Name: Brendon Stratos
Age: 34
Description: Oneâs first instinct upon meeting Brendon is often to punch the good air king, and its not always just because of his attitude. Aristocratically good looking, ivory skinned and possessed of an arrogant smirk, Brendon is every bit as handsome and cunning as his personality leads others to believe. Though a bit slim compared to other men, he boasts an impressive muscular tone that clearly sets him above a standard civilian. He doesn't appear like an individual capable of ripping your heart out a moments notice, but those who know him will be aware of evidence that exists to the contrary. Outwardly, he tends to dress like a college a student and holds little regard for embroidered trimmings, much preferring the simple functionality offered by common clothes.
Brendonâs eyes are cynically dark orbs of judgment and contrast exotically with the silver hue of his unruly hairdo. From the average perspective, heâs far from large. Yet having a normal height (5â10â) does nothing to suppress the more quirky aspects of his personality. He commands an impressive aura of authority, which can be attributed to his regal features, sharp nose and skeptical tone. Rarely is he seen without his war fans, black relics which are always strapped to the sides of his waist.
Power: Air
Abilities: Brendon is an adept when it comes to using close combat wind magic in a wide variety of forms. He is capable of forming auras as shields or augmenting his attacks and movements with the wind element, boosting his speed and power. The ultimate form of this magic enables Brendon to extend his augmentation and auras to objects and weapons held by the user. This enables Brendon to strengthen and grant the object the ability to withstand and deal magic damage.
Vanish â Brendonâs signature ability means to literally become as invisible as air. This is a skill which Brendon can use to hide or pass through objects. For example, if a boulder blocked his path, Brendon could make the boulder âdisappearâ, or even just a section of it in order to pass through. The ability works according to his concept of the object, so long as he can conceptualize it, he can make it invisible. The upper limits of what he can fully turn invisible can be expressed roughly with the volume of a 1 x 1 x 1m cube. In this sealed form, Brendon can only apply the ability on single inanimate objects and for a maximum of 30 seconds. He can also make it âvisibleâ again anytime between that. Essentially it works by increasing the influence of the wind element on an object. By doing so, the other elements become increasingly less influential. The result is that the object disappears, effectively becoming as 'air'. The objects Brendon phases out take priority. The result of this is that if they unphase inside of a solid object they remain intact and the object becomes impaled.
Force of Life â Brendon puts a limiter on his powers so that he doesnât always end up running out; this also prevents him from constantly losing his power for a duration of time. If the situation is dire enough however, and if he wants to, Brendon can release this limiter, allowing him to fully utilize his powers for 1 minute before he exhausts it. This enables Brendon to extend the effects of his abilities (2 x 2 x 2m) and also enables him to use his powers on multiple objects/living beings (up to 5) at once. Objects affected during his unsealed abilities can remain invisible throughout the duration of Force of Life (1 minute) and up to 30 seconds after the 1 minute limit. After 1 minute Brendon will have to wait another 24 hours before he can use his powers again.
Protector or King: King
Personality: Brendon is the king of air, and much like his element of choice, his personality is whimsical by nature. Hard to pin. At times he can be chaotic, skirting the darker edges of lawful morality, though he isn't inherently cruel, and at others times he has a nobility that few possess. As a king, Brendon has the vision, mind and heart of a ruler. Appropriately, his key qualities are adaptability, flexibility and variability. Such qualities are not only reflected in his combat style, but on a far more intellectual level. Rarely is there a time that the young Air King is not planning, anticipating and learning.
Brendon values cunningness and knowledge. As such, he is a firm supporter of education and believes that knowledge is the key to power. His empire rests on a foundation of traits such as independence and efficiency, so much so that they hardly seem to require the leadership of their king to function (something he proudly encourages).
On a personal level, Brendon is every bit as autonomous as his people. Though he often acts as the jovial trickster, the air king has a keen, almost calculating intelligence at times. Quick witted, but far from brash, Brendon is an elusive, and at times, frustrating fellow. Socially, he has a guileful, superficial charm when it comes to meeting his allies and an apparent lack of empathy for his enemies. He's not afraid to eliminate those he considers dangerous, and has been known to take joys in his form of vigilante justice. His firm grasp over air magic further lends to his confidence, meaning he's not easily intimidated.
History/Bio: Not everyone grows up with a troubled background, and Brendon was certain such a case. Pampered since birth to continue his father's great work, Brendon has had to contend with a multitude of heavy burdens, the most notable being the development of his country. Of course, Brendon's father was a wily old fellow, and even years after his passing, Brendon continues to fine remnants of his great designs purposefully left behind and scattered. One of the most notable of these being his protectors Kanan and Aeraki.
Brendon was taught from birth to be a leader. He received classes on numerous subjects, but was also taught to be independent and seek out his own information. At times, his father's obsession for his country's well being could be frustrating for Brendon, but as a child even he recognized and appreciated the significance of his father's goals and sought out to embody them. Though Brendon was always a shining example for his father's principles, much less could be said for his rebellious younger brother who only wanted the freedom to spread his wings.
