys and uncapped the small bottle of scotch. She took a gulp then capped it back up and placed it back in her back. Tori figured she'd unpack later since she really wanted to check out the training room now.

When she was ready Tori stepped out her room rubbing the back of her neck the small metal device in her other hand. Looking down either side of the hall seeing no one she began to walk towards the bridge. When she got there she only saw the captain sitting in her chair. She walked next to her looking out into the sky. " Sure is pretty Captain, the sky that is and you too." Tori was just going to say the sky but she couldn't resist the urge to add on. She stood there for a second looking at the sky truly hypnotized by the colors.

"Well I'm off to the training room miss captain lady, catch ya later beautiful~" With that The young fighter turned once more on her heel and began down the hall. As she walked around she thought that she'd probably check out the other places while on her way to the training room. After a five minute walk the young fighter saw Vincent and walked up to him. " Hey there Vince, your looking rather..nervous?"She said questionably wondering if she was wrong or right. Tori shoved her hands in her pockets exhaling then inhaling the cool air as she walked.

Hannah gave a small smirk as Vincent began to freak out over in his little corner, guess he just realised how little earth knew about these others planets, "Guess your not in it for the adventure than, huh buddy." She asked her bridge partner as she began to set the adjustment and controls for the ship onto cruise so that they wouldn't crash by accident. She heard him leave a little while later cursing slightly every now and than, giving a small smile she clicked on autopilot and injected the ships alarm into her body, the alarm would go off every time autopilot wasn't enough for the ship to continue its flight, like a meteor field or something that required actual skill and thought.

Giving a peaceful sigh, she leaned back in her chair staring out into the void of space. Stars shone through the inky blackness and created a picture of colour and lights. It was one of the main reason why she wanted to go on this venture, to see the space they lived in and see the beauty of the black night sky she always looked up at in wonder when she was a child.

"Sure is pretty Captain, the sky that is and you too." Hannah nearly jumped a mile high as Tori appeared behind her. She sent the women a small smile over her shoulder at her, before nodding her head in agreement. "It is, it's mainly why I wanted to be a pilot, so I could see the beauty of the night sky close up. Thanks for the skittle by the way, you have no idea how much I have been craving them!" She shock the green bag and tipped a few of the sweets into her mouth as demonstration, sighing a little in pleasure at the sweetness.

They stared at the sky together for a few moments in silence before Tori began to leave, "Well I'm off to the training room miss captain lady, catch ya later beautiful~". Hannah felt her cheeks heat up a little at the comment, it had been a while since anyone had been that nice or flirty with her. Shaking her head to get rid of it, Hannah also stood from her seat and made her way towards the crews quarters and grabbing the room next to her brothers so that they would be closer to each other. Letting out a small sigh of relief as she collapsed down onto the bed, Hannah drifted off into sleep.

~meanwhile~

After taking the inventory in the sick bay, Ricky decided to head back to his room, after all he had nothing better to do. Half way there though he had to pass past the galley and as he did his nose picked up the smell of food. Planning on ignoring it and just continuing after realising there were people inside, the shapeshooter and the medic, he soon changed his mind when his stomach let out a loud groan of protest and forced his feet to change direction and walk right into the occupied room.

Muttering a small hi so as not be rude if they had seen him enter, he kept his head down so as to not be noticed, the two seemed to be busy eating and talking so maybe he would be lucky and get away unseen. Opening up one of the cupboards he noticed a small foil pack of soup. Smiling happily behind his fringe, he moved towards the kettle as he set it to boil along with setting out two cups. Continuing to rummage through the cupboard, he finally found what he was looking for, giving a small squeak of triumph, he pulled out the box of fruit tea and honey before setting about filling the cups with boiling water and their respective food items.

Muttering to himself, Vincent had walked out of his room, his eyes vacant with thought. Why in the blazes didnā€™t I search this all earlier. He couldnā€™t believe himself, really. It wasnā€™t like Vincent to jump into anything without planning everything out earlier, but, well, most of the time. Except for those times he went off and stole articles and machine parts from the ghetto areas near the School of Knowledge.

Shaking his head again, Vincent looked up only to find himself in another room. ā€œOops,ā€ he muttered, backing out of the room hastily and back onto the corridor that went through almost all of the ship, with many others branching off to who knows where- yet. ā€œSorry ā€˜bout that.ā€ He muttered to no one in particular as he turned and took the right way to the Galley.

ā€œHey there Vince, youā€™re looking ratherā€¦nervous?ā€ Vincent stopped in his tracks and turned around, quickly, his eyes narrowed with fear and anger. When he saw it was nothing but Tori behind him, Vincent sighed and shook his head, taking in the woman who stood almost of equal height. ā€œItā€™s nothing, Tori, really.ā€ He scratched his chin and resumed his slow walk towards the Galley. ā€œJust figured out weā€™re in a death trap, ā€˜s all.ā€ Vincent muttered darkly, as he shoved his hands into his pockets. The scowl on his face came back, as his shoulders hunched even further, making Vincent seem a lot shorter than he actually was. ā€œIā€™m off to the Bridge to see if they stashed any booze on this damned ship, want to come with? Iā€™ll just tell you, though, if thereā€™s only a limited supply,ā€ his face soured, ā€œAll of itā€™s mine.ā€

Turning once more, Vincent walked into the Galley, ignoring the two others already there as his mind was filled only with the need to find alcohol to drizzle down his throat. Starting with the cabinets closest to him, Vincent rummaged through them as he chanted- though he didnā€™t know- ā€œBooze, booze, boozeā€¦ā€ His search proved futile in that singular cabinet. All that met his inquisitive and searching hands were vials after vials of chemical substances. Why in the world do they have rare acids stored on this flying ship? Vincent thought, raising an eyebrow as he picked up an extremely rare- and expensive- acid from amongst the bottles that were stored in the cabinet. I could've made a fortune with this back on Earth! He stored it back in and glanced once more at the bottles in front of him. Cursing as he saw nothing that looked even slightly like booze, Vincent slammed the cupboard and went onto the next, his vigor renewed with the sight of the new, untouched and un-searched cabinet.

" A death trap huh? Well that sure makes me feel safe." Tori followed, standing right next to the tall Vincent. " Iā€™m off to the Bridge to see if they stashed any booze on this damned ship, want to come with? Iā€™ll just tell you, though, if thereā€™s only a limited supply,ā€. The fighter raised her eyebrow at this knowing full and well that she still had about a whole small bottle of scotch left but she stayed quiet about it wanting to tease a little. " Aye sir! I'll tag with." The tall woman followed behind him as they made their way into the galley. Upon entering Tori noticed the other two members of the crew over by the table. "Yo, what's up people."

She walked over to them and took a seat as she watched Vincent go through the cabinets like a mad man.She lightly tapped her fingertips on the table watching him, enjoying him scrambling around like that. Hm maybe I should tell him now?...Nah I'll tell him in five more minutes. Tori turned to the other two, Nixon and Minerva. " Sooo how are you two doing so far?" A small smile grew on her face then she stuck her thumb out pointing at Vincent while never turning her head to face him. " Please don't tell me any of you are gonna go mad like him anytime soon?"
