Introduction
In Goldrush, the only crimes are these; Stealing a man's horse, Drinking a man's last drink, and pissing off the Marshals.
So, do you have what it takes to live in Goldrush? Are you
There are many different landmarks in the land of Goldrush, but they can easily be broken down into four different regions
- Flourish: The west coast of the hawk-shaped land of Goldrush is a prosperous place, filled with many towns. Most rare objects are found here. There are also more humans than any other race, though Sylvan are close second.
- The Spine: Goldrush is bisected by a hazardous but mineral rich mountain range, home to many monsters and the hearty Auren
- The Deadland: Also known as 'The Thousand Mile Grave', the land residing due west of The Spine is a wasteland where the dead - and undead - reside. Vampire and Undead are common sights here. Unfortunately, so are grave robbers
- The Emerald Ocean: A rich woodland teaming with mysteries, the Emerald Ocean stretches from the western edge of The Deadland all the way to the eastern coast of Gold Rush. Sylvan and other creatures of the forest live amongst the towering trees
Through centuries of shared culture and mythology, many races have grown to share the same core religions. Surprisingly enough, it makes difference in life or death - Sometimes the gods listen, I suppose. Who you serve in life and death makes a difference in the ruthless and bloodthirsty world of Goldrush, so choose your afterlife wisely.
Morghu
Known to many as the goddess of death and curses, Morghu is depicted as a half-skeletal woman breastfeeding a dragon. This religion's afterlife believes that all souls are given to Morghu in the form of dragons, to be nurtured until the end of all time. Any soul unworthy of Morghu is cursed to walk the earth as undead - it seems to be working, honestly.
Platius
Known to many as the god of commerce and art, Platius is depicted as a towering man with the head of a bison. This Religion's afterlife believes that the only way to paradise is by having the most fairly earned wealth. Sinners are stripped of their wealth and sent to a place of punishment, to do back breaking work for all eternity
Ghall
Known to many as the god(dess) of sinners and gambling, Ghall is depicted as a beautiful woman with a deck of cards or an ugly man with a bloody knife. This Religion has no belief in afterlife, but believes in reincarnation. a good man does not get a body upon reincarnation, but must toil in the body he once had.
Sangres
Known to many as the god of blood and birth, Sangres is depicted as an armor-clad man carrying a newborn babe. This religion believes that all people are admitted into heaven.
Marshals - The law of Goldrush, Marshals work like a military force, keeping everything running smoothly in the land. - Lead by Silas Blackmoore
Merchants - Merchants direct the flow of trade in Goldrush. The merchant families essentially form a massive government, held in check only by the Miner guild and the Marshals - lead by
Miners - Miners don't just mine, they create every product known to the inhabitants of Goldrush. They've been in a light-hearted feud with the merchant families for decades, arguing over which guild deserves more power - Lead by the Pelt family - lead by
Desperado - The Desperado are a new faction in Goldrush, and are anarchists who do what the fuck they want when the fuck they want to do it - lead by Kyuriulu
Mercenaries - Though they aren't really a guild, Mercenaries have been trying to carve a place in the land of Goldrush for them, and seem to constantly seek approval from the marshals - though they have no stable leadership, Wilda Sabueso is considered the leader
Many races inhabit the land of Goldrush, each with their own facets of life.
Ogryn (half-ogre)
low speed, high strength, high resilience
Ogryn have the heartiness and strength of an ogre coupled with the intelligence of a human
Heaven-Born (Avian)
Medium/high mobility, mildly fragile, strong
humanoid creatures with beautiful bird wings and the features of a bird - talons for claws, feathers mingled in with skin. Often attracted to shiny objects. often introversive
Were-animals (Coyote, Bear, Mountain Lion)
Medium/high mobility*, average resilience
These mutts' personalities and habits tend to reflect their alter-forms.
(Bears are generally brutish and/or blunt. Coyotes are generally underhanded and/or sociable. Lions are notorious for being loners.)
*Average speed whilst human, increases with form shift
Auren (Dwarf)
Low Mobility, Low Dexterity, high resilience. At home in The Spine.
Auren are known for their extreme sense of skill when it comes to creating beautiful works with metal and other minerals as well as their extreme rudeness and lack of tact. The gruff Auren are a hearty people who often distrust most outsiders.
Sylvan (Elf)
High mobility, Dexterous, Fragile
At home in the Emerald Ocean of Goldrush
Known for their nimble fighting techniques and affinity for subterfuge, they lack endurance and can be generally defined as βfragile.β Sylvan possess the ability to communicate with n
Undead
Low Mobility, Low Strength, Hearty
Beings who have tasted the cold grip of death once, arisen from the grave - whether through sheer willpower or from supernatural means - to walk the earth once more. Undead are often avoided by the living, and come in two forms. Intelligent Undead (player controlled) are capable of functioning in day to day society, whereas Feral Undead scour the earth, looking for their next meal.
Vampire
High mobility, High Strength, Fragile
This particularly notorious branch of undead has trailed all races throughout their history. They generally try to blend in with human settlements.
Vampires dislike being in direct sunlight, as it tends to cause headaches. The intensity of said headaches grows worse with how long they are exposed.
However, despite their generally superior strength and agility, the demands of immortality leave them particularly vulnerable to injury.
Human (Homo Sapiens)
Medium mobility
Humans, among the other races, could be apt described as the median.
They arenβt the strongest, nor the most knowledgeable, but have carved a place for themselves out of sheer grit and cooperation.
