The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Aquala sat in the passenger's seat of her father's car in complete silence as he continued on about getting his errands done. Ever since the whole rape situation she never got along very well with her father, but in her opinion that didn't really matter anymore. In a year she'll be eighteen and will be able to move out and start her own life without having to worry about her father always trying to butt in and ruin her life. She slid her headphones into her ears and turned her ipod volume all the way up to block out any noise that came from the outside world.
Her father pulled into the parking lot of a small gas station and went inside to buy a couple drinks and a carton of cigarettes. Aquala never liked the fact that her father smoked, but if she spoke up about it they would break into an argument about it just like they did with everything else. Every time one of them tries to speak to the other it always ends in a fight. Eventually the two of them just gave up on communicating with each other and went to silent acknowledgements. All her life she wanted to get out and be free. The young blonde glanced out the window while she was waiting for her father to come back to the vehicle as she hummed to her music and tapped her fingers upon her legs to the beat.
Aquala noticed the male standing in front of her window, when she noticed that he had been trying to speak to her she pulled her headphones out of her ears and rolled down the window a bit. "I'm sorry, I couldn't quite hear you. What were you saying?" she questioned in her soft tone of voice. She knew she wasn't supposed to be speaking to strangers, especially if they came up to the vehicles the way he had, but he seemed quite nice there was no way she believed he'd harm a fly. That and this male was extremely attractive.
Aquala's golden hues quickly widened once the handkerchief was pressed against her nose and mouth, making her breathe in the chloroform. She tried to fight back as best as she could, but there was no use he was much stronger than she had been. Within seconds she was passed out.
When the girl awoke she found herself locked in a trunk with her arms and legs taped together along with her mouth duct taped so she couldn't make any loud sounds to grab someone's attention. The blonde laid there in silence finding that it was no use to try and get out, it would just make her tired and weak when she was in a better position to try and do so. Tears began flowing down her cheeks, making her hues a brighter gold color. At this point she wished she didn't give in to the male's kindness and good looks. Even though all she ever wanted was to be away from the normal life she was living, this was never the way she expected it to come about.
Aquala's eyes widened when the trunk was opened, finding that the male was standing in front of her. When he spoke she rolled her eyes. At first she was planning on trying to escape from him, but he was right there would be no use in it, she'd either get lost on her way out of the woods or get caught once again by this man or someone else. Her golden hues landed on the house when she looked around the area. Okay, either he's done this before or he set things up before kidnapping me, she thought to herself. When the male picked her up and threw her over his shoulder she let out a grunting noise when her body came into contact with his shoulder. At first it hurt because of the way she was situated but the pain subsided. After she was sat down on the couch in the living room she glanced directly into the male's gorgeous eyes as she listened to his words. She contemplated on the deal for a couple seconds before answering with a nod agreeing to his terms. Of course that wasn't going to stop her from at least asking him questions about why he had done this.
Joe nodded his head when the girl nodded hers, "Ok, good." He said, leaning forward to gently peel the tape away from her mouth, trying not to hurt her. Just because he was hired to kidnap her, doesn't mean he intentionally wants to hurt her. He's not really a bad guy, just doing what he has to in order to get the money. "Are you hungry? Thirsty?" He asked, his eyes searching hers, still trying to figure out why someone would be willing to pay a million dollars for this girl. He realized, he didn't even know her name. All he got were his instructions, and a photo of her to make sure he got the right girl.
Aquala was surprised at how delicately he peeled the tape away from her mouth. She always thought that a man who was willing to kidnap someone was willing to be as rough as possible with everything done to the kidnapped. When the tape was free from her mouth, she smacked her lips together a bit and licked them so they wouldn't be dry anymore. After hearing his question, her golden eyes widened and she nodded her head, "Um, yes please," she replied in a nervous, shaky tone. Even though she had a feeling that the food and drink might end up being poisoned, she still needed something to eat and drink. After all, she thought it would be best to die from poison than deal with going through starvation.
"Ok," Leo said as he slowly got to his feet, rubbing his hands on the legs of his jeans. He started toward the kitchen, but stopped, looking back at the girl. "Don't try to run, you wouldn't get very far taped up like that anyway." He said, looking her over once more before walking into the kitchen. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to figure out what to make for her. Finally he decided to keep it simple. He made her a bologna and cheese sandwich and gets a glass of ice water. He walked back out to the living room with the small plate and the glass, sitting back down on the coffee table across from her. He glanced from her to the food and drink for a few moments. "I'm going to have to undo your hands so you can eat. You won't try anything?" He asked, his eyes locked on hers again, looking for any hints of a lie.
Aquala sighed and looked up towards him, "What would be the point?" she responded in a snarky tone. She glanced over towards the plate and noticed it had been a bologna and cheese sandwich. She figured that she'd just take the bologna off and eat the sandwich, she didn't want him to feel bad for trying. Now whether or not he'd feel bad about it or not was a whole different story. At that point she glanced over towards him and decided to ask the question that hung at the back of her mind, "Why did you kidnap me anyways?" She sat there patiently while she waited for him to unbind her arms.
Leo hesitated a moment longer before pulling a pocket knife out of his pocket. He leaned forward, around the girl, to cut through the duct tape holding her arms in place. Once he cut through the tape, he leaned back and put the knife away, slipping it back into his pocket. He then handed her the plate and glass of water. When she asked her question, he knew it was an inevitable question, one any sane person who's been kidnapped would ask. "Trust me, it wasn't my idea." He said with a shake of his head. He's never done anything like this before, he'd committed hundreds of misdemeanors, stealing mainly. But this was his first time committing a felony. "I'm just a hired hand." He said simply, leaning back to look at her again, running a hand through his curly hair.
Aquala sipped at the glass of water he had handed her then placed it down upon the table in front of her. She pulled the top piece of bread off the sandwich along with the bologna, but placed the bread back down onto the sandwich, leaving the bologna on the plate. She took a bite from her now, cheese sandwich and nodded her head at his words. "What has this person offered you to do this sort of thing? It's got to be something important to you to do something like this, ripping me away from my life, friends, famliy." Aquala wanted him to feel bad about what he had done even if he never brought her back.
Leo watched the girl curiously as she pulled the bologna off the sandwich and ate it with just the cheese. "You a vegetarian or something? Or just don't like bologna?" He asked curiously, just as she started her whole guilt trip spiel. He shook his head slightly. "Money, and lots of it." Was his simple answer. There was no way this girl could guilt trip him, she comes from a good life which is more than he ever had. 'I bet she never had wonder just how they were going to afford their next meal,' He thought sourly, it showing on his face, but only for a brief moment before he quickly shook it away. "I'm supposed to keep you until the heat dies down, then I'm supposed to hand you over to the person who hired me. Then I'll get the rest of my money. So, you're going to be here for a while, might as well get used to it. What's your name?" He asked, leaning back on his hands as he continued to watch the girl.
Aquala rolled her eyes at his words and answered his question, "I'm a vegetarian," she stated simply but continued on with telling him her name, "I'm Aquala..." She didn't know why he hadn't already known that seeing as how he was hired by someone who seemed highly interested in her to give him so much money, but she shrugged it off and continued eating in silence.
Leo nodded his head at Aquala's words. He had found it kind of strange that he'd never actually met the person who hired them, they only communicated over the phone or through emails and he'd only been given the the instructions and a picture, nothing else. 'Apparently who ever it is, didn't want me to know too much about her.' He thought as he continued to study the girl sitting in front of him. "How are you feeling? Do you want some more to eat?" He asked.
The blonde nodded her head, "Yes, this is enough for me," she stated before taking a few sips of her water then continued, "And if you must know, I'm scared...terrified, lonely, sad, angry all at the same time. I'm with some man I've never met before and even though he claims to have to reason of hurting me I can't trust his words because he has done something unforgivable." Aquala leaned back against the couch with a sigh and sipped a bit more of the water. It truly sucked that there was no use in trying to escape, but she dealt with it and figured that she mind as well get used to the fact of being here with him whether she liked it or not.
Leo sighed quietly at Aquala's words, but he knew he couldn't expect anything less. He looked her over and leaned forward again with his pocket knife in hand. He quickly cut through the tape off her ankles, freeing her completely. "Hopefully that will help me gain your trust." He said, closing the pocket knife and slipping it into his pocket once more. "Now, do you have a cell phone on you? Please be honest, I don't want to have to hurt you." He said, his eyes locked on hers, meaning the words. He doesn't want to hurt her, but if he has to chose between her or him, he'll chose himself every time, he's not going to risk getting caught.
Aquala looked him in the eyes when he pulled out the pocket knife and she closed her eyes tight. When she felt the tape around her ankles loosen she opened them and let out a soft sigh. "No, I dropped my phone in the car when you kidnapped me," she answered truthfully. "Since I'm going to be staying here for a while, could you at least tell me your name. It doesn't have to be a real one or anything, I just need something to call you unless you want to be called dickhead, asshole, etc., she stated with a slight giggle, trying to lighten the mood. She knew that there was going to be no way out of this so she thought, why not make the most of it? At least try to get along with the guy until he has to hand her over, Aquala never was one much for dealing with fights or arguments.
Leo studied her closely, but decided that she was being truthful. "Alright." He said with a nod of his head. As she continued to speak, he couldn't help but to smile. "Asshole has to be my personal favorite." He said with a small chuckle. "The name's Leo." He said, running a hand though his curly hair once more. "So, being a vegetarian, what do you normally eat?" He asked, not sure if he has stocked up what he'll need to feed Aquala for how ever long she'll have to be here with him.
When she heard his words and saw him smile for the first time, she couldn't help but to smile back. There was something about this man that captivated her, even though he had ripped her away from the world she knew. "Hm, I don't know. Maybe I'll call you Asshole instead of Leo," she stated jokingly with a small smirk. The female slid her sneakers off her feet and crossed her legs upon the couch as she began answering his question. "Well, as long as it isn't meat, I'll eat it. So no bologna, ham, turkey, hotdogs...meats." She giggled a bit and tucked her bangs behind her ears.
Leo laughed at Aquala's words. He glanced at the clock, seeing that it was starting to get late. "So, for dinner, spaghetti would be alright?" He asked as he moved off the coffee table to sit on the couch next to Aquala, picking up the remote. He turned on the TV, checking out the news to see if her disappearance was public yet, but they were currently just talking the weather. "Also, I've got a room set up for you, at the end of the hall, where you'll be sleeping. I'm sorry, but I had to take some precautions. There's bars on the window, and the door can be locked from the outside, but I'm hoping I won't have to use the lock." He said, looking at her pointedly.
Aquala looked over beside her when he sat down on the couch. "Okay and spaghetti is fine," she stated blankly. She glanced towards the TV and kept her eyes locked upon it, wanting to see if anything about her disappearance had been on the news. Part of her hoped there would be, but then again she got what she always wanted. Maybe things wouldn't turn out as bad as she thought they would.
Leo nodded his head at Aquala's words. "Alright. You can have a look around if you'd like, but don't try anything. I don't want to hurt you, I'm not being paid to hurt you, just to keep you here. I'd like to make that as comfortable for you as possible, but if you don't leave me any choice, it can be just as uncomfortable." He said, his eyes on Aquala, making sure she understood what he's saying. Once he's sure that she does, he got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to start dinner, making sure to padlock the front door on the way, the key to the padlocks hanging on a chain around his neck, hidden under his shirt.
Aquala nodded her head at his words in silence and when he stood up she made herself comfortable on the couch. She grabbed the remote and changed the channel to a forensics documentary. She had always been interested in that sort of thing and always planned on becoming a detective of some sort herself. A few minutes passed by and she fell asleep on the couch.
