ImageFull Name: Sabre Sylvern
γ€€γ€€γ€€
Nicknames and Aliases: Nothing anyone else called him was particularly complimentary.

Species: Werecat
γ€€γ€€γ€€
Gender: Male
γ€€γ€€γ€€
Age: 20

Primary Magic: Shapeshifting

ImageHair Color: Silver Blond
γ€€γ€€γ€€

γ€€γ€€γ€€
Height: 6 ft
γ€€γ€€γ€€
Weight: 200 lbs

Tattoos/Piercings/Scars: He never felt a need to pierce or tattoo his body, but he does have as few light scars on his face, neck, arms, and legs from the way he lived most of his life. Both his hands and feet are also callused.
γ€€γ€€γ€€
General Description of Body Type: In human form, Sabre is above average for a human, but short compared to his ancestors who averaged seven feet tall. Humans killed most of the taller werecats, leaving only short survivors. Other distinctive traits of his kind still present are pointed ears covered with a thin layer of downy gray fur that he usually hides under the shoulder-length hair on his head and retractable gray claws in his hands as both a human and feline.

His human form is also very muscular but he doesn't look like a body-builder. He's built more like a dancer or runner, slim but certainly not frail. His legs are long and his feet seem wide with longer toes. He prefers loose-fitting clothing that can't restrict his movement or make him feel confined. In keeping with an aversion to confinement, he prefers to go without shoes unless there's a risk of frostbite.

His feline form is a light silvery grey with darker grey spots on his back and shoulders and three rows of bars on all four legs. In this form he has a stubby tail and the fur on his pointed ears is thicker than when in human form with tufts of black. Generally his feline form is a light-colored bobcat, but it's slightly larger than a normal bobcat. The larger size and blue eyes that match his human form distinguish him as a werecat. Normal bobcat's eyes are yellow. Image

ImagePersonality:
{Passionate/Aggressive/Dedicated/Distrustful/Self-Conscious}
Sabre's passion and dedication to people and things he likes can be overwhelming to other people. To people and things he dislikes, he's just as passionate and can be frightening in that passion. When overly stressed out or tired, he also has the capacity to be aggressive and behave more like an animal than a man, even in human form. Because he fears that tendency, and also from certain events in his life, he doesn't trust people right away and tries to keep to himself. Unfortunately, on this mission he doesn't have the choice to avoid his teammates, but if any of them can gain his trust, he'll give everything he has to protect them.
Likes/Loves:
  • Being outside
  • Fish and Fishing
  • Hunting
  • Fighting
  • Anyone who gains his trust
  • Meat
Dislikes/Hates:
  • Vegetables
  • Anyone who hurts him or his friends
  • Strangers
  • Closed Spaces
  • Dogs or wolves
  • Shoes
  • Being confined

Strengths:
Shapeshifting|As a werecat, he has no fewer than two forms, a human one and feline one. He can shift between the two at will. Unlike traditional werewolves, the full moon has no effect on a pureblood and natural-born werecat, which he is.
Enhanced Senses| Three of his five senses are stronger than humans; hearing is his best sense, but he also has a better sense of smell and perfect night vision.
Quick reflexes and agility| He's a cat. That's what they're known for.
Survival skills|Growing up in the wilderness, he had to learn how to live off the land.

Weaknesses:
Stress|Sabre doesn't deal with stress well. He can become aggressive under stress and may shift into his feline form without warning. That's the only time he can't control his shifting.
Social Anxiety|Because of a traumatic event as a child, he doesn't naturally trust other people and is extremely uncomfortable in large groups. He desperately needs personal space.
Claustrophobia|Closed spaces make him feel confined, and again personal space is important to him. He can live in a house, but he needs to always have easy access to the way out.
Social Skills| Manners and human interaction are some things he never learned.
His sister|Since they were orphaned, he has never been separated from his sister and will do anything to make her happy.

ImageHistory: Even after the truce between humans and Noraneko citizens, some were treated as animals or monsters. The werecats Sabre descended from were among them. As such, he grew up in mountains and forests where his father taught him how to live off the land by hunting and fishing, and identifying edible plants. His mother died of a sickness she didn't trust human doctors to treat, only weeks after his younger sister Luna was born. For twelve years of his life there were just the three of them, and nobody else was necessary. Those were peaceful years until some hunters, poachers actually, killed his father for a fur coat. Sabre was twelve and Luna was seven.

When child services found out about the orphans, they were both dragged kicking and screaming from the only home they knew and thrown into a storm of humanity called a group home. Despite knowing how to take care of themselves by living off the land, the law states that no one under eighteen is allowed to live alone. Murder of his father and forced removal of the only home he knew was Sabre's official introduction to human civilization. It also induced both kits first stress shift. It took a grand total of five weeks for Sabre to recover.

Somehow he survived the following six years and Luna with him. Luna refused to go anywhere without him, but no one except her wanted him around. He was too old for most people looking to adopt, and a dangerous wild animal to those who witnessed his stress shift. Recently Luna's discovered a hidden talent of hers, and moved into an accelerated program for her to polish and perfect that talent. It also offers free room and board while she studies. She's so excited about this program, that she is finally ready to let him go. He's worried about her, but she deserves this happiness and he can't refuse. Without Luna, he's not sure where he belongs. A mission to restore Noraneko, the home of his ancestors, gives him a new purpose and a chance to actually use those skills his father taught him long ago. He just hopes he hasn't lost the knowledge.

Kora didn't mean physical strength, she said that Cress was strong mentally. Cress could feel herself blushing again, it was like all she did lately around these two was blush. Kora said that Cress's hands were clean but they certainly didn't feel that way. With how her body was violated, how she was torn apart and put back together, used and manipulated. How could she ever be clean? Perhaps the fire burned everything away. She was ashes and bones, a toxic storm that no one could touch or else they would get burned. Everyone tried to change the fire, to use it to build something, to smother it, to change how it flickered or danced. They couldn't though. Cress would never allow them to contain it. They could trap her inside of her own body and yet the fire still burned with the intensity of the sun. Perhaps that was the strength Kora was referring to, the kind that everyone but Cress could see.

Kora tried to assure the red eyed girl that her chest would get bigger once she was healthy but Cress wasn't so sure. "I hope... so." Cress murmured, not wanting to remain flat. Girls had a sense of pride about their chests that Cress had lost while her's diminished. Heron pounced on them then, soaping the three of them up. "I'll need to scrub extra since someone still a little girl." Heron said as she soaped Cress every which way, going around tubes and lingering where she didn't need to. "Move your... hand." Cress said, weakly pushing Heron's hand away, but the knight persisted. "But you've been sitting on Kora's lap and Kora's extra dirty." So Heron pursued the legs of both of them with the bar of soap.

Once they were out and Heron had wrapped them all in towels, the knight carried Cress to the bed, redressing her in the bra and pajama pants laid out before reconnecting her to the machines and then putting the helmet on her head. Cress closed her eyes and when she opened them the hologram flickered to life just in time to hear that Nee and Shiro were doing it. "It's not our business," Cress said, trying to flick Heron's forehead but her fingers went right through. Heron had that perverted grin on her face, "I didn't know that Nee was into that kind of stuff." There was probably a lot they didn't know about Nee but Cress didn't mention those things.

Cress was actually glad for Nee, she was glad that Nee had found love, she was glad that Shiro had loved Nee back and had given her sister someone to hold onto. Then Heron pointed out that their free time wouldn't last forever, that soon the two knights would have to go fight on Frelia's territory and Cress would stay here and worry about their well being, the only contact being the helmet and the little disc that Heron carried in her pocket. Cress smiled a little, she was glad that the two were going to go down the honorable route and Cress was confident that the two would come back in one piece.

"I'll be waiting here for both of you." Cress said, rocking back and forth on her heels. "In the meantime though we should enjoy our time together." Yes, there was a ball coming up after all. Cress hoped that Nee and Corren would allow her to attend too. It had been a while since she had last seen anything aside from these the four walls that confined her to this bedroom. Outside there was a whole wonderful world but Cress was a prisoner here, body tethered to the lifelines that kept her from getting worse.

Shiro's body quivered against Nee's, soft moans filling the air. Their bodies and breaths were in sync and for a moment everything else melted away. Narcia had claimed Shiro body and mind and as the pup closed her eyes, knowing that she was Nee's and no one else's. It was a possessiveness that Shiro didn't mind, a shaking that wasn't fear. When it was over Shiro felt cold as their bodies disentangled from one another and Shiro replaced her undergarments onto her body. There was a knock on the door and Shiro bundled herself in a blanket since she had come without real clothes. One of the palace cleaners had seen Ellis and Shiro's pacifier in the room and thought to brought it over just in case. Once the worker was gone Shiro retired the ribbon around her neck and hugged Ellis tightly to her.

It was amazing how one could go from child to adult and back in a mere hour. Nee called her over and Shiro went to her, dragging the blanket along with her. "What is it?" Shiro asked as she looked at the screen. It was a map of the several territories surrounding Ashia Palace. Ashia had control of the giant lake that their island rested on, therefore they made profit and alliances by distributing the water supply. Every nation had something to contribute to one another, that was why they had stayed together. Even with the war raging trade remained open, although Shiro had no idea why.

"How do we do that?" Shiro wriggled in her seat, even with the blanket covering her she couldn't help but feel cold without actual clothes. They would have to divert supplies and emergency rations as well in case of a worst case scenario. "There are services tunnels," Shiro had traveled through them once when the Queen had first brought her into the castle. Or at least that's how the story was told to her. Were there still labs down there? Were they shut down, the children freed? Or had the Queen killed everyone in her secret lab in order to keep them quiet? Did Nee even know about the things that went on down there? Had the lab ever been real in the first place?

Shiro had vague memories of bright lights, a tag on her ankle, needles, the smell of antiseptic. The mistrust of doctors had been so finely engraved into her body and mind that even Shiro even felt wary around Corren and Maven, even though she knew that they had no bad intentions. "The service tunnels go from the Sanitary Tier and up because Queen Narina didn't want want to have to see their white jumpsuits scattered throughout the Tiers in public." She knew that the previous Queen had believed that the people of the Sanity Tier were less than human, that they equated to animals which was why even the Rubbles treated Sanitary workers below them.

"I don't know," Shiro admitted, shaking her head. "I didn't even know it could do that." Shiro wouldn't doubt that Queen Narina had kept no such things in case of her demise. She probably wanted to be the only one that could control Ashia Palace.

When Nee said she looked good, Cress grinned. "It feels... lighter." Without all that hair bogging her down, keeping her head up was easier. Both physically and metaphorically. When the clock began to ring, Heron grabbed the handles of the wheelchair. Cress was a bit sad to be returning already, even though the others were clearly anxious to return to Ashia Palace. Cress wanted to stay here though and explore some more, there was a whole wide forest with animals and plants to catalog and take photos of. Cress knew she couldn't do that alone though, not in her condition. Besides, Nee wouldn't let her stay in this place, she would want Cress to be at her side, especially now. The war had just ended, it was time to rebuild both Ashia Palace and Tartaria.

The walk back was quick paced, they were a bit farther from the palace than they had originally thought and the pod to take them to the loading docks was there, waiting. Once inside, they began the short drive through the top level of the city, going to the underground space beneath the lake where the Agneystra was waiting to be boarded. The crew was doing final checks, loading the extra cargo of soil and seeds as well as other things purchased in Coriandrum. Heron rolled Cress up the ramp, where Kora was waiting to great them. She looked better, her skin at least was no longer that bright shade of pansy pink, but had returned to a normal, peach complexion. "I'm so... glad you're... okay!" Cress said upon being wheeled up to her. Sitting in a chair, even Kora was taller than her. She was developing into a woman, even Cress could see that.

Kora was going to be quite the looker in a few years and something told Cress that Heron wouldn't be able to resist. Almost instinctively Cress looked down at her own chest, which had become flat with the weight loss. Corren said it would come back, but it was more a blow to her pride than anything. Yes, Cress would never be pretty or beautiful. Those sorts of words didn't describe her boyish figure and short hair. Cress was brought out of her thoughts when Kora apologized for worrying them all earlier. Cress smiled, trying to make Kora not feel bad. "It's okay... you were... sad." She hoped that Kora was better now, able to adjust without the second voice in her head. "Maybe you... should talk... to Nee." Cress said a bit quieter than before.

Cress knew that Kora wasn't Nee's biggest fan, but Narcia had gone through the same thing with Ellie. "She had... two voices... in her head." Now there was only one, although sometimes Cress could swear she could still see her cousin in there sometimes. It was in the way Nee looked tenderly at Shiro, the love in her eyes and her pride for her inventions. They were all aspects of her cousin that Cress didn't think she would ever see again. Yet they were there, subtle reminders to Cress of who she had lost. Kora pulled something out, a gaming system of some sort from the Etrurian kingdom. Cress looked at Nee, who mouthed a single word and she smiled, nodding her head. It was a movie, but more than that, an interactive one.

They gathered around it, Heron lifted Cress up and transferred her to a chair, moving the wheelchair somewhere out of the way and putting on the breaks so that it didn't roll this way and that when the ship rocked. A three hour journey, it would be much faster than the way there which had taken nearly six hours since they had been going slowly so as no to attract attention from Tartarian war dragons. A sound from the game brought her attention. Heron had grabbed the controls, no doubt wanting to further interact with the scantily clad holo figure. Nee commanded that Heron hand over the remote and killed off the girl, which made Heron upset.

Cress giggled, she wasn't sure why, but she found this to be incredibly funny. The giggling soon turned to coughs and Cress doubled over, trying to stop the fit. "I'm okay," she said, sitting back up so that they didn't worry about her and would continue playing the virtual reality game.

The ship would be taking off in ten minutes. According to Nee, the flight back would be three hours long, which gave them plenty of time to relax and do things at their leisure until they returned to Ashia Palace, where the hustle and bustle would begin. There was to be so much planning and fixing, further improving the tiers. There was also going to be a search and the thought of meeting her parents face to face made her nervous. After all this time, she would finally get to know the reason they had abandoned her that day. Shiro snuggled Elllis, standing beside Nee as Kora said that she was doing better. They were in the front of the ship, the cockpit, was what Shiro believed it was called. "It's good that everyone's together again." Shiro smiled, although secretly she was more worried about whether Kora was losing to Heron.

"I think everyone is a lot happier as a group than apart." It was true wasn't it? They all seemed so much brighter together. The trio was whole with Kora, without her there had been an awkward emptiness that Shiro noticed that Heron and Cress no doubt felt. Kora took something out of her pocket, a gaming system from Etruria. Shiro's eyes widened, it was something new she had never seen before. When Kora turned it on, the pup yelped and ran to hide behind Nee, the unexpected flash of light scaring her. It turned out to just be the game and once Shiro realized it, she calmed down, opting to hold Nee's hand instead. She heard a chuckle from some of the crewman that had no doubt saw the pup yelp and whimper.

"I think we're leaving," Shiro said, feeling the floor hum and vibrate as the engines came to life. Had the ten minutes already been up? They had went by rather quickly. While the others played the game, Shiro went to the window, pressing her hands against the glass and standing on tip toes to watch as the ship rose, up, up, leaving the tether behind. The dock inside of the lake split open, the Agneystra taking flight once more. Wren came in then, joining Shiro by the window. "I brought some things," she said and Shiro went with her back over to Nee. "Wedding magazines!" Wren showed Shiro her tablet, which had been choked full of wedding articles, planners, dresses, and other ideas.

Shiro blushed, gently taking the tablet from her. "Thank you Wren," the pup said, flicking through some of the pages. There were so many things Shiro hadn't even begun to think about. "Lunch is being set up in the other room," Wren mentioned, "it should be ready soon." Lunch was another thing Shiro hadn't thought of, she wasn't exactly hungry though. "Are you hungry Ellis?" Shiro asked, giving him a snuggle. She looked up as Nee killed off a character and Heron wailed, wondering why Nee had done such a cruel thing. "If Nee did it then it was probably a good decision!" Shiro defended, not wanting anyone to be angry at her intended.
