Ellen is someone of refined beauty, keen, cold, and very easy on the eyes. Her features are sharp and defined, with long black hair and pale skin to give her an almost ethereal appearance. Her eyes glint with intelligence and experience, as if she were something more than what she seemed, something more than just a normal girl. Ellen's small, very short for her age yet when she's serious she can give off a feeling that you're an idiot for underestimating her. Though it's rare, hidden behind those cold ice and that stoic face is a playful smile, a joking grin. Though Ellen tends to dress in neat, semi-fancy clothing, don't think she's just a feminine girl.

Ellie is definitely someone whose mental acuity is her best attribute. She's sharp, she's quick, and she knows how to see people for who they really are. It doesn't take too much effort for her to weave through lies and see the truth for what it is, making her a natural for discussions and debates. Because of her intelligence, however, it makes her feel isolated and not-in-touch with most people, thus it's difficult for her to make friends, and is naturally closed off from most. People mistake it for not caring because of her tendency to hide her emotions from everyone but Cress. Around her cousin, however, Ellen becomes energetic and playful, and is willing to express herself and show her inner self, the self that loves to talk and to wonder and to think about deep things like philosophy or destiny.

{β˜› β’½β’Ύβ“ˆβ“‰β“„β“‡β“Ž ☚}
Six years ago, the younger sister of Marcus Winter went on a walk in the Yosemite National Park. She found a ten year old girl there, lost, alone, and with no memories. When Leona checked her at the police station, no one recognized her, she wasn't even in the registry. Leona was barren, unfortunately - after a miscarriage years ago she found herself unable to have a child. This ruined her marriage and her then husband left her, so she decided to adopt the nameless child and name her Ellen.

Ellen was always a strange girl. She was naturally curious, but she was also quiet and reserved, preferring not to talk whenever possible. She was incredibly intelligent even when she was young, and very quickly learned about the world. Still, Leona was afraid that Ellen might've ended up afraid and alone once she was thrown into an unknown environment like school, so since she was the same age as Cress, Leona moved to a house closer to where her brother's widow lived, one of her best friends for a long time, Louise Winter. There she introduce Cress to Ellen and it was then that fate was decided.

Cress showed Ellen the world, and it was her that helped Ellie feel as if she were really a part of the family. The two were as close as real sisters, and was what was needed to help ease Ellie out of her natural shyness, bringing out the repressed child side of her that liked fun and playing around. Of course, Ellie's almost magical ability to warp technology however she wanted only proved to be worse and worse as time went on and soon enough, Ellie saw men in black suits following her around. They took pictures of Cress, using her as leverage to draw Ellie out and she agreed to help with whatever they wanted if it meant they'd leave them alone.

The girl was forced to create strange futuristic weapons that humans had never seen before and she always felt horrible for knowing that her knowledge was going to be used to hurt others, but she had to prioritize Cress, because her cousin was almost everything to her. From then on, though, Ellen started closing herself off again, distrusting those around her and made sure to always think through things before doing anything hasty. She wasn't sure if Cress or the rest of the family ever knew about the incident, but Ellen wasn't sure she'd ever tell anyone.

Then one night, Ellen fell into a trance at the family summer home, hearing a strange voice that made her feel things she hasn't felt for over six years. She followed the voice, not knowing her beloved cousin, Cress, was following behind her, tying their fates together...

|| Flaws || Bastille ||

Cress felt it, the stiffness and she knew something wasn't right. Cress knew it, they were hurting Ellie, making her feel unnecessary pain. Why? Shouldn't they have been protecting the girl with all her might? Cress thought Ellie would be safe here, but she wasn't. How foolish Cress was, thinking that the Princess would be safe in her castle, locked inside with a Mother that was willing to twist a knife in anyone's back to get what she wanted. No doubt the Queen was trying to tear Ellie apart. "You're lying," Cress said quietly, but it didn't seem like Ellie wanted to speak about it and so Cress left it alone. Perhaps it was too traumatizing to even think of the event that occurred? In time Ellie would tell Cress of the misgiving veneer the Queen marched around in.

Cress cringed at the mention of dresses. "Yes, well if it let me see you then I didn't care." She grinned and threw off the blanket to show Ellie her legs, smoothly waxed. "They put me through enough prep that makes me wonder why girls even bother!" She snickered, trying to emulate the warmth Ellie seemed to be missing. She wanted to tell her cousin that she could take down that wall, that the two were best friends and so she didn't need to cry anymore, that Cress was here and she would listen to everything Ellie had to say. Then she remembered, Heron, the red headed knight and realized that Ellie was keeping things from her servant.

"I had shorts on underneath though," Cress grinned, knowing that it was cheating. Then Ellie threatened Heron and the knight laughed. "She was perfectly pleasant," Cress said, laying her head in Ellie's lap like she used to. Then they discussed things about Cress rather than including her despite the fact that she was right there. "Hang on a minute," Cress sat up, facing the two. "I'm not leaving without you Ellie." Cress said, taking Ellie's hands. "You're my cousin! Not some stupid Princess!" Cress growled, "If you're staying then I am too!" The mention of the Queen and the collar made an odd sensation crawl up Cress's back. Not fear, hatred she believed, pure an unadulterated, a kind of hatred Cress had never felt before.

Cress was about to say something when Heron kissed her, right on the lips. She blinked, resisted but Heron pulled away and went on to kiss Ellie. So Cress punched her, "Don't touch Ellie like that!" She snapped and Heron grinned, "Jealous?" She asked and there was a knock at the door. Cautiously, Heron opened it and seeing who it was she quickly took the blonde in her arms, closing the door and resting her chin in on Shiro's head since the servant was much shorter. "Well would'ya look at this? My room is just filled with cute girls!" Shiro was pulling down on her dress, as though embarrassed by something.

|| I'm on Top of the World|| Imagine Dragons ||

Shiro was running around, looking for the Princess. She wasn't allowed to wear shoes either, according to the Queen so her barefoot feet tapped quietly on the marble floor as she ran around, looking for her charge. She slowed, seeing Archon the tutor and a girl that Shiro recognized with startling clarity. "Aine?" She asked, eyes widening in shock. Shiro remembered that this wasn't the real Aine, that she had been looking at Aine's death certificate the other day. This was a fake, a sham. Shiro slowed, curtsying and remembered the embarrassing shortness of the dress she was wearing. She could see them avoiding staring at it, the diaper that peeked out just below the dress and Shiro's cheeks turned a bright pink.

"Yes, I'm doing much better thanks to you." Shiro said while squirming nervously. While pulling down her dress with one hand she returned fake Aine's little wave, giving the other blonde her cutest smile. "Um, the Queen was punishing me and..." she trailed off, feeling the need to explain her current predicament. "The Princess! I'll go get her!" She hurried away, tears of embarrassment pricking in her eyes. Shiro quickly wiped them away, no, she couldn't cry, she had to be a big girl. If the Queen saw Shiro crying she would punish her again.

Shiro only knew of one person who could help and so she headed across the entire castle, hurrying along and not stopping when other servants waved hello. "I'm sorry! I'm on a royal errand!" She explained and they would nod in understanding. Shiro hurried along, cutting through the garden and to the other side where the knights and knights in training slept. She stopped at the desk, a check in where knights would scan their ID chip. "Excuse me, I'm looking for Knight Heron Cheribum." Shiro said, looking up at the secretary. The man tapped in something and Shiro scanned her ID chip, following the directions he had given down the hall and through a confusing set of doors to another hall. How did anyone find their way here? Shiro wondered.

Finally, she reached the door with the hologram of Heron's name on it. The girl raised her hand, hesitated. No doubt Heron would think that Shiro was a terrible lady in waiting and would tell the queen, but Shiro had to try. She knocked twice, her hand falling to her side as she waited. The door opened, Heron grinned and pulled her inside, saying something about cute girls. "Princess!" Shiro's eyes sparkled in relief as she threw herself at her and hugged the Princess tightly. "Thank goodness I found you," she said, her blue eyes watering as she looked up at the girl. Shiro straightened, realizing that Heron must have gotten quite the view below. "Archon is looking for you."

❝A bridge shall be built to bring us together.❞

|| Secret ~Black Vow~ || Rin/Len (cover by SirHammet) ||

Cress knew she was lying, and Ellie wasn't particularly surprised. She knew it was impossible for her to lie to her best friend, her closest and favorite person in the world. But thankfully she decided to drop it, though Ellie knew that once they had privacy and weren't living in fear that it would happen all over again, that Cress would try to get the truth out so she could help and heal it. It was good that Heron didn't seem to do anything untoward, other than what was needed to help with the cuts and injuries with the healing salve. Cress then said her intentions, that she wasn't leaving without Ellie but as much as it pained her, she knew they'd have to part ways. Once this was all over, Ellie needed to stay behind to make sure Ashia Palace became a good and fair place. Even with the Queen dead and Itward dealt with - assuming they even got that far - they still needed a ruler to fix things, and Ellie knew that she was the only one who could do it. She was the only one who could succeed. "You're an earthling." Ellie murmured, knowing how much Cress would miss her, knowing that she'd only tear apart the hole in her cousin's heart all over again, the hole she covered up that mourned her departed father. Ellie longed for Cress's fire to melt her ice and bring her back, but she was also afraid that without her ice, she wouldn't have the resolve to rule Ourania once the rebellion was over.

And then the kiss, and then Cress punched her and Ellie suddenly felt as if she were back in school, where there was one boy who kept asking her out and wouldn't take no for an answer and Cress came to the rescue in all her might. It made Ellie feel warm even though she knew the knight didn't really mean anything by it. "Thank you, Cress, but - um - um, it's fine. She's harmless." Ellie held Cress's arm, afraid Heron would be angered but she just laughed and rubbed at her face with good cheer. "She's not like Itward. She's not like her brother." The Knight's face went sour and she groaned. "Ugh, this is the girl's room, don't even mention his name! He's trash swine. Bastard." And Ellie knew she was thinking about Nio.

And then Shiro came in, and the first thing Narcia noticed was the different collar. She would have to disable the listening device again once she got a chance. Then she saw the dress and the diaper and so she stood and shielded the blonde from Heron's leering gaze. "Hello, Shiro. It's good to see you." And then Shiro reminded her of the tutoring and knew Corren was likely already there waiting. "Thank you." The princess turned back to her cousin and her knight. "I'll come again later. Take care, Cress. Heron, don't tease her too much." The knight did her own usual joking comment as she left the room and Ellie kept hold of Shiro, ruffling her hair, hoping the kiss wasn't - wasn't - and then they returned to her room, her tutor giving her a sour stare.

"You're late. As a Princess, you should always be punctual." He said glumly, the material already prepared for this round of lessons. Ellie made an apology and then turned to Shiro. "Shiro, go change into something longer if you wish. Princess's orders." Something must have happened, bladder-related, but she couldn't ask, not with Archon here. Then with a groan she sat down, burying herself in the books once again, knowing she'd need to know all of this for when she ruled.

❝We'll break the night, and burn the pigs!❞

【ɗιαƖσgΟ…Ρ” cσƖσя:#30b818 β™™ тнσυgΠ½Ρ‚ cσƖσя #d1ca00】

|| Hope of Morning || Icon for Hire ||

Aya floated through the halls with a determined expression. She had to find Cress, she had to get to Cress and escape with her. Why was the knight at Serpy's place? Was Serpy even alive anymore? Did the knight have something to do with Cress, was Cress being tortured and she was forced to reveal Serpy as an ally? Aya didn't like that idea, she hated it, so she kept wandering, trying to find any sign of Cress, any possible hint of where she could be held. She didn't recognize the nobles that were hurting Mia, but she knew the palace was a place where Cress wasn't safe, not with Queen Nirana on the prowl.

"I need to find her." The girl whispered to herself as she searched through the corridors full of fanciness that could've been sold for money and food to feed and clothe a whole bunch of Rubbles. It was so wasteful that decorations and stuff were seen as more important than lives. Once the rebels won, once Daddy and Xion and Cress and everyone beat the Queen and all the other pigs, it'd all be worth it, wouldn't it? Cress said something about dungeons, so Aya knew that she had to find her way there. One servant stopped and gave her a strange look so Aya did her best bow, whimpering a little as it put more pressure on her special spot. "Um, um, I'm looking for the dungeons. I'm under Cherubim orders." And the servant nodded, giving her directions but still looking suspicious and questioning.

Aya knew not to reveal the Archon as her helper, and the more trouble she got Itward in the better. Maybe they could save Nio too, and give her her voice ... wait! The girl dug through her memories of the first book, the medical book. Was he researching a way to give her her voice back? Was that what Corren was doing? If so, then he was another one of the good nobles, right? He was, he had to be! Aya was going to be nicer to him, then, if he was a good guy.

She rounded another corner, heading closer to the dungeons but then she heard a voice directly behind her, a voice that made every hair on her hair prickle in fear. "How curious it is to see you here, Aine." The Queen had her razor sharp grin. "Come here, girl. A noblewoman like you shouldn't be collared and dressed like a servant. I'll give you appropriate wear." Aya shivered, terrified, squeaking. This wasn't good at all, was it? The Queen already had Cress, and now she was going to have her, wasn't she? Aya trembled. "....I-it's nice to see you, too. I'm, um..." Her mind froze and she couldn't think up a lie fast enough, so she trailed off into silence.

"Yeah and so what?" Cress glowered, then suddenly grinned. "Don't us earthlings have a history of being far too stubborn?" She needed Ellie to understand that she wasn't just going to go away. "Auntie will be sad if you don't come back, Mom too. You might have this whole destiny planned out in your mind, but you built a bridge and came to us and now... I'll cross over it too if that's what it takes!" Heron clapped, as though it were a truly moving speech and Cress tried not to laugh. She always hated being serious and Ellie always took everything too seriously. Why didn't Ellie understand? Or maybe she was just being stubborn like always, insisting that it was better to be hurt than to hurt others. "If we succeed and you become Queen then I'll still be here, I'll be your right and left hand until you can come home." Neither girl knew it, but time passed faster on Ourania. Where it had been nearly two weeks for them, only five earth days had passed. The police had been called, there was an ongoing search for the girls who disappeared without a trace.

"You're related to Itward?" Cress raised an eyebrow and Heron didn't seem pleased so she left it alone, figuring that explained for Heron's tendency to kiss others against their will. At least she wasn't mutilating their sensitive spots or anything of the sort. Besides, it was just kissing, it wasn't exactly a big deal. Cress did it occasionally at home, sometimes to tease, sometimes because people meant something to her. When Shiro came and left with the Princess, Cress waved bye. "Don't worry Ellie, I'll save you from this fate. We'll build another bridge."

Then there were two, only Cress and Heron. When Heron wasn't looking, Cress reached over for something on the counter and fell off the bed, cursing. "Shoot," Heron said as blood seeped through the bandage on her leg. "You tore the stitches," she smiled, that evil gleam that made Cress's heart pound with worry returning. "I guess you'll just have to be my prisoner for another night." She set the collar for another twenty four hour period and Cress groaned. "I have to get back to Aya." Heron patted her head, lifting her onto the bed and preparing to fix the stitches. "Don't worry, I delivered the message so she'll know you're safe." Cress watched as she worked, cleaning and restitching with short, practiced movements. "I don't think you're really from earth." Heron mumbled and Cress narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean?"

"I had to take earthen studies when I was in training as a knight, all knights have to just in case earth finds out about our existence." She scratched her hair and sat Cress up once it was done. "Your eyes," she touched Cress's cheek. "Aren't a trait that runs in earthen blood lines, even a mutation wouldn't cause it." Cress thought back, it was true she looked nothing like her family. "On Ourania it happens, although it's rare. The Dorones were famous for it, they were the fire to the royal family's ice." Cress felt like she couldn't breath. Serpina Dorones had no wife, he thought his daughter to be dead. "You're lying, that's a cruel trick to play." Cress hissed. "Aine is dead, Itward killed her."

"They never found a body. I'm sure Serpina's realized it by now." She thought back how whenever Serpina looked at her, there was pain in his eyes. "But Aine was blonde." She pointed out and Heron shrugged. "I suppose there goes that theory." Cress was breathing hard, the collar seemed to pick this up and sent a zap that made her yelp and jump. Heron put a hand over Cress's mouth, steadying her. "Usually when girls make that sound in my room it's because they're having fun." She laughed and Cress punched her in the shoulder. "There were rumors of a second Princess though. One that was the exact opposite of Ellie. She was younger so the Queen had no use for her and was going to kill her but she supposedly died at birth."

Shiro was so glad that the Princess didn't mind her being there, interrupting whatever it was she was doing with a knight and a servant. No, Shiro's mind would not go there, not after the kiss. The Princess couldn't just go around kissing anyone though! Shiro would have to protect the Princess better. If anyone ever found out that the Princess was sneaking around to the Knight's Corridors there would be a lot of fury, most likely on Itward's part considering he was to marry Nee. Shiro followed the Princess back, padding along silently behind her. "I didn't know the Princess was into that sort of thing," someone behind them snickered and Shiro pulled down on the dress, her cheeks turning pink. She wanted to protest and say it was the Queen that had done this but she couldn't speak out unless spoken to.

Finally, they were back in the Princess's room and Shiro noticed that the fake Aine was gone. The Princess settled at her desk and Shiro put up some tea for both the Princess and Archon. Then Nee told Shiro that if she should want to she could go change. "Thank you Princess!" Shiro took that as her cue to leave and curtsied, then scurried off to go and change. She was walking down the hall when she spotted two people, the Queen and the fake Aine. Shiro's heart seized in her chest and she took a step back around the corner, listening carefully. Her heart raced and Shiro sprinted over, panting and going into a curtsy. "Excuse me my Queen." Shiro said, knowing that she was exposed again.

"What is it Shiro? Can't you see I'm busy?"

"The Princess and Aine were doing some sort of history class that involved the reenactment of the slave rebellion, naturally Aine took the part of the slave since the Princess is to dignified to play such a role." She explained hastily, hoping that the Queen wouldn't catch the lie, that Shiro would have appeared so breathless and out of sorts that the collar wouldn't give anything away. The Queen sighed and shook her head, "Why didn't you say so Aine? Why did you leave?"

"She wanted to make tea even though I insisted it's my job." Shiro stood, avoiding eye contact and looking at the floor as a servant was supposed to do. "Very well, I have a meeting I must attend to." Then she knelt down whispering in Shiro's ear, "Big girls don't cry over little things." Shiro hadn't realized there were tears in her eyes until the Queen pointed them out. Quickly Shiro wiped them away and curtsied until the Queen and her lady in waiting passed them. "This way, quickly." Shiro took Aine's hand and led the girl to her bedroom. It wasn't big and glorious like the Princess's, but it was bigger than the home of a rubble. "Please, sit down." Shiro pulled out the chair by her vanity and then took a seat on her bed. She had a bit of time to spare considering the Princess was at a lesson and Shiro had yet to change out of the dress the Queen put her in.

|| Secret ~Black Vow~ || Rin/Len (cover by SirHammet) ||

It wasn't as if she didn't know her earth family was going to miss her. Ellie missed them terribly, she missed the warmth of that home, she missed the nature and the love that was all but absent in Ourania. Cress, even if Cress wanted to stay and be her right hand, even if Ellie secretly liked that idea, deep down would love to have someone from earth remain to prove that those years existed, she couldn't. She couldn't just tear Cress away from everything she's ever known, into a strange world she never should've had to go to. And to make matters worse, Narcia insisted that Cress coming here was fate, that it was destiny. Narcia knew Cress had a part to play, a role that only she could fulfill. A spark to start the fires of revolution, to melt away the ice and bring about equality. Ellie wasn't sure what she thought of that. Every fire could eventually burn out, right?

Once in her room, with Shiro running off to change. "The topic for today is the most recent slave rebellion." Corren said, eyeing Narcia carefully, trying to test her reactions. This was a topic of great interest for both Ellie and Narcia - they both wanted to know what happened in the time she was on earth, to know what had changed. But Ellie was confused, the papers in front of her all spoke of something different, just more economics - but then she knew. Corren was doing something. "Interesting. Begin the lecture, tutor." Was this his way to show support for the cause, or was he playing at something else entirely?

So began the lecture. And as expected, it began with Aine, as did everything. Aine's legacy was what would start everything, this slow slide of rebellion. Ellie wanted to press her security module but apparently Corren had already done so, so there was no risk of being overheard. This was before Serpina Dorones's sudden change in personality. Aine was taken for ransom by the first wave of rebels as a young child where she saw how badly they lived and how harsh their lives were, she decided to ally with them. Her charm and charisma and wit allowed her to gather allies and support - befriending the then head of the Archon family as well as the head of the Cherubim family. She befriended Xion and was behind the first attack on the Untouchable Tier, resulting in Narcia being sent to Earth. The rebellion lost, with Xion's family being put up as scapegoats and killed.

So Aine waited, biding her time as the Queen grew crueler and crueler with the temporary loss of her daughter, making Aine grow hasty and paranoid, more determined to fix things. It was then that Itward made his move, allying with the Seraphim family, unknowing of his father's role in the attack. Two years after the first attack, there were two incidents: many servants within the castle rose up and attacked, forcing the King and Queen out of the palace where private militaries of several noble houses attacked, trying to kill off the Seraphim family. Itward and Heron Cherubim lead the defense of the royal family, the King becoming badly injured, but the Archon and Cherubim family heads were killed, a few other noble houses were completely wiped out and turned into new servants, Xion fled to the Tower Tier, and Aine was captured and given to Itward, with Heron as his right hand in the battle.

Then Itward's stratagems began. All the families that were found helping Aine in her second attempt were in trouble, so Itward had his sisters married off one by one, to gain their support and loyalty. Paranoia and hatred grew in his mind with the absence of his father, knowing the Seraphim were to blame, and his mental condition degraded further with Heron's betrayal and splitting off from the family. Although the Seraphim still rule, the Cherubim now held a lot of influence. As a side effect, the once powerful Dorones had grown weaker and Serpina seemed to have a change of heart, releasing his servants and taking in volunteers instead.

Once the info dump was complete, Ellie had a grim expression. Corren stood up, packing the papers and textbooks. "Your homework assignment, Princess, is to point out where Aine's plan went wrong, and what she could have done to win. I expect you to have found the answer when I come tomorrow." And with that, her tutor left, and Ellie was stuck wondering exactly what he was doing? Something this wasn't something a neutral party would do... right?

Aya felt sick, she didn't know what to do. She was going to be hurt and made into a servant for real, not like Archon, but she'd be hurt and have a chip and she could never go and see her Daddy again, could she? She was going to be made into a gift for Itward and then - and then - but Aya was scared, she wanted to cry, she didn't know how to save herself from the Queen's leering stare. If this was it, if this was how it was going to go, she was going to be strong like Cress, she was going to fight. So her hand went to her wrist, to her concealed Gravity Drive and then something strange happened. Shiro, Narcia's lady in waiting had come and then she spoke to Queen Nirana, making up lies to try and save her. Aya wanted to tell her no, to make her not do it, that she had it under control but she couldn't bring up the strength to speak and she felt bad. Once again she had to be protected by someone, this time the tiny servant girl.

She was a rebel, wasn't she? She was Cress's teammate, and yet she couldn't, she failed to help save Cress again. The taller blonde wanted to cry, she didn't want to be this weak, Shiro, her savior in diapers was terrified and yet she managed to lie and be strong anyways. So Aya's hand was taken by Shiro and she was led through the halls into what seemed to be Shiro's room, still much fancier than anything Aya was used to back in the Rubble tier, though she knew this luxury was at a heavy price. This tiny girl probably never knew freedom, did she?

"Thank you, Shiro!" Aya collapsed in relief, hugging the smaller girl once it was safe and then she sat down in the chair - complete with a very soft cushion on the seat that made her bottom feel nice even though it was healing up. "You saved me!" Then Aya remembered, she had to be Aine now, she had to pretend, so she moved her hair to try and hide her servant collar. "Aine Dorones gives you her thanks!"

But Aya knew there was still something she had to do, but as she was, it was impossible. Her mission was to find and get Cress out of here, whatever it took. They were a team, after all! So Aya leaned in closer to the girl, still seated in the super chair. "Have you seen a girl with really fiery eyes? She's - she's my half sister, Auna!" Aya didn't want to lie but she had to, didn't she? "She was at the ball, and is friends with the princess! Do you know where she is? Ay- Aine wants to talk to her." Maybe, maybe she wasn't being hurt yet, maybe there was still something Aya could do to help her.

"That can't be," Shiro shook her head, not wanting to believe it. She had come from earth, her mother had pictures of her as a baby! She grew up exploring nature with her dad, the dad whose face becoming a vague shadow as every day passed. She tried to understand him through his love of nature, but every day he seemed more like a distant dream and it killed her. Could it be possible that the King was her father? That, that wicked witch of a Queen was her mother. It didn't seem fair, Cress didn't want that connection, she didn't want to be related to that venomous woman who sunk her claws into servants and turned them into her playthings. What if the Queen had known? Would she have still tortured her and sent her away to be Itward's concubine? Would she lock her away and try to teach her to be a Princess like Ellie?

The thought made her shake. "Hey," Heron hugged her but Cress couldn't speak. She felt some sort of crippling pain that kept her jaw shut. What if it was worse? What if the Queen had known the whole time and didn't care? What if she had really wanted Cress, her possible daughter, dead? "Oy, speak to me!" Heron slapped her cheek gently, trying to get Cress to come back. Cress had never felt like this, this overwhelming sensation of dread closing in on her and making her feel like she couldn't breathe. "Cress! Get a hold of yourself!" She punched her hard under the chin and Cress's head flew back. She bit down hard on her tongue, the coppery taste of blood flowing into her mouth. "Ow, what'd you did that for!" Cress yelled, propping herself up on her elbows. "Because you wouldn't answer me!"

Heron calmed and helped Cress sit up again. "Here, let me take care of that," and then Heron was kissing her again, sucking off the blood from her tongue. Cress pushed her away, "I can take care of it myself." She muttered, wiping her mouth with the back of her arm. Heron grinned, "A fine job you've done taking care of yourself so far." She laughed and pat Cress's head. "I'm gonna go get us some lunch," Cress muttered something along the lines of, "Yeah whatever." And watched the Knight leave. Cress sighed and lay on the bed, pulling the blanket over her head as she waited. The door opened and Cress sat up, expecting it to be Heron. "Back already?" She asked and sat up, then blushed furiously as she realized it wasn't Heron at all, but a boy, one of the Knights.

"Um, sorry. Wrong room," he started and fumbled. "This is Heron's room if that's who you're looking for." She replied, thankful that her collar was hidden by the shirt she was wearing. "She just went to get lunch she'll be-" She winced cursing, feeling a sudden pain. He stepped forward, steadying Cress so that she could lie down again. "Are you alright?" He asked, his eyes an innocent green. "Yeah, fine." Cress lied despite the pain. She would have to ask Heron for more of that tea. "Can you not move your legs?"

"I'm crippled," Cress replied since it was technically the current truth. "Oh," he went silent. "I didn't know Heron was into that sort of thing...." She noticed the sneaky smile and Cress blushed. "It's not what you think! I'm her niece," she lied and somehow, lying came easy, as though she had done it her whole life. He laughed again, "Not with those eyes you're not." What was with these people? "So, care to tell me who you really are and what you're doing sleeping in Heron's bed?"

"Leave her alone Finnley." Heron warned, holding the tray in one hand and her sword in another. "I was just poking fun," he stood, waggling his eyebrows. "I knew you were into girls, but I didn't think you were into crippled girls." Heron grinned, putting the tray down. "I already told you, I'm the savior of cute girls everywhere!" she hugged Cress to her, grinning madly. Cress brushed her off. "Anyways Finnely, what are you doing in here?"

"I figured I'd ask you to lunch but I see you've already found a date." Heron nodded as though this made sense. "Wait, don't get the wrong idea-" Cress tried but Heron cut her off. "Well you can join us if you'd like, but you've got to get your own food. I only brought enough for us." He smiled again, saying that it was a deal and running off to get his lunch. A scene from a movie popped into Cress's head and all she could think was, 'you can't sit with us.'

Shiro smiled, "I know the Queen can be scary, but she's really nice!" The training was evident in that moment as well as the signs of obvious abuse by the Queen. Shiro frowned, but she was not allowed to make any comments on the happenings of noble woman and if this girl was who Serpina picked to replace Aine then Shiro had no place to say anything. She had much respect for Serpina Dorones and no doubt he missed his daughter after her death and the death of his wife. Shiro reached forward and unstrapped the collar, allowing it to fall into her hands. "I can lend you a dress if you'd like?" Shiro stood and went to the closet, her diaper showing again. She wiggled out of the dress, revealing some sort of weird belt around it with a lock so she couldn't take it off. The Queen had the key naturally.

Shiro changed into a dress that was floor length, appropriate for the lady in waiting and went back to sit across from Aine. "A girl with fiery eyes?" Shiro tried to recall, thinking back and shaking her head. "I saw one leaving earlier," Shiro didn't realize that Aya was looking for a girl with actual red eyes, she thought she may have just been looking for someone that was really passionate. Shiro hadn't recognized Cress as Auna due to the disguise she had been wearing last time, she had simply thought it was a servant Heron had taken for herself. Shiro tried to think though, who else could have fiery eyes? There weren't any servants like that, except maybe the new ones that hadn't yet gone through training.

"At the ball with fiery eyes." Shiro tapped a finger to her chin thoughtfully and shook her head. "I'm sorry, I can't recall seeing Auna anywhere. The last time I saw her she was leaving the castle. If you'd like I could take you back to Archon?" There was a knock at the door, Archon poked his head inside. "I figured you might have been in here. Come along," he said to the blonde and Shiro tipped her head to the side curiously. "I have to return to my Princess's side, but it was nice talking to you." Shiro smiled. For a moment her thoughts dipped away and she wondered what it must have been like to be free, to travel through the tiers as you wished with no fear of consequence.

|| Secret ~Black Vow~ || Rin/Len (cover by SirHammet) ||

What was Aine's mistake that lead to her death? Ellie pondered this question, turning it over in her head many many times. She knew Corren was trying to help her look at history, to look at the failed rebellion and to try to do right what Aine failed to, to fix what she couldn't. Learning from history's mistakes to forge a path to a better, brighter future. What was Aine's flaw? The princess had no idea, but she knew this was important. Before she made her move, she had to figure this out somehow. Unfortunately, Ellie knew that her position currently was weaker than Aine's was when she was at her height. If she played her cards and made her move, it would definitely fail. More allies, Ellie needed more support and power. She needed to gain Heron and Corren to firmly join her side, and maybe even reluctantly work with Itward if she wanted to take out Queen Nirana.

Before she could puzzle through it further, her phone sounded. Ellie picked it up - Serpina Dorones. His voice was full of worry and panic, no doubt for Cress - but what she didn't expect was for the fake Aine to be missing as well. "They vanished, Narcia." Serpina's eyes were pointed and he was afraid, terribly afraid. "What's happening? Heron came and said Cress would be returning soon, but all that's left of Aya is her bike! Please tell me you know something!" A little pang of worry for the little blonde was in her chest, the one she gave to Itward, but she had no idea where she could be whatsoever. Ellie did explain Cress's situation, which helped abate the panic a little. "I'll keep an ear out for Aya." Ellie promised and closed the call.

And then Shiro returned, wearing something to obscure the diaper, a long flowing dress that reached the floor. Ellie smiled at her as the door closed and before she could do anything else, she once again pressed the button to short out the listening device on Shiro's collar so they could speak freely. "Hello. I hope you're feeling better, Shiro." With some hesitation she patted her head and then decided to get to work, this time upgrading the security module with the supplies she had left. It didn't take long - upgrading was easier than making something from scratch - and now she had something that replaced any noise gathered from listening devices with garbage data. This method was safer overall, since there was less risk of doing damage to the extraneous tech that might cause problems with the collars. There was a bit of loneliness in the girl's eyes as she returned to the bed, missing Cress - she'd missed Shiro dearly as well. "Did you enjoy your time off? I can give you more whenever you wish for it, Shiro."

Narcia was back to being slightly distant with the girl, even though she wanted to try and be friendly as before. Honestly, both halves of the princess was ashamed at forcing a kiss on her and still didn't know how to face her for it.

Aya was unsure how she felt about the collar leaving her, though she smiled a little as little Shiro removed it. While it was a sign of servitude, it was also what allowed Corren to protect her, right? She also didn't know what to make of this - how could anyone believe that the Queen was a kind person? How delusional and messed up were these people? Nice people were people like Daddy, who loves and protected her, not like the Queen, who only hurt and stomped on everyone around her. Evil noble, the worst of them all. "Thank you." Aya said, trying to be formal and as Aine-ish as she could. She walked to the dress, eyes drawn to the belt that was locked onto the servant girl, keeping the diaper in place. "I'll return it once I can."

A girl with fiery eyes was leaving earlier. Leaving? Was Cress safe then, maybe, or was she being given to Itward again? The girl didn't know, but she didn't want Cress to get hurt. She wanted to find her, to get her and save her but she didn't know what to do. Aya wasn't a hero, she wasn't cool like Cress was, strong like Cress was. So the girl didn't see Auna - Cress, either. "It's okay, Shiro. Thank you for the help." And then Archon came in, not surprised at Aya in a dress and the lack of a collar and then Aya waved a goodbye to the servant and followed after the sandy-haired man's footsteps.

"Sorry, did you find the Princess?" Aya asked and Archon nodded curtly. He was really a stuffy person, huh? He didn't react to many things at all - always having an attitude as if he knew everything before it happened, but something like that was silly, right? Nothing seemed to surprise him and Aya had a strange feeling Corren was planning something in his head, but she couldn't possibly know what. "Thank you for teaching me to read! I'll be very good at it!" She tried to be bubbly and friendly like with Cress but she missed her bike, she missed her cool friend.

"I have many things for us to read." He said as they re-entered the Archon Estate, going directly into his room. As Aya saw the piles of books shoved in front of her, the girl wondered if it was possible to die of too many words. He guided her through it, some book about medicinal herbs and things like that but the long sciency names of each thing confused her. But for some reason, Corren was nice and patient and helped her through it, treating her like a child, praising her each time she did it right, and lightly scolding each time she messed up. Still, even though she liked learning to read, Aya still wanted Cress. Where was she? Was she being hurt again?

"So who is she really?" Finnely asked as he sat down. Cress was on the bed, facing them and Heron was beside her, feeding her even though Cress insisted for the millionth time that she could do it herself. "My servant," Heron smiled, "Although all she's really good for is getting into fights." Cress glowered, "She tried to take on five nobles by herself." Heron pat Cress's head affectionately. "I thought you said you were crippled?" Finnely asked curiously, quirking a brow. "Well she is now as her punishment." Cress scoffed and Heron elbowed her, causing Cress to fell over since she couldn't balance herself. She nearly fell on top of Finnley. "Whoa girl, I know Finnley's a womanizer but he's betrothed." Heron laughed, straightening the fiery eyed girl. "I already told you what happened!" Cress snapped, feeling her cheeks heating up. She sighed and crossed her arms, recounting the tale. "I couldn't just let them beat this poor girl up, especially since her only punishment was being born in the wrong tier."

"I think you were too, you should be a knight!" He laughed and Heron hit him on the head with her sheathed sword. His laugh turned into a groan as his fingers touched the sore spot. "Cress would be a terrible knight! She's much better suited to serve me." Finnely shook his head, drinking the tea he had made. "Yes, she'd probably have a much better life style with a Master that spoils her rather than having to be on the front lines." Cress blushed again, disliking how they talked about her rather than to her. "I'm right here," she grumbled as Heron spooned a piece of cake and held it out to her. Cress opened her mouth and closed down on the spoon, trying the weird confection that had a pulled sugar spider on top. "What is this? It's delicious." Cress licked her lips, wanting more. Heron was glad to feed it to her. "It's called spider cake and it's made of a special powder they find in the outer reaches. No one's allowed to leave Ashia Palace but there's a select group of servants that are there that harvest it and send it here for us to enjoy."

"You say it like she doesn't know already." Finnley rolled his eyes and took a bite from his spider cake. "It's because she's been very sheltered," Heron said as though it was a tragedy. Finnley abruptly stood up, pulling out a knife and cutting the bandages on Cress's hand. "What are you doing!" She screamed, pulling away but it was too late, the symbol of the Queen was revealed. "Want to tell me what's really going on?" He asked with narrowed eyes. Cress looked away, her lips pressed tightly together. "I'm from earth," she admitted. Heron hissed, as though Cress shouldn't have just outright said it. Finnley's eyes lit up and he took Cress's hands in his, pulling her towards him. "Tell me more, tell me everything you know about it!"

"Finnley here has an obsession with earth." Heron laughed dryly and slapped his hands away. "You can look, but don't touch." She got up to go get some more bandages and Cress took the opportunity to feed herself the rest of the cake. "Alright, but I'm only gonna tell you once so you'd better listen." Cress proceeded to explain things to him, the good, the bad, the beautiful trees and the endless sky that you couldn't see stars through during the daytime and how they shone at night, incomparable to any other solar system.

Shiro could feel Aine's eyes looking at it and she tried to not feel self conscious. "You can keep it for as long as you need," Shiro replied with a smile. She watched Aine leave with Archon and wondered if they were meant to be betrothed and that's why they were together. That didn't explain the collar though, which Archon had taken with him. Shiro went to the Princess's room and stood beside her. "Yes Princess, I'm feeling much better thank you for your concern." Shiro curtsied, feeling much better in a dress that concealed everything, including the slight signs of abuse on her waist from the servants forcing her into her new body wear.

Shiro had to go to the bathroom terribly but she tried to hold it the best she could. If she went, she wouldn't be a big girl anymore. She remained composed despite the pain in her bladder, her smile and posture perfect. "There's no need for that, I had so much time I didn't even know what to do with it." She had taken a bath and after that had ended up in the sick bay for a broken collar. "My collar broke though, so I ended up in the sick bay until they could fix it." She didn't say anything about the punishment, about the humiliation of warm yellow liquid flowing between her legs.

Shiro could tell that the Princess was being a bit distant, but she didn't know why. "I'll fetch your dinner," Shiro said and to the door to pick up the tray. "Please excuse the unusual timing." Shiro placed the tray on the table, her bladder quivering. No, she couldn't, not here at least, not when she was working. She set out the lunch and prepared tea, the sound of water making her put the teapot down. "Your dinner is ready Princess."

Finnely, who at this point she simply thought of as Finn, seemed in awe. He swore not to tell a soul that she was there and Cress smiled, trusting him for now. Heron chased him out afterwards, saying it was time for Cress's bath and Finn jokingly asked if he could help to with Heron hit him over the head with a sword again. "I can do it myself," Cress murmured as Heron undressed her and ran the bath, carrying Cress to it and letting her soak inside. She propped one of Cress's legs up though so that the girl didn't have the water sinking into her wound. "You keep saying that, but you're like a little kid the way you keep letting me." Heron laughed and Cress used her hands to push her away. "Don't watch!" She covered her hands over her chest, "It's embarrassing." So Heron left and Cress washed herself, scrubbing her hair and body, washing away the blood from the cuts.

When a good amount of time had passed and the water was growing cold Heron came and lifted her out, drying Cress and redressing her. "Do these have to be so lacy?" Cress asked and Heron laughed, "my room, my rules. Remember? Besides, you look cuter in them." Cress blushed again, knowing that tomorrow night she would be free. Tomorrow night she would get to go back to Aya and Serpina and come up with a plan for the rebellion. No doubt Aya was getting incredibly worried and Cress felt guilty. "Say, is there anyway to send a message to someone with a gravity drive?" Heron shook her head, "No, but I can find her citizen ID number and then we can send her a message through the holo." Heron pulled out a laptop, "It's a knight's job to protect Ashia Palace. What's her name?"

"Aya, I don't have a last name."

"That's alright, do you have a description?" Cress described Aya the best she could and Heron typed it in, the two scrolling through dozens of pictures until they found the one that matched Aya. "That's her!" Cress shouted and they stopped. "I've got her holo number, I'll dial it for you." Heron handed the holo to her and Cress eagerly waited for her to pick up, but it didn't, it went to voice mail. "Hey Aya," Cress smiled, clear relief in her eyes. "I'm okay, listen, you need to get back to Xion in the Tower Tier. Take that rubble with you too, I'll meet you there as soon as I can. Alright? I'll see you soon, I promise." Cress turned the holo off and handed Heron's phone back to her. "Thanks, that was a great help."

"You're with the rebellion?" Heron asked and Cress nodded her head. She hadn't realized Xion was a well known figure. "Yeah, how else am I supposed to bring Ellie home?" Heron looked pained, she rubbed the bridge of her nose and pushed something on Cress's collar. "I'm sorry, you need to leave." The feeling in Cress's legs returned as well as the pain. "Thank you Heron-"

"Go!" She pushed Cress out and the girl stumbled down the hall, wearing nothing but panties and one of Heron's shirts. She limped her way towards where she thought the exit was and realized she had no idea where she was going. Cress hissed in pain, leaning against a wall and panting from exertion. "What are you doing here miss?" A servant stood before her. "You were delivered to Itward's if my memory serves correctly." Fear crept down Cress's spine and she felt a shock from her collar. "No, you have to let me go I-"

"The Queen won't be happy to see you here." Cress cried out in agony, begging to be let go. Her screams of pain made Knights open their doors, looking outside and murmuring at what they believed was a servant being disciplined. "Gah!" Cress cried out, ripping the collar off. She stood while she could, knowing the chip in her back wasn't going to be too happy, and leaped onto the servant, grabbing at their collar, feral. A knight grabbed Cress, putting her in a chokehold as the servant panted, standing and putting Cress's collar back on. Cress tried to find Heron, but realized with sinking clarity that she wasn't there. Heron wouldn't be back to help her this time.

When Cress awoke she was back in the Cherubim household, Nio attending to the burn marks. Cress tried to talk but her voice felt weird, as though it weren't there at all. Nio shook her head looking sad and pointed to the collar. Cress wiggled, trying to take it off, but she couldn't move. She would get herself out of this, Cress wasn't going to be hurt by him again.

Shiro shook her head, "It's fine Princess." Shiro was shaking at this point. She remained calm though, sitting across from the Princess and eating with her like the Princess had ordered her to last week. She couldn't hold it in any longer, Shiro thought she was about to burst. She felt a tiny trickle, no, she couldn't. If she peed the Queen would know, she would make Shiro wear another one so she had to hold it in, she had to prove that she was a big girl so that she could continue to serve Princess Nee. Shiro was glad that the Princess didn't mind the timing, she was happy for the praise.

Then the Princess grabbed her and took her outside, flying. "I'm sorry!" Shiro mewled in pain, releasing her bladder. Shiro felt so bad, she didn't want to do this in front of the Princess. Thankfully the wind kept it soundless and the diaper stored it. "I-I had to pee, but the Queen said if I didn't hold it in until she unlocked it I wouldn't get to wear panties again." Shiro whimpered, "When my collar malfunctioned it sent a shock and I couldn't hold it in so I peed on the bed and she said unless I stopped acting like a little girl she would make me wear trainers." Shiro was terribly embarrassed to tell the Princess this.

"But I couldn't hold it," she felt as though she let the Princess down. "I guess I really am a little girl. I'm sorry Princess," she wasn't befitting to serve royalty. "Please punish me as you see fit."

Ellie glared hard at Shiro, finding breathing difficult as she digested the information. Maybe seeing Cress had done it, but she had a rare fire in her eyes that burned with anger. Her grip on Shiro tightened as the two flew above the palace, as the rippling wings raged past them, reflecting the fury in Ellie that was usually encased in ice and carefully stowed away. This was too far, the Queen was unacceptable, further hurting Shiro while convincing the poor girl that she deserved it. Normally, Ellie prided on her ability to keep a level head but perhaps the strain was too much. "Listen to each word carefully, Shiro. And these are my absolute orders." Ellie's voice, despite her fire, were colder than dry ice, each word sending chills down her own spine. "I order you to whole-heartedly believe everything I am about to say." She gave Shiro a hard stare before she started.

"Anyone would pee if their bladder was full and they were electrocuted. I would have peed. The Queen would have peed. It's a biological function due to how your body reacts when shocked. Anyone. Would. Have. Urinated. Therefore, it is not your fault." She shook the girl in the air, trying to get her to understand, to make her see sense for once, even if it was impossible, even if she was already too broken. "You're an innocent victim, and you deserve none of what my mother does to you. And I will save you, I'll save everyone. Believe it, Shiro." There was a clear threat in her voice that scared Ellie and she wasn't sure if it was actually Narcia speaking or not. "If you ever blame yourself for any of this again, I'll take it as proof that you value the Queen's word over mine. And that you couldn't care less about me. Do you understand? Are are you too broken to comprehend?"

Maybe a little roughly, Ellie returned Shiro to her room and tossed her onto the bed. "Don't. Move." She ordered and then she hiked the dress up to find the belt locking the diaper in place. She examined it then went to her electric knife, squeezing the hilt to generate electricity to heat up the blade. Once the tip glowed orange, Ellie shut off the electric current and touched the tip, yelping in pain as her finger burned and blistered. She then cut through the belt with the knife, melting through the belt like butter, tossing the diaper into the trash. Not even bothering to look, the princess wiped Shiro clean. "Get dressed." She commanded.

"Hello, Aine." The voice Aya never wanted to hear again and she couldn't even cry or scream because of the silence pill. Corren had an expression she'd never seen before - an apologetic, almost helpless expression yet he did nothing to try and fight against Itward. No one could, it was impossible, it was hopeless and when Itward caressed her leg and told Corren to enter, he did so as obediently as a dog. The door was shut behind them and Aya felt pain ripple through her as her catheter filled with a yellow liquid - the fear from being seen by Itward again was too much and she tried to struggle against the cuffs but she couldn't. "How curious that you've found this girl, Corren." Itward glanced at his brother with a voracious smirk. "I want to see the marks."

So he tore the dress off, making sure to touch the girl as much as he could, only to find the residual bruises from his session with her, as well as the special spot being treated with the weird cast-pad thing and the tube thing, filled with pee. Aya wanted to cry, she wanted to beg the nicer noble for help but she knew he wouldn't do anything, because she was just a Rubble and nobles always helped each other first. Serpy was the only one who was nice. "She's not Aine." Corren's voice was quiet but Aya saw the way his fist was tightly clenched. "Aine's dead. You already killed her." And Itward shook his head, a manic grin. "No, she's Aine. She's definitely Aine."

And then the phone built into her gravity drive activated. A message. Itward slid the bracelet off of her tiny wrist and Cress's voice echoed through, making his smile grow wider. "See? She's definitely Aine. She's working with Xion." Itward then moved aside, pushing Corren forward, closer to the now naked Aya who shivered and tried to close her eyes, wishing she could at least scream or beg or anything. "Punish her, brother. Make it hurt." Corren stared at Itward but then thought better of it, turning to face the girl who had gone limp, knowing to simply accept her fate. "Pull out the catheter, and then touch her. She's small - just your type, right?"

But Corren hesitated, his hand was shaking and the head of the Cherubim family laughed and then smiled. "Want me to show you how it's done? I'd be glad to do it again." And then Corren Archon mouthed an apology but his eyes knew he wouldn't be forgiven and then he ripped the catheter out, balloon deflated and Aya couldn't even cry because it hurt too much and she shivered, unable to even scream as terrible pain made its way through her. And then her teacher leaned in to touch her and kiss but he had somehow put a pill in his mouth and transferred it to Aya, letting it dissolve in her mouth. Aya felt dizzy and tired within seconds, twitching from the pain.

Itward's phone. The evil man picked up. "Oh, you found Cress?" He flashed a cruel smile in Aya's direction, the last thing she saw before drifting off, succumbing to the sleeping pill. "Time to have some fun at home, then."

Cress was shaking with rage, she continued to try an get out, her back arching, body wiggling. Nio tried to get her to calm down but Cress's rage was unquenchable. She was upset at herself, upset at Ellie, upset at Heron, upset at this whole damn planet except for Aya who was too pure for any rage to be directed at her. She struggled and tried to scream and push Nio away but Cress couldn't move. There was a knock at the door and Nio went to get it. It was a Doctor who pulled on a pair of gloves. "What Master Cherubim requested is finally ready." He injected Cress in the neck and the girl's body went limp. No, she didn't want more augmentations, she wanted to be human but as the injection began to work the fight left her body.

It wasn't for pain, there was nothing to stop the terrible sensation of the augmentations digging into her skin. The injection was so that her muscles would relax and she couldn't resist. She felt the metal digging into her, the blood trickling down her spine. She couldn't see what was done but the injection to connect the chip was put in last. Finally, Nio held up a mirror so Cress could see the rabbit ears and a little fluffy tail. Cress's nose was bleeding, which was a normal side effect of augmentation. Nio wiped it up and winced, jumping when the front door opened and slammed shut.

He was back, here to torture her again. Nio did something, she made Cress swallow a pill that reversed the effects and she could move again. So Cress struggled once more, this time on the ground as Nio changed the sheets of Itward's bed. Cress was desperate, she rolled against the dresser, pushing her arms up and down in a painful way to try and saw between the binds but it wasn't normal cloth; there were strips of thin, flexible metal digging into her skin. When Nio saw what she was trying to do the girl's eyes widened. Cress's collar went off and her back arched, this time in pain. Somehow, the tiny girl managed to get Cress back onto the bed. The shirt and underwear she had borrowed from Heron had been taken, leaving Cress in something that matched the augments. Nio put the stuff in a box to send back to Heron, giving it to a servant with written directions.

He was getting closer, Cress's heart pounded and she could hear it. She wanted it to stop, she wanted him to go away so that she had more time to escape. Nio shook her head sadly as Cress's collar went off again, ceasing her struggles for her. She was breathing hard, her heart slowly going back to its normal rate so that the collar would stop shocking her. Anymore and it could've risked giving Cress a heart attack.

Shiro felt so ashamed that she couldn't meet the Princess's eyes. She was shaking, no doubt Nee agreed with the Queen and thought Shiro was a little girl, no doubt she was wishing she had a lady in waiting that was more mature and fit to serve. She would probably send Shiro away and then Shiro would go do that terrible place that servants never returned from. She didn't want to go there, Shiro had heard so many terrible rumors and she was afraid that they'd be true. When the Princess's words reached her, Shiro's head snapped up. She braced herself for being dismissed. Maybe the Princess would simply let herself go from up here and she'd fall down through the tiers until her body was broken, landing in the water below. Just like Aine.

She listened of course, hanging onto Nee's every word. The Princess didn't need to order her to, Shiro was so glad, so glad that her shoulders slumped in relief. It was normal, she said; that meant Shiro wasn't a little girl, it meant that the Queen's punishment was unjustified. "I believe you Princess," Shiro said quietly. Her entire life had been spent believing that every punishment she deserved, that if she did something wrong she deserved it and if she tried to lie she would have to repent. She had spent her life cowering in fear of punishment, wanting to be praised like a dog that had fetched the paper for its owner. Shiro was no different, she was a dog primped to jump at her master's every word, to hang on to it like it was her salvation.

They were floating down now. Shiro held on tightly, although her grip was generally weak so it wasn't enough to hurt. She wasn't dead, she hadn't been let go of and thrown to the ground like the dead rebel. She was shaking with a sense of relief she had never felt before. There were tears in her eyes and Shiro threw her hands over her mouth to keep from making any sound. They were on the ground again and she was shaking so badly that she hid her hands in the folds of her dress. The Princess suddenly grabbed her, returning Shiro to her room and pushing her down onto the bed. Shiro whimpered when she was practically thrown onto the mattress. What was happening? She didn't understand.

Nee had some sort of tools that she used, burning her finger trying to make it work. "Princess!" Shiro tried to stop her, her face turning pink in shame. Then the belt was off and the Princess ripped the wet diaper off, leaving Shiro exposed on the bed. She wiped her down gently, then ordered Shiro to get dressed. Shiro sat up, rushing to her closet to grab a pair of panties and put her feet into them. "Princess, please let me take care of your wound!" She urged and sat the girl down on her bed to do her best to clean and wrap the burn. "Thank you." Shiro said quietly as she walked, a silent sort of gratitude in her expression.

"I was so scared you thought that I was a little girl and wouldn't befit your service. I didn't want to tell because I thought you'd dismiss me."

Ellie - or perhaps it was Narcia - was glad, incredibly glad that for once, Shiro seemed to understand. She only hoped that this enlightenment would last, that her tyrant of a mother wouldn't override this with something new, or that the old training was too ingrained to let this belief fade. Shiro was fragile beyond anything Ellie had ever seen; she couldn't just let her continue to be broken. It wasn't right, it wasn't right at all - but maybe this was the first step to fixing things. Save Shiro, save the world? If only such a thing were true.

Shiro was free from the horrid diaper at the very least and the first thing the girl did - after changing into underwear - was offer to clean the wound. "Thank you, Shiro." Ellie returned to her usual friendliness as she watched her friend treat the burn on her finger, cleaning it and wrapping it up. The girl let out a little sigh of relief - it was hurting a bit more than she'd like to admit. Shiro's touch was delicate and dainty as her finger was fixed up. And then Shiro explained her fears, her worries of dismissal so Ellie pulled the girl into a hug - a hug that Narcia, surprisingly, approved of, which made Ellie worry if these two halves were melting together into one consciousness - and patted the back of Shiro's head. "I won't ever dismiss you. And if anyone ever tells you that I did, that person is lying. So please don't ever be afraid of telling me anything."

And then something beeped on Ellie's phone - a sign that her camera picked up someone's movements. The princess pulled up the camera and she saw the Queen so Ellie rapidly pushed Shiro to the floor, placing her in a kneeling position just in time for Qheen Nirana to enter, looking smug as ever. "Daughter dear, this servant here is -" But Ellie interrupted her with her most pleasant icy smile. "Under my jurisdiction, I believe. I need the practice if I wish to one day take your place, mother." She was using Shiro as a footrest and guilt was rising inside of her despite the lie. "From now on, I'd like to be in charge of Shiro's punishments and other needs. I assume that won't be a problem?"

The way the Queen stared at her in chilly silence made Ellie's heart thump a little, though she didn't let it show. But at last her mother relented their silent staring contest. "If that's as you wish, Narcia." She then turned her gaze on the lady-in-waiting. "From now on, her transgressions will be paid by you. Do you accept this responsibility?"

Ellie nodded her head wholeheartedly. "Yes, mother." The ice girl wasn't sure if this was a victory or not, but at the very least, the Queen wouldn't be able to directly punish Shiro through normal means now. Nirana then turned and left after checking the diaper and Ellie assuring her that she punished Shiro quite heavily already. Once privacy was returned, Ellie let the doors close and took her feet off of Shiro's back. "...I'm sorry. It had to be done. I hope you understand."

When Aya woke up she was still stuck in Corren Archon's room and her gravity drive was unfortunately absent. Itward probably had it again. She had a new tube in her and oddly enough there was no pain. She was dressed in simple servant clothes yet again and a collar was placed over her throat just like before. Aya remembered her teacher's hands on her body, her teacher's face as he ripped the first tube out, and the girl curled up and shivered and cried, wanting to go back home to her Daddy, wanting for this horrible nightmare to stop, wanting to find Cress and escape to some happy place.

Corren betrayed her. He listened to Itward and hurt her and did bad things and put her to sleep and the girl was convinced he did horrible things while she was asleep and vulnerable. That was just how things worked, right? There was never any nice people, other than Cress and Serpy and Daddy, everyone was bad and a liar and wanted to hurt her. The blonde rebel whimpered, knowing she was trapped again, knowing she shouldn't ever trust anyone. And when Corren Archon returned to his room, with a tray full of cookies, Aya gave him her best angry face, eyes glimmering with hurt and sadness and broken trust. "I believed in you." She whispered, trying to make herself as small as she could. "I thought you might've been a good person. But you're just like everyone else." Aya looked away, wishing her arms were free so she could bury her head in them and hide from the world. "I want to go home. I want to see Cress.

"..I won't deny that I'm just as bad as the others." Corren murmured, but his eyes were red and Aya didn't want to know what that meant, she didn't want to think about it. Just remembering how he kindly taught her things and gave her cookies for right answers made her chest hurt. She wouldn't ever trust him again, anyone again except for Cress and Serpy and Daddy. She stuck her tongue out at him in the best rebellion she could muster, moaning and growling in anger as his hand tried to touch her shoulder. "But I can't go against Itward Cherubim. He's far too powerful."

"I hate you." Aya hissed, a tiny noise in the darkness of the room, eyes wide with fear even as she tried to be strong like Cress. She wanted to have Cress's fiery eyes of strength but all she had was a soft sadness that shone. Then Charon looked at her, mouth twitching with an emotion Aya refused to accept. "Quit the rebellion." He said sternly, curtly. "Don't try to fight the system, Aya. It's hopeless. If you quit, if you stay here with me, I can protect you. If you listen to what I say, Itward will have no reason to hurt you. Do you believe me?"

"No. Aya won't ever believe a liar like you." She turned away so she wouldn't have to see the misery in his eyes.

-------------Queenie just wants to hurt me----------------------------

Cress could hear the door opening, the tap of oxfords on tile unnintentionally making her heart clench in fear. Nio quickly shuffled out, the silent child's expression becoming stony now that her cruel big brother was back. Cress fixed him with a glare, hoping that it was having at least some sort of effect on him. She struggled against the binds once more, knowing it was fruitless but wanting to put on a display of rebellion nonetheless.

Itward's first act was to close the door once Nio fled the scene. He looked at his wayward pet, knowing this time that meddlesome Nee had no idea of the recapture so that he could have his fun. Of course he'd use Cress as a pawn to lure Nee out again later, once he could find a way around Heron's watchful eye but for now, he had a bunny to play with. And what better way to hurt someone than to hurt those they cared about? He placed the crushed gravity drive in view of the girl with a cocky grin. "She's dead." He lied. "Aine cried for you in her last moments, you know. She wanted you to save her." He stroked one of the fluffy white ears with a sadistic grin. "You're pretty useless, aren't you, silly rabbit."

Cress glared as he walked over to the bed. He was of course wearing a smile as sharp as knives, seemingly calculating something in his head that Cress couldn't comprehend. It was better not to understand the thoughts of a sadist anyways. She had prepared a retort despite the fact that she couldn't speak and was fully prepared to mentally deliver it when he placed the crushed gravity drive in front of her, speaking about Aya. Cress's chest felt crushed, as though she couldn't breath. No, not Aya, anyone but Aya. She was far too innocent, a place like Ashia Palace didn't deserve a little sun spot like her. Cress had promised to protect her and the fact that she failed filled her with shame. Rather than showing weakness though, Cress grit her teeth, a weird tingle of pleasure running down her spine as he stroked one of her rabbit ears. Cress didn't flinch or simper beneath his gaze, she remained fiery, her eyes burning with a passion like no other. She struggled, trying to somehow kick him with both legs but she could do nothing more than wiggle. So she settled for pushing her head against his leg but due to her positioning it came off as nothing more than a love tap.

Pleasure sensors were built into the ears - even if Cress tried to hide it, he knew the feeling was leaking through. Her eyes smoldered with a fury that amused the man, only making his hunger to hurt and punish others the way he felt he'd been hurt stronger. Pain would come, pain would be eventual but he wanted to play with the girl's mind a bit first. So he continued to stroke the ears, touching them, licking them, rubbing as much as he could on them, scritching with calculated measurements. "It feels good, doesn't it?" Her attempt to attack wasn't anything but a pathetic little action, with as much meaning as an ant's life. "Your friend's dead and your ears just feel so good, doesn't it, Cress?" He continued the stroking, the scratching, evil gleam in his eyes. "Admit it. You're happy she's gone. You don't have to protect her anymore. You're free from the burden, Cress." He then cupped her face in his hands, enjoying the smooth curvature of her cheeks. "You never wanted to save her in the first place, because you belong to me, as my pet. Isn't that right?"

The more he touched them, the more the euphoric sensation crept up her spine, making Cress tingle in all the right places. She didn't want this though, her mind was confused between pleasure and pain, yes, she convinced herself, that was it. No doubt all the trauma was starting to get to her and was confusing her mind, Cress was certain. She remained steady, heart pulsating smoothly as she felt the fire course through her veins, filling her with heat, making her cheeks turn a rosy shade of red. He seemed to enjoy her struggling, no doubt relishing in her discomfort. Yes her ears did feel good, she shook her head. No, it wasn't good that Aya was dead. No, Cress was not happy, but yes her ears felt good. No! She wanted Itward to stop it this instant! Of course Cress wanted to protect Aya, to keep her safe from the harm the world seemed to put her in. Of course she wanted what was best for Aya and dying was not the answer. She looked at the gravity drive, unwilling to show fear. She wanted to shake her head, to tell him no, to scream at him to stop touching her but Cress remained still, a chill creeping up her bare spine.

The blush on her cheeks made it even sweeter, and the way his pet glanced at the gravity drive only clued him into her vain attempts at resisting. Cress was definitely a prideful girl, a foolish girl. So he drew away momentarily and pointed up at a camera set up in the corner of the room. "This is all being recorded, by the way." He grinned cheerily. "Your precious cousin will see this, of course. Nee would lose all respect for you, for being reduced to an animal!" He let that sink in for a moment and grinned wider. "The valiant protector is now a harmless little rabbit. Isn't that fitting?" He remembered the first encounter, how the fear reflected in those embered eyes. So he pressed his finger at the crease between her legs, at the special spot, running a finger up her side before squeezing a mound at her chest. "We never finished this game last time. I wonder if you'll make the same noises Aine did."

Cress's eyes widened as she saw the camera, capturing her every move and shame filled her body, making her cheeks heat further. No, she couldn't let Ellie see her like this, so terribly weak and afraid. She wouldn't let her fear show, Cress would be brave. Cress wasn't an animal, she wasn't a rabbit, she was human and she would ensure he still knew that, that the entire world knew it. Somehow, Cress wasn't sure yet though. She would rebel, making Itward pay for hurting innocents like Aya and Nio. She would cut out his tongue so that he was as soundless as his sister and then make him repent for his every sin. For defiling girls, for killing Aine, for killing Aya. His finger ran up her legs, stopping over her panties and slipping them inside. No! She wanted to cry out, her eyes widening as she jerked, trying to move away. She didn't want to play his sick games. She didn't want him to make her beg for death like little Aya. Cress felt sick, she wasn't Aine, she wanted to scream; she was Aya and she deserved better than a failure like Cress.

"Silence means consent." Itward smirked as he continued defiling and touching things that were just begging for his fingers, for his scent to envelop. There was a lustful hunter burning in his eyes, as pent up stress from his past needed to be released onto a victim. Who better than this girl? It was doubly pleasurable no doubt, to watch Nee break from forcing her to watch the recording of this.... fun moment of intimacy with her demeaned cousin. There wasn't much in the way of clothes left on his prey and like a predator, Itward removed what he adorned as well, kissing her, suckling her skin, rubbing at her ears and pressing fingers on the special spot every girl had, the spot that was the most enjoyable to destroy. "Beg for me to stop, Cress. Unless you like this just as much as I do." He knew of course that she couldn't make a sound. "All you have to do is say please, and all this will be over."

No, it did not. Cress did not consent, this was rape, or molestation, whatever they wanted to call it. Scientists could give it as many different names as they wanted but the fact remained that she was being touched without permission. she thought back to when Heron had kissed her and Cress thought how it wasn't a big deal, it was just a kiss. This was different though, there had been no interior violation. What if Ellie really did see this and she thought Cress was so disgusting that she no longer wanted to be her cousin? What if she saw it and thought that Cress liked terrible things like rabbits ears and chains? He took off his clothes as wall as what remained of hers, panties around her ankles, bra flung to he side. He was sucking and kissing, touching what was rightfully her's. The worst part was it felt good, Cress wanted it to stop but it felt nice and her body seemed to pulsate around his touch. She didn't want this though, it was as if her body and mind were geared in two different directions. She felt wet and hot in all the wrong places and she panted when he rose from violating her mouth, exploring the inside of her mouth with his tongue. Please, she mouthed, Stop, she tried to scream, closing her eyes. Why did her legs quiver? Why did her bottom feel weirdly good?

It was all so wrong.

Her body was responding to each touch, each impulse and Itward knew that it was his victory. The girl was like putty in his hands, moulding her as he wished, making her feel as good as he could with hands that had done this endless times to other victims, to Aine and the new one and her as well. Cress was his toy, his victim, she would take the brunt of his pain as she rightfully should. Please, she mouthed and her eyes shut even as she shook and moistened. "You love this, little girl." His voice was a low rumbling groan, knowing it was almost time. "This is all you're good for, after all." His grin widened as he prepared for the penetrating thrust. "And the best part is? You'll be used to draw that Nee out, and you can watch personally as I do this to her as well. And it'll be all your fault." And then he broke the seal.

Shiro was so happy that she hummed a little tune as she worked on wrapping up the Princess's finger. "I'm so happy," Shiro said, a genuine smile passing through her normally composed exterior. She put the first aid kit away. "When I was in training the Queen recounted to me how alike you two were. I was worried that you liked to punish like her too, but you're opposites." Shiro's eyes widened and she quickly shook her head. "I don't mean it as an insult Princess! The Queen is glorious of course but you're different and I think that's good!" Shiro was trying to explain, trying to come up with something to cover up how rude she had been. No one dared to insult the Queen and get away with it and Shiro felt awful for saying things against her savior.

"The Queen wasn't always like that though." Shiro whispered, believing that the Princess deserved to know everything. "When I first came to the castle, it was because a servant found me in one of incinerators in the sanitary tier. She took me here and the Queen found out because I cried too much since I was born sick. At first, they tried to use me to cure the illness a lot of children in my tier are born with. I wasn't a very good test subject though." Shiro scratched her cheek, remembering the videos of the experiments they kept on file. "When the Queen realized it was around the time they sent you away. She had what I think they called empty nest syndrome and decided to make me her servant."

Yes, Shiro remembered that faithful day when she went from being a number to having a name. She was around three years old at the time and went from living in a lab to sharing a bed in the servant corridors with the woman that had found her. Diana was her name and she had recently lost her own child due to a forced miscarriage after an accident where she tripped on the Queen's veil and fell down a staircase. "I used to sing to her all the time, and make her pictures. She still has one on her dresser. Then she heard you were coming back and I started training-"

At that moment Nee suddenly threw Shiro down into a kneeling position and propped her feet up on Shiro's back. Of course; Shiro had done something wrong hadn't she? Was it because of what she said about the Princess and the Queen not being alike? Shiro quivered and the door opened, the Queen coming in. There was a silent war, the air charged with electricity as Nee and the Queen fought for the right to punish Shiro. She whimpered, wondering what she had done to make things go bad again.

Then the Queen was gone and Nee took Shiro by the shoulders, lifting her back up and apologizing. "It's okay," Shiro said quietly, it was dark out by then.

Narcia shrunk in shame, which surprised Ellie. Why was Narcia suddenly so opposed to having any similarities with Queen Nirana? Ellie remembered that they were once very similar - Narcia still had the same razor-like smile that she could sport with ease, and she initially had the same disdain for servants around her. Had Ellie been able to open her eyes and make Narcia see the world for how it was? Or - and Ellie was afraid this was the more accurate guess - were the two consciousnesses blending into one now that they've grown used to each other? Would Ellie be erased and replaced with a slightly nicer version of Narcia? She didn't know and it was terrifying.

The Sanitary Tier. That was one Narcia only heard very rarely, as if it were a forbidden secret only the initiated could know. It was, according to myth, below even the Rubble tier and the living conditions were likely even worse. Ellie - or Narcia - listened carefully to Shiro's past, taking in every word with careful consideration. She was born sick, and allegedly used as a test to try and cure it. Her fate was sealed the moment Narcia was sent away, forced to become a servant, with no choice of her own. Maybe if Narcia agreed to work together with Aine in the very beginning, this wouldn't have happened. But there was no way to tell, was there? Shiro told of the singing, of the picture, but then Nirana came in as if summoned and disrupted it all.

Night had fallen once again once Shiro accepted the apology, saying that it was okay. Ellie hugged her close, hugging her the way she used to hug Cress. "You no longer have to be afraid. She can't touch you now." Ellie whispered, shining in her victory. She was tired - the silent war had taken more energy than she would've thought. There was a text on her phone, from Heron, saying that tomorrow they had to meet up to talk. Ellie hoped her cousin was fine and that Heron was accommodating her. Ellie was half out of her dress when she eyed Shiro. "Only if you want to, you can change me into the heavier night gown. It's your choice - I don't mind either way." The Princess's head nuzzled her roommate's. "But you're sleeping with me, whether you like it or not!"

As much as Corren tried, Aya wouldn't listen. The betrayal hurt, the touching hurt, the kiss hurt, everything hurt. She wanted to have been able to trust him, to believe him and since it was all a lie, the girl didn't know what to do. She was out of words and simply turned her head away every time he tried to talk to her. She wouldn't eat the cookies, of course not. Aya just wanted to starve to death and die but she knew that she wouldn't be allowed that. She couldn't save Cress, she couldn't even save herself. Horrible, Aya was a horrible person. Maybe she deserved this, maybe this was just what an evil person like her needed. She did, after all, let her twin sister die, didn't she? Aya was dead be- Kora, Kora was dead because of her and there was nothing she could do to fix it.

After a while it seemed Corren gave up on trying to talk to her. He simply gave her another pill for the pain and drained her pee from the tube and helped her relieve her bowels as well. Aya didn't bother struggling or fighting it, she knew nothing she did would stop it. Archon was only trying to be nice, only trying to be good so then he could betray her again; hurt her again. She wouldn't fall for those tricks again. So Corren simply went back to his desk and started to read again, delving back into his studies, no doubt not caring at all about Aya. Sure, he dressed her again and everything but nothing else mattered. He was a traitor, and she probably deserved it for letting Kora die, for letting Cress get taken by Itward.

Later, Corren returned with food and Aya's belly grumbled but she kept her mouth shut, she wouldn't eat it ever. Guilt and pain was clear on his face but Aya wouldn't accept it, she wouldn't let him apologize because she knew it was another trick. Sure, Aya wasn't very smart but she knew that pigs were always filthy. Even when Corren read her a story, a story of hope, of forgiveness, of a prince who wronged the princess one day and kidnapped her but then rescued her from his own king and brought the princess back home, a story that didn't suit this horrible world the Untouchable Tier was, the mean world Ourania was.

But for some reason Corren's soothing tones were enough for Aya to drift off into sleep. She was already gone when the scholar placed her on his bed, tucking her in under the sheets.

Why was her body betraying her like this? When he broke the seal, her body went stiff, then it seemed to accept it, allowing him to thrust, to fill her with his seed as he moaned in pleasure, sucking on her mounds, nibbling and pulling. He was filling her, his strange warmth that her body seemed to take in rather than reject. There was blood and pain but as he pulled in and out it went away and a throbbing filled her that made her legs quiver. Her entire body twitched in a way she had never felt it do before and he continued, making it betray her and twitch again and again and again until he was done and he pushed her aside.

"Nio!" He screamed and the little girl came rushing in. Cress took the opportunity to sit up and headbutted him, watching as he held his forehead in pain. She separated her legs, blood and other fluids flowing out as she wrapped her legs around his throat, wrestling him in a choke hold. He suddenly grinned and Cress's heart thumped in-could it be-excitement? No, that wasn't right. His head slid forward and he pressed his mouth against her sensitive areas, slurping up everything that spilled out. She struggled but he held onto her, easing her back onto the bed, legs in the air. She quivered again, unsure what this feeling was. He stuck a finger inside and grinned. "I can already feel my shape molding inside of you. Oh my little pet, you're warming up to me so quickly." Cress tightened her legs around him but he flicked her somewhere sensitive and she let out a silent yelp, her legs loosening enough for him to get out.

"Clean this mess up," he said, gesturing to the girl laying in their combined fluids. Cress's cheeks blushed in shame as he leaned over, whispering in one of her real ears. "I bet the Princess won't be half as cute as you." Her cheeks heated up again and he laughed cruelly, putting his clothes back on. Nio was gentle as she managed to wrestle Cress into the bathtub. She washed the girl away, putting a bandage underneath due to the bit of blood still flowing out. She put band aids on her mounds too in the shape of little red hearts and Cress had the sickening feeling that Itward had asked her to do it.

Then she was back in bed, all dry and tied up with her arms chained to the bed. Her legs were free though. When Itward returned he had a little cake that he force fed to her that made Cress's mind wander and feel horribly sleepy. He grabbed onto her like a stuffed animal, his pajama clad form curling up beside her own bare one. Cress tried to fight the sleepiness, but it came so swiftly and harped down on her like an eagle picking at its prey.

"Yes, I'll retrieve it for you!" Shiro grabbed the nightgown and undid Nee's clothes, pulling it over the girl's head and redressing the Princess for bed. Then Shiro prepared herself as well and crawled into bed beside the Princess. "Thank you Princess," Shiro said quietly as she lay a respectful distance away from Nee. She felt some sort of weird satisfaction, as though this were the ultimate praise. The servant girl closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep peacefully, a small, but happy smile on her face.

For once, Ellie woke up before Shiro did. She draped her with the blanket and finished her morning preparations - bathing, dressing, taking a bite of chocolate - and then she took her electric knife with heavy reluctance before heading out. She kept her phone on her, of course - she couldn't risk someone trying to get to Shiro while she was out. If needed, she'd shoot anyone who got too close to her room. What needed to be done, however, was for her to reach the spire - a section near the top of Ashia Palace that was wide open to the elements, a place usually reserved for the knights to train in. She was to meet Heron here, the red haired flirt seemed insistent, so it had to be important.

The spire was higher up than what Ellie was used to seeing and the air was thin, making breathing difficult, even with her specially made lungs to withstand such extremes. It was also much colder, a chilly breeze making the princess shiver. There were no guardrails on the edges of the square arena - if you were weak enough to be pushed off, you'd die easily. All in all, it was one of the more dangerous places to find yourself in, and Ellie had a heavy suspicion that something had gone wrong. She kept her knife concealed within her sleeve, because you never know when you needed to defend yourself.

Ellie sensed it before it happened and she leapt to the side as a spear's edge was flung at her. It crashed against the floor of the spire and then the middle bent to change the angle of the arrow-shaped blade, recoiling to hit her in the direction she dodged in. Ellie gasped - chest heaving as she tried to draw in air - but she managed to block it with her knife, sparks flying as steel clashed against steel. Then the spear whipped back and bent again to the other side, snaking around and hitting Ellie in the side with the flat part of the blade, knocking her to the ground. Then the spear shifted and a red mane swung and it stopped directly in front of Ellie's throat.

"You'd think the rebels would train their members a bit more, huh?" Heron's voice was sharp and to the point, Ellie's stomach dropped. So she somehow found out. Cress was in danger, then, wasn't she? Ellie remained silent, waiting to see if Heron would speak more, all friendliness gone from her voice. "By all rights, you'd be dead now, Nee." She pulled the spear back, slinging it over her shoulder, knowing that Ellie was too out of breath to try and fight back. "Care to explain why Cress was working with Xion?"

Ellie coughed and heaved, feeling lightheaded and dizzy. If she wanted to survive this, she'd have to somehow appease Heron. But how could she? And did this mean that Cress was already given back to the Queen? "Cress - where? Where... is she?" Ellie panted, trying to push her hands against the floor in order to not fall flat on her belly, whole body trembling. Heron then slammed her spear down right beside Ellie's ear, her head was ringing with the sound, the floor cracked from the strength of the impact. "This isn't about her now! You better be honest to me, Narcia. What's going on here?" The clouds were dark, a murky color, and Ellie was glad that at least she was above them.

Corren was still asleep when Aya woke up. She was confused and in pain as she was brought back to consciousness, yawning and whimpering as she felt the pain ramp up in her special spot again. The scholar was on the floor, a spare blanket over his body as he slept and Aya didn't understand why he didn't take the bed - didn't understand how she even got on the bed in the first place. This was weird, it was just his way of trying to trick her into trusting him again, so she wouldn't fall for it. This was her chance, she realized, as her wrist was no longer cuffed to anything. Aya hopped to her feet, falling over and almost hitting her head on the wall when her legs collapsed underneath her. Weak, she was still weak from what Itward did and Aya trembled thinking about how much Cress must be hurting.

There was no time for her to feel sorry for herself. She had to be strong, she had to be a hero; she had to find her friend. Even with the crippling pain, determination glowed in her eyes. Aya stood up on rubbery legs, limping and stumbling her way out of the room. First things first - she needed to deal with her bladder, so the girl somehow made her way with an almost drunken gait to the bathroom where she clasped hands over her mouth to stifle her moans as the urine trickled out of the tube - the catheter. She then took the plug and was about to shut it when she remembered from the reading lessons that she had to clean the end of it first. So Aya looked around for disinfectant swabs but found nothing - instead she bundled up toilet paper and wiped at it, hoping that that would be enough. "Aya will be brave, Cress. Just you wait." Even without her gravity drive, Aya would find a way, right? "Because we're a team."

The blonde rebel -with her collar removed and a long rifle-type gun in her hands to use as a walking stick and a weapon just in case - left the Archon Estate behind, messy hair becoming even worse in the rain. Why was it even raining? How dumb was that, how silly was that? Aya pulled her green jacket closer to her, huddling under it's warmth to try and keep the cold rain away as she struggled her way through the Untouchable Tier. It was good that she memorized the safe paths, the ways to stay out of sight and unseen, trying to find the Cherubim Mansion, trying to get to Cress and to save her somehow.

After what felt like an eternity, the drenched girl came across something weird in the grass. It was red and so she panicked initially, wondering if someone died, if someone got hurt. But then it turned out that the red formed letters, words. Aya stared at it, blinking through the dripping rain, remembering the lessons the liar Corren gave her. "God save the Queen" it said, right? Aya glanced at the killing weapon wrapped in her hands and nodded, agreeing with the message. "She'll need saving..." The normally cheerful girl muttered as she continued her trek. "Aya will kill her, kill all the pigs."

Maybe it was because of the rain obscuring her vision, or because she didn't recognize it in her haze of exhaustion and pain, but Aya walked past the Cherubim Mansion as she tried to look for it, not realizing the lawn the words were written on was exactly the location she wanted to find.

Cress awoke with a toothbrush in her mouth. She panicked at first, flailing, choking on toothpaste until she realized it was just Nio. The girl calmed a bit, swishing and spitting and she propped herself up on her elbows. She felt sick to her stomach but knew that there was no chance of-of that. After all, Cress didn't have the ability to bear children. She was glad though, she would never have wanted to mate with a murderer and molester like Itward. Her stomach growled in hunger, but Nio had left so she couldn't hear it. The girl let out a silent groan and rolled onto her side, shivering from her lack of clothing with only weird band aids covering the important bits.

Itward was in a bad mood. One of the minor families apparently had their eye on Nio for a future bride and it just made him want to break something. Nio was his, she wasn't suited for marriage, she was best sticking with him like she always did. The last bastion of warmth in his life, really. Even with her voice gone, she still loved him. Even with Heron's betrayal, Nio was still there. She was probably reading somewhere in the house, and there was always someone available for him to vent on again, just like last night. So with food prepared for both him and his victim, he entered the room he had set up for Cress, the girl baring almost everything. He smirked at her as he entered - he had a meeting later with Queen Nirana so something like this would help him last through it, at the very least. "Last night was fun, Cress." He let his voice wash over her. "I think I know why you came from earth. Your destiny is to please me, isn't it?" He placed the food in front of her and stabbed a chunk of it with his fork, taking a bite and swallowing. He then put the fork in her mouth, feeding her like the animal she was. "Indirect kiss. Isn't that romantic?"

Cress was thinking of an escape. Her fire was back, burning brightly as ever as she rolled, trying different positions to see where the cuffs weakest links were. She tried to stretch them out but she was weak from last night and her body was sore in ways she didn't want to think about. Cress would kill him, she would definitely kill him. As soon as her hands were untied she would wrap them around his neck and watch the life sink out of him, putting Itward out of his misery. She didn't care if they still needed Itward alive to keep the focus of the Queen, someone like him didn't deserve to live. The door opened then, startling Cress from her plans of murder. She glared as soon as he came in, a tray in his hand. Cress continued her fight against the binds until his hands were on her, propping her into a sitting position. No, last night was not fun, she was in pain and wanted to punch someone in the face. When he spoke, Cress shook her head furiously, no, she was not here to please him, she was here to bring Ellie back. Her rabbit ears flopped down over her real ones. He put something on a fork, feeding it to her. She was going to spit it out but it actually tasted good and poor little Nio was the one who made it so Cress swallowed, glaring the entire time.

Once the food was finished and breakfast was served, Itward grinned and moved his face closer to his rabbit's, for the kiss but he drew back at the last second, instead jabbing the fork into her mouth, hearing it clang against her teeth. He moved it around in her mouth, then removed it, tasting her saliva. "We taste the same, heh." He poked her face a few times with said fork before setting it down. "What, you thought I'd put my tongue in for you to bite? It won't be that easy." He snickered a little, remembering the events of last night. "You were pretty easy yourself, though. Didn't even try fighting back. What happened to that fire, little bunny? You liked it, didn't you?" He stroked and rubbed at the fluffy white ears again and then delivered a kick to her side, mixing pleasure with pain. "We should try something a little more.... kinky tonight. Sounds good, doesn't it?"

Cress had closed her eyes for a minute to try and clear her head, when she opened them Itward's face was coming close with that malicious grin that made her want to lash out. His lips were mere inches away when he pulled back and shoved a fork in her mouth, making her tongue bleed like she had made him bleed yesterday. She nearly choked on said fork until he pulled it out and she breathed, trying to headbutt him again but they positioning only made it so that it looked as though she were leaning forward in a feeble attempt to hug her knees. She glared, her fire back, angrier than ever. She kicked and flailed, trying to lash out but then he started stroking her ears and that odd chill crept up her spine again. She shook her head again and with his grip on her ears it hurt. No, she didn't want to do that again, she didn't want his hands on her, his member filling with that strange warmth that made her legs quiver. Cress needed to get out, she had to try but her head felt fuzzy again. This time though, she didn't fall asleep, she just felt as though she were floating on a cloud and gradually the fight stopped.

"See how easy it is to tame you?" He jeered, taunting, mocking her short-lived attempt at a struggle. Cress didn't last very long at all and the fires in her eyes seemed to dull as the scritching continued. He kept it up for a little longer, keeping a careful watch of the girl, until he was satisfied with the petting. He decided on a new game this time while he had politics to deal with - pressing some buttons on her collar for random-interval shocks that she wouldn't be able to predict. He then gave her a pill to give her back her speech that would come into effect in a few minutes. He fiddled with the collar settings and saw the first shock go off. "Just a warning, rabbit." He said as he stood to his full height. "If the collar senses any noise from you, the shocks will get stronger and more frequent. If you scream, it'll keep punishing you until you learn to keep quiet. But a cute thing like you can handle that, right?" He smiled, appearing almost friendly if not for the sadism shining in his eyes. "Just a little preview of what's in store tonight."

Cress kept herself sane by plotting his murder. She would make it look like an accident of course, she couldn't leave signs that she was here. No one would cry for him, if Cress had to bet. Sure there'd be a large procession but there would be no tears. They would hail him as a mrtyer she knew, but didn't care. Itward, the noble who died by rebel hands. It would come as a relief though, people no longer would have to put extra guards on their daughters since he was dead. Yes, that thought, the thought of people not having to fear him, soothed Cress a bit, at least until he started playing with the settings on her collar. She felt a tiny shock and jumped, seeing his grin and knowing he was going to put her through another round of sensless abuse. He forced a pill into her mouth and the tablet melted as he explained his new game. "I'll kill you!" She screamed in fury, not caring about the shocks. It hurt, but Cress had felt worse pain before. "You'd better sleep with one eye open Itward, I'll freaking bash your skull when you're not looking!" The shocking increased and this time she writhed in pain, her eyes widening as the shock went through her entire body.

And just as expected, the girl was already falling to the new game. His smile widened as she screamed and yelled, only to recieve more and more shocks through her body. She'd kill him? The thought made him laugh. How could a filthy rebel hope to defeat him if even his muscle-headed sister failed to land the killing blow? As long as he had Nio, no one would dare. His sister would keep him safe and he'd protect her as well. No one else suffered as much as they did, after all. "You'd make a little girl cry if you did." The man said, an almost crazed look in his eyes. "She still wants to save me! You shouldn't crush her dreams like that. I wouldn't ever forgive you if you did." For some reason it was nice to see Cress still trying to fight, still resisting. Girls who fought were always funner to break, though a deeper part of him was reminded of a certain blonde childhood friend that never gave in. (e)

Cress laughed, "She's delusional. Who would want to save a monster like you? You think you suffered? You think others don't suffer?" It was hard to breathe from the frequency of the shocks. "My dad's dead! My family is on a planet a million light years away! But I don't take my shit out on other people!" Something wasn't right, his smile was too bright for someone whose life had been threatened. It was as though her threats weren't hurting him at all. So Cress grinned, a wild eyed, sharp toothed green just like the Queen. "I'll take away everything you hold dear, bastard." And then a shock went off that made her go into cardiac arrest, her entire body shaking, unable to breath as her back arched, blood spilling from between her lips.

It was as if his brain wouldn't - or possibly, couldn't - register that other people had suffered as well. He listened, of course, but her words couldn't reach him, it wouldn't process for him. There was a brief emotion that absolutely shouldn't have been on his face, perhaps as a sign of how the noble lifestyle had broken the man he could've been, but it quickly vanished, returning to his sadistic self. He was about to retort that it'd be entertaining to watch her try to take away whatever it was he held close to him when the girl suddenly convulsed, bleeding through her lips. Itward, however, had no idea how to handle this, but letting her simply die wouldn't exactly benefit him in any way, would it? Itward picked up his phone and dialed his brother in law, the one who seemed obsessed with medicine and studying. "Corren, I need you here. Bring your medical stuff." He was, as usual, oblivious to the rare panic in the scholar's voice, as if he was looking for someone who had vanished.

A few minutes later, drenched in rain but with the equipment, Corren Archon arrived at the main family house and Nio had him escorted in to fix Cress. The sandy-haired boy almost faltered at the sight of the girl, wondering when he'd be able to put his practice to the test and give her her voice back, to medicate the girl back into sanity. Was it even possible to hope for such a thing with Itward alive, though? He didn't know, and he couldn't worry about that for now, since he had this servant girl with rabbit augments to deal with. So he first checked the radial pulse in the wrist, and then the carotid, buried in her neck. Nothing, as expected. He disabled the collar's shock functions for the time being and checked her mouth and chest for signs of breaths. Once again, nothing. So Corren grimaced and took out a machine from his pack, placing them where her heart should be, trying to shock life back into her heart to get it working again. Once, twice, and the third time it seemed to work. He lifted Cress up, undoing the chains, and repositioned her lying face up before re administering the restraints.

"...Brother, as much fun as it is, she'll die unless you let her rest." He said in his usual monotone, none of his inner emotions showing, none of the relief (or perhaps it was guilt that her suffering would have to continue) showing through his guarded expression. "Don't torment her for the next twenty-four hours. I might not be able to revive her a second time." He was anxious to get out, to leave this house, to go continue his search for the missing blonde girl. He did, however, make sure to hand Nio a cookie before leaving, hoping the girl would stay strong until somehow she could be freed.

Cress felt like she was floating, she could see her body, Itward's calm exterior as he coolly called his brother in law to come and revive her. She wanted to tell them not to bother, that she was fine there, floating above everything, but Cress couldn't speak. The shocks continued despite her breathless body until Itward finally called it off and the man came. Cress was pulled back into her body as he restarted her heart with more electricity that made her heart jump, forced to reboot like an updated computer. She coughed and spluttered and leaned over to retch over the side of the bed, the somewhat delicious spilling onto the med student's shoes. There was no apology from the rabbit, she glared, wondering why he had brought her back, why she couldn't just pass and join her father wherever he was. As if by some miracle, her wrists were unstrapped, instantly she lunged, going for Itward's throat, her eyes full of anger, but the sandy haired boy caught her, easing her back down and recuffing her. "I'l kill you!" She screamed, "I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you!" She was wild, wanting to strangle Itward, to hurt him like he had hurt her and Aya. Aya, poor sweet Aya who would be in pain everytime she had to use the bathroom, Aya whose sensitive body had been torn apart so that she could never have kids with a man she truly loved. It was too late for Cress, but Aya, Aya the girl he had killed in cold blood, she would avenge.

Shiro had gone from a respective distance to curling up right beside Nee, sleeping with the stuffed puppy she had tried to use to cheer Nee up. Her age was evident, how young Shiro truly was. The girl slept peacefully beside the Princess, hardly moving when Nee rose to get ready for the day. It was odd being able to sleep so peacefully and when Shiro awoke she was alone in the Princess's bed. She sat up in confusion, wondering if she had ended up so distant from her original spot in the large bed. "Oh no! The Princess!" Shiro ran to the bathroom, she checked the closet too but there was no Nee to be found.

The breakfast tray was waiting outside and Shiro brought it in, setting up before going to prepare herself. She bathed quickly, leaving her hair down and figuring she could always put it in twin tails later as she hurriedly got dressed and went back to the Princess's room to see if she was there. No signs of her yet, Shiro frowned. Archon would be here soon, no doubt he wouldn't excuse another absence. Shiro went down the hall, she had decided to remain barefoot since it was a bit more comfortable than wearing shoes all the time. She skipped down the hall, clearly happy. "Shiro," the girl stopped, her heart growing cold. The Queen stood there, wearing her normally sharp smile. This time she had a frown of distaste, "Whatever are you doing?" Shiro stopped and curtsied with a smile. "I'm on an errand for the Princess," she smiled, clearly far too happy for a servant. The Queen had promised though and so she'd let it alone.

"Carry on but for goodness sake Shiro, put on your shoes." Shiro curtsied once more, her smile unable to come off of her face. She had woken up awfully happy and Shiro had no idea why. "Yes, my Queen." Then she skipped off once more in search of her Princess. Shiro checked the library, going past the walls and rows of books, looking on the second and thid floors of the royal archives that held the records of every citizen in Ashia Palace, retained in a large super computer at the end of the hall. There was plenty of reading material, but no Princess to be found.

At this point the skipping had stopped. Perhaps the Princess was outside today? She went to the garden, scouring the flowery trails of the beautiful domed sanctuary and there were gardeners, but no Princess. She checked the royal log too, seeing that she hadn't checked out. The infantrymen at the base of the tower hadn't seen her either. Hmm, this was a worrisome thing. There hadn't been any signs of a struggle, so surely the Princess couldn't have been kidnapped? It was quite puzzling and Shiro didn't know what she would do if she had allowed the Princess to be kidnapped. It was her job to protect her after all.

It was by sheer luck that she passed by the balcony where the Princess was. "Nee!" Shiro yelled, going to help her up. She shielded the Princess with her body, throwing her arms out to block the Knight Heron.

There was a reason Heron was one of the best Knights in the Ouranian Army and the ease with which Ellie was forced to the ground in a helpless surrender proved it. No matter how much she trained, no matter how much she prepared, it would be impossible for her - or for mostly anyone, maybe even Cress - to beat Heron in a fight. She trained with many weapons since childhood, winning even against boys that were bigger and stronger than she was. Ellie wasn't sure why she thought she had a chance.

"Aren't you jumping to conclusions, Heron?" Ellie said after she regained her breath, staring at the spear that twirled threateningly in Heron's hands, ready to strike if she saw fit. "I had no idea of my cousin's involvement. I'm the princess, why would I join the rebels?" She tried to seem as icy as she could but it was hard to keep her composure with a deadly weapon right in front of her. The Princess's eyes darted around - her electric knife had been knocked aside, out of reach. "Your loyalty to me is akin to mine to the Queen." And a strange side of Narcia wondered if that statement was truer than it seemed at first glance. The knight didn't look as if she believed it, though, her mouth was clenching tightly. "Rebels who would dare hurt the Queen all deserve death." She exclaimed over the roaring winds. "Ourania's fang will deal with any traitors."

And then Shiro came and tried to lift her, covering Ellie's body with her own tiny one. "Shiro..." The tech wizard tried to warn her, to make her go back to safety, to tell her she didn't stand a chance against someone like Heron but it was too late, Heron swung her spear and the flat side hit Shiro and knocked her skidding to the edge where death was certain. Ellie sucked in as much of the thin air as she could and grabbed Shiro's wrist, almost dangling off the edge herself. Her legs didn't have enough strength in them to pull the both of them up and she didn't bring the gravity drive with her. But even if it meant death, Ellie wouldn't let go. Her footing was slipping. "Shiro, I'm sorry." The princess was crying again, Shiro was going to die and it was all her fault. There wasn't enough air, there wasn't -

A powerful gale was enough to knock both girls over the edge. "Heron, please!" Ellie screamed as Shiro fell out of her grasp. And somehow her desperate plea was enough to snap sense into the knight and she jumped to follow them after grabbing the electric knife - first grabbing Ellie's arm and using her as a boost to push past her and grab Shiro's wrist, cradling her in a bridal embrace. She then slammed her spear against the side of the palace, stopping the descent and catching Ellie somehow with the arm holding Shiro. Now the three just dangled for a moment. "Don't let go." Heron growled, having them cling to her hips as she pulled out the electric knife, jabbing it into the side, slightly above. Once it was in far enough, Heron took her spear out and stabbed it in - slowly bringing them both up to the top. Ellie had fainted, but Heron brought both girls back into the palace itself, collapsing onto her knees once she shut the door to the spire.

"...Gah." The knight muttered, fluffing Shiro's head. "Someone cute like you could never be a rebel anyways. The hell was I thinking." She sighed, letting her adrenaline wear off, still surprised her plan on saving them worked as well as it did. Heron then grinned, running a hand through her mane, handing Shiro the knife to return to Nee once she woke. "You're pretty brave, y'know. Not many would've done that. Apologize to the princess for me later, kay?" The knight then left, walking back down the steps, pressing a button to collapse her spear into a baton for easy transport.

Aya wasn't used to seeing the Untouchable District with this much rain. It was weird, she didn't like it, she didn't know where she was going, just that she was stumbling around, dragging herself with the gun, trying to move her legs as little as possible because it hurt, it really hurt. Where was Cress, where was Itward's house? Aya didn't know where she was headed, she didn't know what to do. She found her way to the tree where she hid her bike earlier but it wasn't there, someone must have stolen it. The bike was a gift from Daddy - Aya was a terrible daughter for losing it, wasn't she? And she was a terrible sister for losing Kora, and now a terrible friend for losing Cress.

It was funny. With the dark rain-clouds blocking out the sky and the downpour making everything wet, the Untouchable Tier was scary and menacing, especially compared to the comfy yet dirty Rubble Tier. But Aya was determined, even if it was scary and painful, she would find Cress and she would bring her home. The blonde rebel let out a little sneeze, drowned out by the pouring rain that was her world now. "Cress..." She mumbled as she walked, somehow finding herself in front of the bike tree with no recollection of how that even happened. And then there was a hand at her shoulder, someone in the knight uniform, asking what she was doing, why she was out in the rain.

"I'm looking for someone." Aya whimpered, shaking her head when the knight offered her a hand. "No, no, you're just a liar." Everyone was a liar, everyone except for Cress and Daddy and Serpy was evil, Aya knew it was true, it had to be true. And then the knight glimpsed the weapon and he recognized the Archon seal of arms on the side. His eyes narrowed firmly. "Are you an escaped servant?" He asked pointedly, trying to get a look at her neck. "There was that rumor of a new servant that tried to run from the Archons. It was you, wasn't it?"

He tried to grab her but Aya didn't want it, she knew it was only going to be more pain and sadness and badness so Aya pulled the gun up, stumbling against the bike tree for support and then she pressed the trigger, making a laser fly out and hit the knight in the arm, making him fall, clutching the wound with a gasp of pain. Aya let out a scream as the blood was there, mixing with the rain, no - no she didn't want to hurt anyone, she didn't want to do that one bit! It was only a matter of time until more bad people came to help this evil knight so Aya turned and tried to run, crying and shaking but trying to ignore the pain and the cold because she couldn't be weak, she had to stay strong or she'd never see Cress ever again.

"Cress... where? Where are you?"

|| Flaws || Bastille ||

------------------------- Cress is cool and stuff and I hope she doesn't get hurt ;_; ------------------------

Cress was in pain, her chest hurt and even with the pain she didn't stop fighting. Nio had come in with a washcloth to wipe at the blood and she cleaned the vomit on the floor. "Let... me... go...." She panted, but the binds were tighter so there was less flailing. She grit her teeth, the rising tide of adrenaline that had swelled only moments before was now quickly fading and she felt weak and dizzy. "Nio-" Cress begged, "Please-" her words were clipped short by the sheer struggle it had become to speak and her head and lungs hurt. She leaned her head back, closing her eyes, wishing that this day would end but it had only just begun.

There was clearly something wrong with Itward as he stared at the girl who had almost died, only just being brought back. His heart as pounding and there were screams echoing in his mind, in his memories that he tried to lock away. He clutched at Cress's hair, perhaps a bit too roughly than he should, a very slight tremble in his hands. "Don't.. Don't - you're not allowed to die. You're not, that - wasn't meant to happen." His breathing was erratic and Nio simply gave him a look that showed that this wasn't a special incident either, though it usually happened when they were alone. "You're laughing, right? Aine laughed when she died, she knew - she had to know, and you're doing it too, aren't you?" There was a storm brewing behind his eyes. "Wasn't. Wasn't meant to happen. This is your fault." He gave Cress a little violent shake.

He was there again, on top of her, shaking her. "Let me go!" Cress screamed but she was too tired to fight. He seemed wild, saying that Aine had laughed when she died and that surely she was laughing too. So Cress did, she laughed, at first a mere chuckle, then it grew louder and louder until her whole body shook, laughing like her life depended on it, laughing like the Joker from Batman. There wasn't anything funny and Cress didn't know where it came from but it rattled her whole body, making her eyes water, her bladder quiver until she was sure she had gotten to him.

He had to shut her up, to stop it, to make it go quiet. He moved his hands to throttle but Nio didn't let him, her little head shaking in earnest, trying to mouth that she was fragile, that it was dangerous so he kicked her in the stomach instead, to try and take the air out of her lungs. This wasn't right, it was all wrong, this stupid rabbit was getting to him, making him remember, making him go back to those days again that he never wanted to return to. "Shut up." He growled, kicking her again. "Shut up, you don't. You don't know anything, you stupid, stupid rabbit. Don't look at me with those eyes." The man was agitated, he was spiraling and Nio clung to his leg to try and calm him, if only a little bit. "Why wouldn't Aine stop? Nee and I tried to make her see sense, tried to make her stop the war but she wouldn't and she died and it's not my fault! We wanted to save her, that idiot." He glared at Cress, mouth twitching. "Stop it. Stop laughing."

Cress knew she was going to get in trouble, but it was worth it. The kick to her stomach made her whimper and yelp like a puppy who had gotten stepped on. She tried to curl into a ball to protect her vital organs but the most she could do was bring her knees up a little. "I. Don't. Know!" Cress growled through grit teeth, but she had a feeling she did know. Aine was brave, she was so brave to face this monster head on. Cress had stopped laughing, there was nothing to laugh about anyways. "I'm not Aine!" She tried to scream but it came out a hoarse whisper. "If you were so concerned, why didn't you ask her before you-"[color] Nio shook her head and something told Cress if she said the words she would severely regret it. So naturally, she did. [color=#CD5C5C]"Killed her. You killed her, it's your fault she's dead. Aine was a hero, she was going to make a change and you tried to stop her but she succeeded and now!" Cress managed to get up enough to meet his face, "You're going to pay."

The whimper and the yelp and the way she curled up just messed with his mind even more. Who was this girl to laugh at him, to make him remember these horrible thoughts anyways? Who was she to claim she didn't know after taunting him, after getting into his head. She wasn't Aine, she was something else and Itward didn't know if the something else was worse or not, he just wanted it to stop, to break her, to make her see that he wasn't at fault, that she should've just stayed silent. This stupid girl, this - and then she said it, she said it and no matter what his little sister tried it wouldn't work. He pulled Cress up by her ears, yanking hard, drawing some blood at the seams, slamming the girl into the wall, eyes blazing yet trembling all the same. "You don't get it." He growled. "Nee left like a coward and it was just me and I tried, I wanted to - but Aine wouldn't stop, she wouldn't - and the Queen, the Queen she told me to do it, she told me and I had to, you don't get it at all." He wasn't sure what emotion was on his face but he didn't care. He wanted to hurt this idiot girl for making him go back to those days. So he kicked her in the special spot with as much force as he could., pulled her up, and did it a second time for good measure.

Cress smiled, a viscous grin that mimicked the Queen. She had gotten to him, the truth was finally out. So the Queen was the puppet master behind this entire ordeal after all, Cress should have known. She cried out when he lifted her by the ears and she could feel blood dripping down, mixing with her hair that was getting longer as the days went on. "Are you going to break me Itward?" Cress asked with a snarl, "Are you going to try to hurt me like you hurt her?" He threw her into the wall and Cress cried out, her head hitting it hard. He was in her face, growling calling her cousin a coward. Ellie wasn't a coward, she was braver than this man would ever be. She felt terrible pain between her legs and her face contorted appropriately, a whimper escaping her. He did it again and she wanted to hit him where it hurt, to show him that she wasn't going to simply take it. Cress had one final burst of energy that she used to lift her legs while he was holding her ears, causing a terrible ripping sound in her head that she was sure no one else could hear, and kicked him where it would hurt the most on any guy. Then she passed out, her eyes rolling up in her head with Itward still holding her ears like he was pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

Shiro was scared, so scared, she whimpered as Heron came at her and then screamed in pain when she was flung over to the edge. Shiro was grasping at tile, but her hands were slipping. She was falling, flailing, the slightest breeze making her wince. "H-help!" Shiro screamed, she didn't want to die, she didn't want to fall and break like a toy being thrown across the room. "No!" There were tears in her eyes, her fingers clinging onto the edge of the roof. She felt someone grab her wrist and Shiro grabbed theirs, "No! Princess! You mustn't!" Shiro gasped, her eyes watering from tears and the wind. "Please, leave me!" She begged but of course Nee wouldn't listen. Why would anyone listen to a servant? She whimpered, knowing that this was it, that she was going to fall and her life would be over in a flash. It must have been some sort of cruel fate, the ultimate punishment.

The Princess was apologizing and Shiro knew she was going to die. "Thank you," Shiro was smiling, but there were tears in her eyes and then a strong wind pushed them both over. She would never get to see the lower tiers, never get to see the rest of Ourania, or travel to earth with the girl named Cress that Nee loved so much. Shiro's hand was frozen as though she was still holding on. She closed her eyes, hoping it wouldn't be painful when she landed on the palace grounds. No doubt the Queen would be mad at her for making such a mess with her blood.

Something grabbed her wrist, Shiro was pulled into an embrace, warmth keeping her close and safe. She gasped, her tears frozen to her cheeks from the icy winds. "Heron-" Shiro choked on a sob in relief. Then her eyes widened, "The Princess! You need to save her! She's more important!" Heron was already on it, grabbing the Princess and using her weapons to take them both up, putting them down once they were safely inside. Shiro was shaking, she had peed herself again from fear and was a quivering wet mess. It was a relief though, she was alive, she wasn't going to die. Heron pat her head and Shiro embraced the warmth, practically clinging to the older girl. "Thank you," Shiro cried, holding onto Heron's leg even though the girl tried to leave. "I-I didn't want to die." The knight shook her off, telling Shiro to apologize to the Princess for her. Shiro watched her leave, wondering how she could ever explain this to the Queen.

When Ellie woke again she was on her bed, somehow, somehow on her bed. Shiro was there, Shiro was alive and Ellie clung to her, needing her warmth, shaking. She thought that was the end, that it was all over they'd both died a horrible splattering death from near the top of Ashia Palace. "Shiro, how? How - Shiro, I'm sorry, I wanted to protect you..." She was trembling and feeling horrible all over. How had they survived? How was this possible? But then she saw her tutor glaring at her from the floor, not even bothering to unpack his bag of teaching material for this session.

"How?" Ellie asked in a croaky voice. "How did we-" And Corren shrugged, looking incredibly cross and disappointed in her as he usually did. He straightened his collar but his sandy hair glistened with dampness, as if he'd been outside a while ago, for who knows what. "You were late for your lessons again, Princess Narcia." He said, disappointment leaking from every word. "So I had to go looking for you, finding you passed out, so I had your servant get us tea and I placed you in bed." He gestured at the tea, drinking from his own cup. "It's quite delectable. Perhaps you should try being a more responsible Princess to repay Shiro." Ellie shrunk in shame, she felt horrible for what happened. "You need to eat more. Perhaps then you wouldn't be anemic and lose consciousness sporadically." The lecture went on and on until finally, Corren stared at her solemnly, seriously, as if waiting.

"My apologies-" But he wouldn't hear it, he cut her off with another angry glare. "Did you finish your homework assignment?" He asked and Ellie didn't remember what he was talking about for a moment. "It's the most important lesson of your life, Princess. It's a problem you must solve" And then she remembered. The Aine question. Where had she gone wrong? What did she do - or fail to do - that sealed her fate? Ellie scratched at her hair, feeling ashamed that she still hadn't come to an answer as of yet, and from the look on the tutor's face, she knew she'd disappointed him further.

"Then we have nothing further to discuss." Corren stood up, folding up his bag and slinging it over his back. For some reason his movements seemed rushed and there was the barest hint of anxiety in his tone. "Tomorrow, I expect an answer." But Ellie reached out and took his hand and he pulled back from her, face twisting in a way she didn't recognize or understand. "...What's wrong? Is there a problem?" The scholar seemed to take a few moments to hesitate, deliberating, but then spoke. "One of my servants ran away and I've yet to find her. I'm sure it's of no concern for a princess like you." Ellie was annoyed, she was angry. Why did he seem to think she was some stuck up spoiled princess that didn't care about anyone? "Archon, I-" And then he sent her another glare, this one more painful than the rest.

"There's a heavy downpour down on the Untouchable Tier and my servant might grow ill and die if I don't find her." There was urgency in his voice. "Perhaps if your head wasn't up in the clouds you'd have noticed the problems of those below you." And with that he left in a huff and Ellie felt horrible again. She turned to Shiro, a pile of misery and she curled up on the bed. "...How? How do I do better, Shiro? How do I help everyone?"

"Go away. Please, just go. I have to find Cress." Aya spun dizzily on her feet, shooting at something behind her but she couldn't tell what it was, if it was even a person anymore. She was so tired, her mind was a hazy pain in her head and between her legs, she was stumbling and twisting in the wind of the storm yet somehow she managed to stay on her own two feet, feeling another burst of strength going through her. The blonde rebel was shivering and she huddled further against her jacket, clinging to it and the gun for dear life. She couldn't give up, not yet, she couldn't fall down even if her legs were wobbly and her eyes wanted to close, not yet, not until she saved Cress. It was desperation, it was horrible, Cress was probably being hurt by the evil man, maybe he was torturing her insides and touching her and doing all sorts of bad things and Aya she - she just - she just wanted to find her friend again, she just wanted to make sure she was safe and for them to have fun times again. Aya cried though it was impossible to tell she was crying as the rain washed away her tears. "Leave me alone." The girl whimpered as she heard something - it might've been a voice, it might've been the wind howling at her, she didn't know anymore. "I have... I gotta find Cress, she's hurting, I can't - I - I won't -" Aya felt herself falling so she stuck the gun under her, using it to steady her again. Her legs were shaking from either weakness or cold and her whole body was sore as she tumbled through the Untouchable Tier.

Still no sign of her fiery friend, not even the smallest hint of where she could be. She wouldn't give up, she would never ever give up because she knew Cress wouldn't give up either. Aya was going to be strong, she was going to be a hero like Cress was, she was going to prove that she was a good teammate, good backup, that she could do anything she wanted, even if she was a Rubble, even if she was the unfavored twin, the twin no one liked, the twin everyone wished was dead so they could have the happier, prettier twin live on instead. Kora - but no, she was Aya now, right? She was Aya, she was her sister? The girl clutched at her head, trying to block out the noises, trying to make sense of her head.

Aya didn't know when it was that she collapsed, but when she fell, she found that she no longer had the strength to keep struggling, to keep trying. She huddled under her jacket, hating herself for being so weak, hating herself for being unable to find and save Cress, fating her body for feeling so cold as the rain filled her to the bone. The blonde rebel quivered and moaned, no, she couldn't just give up, she still had more strength, she could still keep fighting. Even if her legs were rubber she still had her nails, she still had her anger, so she clawed at the ground, clawed, to keep moving, to keep searching for her friend. Her fingers went raw, her nails broke and cracked and bled and everything was in pain but she kept clawing, digging, dragging her useless bottom half. She still had her will to fight, so she wouldn't give up. Even if she was coughing and moaning she wouldn't give up. Even if someone lifted her up by the arms and cradled her and put her on a bike that felt so painfully familiar, Aya didn't give up, she kept trying to claw her way off the person that lifted her, she tried to yell and shout and ask for Cress but her voice didn't work and her whole body was a map of pain.

And so the girl's unconscious body was taken to the Tower Tier, dried, stripped and then placed on a bed, cared for by a certain little girl that was rescued from being a servant, with another woman nearby, forming strategies and plots for the rebellion ahead. But in the sleeping girl's dreams, she was still fighting, she was still struggling, she was still searching for Cress and crying because she couldn't find her, because she knew she was getting farther and farther away.

|| Flaws || Bastille ||

When Cress awoke the room was mercifullly quiet, she was still in bed, her chest still hurting from the defibrillator and her ears hurting from how Itward had pulled them. She managed to pull herself up to lean against the wall and tilted her head back. She knew it was only time before he came again, this peace wouldn't last but for now Cress could relish the quiet, dark room, one of the skylights streaming in a bit of sunlight so it wasn't totally dark. There was rain, she could hear, it pounded against the ceiling seeming to shake with rage, just like her. She pulled her legs in, unable to move her arms much and leaned her chin on her knees, her stomach growling.

The door creaked open, tiny footsteps pattering like each raindrop, carrying in a plate of food, same red hair shared with her other siblings. She stepped in as silently as she could, but relaxed upon seeing the prisoner had awoken. She placed the plate of what seemed to be an eel-based dish in front and stood at a bit of a distance. Her eyes seemed to show concern though it was impossible to really tell what the silent girl was thinking. She had more cooling pads in her arms and held them out in an offer if there was still residual pain from being revived, watching Cress carefully.

Cress held out her bound arms. "A little help?" She asked, knowing the girl would probably get in trouble if she unbound her. She wasn't expecting to be, she just couldn't feed herself the way she was tied down. She hated being dependent on people, on a little girl who had been horribly wronged. Cress would make it right, she would kill Itward and bring Nio to Serpina so that he could take care of her. Plotting Itward's demise was what kept her together, when he was touching her the only thoughts in her head were the life slowly being choked out of his body.

The girl blinked and discomfort flashed on her face for a moment. She pushed the plate closer and mimed eating by mouth, an apologetic downward tilt of the head. She then went to the restraints, loosening them just enough so that Cress could reach with her face but giving no more leeway. She then unwrapped the coolant pads and placed them over her chest, fastening them in place with the adhesive at the tips of each pad. She wasn't technically allowed to do it, but Nio wanted to help a little bit, she didn't like seeing the prisoner in pain even in peace time, but there was no need for Cress to know it was unauthorized. With a slightly nervous face she pulled away and watched in case Cress needed anything else. If there was a way for her to convey that she would fix her brother, she would heal him and make him nice again, she would have said so, but that was impossible to communicate.

Cress leaned forward, no doubt this was Itward's order to make her feel like an animal. She picked up a piece of the dish in her mouth, the texture interesting in her mouth. It was sweet and salty, almost like eating a snake; she chewed thoughtfully, swallowing and picking up another piece. Cress coughed, choking. "Shoot, do you have water?" She asked, the food stuck in her throat from eating too quickly.

The girl glanced up at the ceiling, at the rain, then felt bad for making the joke. She bowed and nodded and pattered her way out of the room, returning with a glass of water. More anxiety was on her face but only for a moment - hopefully no one noticed the subtle dash of pain-killing powder added, with sugar to try and hide it. She held it to Cress's mouth, a gentle slope, letting her drink at her own pace.

Cress chuckled and shook her head, "Thanks, but I think I'd have a hard time getting to that." She said with a gentle smile, reminded of Aya. She watched Nio shuffle away and then the girl came back with a glass. Cress drank slowly so that she wouldn't choke, noticing the water had a bit of a sweet quality. When she finished Cress gave Nio a nod, noticing that the discomfort had left. "Thanks," she said, using her elbows to gesture inwards to the cold packs. "I know you probably aren't allowed to do this." Cress said quietly, wondering where Itward had gone. She didn't want him to come back; hopefully he had gotten hit by a pod or maybe fallen off the edge of the tier.

Nio nudded, a little glad at the recognition but not exactly needing it either. Unfortunately this peace didn't last as the door to the mansion was slammed open. Nio glanced at the packs, then decided to leave them on, hearing her brother yelling for her to tend to him. She dashed out to prepare a warm bath and food, leaving Cress alone in the dark room. After about half an hour, the door to the room opened, and it was Itward yet again, a look of irritation and anger clear on his face from whatever the meeting with the Queen entailed. He stared at Cress, wanting an outlet for his frustration, and then his eyes trained on the attempt of care Nio had done, turning and shouting something at his sister. She scampered off and then it was just Itward and Cress. He began the day by punching the rabbit across the cheek, panting. "I. Fucking. Hate. That . Tyrant. Bitch." He growled. "And that stupid smug princess, too."

Cress's head snapped to the side from the punch, she could taste blood no doubt from biting her tongue so Cress spit at him. "Don't talk about my cousin that way asshole." She growled, feeling feisty. She wanted to punch him harder, to show him how much she could make it hurt but the binds wouldn't let her. "Coward, take these off so I can really give you a taste of misery."

Itward grinned with pleasure at the punch, at how she spat blood in resistance. This was what he needed, after that stupid getting-into-head session earlier and then with the Queen and he just needed something to go his way for once. "You're nothing like that ice bitch, you know." He ignored her challenge. "She sat there, smiling the whole time, but you're made of fire. You're different." He pulled at the bandaged rabbit ear - Nio's work, most likely - tearing until more blood dripped from it, glowering at the girl before him. "...That reminds me. There was a rumor once, of a second princess. From whatever description there was, you sure seem like a match." He snickered. "Hah. No wonder you piss me off. You're related to the tyrant slut, aren't you?" (e)

Cress cried out in pain as he pulled on the rabbit ear. He was looking hunting for a fight and Cress was too stupid to give it to him. "Some say the world will end in fire," Cress spoke through grit teeth. "Others say in ice. I should think that both would be nice," it was a warning, a testament to the fact that his world was going to collapse, that he would get pummelled from every angle. "I'm not a Princess, don't compare me to them. Narcia is too good for you, don't think for a second I'll let you have her."

"I already have you as my pet, and she doesn't fight nearly as hard." He smirked at the threat, knowing his only real threat came from the Queen. The Princess couldn't stand against him, she didn't have the allies or the resources to take him out alone. And the rabbit was a toy, a thing that existed for his pleasure, and perhaps more if he so decided. This time he grabbed at one of her mounds, squeezing the tip as hard as he could, crushing that sensitive spot with a voracious smile full of malice. "Nee deserves to be broken." Itward growled like a mad dog. "She ran away to Earth, she never had to see what I did, do what I did. And she thinks she can act all superior." He then ran a hand down Cress's spine. "But don't worry. I'll still play with you once she's mine. You're too delicious to pass up."

"You think she had a choice in any of this?" Cress was getting angrier by the second, she moved her shoulder around, trying to find a way out of the stupid binds. Ellie wouldn't fall for it, Cress wasn't going to let Itward get his hands on her. He reached out then, ripping off one of the bandaids on her chest and squeezing that section as hard as he could. "Stop that!" She barked, realizing how stupid it was to yell that, that now he would know how truly sensitive her mounds were. "Nee didn't want to be sent away, it was that wicked witch of a Queen who orchastrated it all." Cress wasn't sure if she was right, but she figured it wouldn't take too much guess work to find out the truth. His hand was on her spine, fingers running down towards her tail. Goose bumps raised on her flesh and she tried to scooch back but she was already pressed against the wall. "Don't touch me!"

She yelled for him to stop, so naturally, he tore of the bandaid and crushed both of them with all of his might, lingering, and then he yelled for Nio to retrieve some toys for use. These were primitive, and the girl's eyes were dull and empty, unlike her animatedness earlier as she brought forth clothespins. Itward put them on the peaks, three per, and let them hang there, flicking them downwards to test the pain. "Stupid." He smirked. She really just exposed her weak point so easily? "Should've made Nee kill Aine." His head hurt as he said it so he shook his head, not wanting to go back to that place. "She abandoned me just like everyone else did." He was becoming agitated again, he had to cool down, so he pressed a hand down between her legs again, remembering last night. "The way you shook when we were done, you can't deny you liked it." He scoffed smugly, relishing the victory. "I made you feel good in a way only a man could. An animal like you probably prefers it rougher, huh?" (e)

He was twisting them, making it hard to breath, hard to think. Her heart beat faster, she was breathing harder as he gained satisfaction from her pain. "D-Don't," it accidentally came out as an almost moan and Cress quickly stopped herself so that he wouldn't get the wrong idea. She did not like this, it hurt. He called for his sister and Nio came in with six clothspins. It didn't take much guess work to know where he was going to put them and she cried out in pain when he flicked one downwards, the tugging sensation making her feel sick. "I hate you," she growled, "don't you dare touch me." Her head was spinning, her body was working against her again, getting excited for no reason at all. No, she didn't like this; why wasn't her body listening to her mind? A blush sprang to her cheeks and she tried to hide it. "I'll kill you-" Cress said quickly, "Don't you dare!"

This was better, this was how it was meant to be. The girl was at his mercy, not the other way around. He was in control here, no one else! Her blush as pleasure began mounting, her moan, but also the pain that sparked from the pins that pinched on the sensitive spot felt good, it was euphoric. Itward needed more of this, he needed more of her cute little threats, helpless against his will. "Fine, you'll have a small mercy." He plucked one of the pins out, yanking it off instead of unclasping it. And then he placed it on her special spot, clamping down with a face of wicked pleasure. "There's better, isn't it? It feels nice, right?" And then he placed his fingers at her sides, deciding to try something new and exciting, and fun for everyone. He started tickling her without mercy. "Do hold in your bladder, unless you want more augments. Humans can hold it in, can't they?"

He was enjoying this far too much, Cress decided. What if she were Nio? Is this what he did to his poor little sister when he had no servants to torture? The thought made her heart clench painfully. If that was it then she'd take it, she'd do it for Nio so that the girl didn't have to be subjected to Itward's hands prowling across her body; or perhaps it was only her overactive imagination attempting to come up with some sort of compensation for going through this. "T-take it off!" Finally he took one off and Cress cried out in pain as he pulled it, sighing in relief as the worst one was off. It didn't last long though, he spread her legs, putting it somewhere much, much worse. She yelped, wiggling, trying to make it stop. "Take it off!" She screamed, "P-please, it hurts! Take it off!" Cress had never thought she would beg. White hot pain was crawling through her legs, but her body continued betraying her, becoming excited despite the pain. He was saying things, it was hard to hear through the pain. He told her to hold it unless she wanted more augments. No- Cress didn't want anymore; she had no idea what other sort of augmentations they made but Cress didn't want to find out. So she held it, squeezing her legs together as hard as she could even though she hadn't been allowed to pee all day and had just drank a cup of water.

It seemed like it was working, her death threats had stopped, turning into pleas and begs and cries. The girl tried to resist, tried to save herself from future augmentation but Itward was determined to win. How could he not, when the girl's body was already heaving with desire yet again? "You like the pain. Just like a dog." He purred as he continued the tickling, continued the torment. And just to make things worse, he called for Nio again. "Get some water." He ordered. "I'm sure the new family pet's quite thirsty." So as his fingers continued stroking and digging and attacking her body, Nio brought another cup, pouring the water in at a faster pace than before, eyes downcast as she did so. And so the tickling continued, but he decided to mix a new element in, just to keep Cress sharp. He relieved one hand and then used it to flick the pin attached to her special spot, watching the pin bounce from the flick before turning his attention back to tickling, to trying to reduce her to an animal.

"No!" She mewled as he tickled, her cheeks flushed bright pink. "S-stop!" She tried to wiggle him off of her, she tried squeezing her legs together to get the pin off, but both actions were useless. "I am not a dog!" She managed to growl, somehow her body finding it an appropriate time to release a giggle. "S-stop!" She tried again, stuttering as his hands ran up and down her sides. Nio came and he stopped only to make Cress drink a cup of water. Then he continued and it was getting harder, Nio brought another cup, making Cress drink it faster. Her stomach was a bit swollen from her pee belly, but she didn't want to go. Cress was not going to lose control, she was not going to let him win. Then one of his hands lifted and she thought it was finally over only for his hand to begin flicking something he shouldn't have. Her cheeks turned even redder and she shook her head, trying to press her legs together to make him stop. "Get off of me!" But it came out as an unintentional moan. "I-I'll kill you!"

He was winning, gaining the advantage, her cheeks become more and more flushed as the game continued and Itward knew this girl wouldn't last much longer. Of course, he wasn't an evil man, he always allowed for options, for ways out if it was too much. "There's a way to make me stop." He said invitingly as he continued tickling her, exploring her most tickle-sensitive spots without mercy or kindness. "It's easy, Cress. All you have to do is beg. Beg me to stop, beg me to save you, and to go after Nee instead." He licked his lips. "But make it convincing, because the augments I have in mind are.... quite appealing. My hopes are up, you see." He ordered Nio to toy with the pins on her chest as he handled the tickling and so the girl did, toying and tweaking every so often, refusing to look, a luminescent red on the girl's face. Itward was going to win, he felt the heat rising in his chest. This girl would break like all the rest.

"Don't touch her! I'll kill you! I'll cut off your foot and make you eat it!" She threatened, but it didn't sound like much of a threat as she giggled right after, tears in her eyes from crying. "My cousin is off limits," That's right, Cress would preserve, she would keep fighting if it meant keeping Ellie safe. This was the least Cress could do; she remembered getting into scrapes as a child for Ellie, coming home with bruises and cuts and Ellie would always tsk and shake her head just like Auntie and then tend to her. To remembered warm summer days where she taught Ellie to climb trees like her father had taught her, and remembered catching Ellie before she could fall. "If this is what it takes to protect her then I don't care!" Cress had an idea, she angled herself slightly and then released her bladder so that it went all over Itward. She was breathing hard, her legs quivering slightly at the relief from finally releasing the pain that had built up in her bladder. Then Cress was really laughing, he had thought he had won yes, but Cress counted this as her victory.

Itward grinned as her threats started again, punctuated by giggles and tears. She was grasping to maintain sanity but she wouldn't keep it. "All this, for what?" He asked invitingly, soothingly. "She'll never realize your sacrifice. It'll all be for nothing, you stupid rabbit." The assault continued, becoming more and more vigorous, the girl didn't have much left in her, and her cheeks were the color he liked most on a girl. "You can never tell with ice types. She probably kept you around for protection, and smiled at you so you'd happily wag your tail for her sake, all the while dancing to her strings. Nee never cared, not about anyone." And then Cress angled herself, Itward too busy in his taunting to notice - but Nio did and she jumped in front, burning with shame and love both. And that pissed Itward off almost as much as the talk this morning had. "Go clean yourself up, Nio." He growled, then grabbed at Cress's throat, choking her, straddling her. "You'd relieve yourself on a child, you disgusting animal!" Then he laughed, one of evil and rage both. "When you next wake from the augments, you won't even see the human in you anymore!" (e)

"That was your fault!" Cress growled, why that little girl kept protecting Itward Cress had no idea. "If you hadn't taken her voice she would still be human!" She spat at him, "Instead you took it away, you took her will to fight so that you could keep her as your pet! You're the real animal here!" Fear made it hard to breath. Why did he want to change her body so badly? She was afraid fo waking up to find she had suddenly turned into Aine. That wouldn't make sense though, he said human meaning... Oh God, what sort of augments did this monster have in mind? Something weird was happening, her collar made it hard to breath and she choked, trying to inhale. She glared at Itward, struggling with everything she could until darkness overtook her and she was afraid she was losing her mind.

Archon had found them, Shiro hadn't moved. She was holding the Princess's hand, sobbing. "What happened?" He asked, clearly disapproving of the informal touch. "She-she fainted," Shiro sniffled. Archon frowned at the puddle she had made, that she was still sitting in. "I'll take care of her, go clean yourself up and prepare some tea." He said gently and lifted Nee into his arms. "Y-yes th-thank you," Shiro shuddered, wiping her eyes as Archon walked away. Shiro stood, doing her best to clean up what remained of her little accident with her dress and then hurriedly went back to her room, stripping the dress off and throwing it into the waste bin. She drew a bath, not having realized that she was shivering until she sank into the tub, hugging her knees to her chest. No doubt the Princess was cold too, Shiro would prepare an extra special brew so that the Princess didn't catch a chill.

Shiro dressed in a warmer outfit and remembered the Queen's warning. She put shoes on and then headed to make some tea, bringing the tea cart from the kitchen and to the bedroom. "Excuse me Sir Archon I must ask you to wait in the drawing room while I change my mistress to ensure she doesn't fall ill." He left and Shiro wiggled Nee out of her clothing, hanging them up to dry. Without much thinking about it she replaced the Princess's undergarments and put her in a nice gown with long sleeves that went to the floor. Once Nee was decent and she was tucked into bed Shiro went to fetch Archon. "Please allow me to pour you tea to show my gratitude. Unfortunately it's the only way I can express my thanks." He had a sort of sad smile, but he nodded and allowed Shiro to pour it.

"One of my servants ran off into the rain today." He admitted, glowering at his tea cup. "Was it Aine?" Shiro asked as she served him a tea cake. He seemed startled, "how did you know?" Shiro put the serving fork down and smiled gently, "She didn't seem too happy when I spoke to her yesterday." Shiro replied and Archon seemed surprised that Shiro had the intelligence to notice such things. Of course, it was her duty to notice when someone had discomfort, how else was she supposed to know when the Princess was hurting then? "Thank you for saving her." Archon made a noise, almost like a scoff, saying that this wasn't saving, but he made Shiro promise that he would owe her a favor later on. "Yes! Anything!" Shiro agreed with a smile. What damage could one little favor do?

When Nee finally awoke, Shiro was by her side, holding one of her hands and sitting on the floor as she awaited for her Princess to awaken. "Princess!" Shiro gasped in relief. She got to her feet quickly, moving out of the way so that she could speak to Archon whose only concern seemed to be whether or not Nee had completed her homework. Homework? Shiro wondered, thinking back to the day before when she had come in after Archon had left with the fake Aine. Was that what the Princess had been doing before the entire ordeal with the Queen's punishment? Oh no! It was Shiro's fault that the Princess was failing then! Shiro would have to try harder than, she couldn't be such trouble for the Princess.

Shiro climbed onto the bed beside the Princess. She took the Princess's hands and looked sincere, "Sometimes even changing one life at a time can make a very big difference." Shiro said quietly. She was referring to everything the Princess had done for her. Shiro was the one who was supposed to be taking care of Nee and yet the older girl seemed to do much more for Shiro than the servant could ever have hoped. "You're doing your best Princess," then Shiro had an idea and she smiled, clasping the Princess's hands in her own. "What if you went down to the Rubble tier to hand out presents? That might help!" Blankets and toys, things lying around the castle that they had in abundance that could make even the smallest difference. It would also be a way to win her people's favor.
