Horse
Breeds
Thoroughbred - Fast and strong, but prone to wayward stubbornness.
Saddlebred - Fast and built for riding for long stretches of time, but easily spooked.
Warhorse - Sturdy and strong, Warhorses are tough to hurt and hard to spook. However, they lack the speed of the other breeds.
Mustang - Strong, fast horses. They are incredibly stubborn but are truly loyal when properly trained
*Pegasus - Winged versions of the other breeds. Exceedingly rare and expensive
*Unicorn - Magical versions of Mustang. Exceedingly rare, incredibly distrusting.
*Direcorns - like the unicorn, exceedingly rare and incredibly distrusting. often a sign of ill omen
*Kelpi - An aquatic version of the thoroughbred. capable of breathing underwater. eats meat

Cattle
Breeds
Oxen - Strong and hard working, but often stubborn. They are as loyal as a dog to anyone who can get them to listen
Water Buffalo - stronger than the oxen, but more lazy, Water buffalo sell for higher prices in the food aspect of trade
Bison - weaker than an oxen, but still strong, Bison are the epitome of fucks not given
Dairy Cow - moo.
*Minotaur - these rare mounts are humanoid, but still have the intelligence of a bull. Minotaur are often violent and prone to temper tantrums, but are truly loyal to those they call master.

Breeds
Warthog - prone to berzerker fits, the hearty warthog is fast when it wants to be
Direpig - The largely tusked, scale plated swine known as a direpig is prone to tossing off its rider, and are a pain in the ass to train
*flying pig - really. you need a description for a flying pig?
Farm Pig - suey! these pigs are loyal, lovable housepets that are highly intelligent, but arenā€™t good for much more than bacon

Alligator - enough said
Wyrm - these limbless, gargantuan reptiles have a habit of disappearing under the sand and leaping out in surprise attacks.
Wyvern - Strong, armored Wyverns are essentially tanks with scales. These fire-breathing, wingless dragons are known for being vicious but loyal
Boa dragon - a cousin of the wyrm, the boa dragon has no teeth, so must coil around its prey. that means that the boa dragonā€™s body is impenetrable from external attacks

Breed
Coyote - sly, scavenging dogs. The Coyote is comfortable in a pack, and is vicious when cornered.
Dingo - Sleek and fast, the dingo are vicious in all fronts. Feral dingo are smart enough to open doors, and have been known to eat children in their cribs
Bloodhound - the loyalest pet around. Slow moving Bloodhounds make excelent tracking dogs, second only too...
Wolf - The wolf. The smartest animal you will find, and excellent at strategy. Some have been known to *talk
*Hellhound - the story goes that hellhounds were birthed from the loins of some demon, long ago. Feral hellhounds are unfortunately not as rare as their tame cousins. The dogs with fur of black fire are often employed by black market desperado
*Warg - Horse sized wargs are steeds of battle. Their strength and speed are unsurpassed in the mount-sized animals
*Okami - The mystical wolves of The Spine are a sacred group of animals. They are not ā€˜tamedā€™ or ā€˜purchasedā€™. They allow humans to work with them.
*Chupacabra - Blood drinking, frail Coyote that stalk the night. Theyā€™re essentially the Vampire of the canine world
*Timber Wolf - a little pun of the world, Timber Wolves are wolves made of wood. That means that they donā€™t need to eat or use the facilities, and are pretty fucking sturdy. donā€™t smoke around them though
Fox - Sneaky, cat-like foxes are great if you are a theif

Breed
Gorilla - Massive towers of muscle, Gorilla are also fairly clever
Chimpanzee - Mischievous primates, Chimpanzee are often used in sideshow acts and as pickpockets
Orangutang - These things are assholes, seriously
*Sasquatch - Humanoid primates that are powerhouses and scholars alike, they often partner with people in The Spine
*Yeti - essentially the asshole version of a Sasquatch

Bears
Breed
Black - lazy and uneasy to provoke, Black Bears are fairly common as animal companions
Brown - Brown Bears are less lazy than black bears, but are easier to provoke. They are often common as well.
Polar - These territorial bears are very fond of alcohol.
Grizzly - do. not. fucking. piss. these. bears. off.
*Wendigo - weā€™re not even sure if this thing counts as a bear, but the wendigo is a phantasmal creature that moves as fast as a bullet and can crush steel like itā€™s paper. there are only a handful of them in the world.
*Direbear - these creatures are like Grizzlies on crack. Seriously. They are provoked at a pindrop and often berzerk. (Bearzerk:3)
*Zombear - undead bears. Bears apparently get cursed too?

Great eagle - Massive creatures, Great Eagles are Goldrushā€™s symbol.
Hawken - Smaller, quicker Hawken have razor sharp talons and are often used by Aerial Desperado in order to assault Air Ships
The Mighty Cock - Giant roosters that can run as fast as a horse
Razorbeak - large, metallic birds that are used to defend Air Ships
Companion breeds
Raven - Smart, small birds that often work in murders. They are attracted to shiny things and are often seen as ill omens
Dire Crow - large ravens that crave flesh, Dire Crows are a pestilence in the Deadland and plague many Undead
eagle - seriously? you need a description for eagles?
falcon - seriously? you need a description for falcons?
chickenhawk - seriously? you need a description for Chickenhawks?
Turkey - seriously? you need a description for Turkeys?

*Myth
breeds
Griffon - half Great Eagle and half Lion, Griffons are stingy, vicious predators of the sky and the jungle
Manticore - Lions with scorpion tails and hind legs. They fear fire and their poison sells for a small fortune on the black market due to its lack of detectability
Chimera - The unholy spawn of a goat raped by a lion and a dragon. These creatures spew flames and have the heads of their respective parents
Ogre - Humanoid creatures closely related to Ogryn, these creatures are dimwitted and often tamed by cargo companies in order to load heavy crates. Their thick skin makes them well armored against both natural weapons and firearms
