Ryuchi Sabashi's Story

The world seemed to go by without so much as a passing glance as Ryuchi walking through them. None of them knew of the world the was hidden in plain sight. Despite how they portray his kind in the media, in literature, very few really understood what it was they were reading or seeing. Giving those who were apart of this truth, peace...

It was carefully planned that way, and now someone who knew, threatened that peace that they've all worked so hard to maintained.

He used to be one of them.


Ryuchi walked down the busy streets, his presence cloaked as he moved through the throngs of New Yorkers, who even if they could see him, wouldn't pay much attention anyway. He hated it here but she was here. That was his goal, his prime directive, protect her at all cost...He made a promise, even if she couldn't remember it.

Ryuchi turned his head sharply at the unmistakable click of a gun's hammer. His haunting green eyes scanned the area and found the Normals going on about their business. He narrowed his eyes, turned the corner just before him. He sighed when he saw the usual, a mugging. A young girl man, no older then 17 was being held up by three men, two of them held her while the other emptied her purse while pointing a gun at her head.

This was not going to end well.

"Let go, Please, Take my purse, it's not much but-" The girl was stopped by a violent slap to the face.

Ryuchi eye twitched and that was enough for him. He darted forward, going unseen, he snapped the arm of the man that slapped her. The girls eyes went as carnage was unleashed before her, without any plausible cause. She shrank against the wall while Ryuchi continued to brutalize her assailants.

It wasn't long before those three men were dead. The girl sat cowering at the wall, her head in her hands.

Ryuchi cracked his neck and sighed. She was clearly in shock, he probably should say something, reveal himself so that she wouldn't think she was going-

Suddenly the girl looked up, darted forward and sent a flurry of kicks his way. Ryuchi dodged despite his confusion,He caught the girl's leg and spun her away from him.


"So this was a set up..." He said.

"You like stating to obvious...?" The girl said, standing up. " Organization....They haven't started them young since me."
"Actually, I''ll be turning 30 in a few months." She said proudly. "Don't jinx yourself." Ryuchi said and before the woman had time to blink, Ryuchi caught her by the throat and rose the girl clear of the ground.

She struggled against his grip. " Th-They said you wouldn't kill me..."

Ryuchi smirked. "You'd be supervised at what you could live through." He said sunk his fangs down in to her neck, allowing her warm blood slid down his throat, filling his body with power. She cried out in pain, thrashing wildly, but Ryuchi didn't let go until she her swings were weak. He let her body dropped and licked his lips, The woman started hyperventilating, holding the wound. " Relax, you've lost alot of blood but you'll survive, providing they come for you, I know they are watching right now, from your top." He said and nodded toward her shirt where they was a tiny camera inside of the button of her stop. The woman just glared at him, holding her throat. " You'd better go to them because aren't coming for you,." he told her and proceeded to exit the alley and got on about his walk, the night was young, not that it mattered, he was a daywalker anyway.

Victoria sat on the steps of her New York home just watching the people walk by. Endless thoughts swarmed her brain from the passer bys. She lit up a cigarette and tried to ignore the constant voices in her head, when suddenly something caught her eye. Across the street and down a bit, she saw some commotion going on inside an alley way. She strained her eyesight to try and get a look at what was going on. She could make out someone being beaten. Thinking it was just a run of the mill mugging, she jumped up to go to the aid of whomever the poor victim was. She sprinted across the busy New York street and scaled the wall before the alley as to not be seen. She peered inside and noticed a tall, broad-shouldered man with long black hair finishing off three hood rat looking men. Victoria jumped back and pressed herself against the wall and gasped. She was witnessing murder. A million thoughts ran through her head. "Should I help her?" "Should I stop him?" "What can I do?" Frozen, she peered back inside the alley and witnessed the end of the carnage. The man appeared to be biting the woman's neck. Was this a rape? Was he going to kill her too? Victoria tried to regain her composure but before she could do so the man exited the alleyway, leaving the woman. Without thinking, she ran after the man. "Hey, you!" She shouted. When the man ignored her she kept following and put her hand on his shoulder. "Yo, I'm talking to you, asshole!" She said, getting agitated with him.

"Hey, You!"

Ryuchi walked on, thinking this new woman couldn't possibly be talking to him...until she touched his shoulder.

"Yo, I'm talking to you, asshole." She barked and in the same moment, Ryuchi spun on a heel and snatched her by the wrist.

The Organization woman being able to see passed his glamour was one thing, they were trained with the Sight: the ability to see what Normals couldn't but this girl, was she born Sighted...or was she another one of the Organization's soldiers...


He grabbed the girl by the throat. "They sent you, didn't they?" He asked, his voice a vicious growl. "How many of you is it going to take for them to realize, I'm not going back?!" He said squeezing some on the girl's throat.

Victoria gasped for air and slowly loosened the man's grip on her throat. She quickly put together the pieces of what he had said. "You dumb shit," she gasped. "I'm not here to take you back to that hell hole." He dropped her and she fell to her knees, trying to catch her breath. "I escaped two years ago, I couldn't take the shit they were trying to breed me to do. I'm on my own. The only reason I came after you was cause you just decimated three dudes and a girl in an alley and I wanted to know what your problem was." She was still breathing heavily and started at him with anger, awaiting a response.

"You dumb shit," Ryuchi arched an eyebrow. "I'm not here to take you back to that hell hole."She said and Ryuchi opened his hand, letting her drop.

"I escaped two years ago, I couldn't take the shit they were trying to breed me to do. I'm on my own." Ryuchi nodded, that story sounded familiar and it also explained her Sight. "The only reason I came after you was cause you just decimated three dudes and a girl in an alley and I wanted to know what your problem was."


Ryuchi chuckled humorlessly.

"That was me dealing the Organization. If you must know. " He said with an arched eyebrow and with that he started walking.

"Besides, she'll live..." He called back but never stopping his stride.

Victoria ran after him, walking beside him but still slightly behind. "Ok," she chuckled. "If those guys were Organization pigs then I'll let it slide. I'm just sorry I didn't join you in kicking their asses." There was a moment of silence as they continued forward. "My name's Victoria by the way. Never thought I'd meet another ex Organizationite," she said with a sarcastic smile.

Ryuchi kept walking as the woman strode up beside him. He looked over causally as she spoke.

"Okay," She laughed. "If those guys were Organization pigs then I'll let it slide."

Ryuchi chuckled.

Sure...

"I'm just sorry I didn't join you in kicking their asses."she said and Ryuchi shook his head and kept walking.

He'd forgotten where he was suppose to be going, so he just decided he'd go back to his apartment. After his ditched his tag-along.

"My name's Victoria by the way. Never thought I'd meet another ex Organizationite." Ryuchi's licked a fang behind his teeth.

"Ryuchi," He stated. "And most don't survive the escape." He said bluntly. There was him and one other during his escape...and he'd almost lost her too....well for all intent and purposes, he did.

"You don't know where she is do you?" Victoria asked, bluntly. "The woman you escaped with? I'm sorry, I can hear thoughts... I don't mean to intrude. Someone helped me as well, but he's gone as well. Perhaps the people we are looking for are together," she said with a chuckle.

"You don't know where she is do you?"

Ryuchi stopped abruptly. "What?" He said sharply.

"The woman you escaped with? I'm sorry, I can hear thoughts....I don't mean to intrude. Someone helped me as well, but he's gone as well. Perhaps the people we are looking for are together." She said chuckling. Ryuchi didn't find the humor.

"I know where she is..." He said, clenching his fist some. She was in New York, so technically it wasn't a lie.

It was then he remembered where he was going.

"You need to stay out of my head...." He said darkly. "I don't even want to be there..." he added and kept walking. Ryuchi, with all his knowledge, all his strength, he couldn't stop his mind from wandering to her.

He was doing this for her...because of her...
He abandoned the thought, he had to stop, especially when he had a thought thief lingering around.

"Why are you following me, exactly?"

It had been a normal day for Rosalie Williams. It was her day off from work, so she walked around the city for most of the day, browsing different stores and meeting up with some friends for lunch, then later went to pick up some groceries. Now it was starting to get dark, so she finished up the last of her grocery shopping and started to head back home.
As she was walking, Rosalie caught a glimpse of a tall man with long dark hair and a smaller woman beside him walking on the other side of the street. They looked a bit shady, and the darkness that was starting to settle was casting ominous shadows that made them look even more suspicious. She decided to avoid eye contact with them and kept her eyes to the sidewalk. However, she had a strange feeling that she'd met that man before…
That was always happening to her. The feeling that she was forgetting something was always in the back of her mind. It used to bother her, but she got so used to it that now it was a part of her. She knew she hadn't forgotten anything. She remembered to turn off the stove, lock her apartment door, and she hadn't had work today so she didn't forget to go in to the office.
Suddenly, she dropped her groceries, turned toward the man and woman, and made her way across the street to them. Without warning she grabbed the man by his cloak and slammed him up against the wall behind him, cracking the brick.
"Who are you?" she growled.

As Ryuchi waited for Victoria to answer, a familiar scent caught his attention.


"How..."

He scanned the area and saw a small red head woman approaching him.


All he could do was stare as she came closer and closer, and before he knew it, she pushed him against the wall.

His green eyes were wide as he stared down at her.

"Who are you!" She ordered and Ryuchi shook his head, waking up from his own mind. He stood himself up with ease, dusted brisk off of himself.

"Ryuchi." He said, his eyes watching hers. He knew she had no memory of him or what had transpired all those years ago, but apparently, the memory of him hadn't been wiped completely. The witch warned him this would happen....however, certain conditions had to be met and he hadn't been near her long enough for that to have happened.

He decided to play it cool and not give away the truth just yet, it was for her own safety.

He adjusted his duster, and sighed. "Don't do that again." he warned her. "My name is Ryuchi, if you must know." He said and looked at her scrutinizingly. "And you are?"

Victoria backed off as she witnessed what was happening in front of her. Thoughts from the man and woman in front of her swarmed her brain as she tried to make out what was going on. "She was one of them too," she thought to herself.

"Don't do that again," Ryuchi said, looming over her. "My name is Ryuchi, if you must know. And you are?"

"I'll do whatever I damn well please," Rosalie retorted. She kept a loose grip on Ryuchi's cloak, keeping him close to the brick wall. Turning her attention to the woman, she barked, "And who the hell are you? What are you guys doing hanging around here?"

Before the woman could answer, Rosalie suddenly wobbled a bit and almost fell back but caught herself at the last second. She closed her eyes and put a hand to her head for a moment. When she opened her eyes, the expression of rage that had been on her face was now an expression of confusion. She looked around her, noticing that she was in a completely different spot than she had just been a moment ago. And where were her groceries?

Looking up, she was startled to see a man in very close proximity to her, and that she was grabbing onto his coat. She quickly let go and backed up a few steps.

"Uh, I-I'm so sorry! What…what just happened?" Rosalie looked from the woman back to the man. Something in his eyes seemed familiar… "Do I…do I know you?"

Victoria stood before the strange woman, trying to make sense of what just happened. "Um, my name is Victoria." the woman seemed confused still. "you can call me Vicki?" she said, confused herself. Victoria could sense that the woman was not unlike herself. "what's your name?" she asked in a sweeter tone.

"Uh, I-I'm sorry! What....what just happened?" Ryuchi watched as Rosalie went from the woman he met before to someone else entirely.
"Do I...do I know you?"

"Short term memory loss..." He thought, knowing Victoria was listening. "By now, you know this is her, Don't bring up the Organization." He warned her as he looked at Rosalie as Victoria offered her name.

"My apologizes, Miss. We bumped into each other, as I went to apologize, You said you felt faint, got dizzy but caught yourself." Ryuchi said, his voice matter of fact, hiding any emotions he may have feeling at that moment. "Would you like if Victoria and I escorted you to the hospital?" He asked, hearing police sirens off in the distance. He had to get out of there fast.

Besides, a certain someone was waiting for him, she ought to be asleep by now...

"What's your name?" Victoria asked sweetly.

"Rosalie," she answered. Ryuchi then stepped up and explained what happened.

"Would you like it if Victoria and I escorted you to the hospital?" he offered. The more he talked the more Rosalie got the feeling that she knew him, but she couldn't place the how or the where.

"No, it's alright," she answered, taking another step back. "I really should go home. Well, first I should grab the groceries that I apparently just left in the middle of the sidewalk for some reason…"

Rosalie turned to look back across the street to see that her grocery bag had disappeared and groaned. "Are you freaking serious…whatever, I'll just get more tomorrow," she muttered, briefly pinching the bridge of her nose to relieve her frustration. She turned her attention back to Ryuchi and Victoria and smiled warily. She met Ryuchi's eyes for a second longer than she had meant and quickly looked away. "Um, it was nice to meet you guys, and thank you."

Ryuchi nodded, [b]"I really should go home. Well, First I should grab the groceries that I apparently just left in the middle of the sidewalk for some reason..." Ryuchi watched Rosalie look for her groceries and sighed, This must have been frustrating, and he was to blame, but it was for the best.

"Are you freaking serious...Whatever, I'll get more tomorrow,." She cried before looking back at him. Ryuchi watched her closely, He knew she recongized him and much like any mystery, she was going to want to solve it...That's who she was...or once was.

"Um, it was nice to meet yo guys, and thank you." She said and Ryuchi gave a quick nod. "Are you sure you'd like to walk home alone, it's late and you don't seem quite right just yet." He said, there was an alteratior motive but he was concerned for her safety.

"Yeah, you're welcome to stay at my house if you live too far. It's right down the street there," Victoria chimed in as she pointed to her row home up the block. "Normally I don't offer strangers my home, but I can tell you're a good person," she added with a smile.

"Are you sure you'd like to walk home alone? It's late and you don't seem quite right just yet," Ryuchi offered once more. Victoria piped in politely.

"Yeah, you're welcome to stay at my house if you live too far. It's right down the street there. Normally I don't offer strangers my home, but I can tell you're a good person."

Rosalie was touched by the kindness of these strangers, and even though they were strangers, she felt that they could trust them. What would be the harm in taking up their offers? She didn't need to return home for anything important tonight.

"That's so sweet," Rosalie said. "Maybe I should take you up on that. Strange things like this have been happening to me more often lately. Are you sure it won't be too much trouble?"

The art of laying low and keeping out of the Organization's radar was somewhat tedious and annoying process. Especially with idiots like the ones he was approaching raising a ruckus. He had no intentions of saying anything to them, he had enough information pouring in and out of his lounge he knew who they were though. Even without the information he knew just who they were anyway from his time spent within the Organization itself. All he did was briefly glance at them with disdain as he passed them by, opting against issuing a warning or threat. He was however planning on keeping a close eye on them for a good while or at least until the Organization stops buzzing about for a few months.
