Ancestor:
Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, parties and festivals, madness, chaos, drunkenness, drugs and ecstasy
Powers:
Fin can turn all liquids into wine, except for milk and lemonade, though he’s never understood why those two, everyone in his family seems to have their own random exceptions too. The quality of the wine produced corresponds with the effort and energy he puts into the transformation as well as how long he take to do it compared to how much he is transforming.
Fin can also cause insanity. Though to be more accurate, he can cause different aspects that come under the term ‘insanity’. Some of the aspects he can control are;
Dementia – Can cause memory loss, choosing past memories to temporarily erase, or future ones.
Insomnia – He can temporarily take away someone’s need for sleep.
Phobias – He can cause someone to be temporarily afraid of whatever he chooses
Delirium – He can cause people to have visions and see things that aren’t there, though he can’t control what they see
Nothing he causes is permanent, and the time limit of the effect depends on its severity and how much effort and time Fin took causing it.
Weaknesses:
Fin has a very short attention span, he never get better at things because he never sticks around to practice them. By the time he finds out an area to improve on, he’s already on to the next new thing. This was his problem all throughout his schooling, his failure to really stick with anything.
Fin also always gets himself into trouble because he never thinks first, always rushing into things and never thinking things through. Always searching for the next big adventure.
Strengths:
Fin’s great at sports, he’s played them since as long as he can remember and it’s had paid off. He is athletic, on the stronger side of the spectrum and is one of the fastest runners in Northbay.
He’s great and mixing and making drinks, working as a bartender since leaving high school definitely has it’s perks, oh and I suppose it doesn’t hurt that he’s related to the god of wine either.
Fins also really lucky, it’s not really strength he worked on or can be measured, and he hasn’t really noticed it himself but other people have.
Thoughts:
All Finn really cares about is if the people know who to enjoy themselves. He’s not going to cut himself off from two thirds of Northbay based on what ancestors they have, he’s far too much of a people person for that. Though he understand not too cause too much trouble at Northbay since the Greeks are still kind of the new guys.

Personality:
Fin is incredibly playful, never taking anything seriously and always turning things into game, and trying to find a way to make everything entertaining. Though he has developed a disliking towards the expected and ever changing, due to how easily bored her gets by everything. This causes him to always seem restless and like he is always looking two steps ahead thinking about what he's about to do rather than what he is doing. He tends to fidget a lot of always seems to be moving, never content to stay still, doing just one thing for an extended period of time. He is never just content with how things are, he’s always chasing after something thing else, wether another action, another person, or another place.

He has a need for constant change, so he is always throwing himself in the middle of things. He likes to have a thousand things going on around him, the more stimulation the better, he thrives on the chaos of it all. He is incredibly friendly and lovable. He is never one to miss out on a party of even just a gathering of large people, since he has a need to be where the most things are happening at once. Fin is just someone people feel relaxed and easy around, he knows how to make people feel welcome without even trying and so has gained himself many friends over the years. To his friends though he comes off very flighty, and incredibly scatterbrained, always changing to the topics and wanting to do things on a whim.

He is almost always with other people, seeming as he prefers other’s company to his own. He hates spending time alone with his thoughts because he finds that he can’t entertain himself. His need for stimulation and entertainment can’t be met by just himself alone. By himself he gets bored to easily, and this usually leads to him getting an idea that perhaps isn't as great as he originally thought it was.

Though Fin has many friends is very social, he is also very distant to almost everyone. Due to his flighty nature, he is a very hard person to actually get to know and have a real conversation with. He is not a very serious person and so he is not someone people come to their issues with, he’s great for a good time, but very few people would call him a close friend. He is always moving from person to person, not getting close enough to anyone for them to become predictable. He is friends with many, close to none. Never being close to many people never ever bothered him though.

Fin is very naïve. He is a sweet guy who would never intentionally hurt or annoy someone, though frequently he doesn’t realise he is. Especially when he decides to use his powers on an unsuspecting person. He just always expects people to take things as playfully and light heartedly as he does, and so often can upset people without even realising it. He also rarely realises that his actions might affect other people. He doesn’t do it in a mean way, sometimes it honestly just never crosses his mind that he might be hurting or upsetting someone with his actions.

History:
Young Fin may have looked different but acted like a carbon copy of Fin now. He was incredibly friendly and always had plenty of friends from a young age. Even back then he was in the thick of it and hated spending times alone. His was forever getting in trouble from his parents for going to a friend’s house after school and not telling them. When his sister, [x], came along, his parents expected him to level out a little and become more responsible and settled down in wake of becoming an older brother. Though they were proved wrong, in fact for the first few years of [x]’s life, Fin barely even acknowledged her. It wasn’t that he disliked her but in his mind she was boring and didn’t do anything exciting, after all she was only a baby. As soon as she was old enough to walk and talk though, he started leading her in his footsteps. When he wasn’t with friends he would be with her, always making her join him on his adventures that he began on a whim.

At school, while he had heaps of friends, and he enjoy the excitement of school to begin with, teachers used to cringe when he showed up for class. It wasn’t that he wasn’t bright but he never really applied himself, and would give up things halfway through in order to pursue something else. He was also a constant distraction to his classes because of his short attention span inside class. Fin somehow made it to graduation though, not with good grades, but he made it nonetheless.

After graduation he did want to continue his studies, luckily seeming as he grades wouldn’t have allowed him to anyway, though he had nothing he really wanted to be stuck doing for the rest of his life. So he ended up with a lot of part-time jobs, never really content to just do one thing like everyone else. Then after moving to Northbay, Fin got a whole lot of new jobs. He didn’t really mind the move, in fact he thrived on the idea of having a new place to explore and new people to meet.

Jade stood quietly behind Alaura as she took control of the situation- like she did every situation."How can we ever repay you?" Alaura asked, and Jade looked to her with a bit of annoyance. It was over just a quick as it had flared, and she was back to staring at the ground. "No, nothing. I don't need to be repaid," Mack replied, adding "I'm glad you're alright Jade." Jade looked up at him and offered a shy, embarrassed smile. Not soon after, she felt a warmth on her hand and turned to notice Quincy, who she offered the same smile to. He leaned in towards Alaura, informing her that he was there to help if she needed. As always. Jade stared at Quincy for a moment as Liam walked up. Quincy was so in love with her sister, so willing and desperate to help or leap at her command. Jade wondered if Alaura even knew about the effect she had on Quincy.

"Okay... Hoping everything is alright. Maybe we should bring Jade back to her home... I know that she probably doesn't want to stay here at least," Liam offered, speaking to her sister as if she weren't there. Jade looked up at him then, but not to glare. She was too numb to be mad at anyone right now, even though she was feeling more and more claustrophobic by the second. Mack began to nod, which drew her attention back to him as he said, "Do you need anything? I can swing by the supermarket and pick up any supplies..." "I don't think there's--" "The doctor said I need prenatal vitamins," Jade cut in, speaking up as she took her hand away from her older sister. "And, I'm pregnant, not crippled. Alaura, don't you have festival decorations to be putting up?" She sighed, aware of the annoyed tone coming out in her voice. She didn't want all these people around-- she just wanted Gwyn. Right now, that's all she wanted- to curl up beside her and die if that'd make a smile lift Gwyn's cheeks.

Jade shook away the thoughts of her ex as she placed a hand on her steadily growing stomach. Just as the doctor had said; her womb was inflating steadily, even as she stood in front of her friends now. She could feel milimeter by milimeter expanding, and her shorts already starting to feel tighter. "Just go back to decorating for the festival, I'm sure they need the help. My house isn't far- I'll walk. I want to walk, Alaura. I need some time to think. Mack, if you could maybe bring the vitamins over later, or give them to me when you see me at the festival- yes, I'm still going, that'd be great." She glanced around once more to everyone standing, staring at her. "Thank you all for being so worried, but I'm healed now, and I'm okay. I was just a little shook up, but Mack totally took care of me so I'm good now, okay? I'll see you all at the festival." With that, and before anyone else could chime in to stop her, she walked out of the clinic and started up the sidewalk to go back to her townhouse, which was as she said fairly close by.

As her door closed behind her, she leaned up against the frame and slowly slid to the floor, sobbing as she held her growing stomach. This was not how she had wanted anyone to find out- at all. It was all just too much: the loss of her girlfriend, not knowing who the father was, everyone finding out that she was pregnant, the idea of facing everyone that night with a beach-ball for a stomach, but above everything else-- almost losing her children. All five of them. Five of them. The idea made her nauseous, and she curled into herself, holding her stomach gently as she wept for everything she had lost.

When she was finally done feeling sorry for herself, she clawed her way back up her door to walk into her bathroom. She slowly stripped down, still sniffling and crying a little as she stared at her naked reflection. Her stomach welled in front of her as her red, puffy, eyes trailed over her form. She had been so beautiful once- now she looked like a cartoon character that had swallowed a beach ball. With a sigh, she showed and dug through her clothes for a larger pair of shorts, and a loose enough top to flow over her new stomach.Image Luckily the butterfly print managed to cover all of her skin, but it was painfully evident that she was pregnant. There would be no hiding it now. Figuring that she should at least tell her father, Jade scooped up her car keys and headed out of the door. She was about to get in, when she changed her mind. She could walk there, too. She lived on the other side of main street as it was, so it would just be a short walk to the bakery. Before she left, she placed a postit note on her door, in case Mack tried to drop the vitamins off at her house.

With a heavy heart, she put her keys, wallet, and cell into her brown shoulder purse. Walking felt significantly different now that she had so much weight toward her front. She found herself having to lean back just slightly, and felt very comfortable with one hand on her stomach. As she walked down the street, she noticed that most of the decorations had been set up, and the road had officially been blocked off. Good thing she hadn't taken her car. As she entered the bakery, her father came around the counter with a very serious look on his face. "It's been a long time, Bella," he said, his accent still as heavy as the day she was born. She couldn't help but smile warmly, tears swelling in her eyes. "I know, Papa." "I see you bring good news," his tone lifted with his smile as he walked over to her and put his arms around her. "I bet Guinevere is very excited," he chuckled. Bella started to cry all over again at the mention of her ex, throwing her arms around her father in a tight embrace.

She spent the next thirty minutes filling him in on everything he had missed over the past year, and apologized for being so secretive and distant. Mr. Aset sat stone silent on the other end of the patio table, ignoring the coffee one of his helpers had brought them. "You mean you don't know who the father is?" His tone was gentle, but firm, and from years of listening to that combination she could also hear the underlining disappointment. "I've tried to remember, Papa... I really have, but I just... I can't remember at all. I'm scared, Papa. I don't know what to do." Mr. Aset nodded slowly, holding the ultrasound picture in his hand fondly. "That's exactly how I felt when I first found out your mother was pregnant with Alaura. I was terrified. But, I found a way, little bird. Just as you will. You said Alaura already knows of this? Yes, well, then you will certainly have a lot of support. I'm sure April will be happy to hear the news as well." Jade smiled in awe of her father's calm demeanor. He was always so cool- so collect. No wonder Alaura always had her head on her shoulders.

"I have to get back to the bakery, little bird. Lots of baking to be done, the festival is starting soon. You just try to have fun, and relax a little. All there is to be done now is prepare." Jade nodded and stood as her father did, accepting a kiss to each of her cheeks. She felt significantly better. With renewed hope for herself, she made her way through main street which was lined with rides, vendors and food stands now- all frantically trying to set up for the festival. She had been signed up to work the kissing booth by Alaura weeks ago, and she felt a small twist in her stomach. No one was going to want to kiss a pregnant girl. She helped herself to a large pretzel, as she stood on the side walk and pulled out her phone to text for emergency back-up. She couldn't tell Alaura that she wouldn't be able to make it- she'd have to find a replacement.

To: Ariel, Asta, Julian, Leslie, Ronan, Bryce, Chione, Ramses, Fin, Daphne, Izzy, Stephanie.

"So, little to say but so much time, despite my empty mouth, the words are in my mind," Layla walked up and down the racks of music, the racks were of a metal construct, made by small black poles, holding up rows and rows of assorted music, from the old to the new. Over the speakers playing: First Love by Adele, this is a really good 'peaceful mood' song of Layla's, she is heard singing along casually, as she inspected the music, re-arranging any misplaced cases. Suddenly she felt a familiar touch at her leg, it was Akil rubbing against her with his black smooth fur. With a smile on her face she puts the final case away and picks him up, his tail swaying peacefully. She rubbed her nose against his and laughed, she was in a happy mood, she started to comically dance with him, it was a slow and happy dance, she smiled as she sang, "Please wear the face, the one where you smile," she stopped and placed the cat gently down on the counter with the happy Alko. She reached into her pocket in her top, and pulled out her phone. She unlocked it and opened her messages, she had received a reply from Bryce.

To: Layla
K. See you in an hour or so, then?

As she read the message, she was filled with joy, she started to type excitedly on the touch screen.

To: Bryce
Yeah, sure. About to close up the music store soon anyway, then take Akil and Alko home. Wanna meet up at the park or resteraunt or something?

She locked her phone then placed it safely back in her top pocket. With that she made a squeal of joy and danced around the room as: Cold Shoulder, Adele came on through the speakers. She liked being in an Adele mood today. Over on the counter the two cat lovers danced to, it was ironic actually. One was black, and the other white, Ying and Yang right? It was strange the way that Layla found the two.

It was a chilly winter morning actually, she was 10 and she was walking like a penguin at the amount of warm clothing her father had put on her. She was playing in the snow with her brother, they were building a snowman, it was actually quite shabby, they had the pebbles for the buttons and mouth, a nice red scarf, and who couldn't forget the nice long carrot for the nose? When they finished they gave a cheerful "Hip Hip!" then in a couple of seconds snow bursted everywhere, two little kittens jumped through the snow construct. One thing led to another and Layla's parents let her keep them. They were her friends, and sometimes they seemed like human beings to her. But they weren't, luckily for her though, she had a knack for making friends.

As the song came to finish, Layla switched off the music, with a touch of a button on the master remote and sat it back on the counter. As she happily made her way to the door, her cats trailed behind her playfully, she grabbed the plastic sign to 'Open' to 'Closed', with a single sweep, and opened the door and walked out, locking the door behind her, still humming the remnants of the song she just heard. She walked her way across the cobbled street and made it to the front door of her house, and let the door open for her companions, as they let out a thanking 'Meow' as they slipped inside. She smiled as she closed the wooden door and walked over to the resteraunt. "Alright, meeting at the restaurant it is then!" she though to herself as she made her way across the busy street, the decor is going good, in a few hours they should be done. She opened the door and made way to an empty table, the table could easily fit four people. She sat down and pulled out her mobile phone, sending a text to Bryce, and to her brother Xander, who she didn't see this morning.

To: Bryce
Hey, at the restaurant, wanna meet up with Tut here?

To Xander:
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey? You awake? If you are, then get dressed. Oh, you are royally invited to spend the time at the Lantern Festival with Bryce and me, I think Tut may come. No idea. Now, get up or Akil will jump on you...Oh! I forgot where to tell you where I am! The Restaurant. :P

With that she presses send and smiles, looking around while placing her phone on the neat tablecloth, as she looks around she notices that she is next to the Greeks. It wasn't really necessary that she would talk to them, but it would be nice to be friendly. But for now, she decided to keep to herself and play games on her phone. While waiting for Bryce and the others.

Tony was seated next to Dehiliah, collecting himself easily in one breath as he pushed away any and all thoughts other than those that concerned the people at the table. There was a time and place to freak out and this was definitely not the place to do it. So, forcing a convincing smile he leaned forward, propping his elbows on the table. When Viona kindly asked what he wanted he waved a hand at her, having lost his appetite. "I'm fine thanks, but I will take a glass of Dr. Pepper." Tony added on the drink quickly, smiling.

Hanging out with Fin, Amanda, and Dehiliah would help ease his racing mind. And it did, after a few minutes of just focusing on them, he already felt better. His loud and deep laugh rattled through his chest and his large smile was convincing enough to even fool him into thinking everything was alright. Tony knew how to get himself out of trouble, no matter how deep of a hole he had dug, all he needed to do was relax and stay calm. Which he was doing pretty well as he talked with the three other Grecians.

However, despite the fun and games, there was a pressing matter Tony needed to attend to. So with a polite smile Tony rubbed the back of his neck. "You'll have to excuse me," He started with a sigh, stretching slightly in his seat. "Dad might need me to help put up finishing touch ups around town." Standing slowly he finished off the Dr. Pepper he had been drinking. "I'll catch up with you later, boss." Tony promised Dehiliah and then looked to Fin and Amanda. "See y'all later. And with that, he took his leave, waving to them as he walked out of the restaurant.

With the sun shining down on him, Tony stretched his arms over his head, soaking up the warmth. Putting on his sunglasses he headed down the sidewalk, taking one last glance at his friends through the window of the restaurant. The streets were getting busy as the day progressed and Tony found himself wandering around town, admiring all the decorations that had gone up. At one point or another he had run into his father, though there wasn't much for him to help with anymore, so he went back to walking around town.

His phone buzzed in his pocket and a dark eyebrow rose slowly, nobody texted him. Actually, that was a life, his twin texted him all the time. Retrieving the slender black phone from his front pocket he shaded the screen from the sun and looked down at the text message from Izzy. He had been right, his sister had texted him, though she had done so earlier this morning. Tony had been so preoccupied he must've ignored the buzzing alert from his phone until now.

From Izzy:

Hey Antonio, jk, I know how you hate being called that Tony. So guess what, I’ve decided that as your twin sister it’s my job to protect your social life so guess what, you're going to be at that festival tonight. See yah there.

Snorting a laugh out of his nose he texted her back quickly, his large thumbs having difficulty typing on the small keyboard.

To Izzy:

Haha, sorry, just got your text. You'll be happy to know I spent most of my day with other people already. :P See you tonight. Hey, Izzy, smart decisions okay?

Preoccupied with his difficult texting, Tony hadn't been watching where he had been going, bumping his shoulder into someone and dropping his phone as soon as he had hit send. "Shit, sorry, didn't see you there." His apology was quick as he bent down to pick up his phone, unharmed thank the Gods, from where it had fallen. Upon straightening up and looking to the person he had run into accidently. His heart nearly stopped for the second time that day.

"Jade, sorry, again..." His voice trailed off slowly as he looked down at her belly. Putting his hands on his head, he took a step back, obviously shocked with her state. There was no denying it, she was pregnant, all of his doubts put to rest. "Y-you're pregnant?" Tony stammered breathlessly. "Oh Gods..." His voice was barely a whisper. "Where do I even start?" His voice caught in his throat as he tried to explain this outloud to not only Jade, but himself as well.

"We need to talk...But not here." Tony grabbed her wrist, dragging her down the sidewalk. He couldn't have her making a scene in the middle of the street. Pulling her off to the side and into an alley between two of the town shops, Tony let go of her wrist quickly. "I was going to tell you, I was, if I had had any idea you had been seeing somebody at the time..." His sentences were choppy, unorganized. "We were both really drunk...Jade...I'm so, so sorry. I never thought that this," He gestured to her swollen belly. "Was going to happen." Tony finally let go, the weight upon his shoulders lifting ever so slightly as he got this off his chest.

Viona smiled as she wrote down one Dr. Pepper for Tony, and the rest of the orders from the other three. "They'll be right out," she said and went into the kitchen. She gave to order to the chef, and came back out with the food balanced in her hands. She set the food down at the table, and a glass of Dr. Pepper in front of Tony. "Let me know if you guys need anything else," she said.

A couple hours later, she saw Alaura and Terrence waiting to be seated. At the request of a table for two, she walked them to a booth. "Have you been busy today?" "Not really, I guess it's because a lot of people are helping out with the preparations." She placed down two menus and took out her notepad. "Well, I hope you get off in time to get to enjoy the festival. We've really worked hard on it, and besides- you deserve a little fun. How's your family?" "My shift ends before five, so I'll definitely go to the festival. My family is doing fine, my brothers are annoying as ever, haha." Alaura and her didn't talk much, but when they did, she was a sweetheart. Terrence seemed a little quiet during the whole exchange.

She wrote down Alaura's order of a caesar salad with grilled chicken and a water with lemon, and Terrence's of a turkey club and a glass of water. "They'll be out in a moment." she assured as she sauntered off to the kitchen. Viona came back out with their food and drinks a few minutes later, and set them down in front of them. "Enjoy~" Her phone buzzed in her back pocket and she took it out to check it.
To: Viona

Of course I’ll be there; I’ll be manning the kissing booth apparently. If you’re lucky I’ll give you one for free.

From: Ronan

She smiled and leaned against an empty table as she typed back.

To: Ronan

Haha nice, can't wait. :) See you there.

From: Viona

Sliding the phone back in her pocket, she went back to work.

Dehlilah smiled at Viona when she asked for their order and ordered a fruit pastry. When she came back she instantly started eating the fruity delectable. She turned to see Odessa at the counter and waved at her. Before turning back to her friends.

Dehlilah looked up as Tony said "You'll have to excuse me," He said with a long sigh and a stretch. She blushed as she noticed how toned his abs are. "Dad might need me to help put up finishing touch ups around town I'll catch up with you later, boss." Tony promised before before saying goodbye to her sister and Fin.

-miday-

She leaned back in her seat before finishing of her Pastry and turning to Fin and Amanda, "I have to go, but I will see you later ok?" She said with her signature half smile and wave. She turned and saw Layla and her brother. She waved at them and stopped by the table "Bye Layla, see you later right?" She said, not really waiting to hear the answer she just smiled and waved. She left the restaurant and went to make amends.

She spotted Mack and ran over to him. "Um, hey I didn't want to interrupt but um can you ask the girl, my friend ran into if she's ok?" She asked, her breath a little breathy from running and being nervous. She ran a hand through her hair "I would have helped, but I didn't know if you'd want us," She said motioning to herself "To put our noses in your business," She looked over her shoulder before continuing "I have to go, I just wanted to ask that." She put a hand on his arm "Thanks, seriously," She added before walking away.

She walked to her house. This was her abode. She loved her house. It was a pink and white rose coveredcottage. Her cottage was a romantic dream in her eyes. She took a nice hot shower, before she heard the sounds of yapping down the hall signaling that her four dogs barelled intoher room. She wrapped herself in a big fluffy pink bathrobe before sitting on her bed. Her dog Hibiscus was curled up in her dog bed in the corner of the room. Chocolate was rolling around on her bed, Though her smallest dogs Mouse and Bows were vying for her attention by pawing either side of her laps as she did her hair. She decided to a intricate rose design in her hair

She walked over to her closet and began sorting through her clothes for a nice outfit. She sighed and collapsed into a shell shaped plush chair.

Fin followed the two blonde sisters and Tony as they entered the restaurant, and upon entering he was happily assaulted by the smell of freshly cooked food. He noticed Odessa sitting by herself and without even thinking he grinned as he feet steered him towards the girl. Though he was brought back to the group as Dehlilah asking for a table for four and food overtook his previous thought pattern.

Fin smiled broadly as Viona approached their table, she had always been one of his favourite people in Northbay since she was always so friendly and up for a conversation. He order his meal and happily ate it when Viona returned from the kitchen with it.

-.-.-.-

It was after they had all finished lunch that Amanda excused herself first. “Bye,” Finn called out to Amanda as she walked out before turning back to Dehlilah and smiling sheepishly. “And then there were two,” he said as he his eyes slide to the clock on the far wall. “And pretty soon there will only be one,” he said reluctantly as he realised that his was due to start his shift at the restaurant now.

“My shift here starts in five,” He explained and he motioned to restaurant they were sitting in. “I really do hate to leave such a pretty girl alone though,” Fin added on while smiling broadly since Dehlilah being exceedingly pretty was just a commonly accepted fact. Sighing he got up and headed through the restaurant towards the back room. Though even just that took him at least five minutes seemings as he kept stopping to say ‘hi’ to pretty much everyone who had come in for lunch.

“Enjoy your lunch Layla,” Fin said grinning as he walked pasted Layla’s table, remembering her from earlier outside the restaurant. “-And it’s Xander right?” Fin asked the guy she was sharing a table with, he was pretty sure he was her brother but he couldn’t be sure. Though he was always up for meeting new people.

He hardly waited to hear the two’s answers before moving on further through the restaurant greeting more people as he went. He also found Odessa sitting by herself clearly enjoying her meal, he found her love of food somewhat endearing. “I take it your enjoying that?” He asked casually as he slid in behind the counter she was eating at, grinning at Viona who was standing nearby. Though he crossed his finger hoping she didn’t comment on his slight lateness.

“Hey co-worker,” He greeted cheerily, “read any good books lately?” Pretty much everyone who knew Viona knew she was a sucker for a good fiction book. Though he turned and made a playfully revolted faced and mouthed reading to Odessa while also making hand motions like reading a book. Fin did not understand reading at all, for him there was nothing more boring then reading a book, all through high school he had been constantly thrown out of English class for not reading the novels. After a paragraph of reading he just tuned out and would let his attention wander onto a new activity.

The main street of Northbay, still illuminated by the soon to be setting sun, has come alive. Music (a local folk band currently playing on the stage) drifts down the street.

Residents arrive to take a look at what the festival has to offer: food, games, competitions, raffles and trinkets for sale.

Of course, given that the town's residents are the descendent of gods you can bet that there will be other stalls selling magical items and game booths encouraging use of powers.

Mack Nephthys

- Midday -

Mack was shaking his head as a pair of helpers moved a beam of wood into place,
"Watch where you're..." He started to warn the pair before, crash! the beam hit another pile of poles and sent them rolling across the road. Luckily most of the street was blocked off from pedestrians so there was little need for Mack to run screaming after them. Instead he simply pointed after them to the pair that had caused the crash.

A moment later a voice made him turn and he found Dehlilah Cyprus standing behind him.
"Um, hey I didn't want to interrupt but um can you ask the girl, my friend ran into if she's ok?" She sounded nervous, or perhaps she was just breathless from running across the street.
"Jade. Her name is Jade." Mack said. He felt uncharacteristically defensive of Jade. He was a friendly guy, he didn't take too many things to heart and was easily able to brush off most insults. But the crash this morning had almost cost Jade her babies and in his eyes Dehlilah had been more concerned with getting Antonio into the restaurant than caring for the hurt girl. Still, the fact that she was here asking after Jade meant that Mack's voice wasn't cold, it was simply lacking its usual warmth.

"I would have helped, but I didn't know if you'd want us... To put our noses in your business," Mack wondering who 'our' was meant to be, Dehlilah and Antonio? Mack shook his head slightly. He was about to argue that it had only been 'his' business because he had been concerned, but decided to hold his tongue. He liked Dehlilah well enough, from the little he had seen of her around town. Besides a moment later she looked over her shoulder. She said goodbye, placed a hand on his arm and added "Thanks, seriously," before leaving.

After she left Mack turned back to the set-up, shaking his head as he saw that in the few minutes his attention had been elsewhere all chaos had erupted...

- 5:00 pm -

Mack sat back, enjoying the cool beer in his hand as he watched the cordons open and the first residents enter the festival. Mack was at one of the stalls set up outside the bar, fairy lights twinkled above his head and the setting sun was caught and held by the string of mirror-like, plastic crystals that were twined around a nearby lamp post. Soon enough the whole street would be lit by the fairy lights and street lamp, creating a magical setting for the night's festivities.

Mack's hangover of the morning was well and truly gone. In fact, if he found the right people he wouldn't be against making an event out of tonight. He finished his beer and signaled for the bar keep who passed him another. He popped it open, appreciating the tsk of goodness being released.
"To a good night." He said to the bar keep, tilting his bottle in a salute. He returned his gaze to the street, took a sip and leaned back, waiting for the night to begin.

Viona looked up at Fin as he slid behind the counter and grinned at her. She returned a wide smile as he greeted her. “Hey co-worker, read any good books lately?” "Hey Fin, a tad late are we?" she asked him jokingly. "Oh yeah, I did read this book called..." She trailed off as she saw him making hand motions of reading, and playfully pushed his hands away. She knew Fin wasn't one to read, he didn't get how staring at a page with words was entertaining.

"Anyway, it sucks that your shift starts when the festival does." Viona grabbed started wiping the counter as her shift drew to an end. "When it does end, we should meet up." She turned to Odessa with a smile and added, "You too Odessa!" Tugging at the strings of her apron, she took it off and put it back where she got it. "I gotta go, see you guys later~" She called, looking back and giving them a wave as she stepped out of the restaurant.

Viona headed towards Main street, taking her time as it was still early, not many people would be at the festival yet. As she neared, she could see the many stalls set up along the sides, and the lanterns strung up. Now that the decorating and building was done, it looked great. She paused by a stall selling jewelery and trinkets. A silver bracelet with small lightning bolt charms caught her eye. Looking closer, each lightning bolt was set with small light blue stones. It was really pretty, and it associated with her power. She purchased the little bracelet and put it on, her fingers struggling with the clasp for a moment. She thanked the vendor before continuing down the street, looking at the other stalls.

"I sure am. I hope you guys are looking forward to the festival. The last time Northbay threw the lantern festival I was seven. It was so much fun." Daphne nodded. "Tonight is looking to be a lot of fun!" She says. Her phone then receives a text so she looks to see who its from.

To: Ariel, Asta, Julian, Leslie, Ronan, Bryce, Chione, Ramses, Fin, Daphne, Izzy, Stephanie.
Message: [GROUP MESSAGE] Hey everyone! I know this is super last minute, but I was supposed to work the kissing booth and get it organized, but... something came up. I have the following time slots that need to be filled, and I would love you forever if you could take a shift? 6:00-6:30, 7:00-7:30, 8:00-8:30, 9:00-9:30, and 10:00-10:30. The thirty minutes between each time the booth will hold raffles- the money goes to the school playground! Martha ((NPC)) will be taking care of the raffles, so after your thirty minutes is up you're free (: Let me know, guys! Again, thanks so much!

To: Jade

Yeah sure I'd love to help out. I can work the 9:00-9:30 shift if its open, if not then the 10:00-10:30 shift.

She turned back to Asta and Bobby. "I have some errands to do before I go out tonight so I'll see you both later." Daphne said and headed out.

(time skipping to 5:00pm because I'm behind)

~5:00pm~

Daphne walked along the boardwalk down by the bay. The sun was setting and the festival was about to get started. She didn't see too many of her friends around. She figured they'd probably send her a text so she just walked around, looking at her feet, focusing on the space between each step. She looked out at the water, a pretty blue with the sun shining on it. She felt the urge for a dip but she had no time for that. Daphne sighed and sat down on the edge of the dock, her feet dangling over the side. She slid out her phone.

To: Bobby, Stephanie, Asta, Fin, Amanda

Whats everyone up to? I'm down by the bay and haven't seen anybody and I'm bored out of my mind.

Seeing Fin in the restaurant, Xander gave him a friendly smile. "Hey, yeah, you got it right." He called after him, but poor Fin was already gone and working harder. Xander could never understand how hard people could work at something outside of their passion. The only reason he worked hard at the dance studio was because that was his passion, he loved dancing far more than anyhting else. With that, he turned to his sister again. "Come on! We're gonna be late for the festival if you take too much longer. I may be lazy, but you're the procrastinator." Xander gave his baby sister a small smirk, then ushered her out of the restaurant.

-5 PM-

Xander had decided soon after he had gotten to the festival to go and leave Layla with her boyfriend. Sometimes he really wished that he could have someone to be with, but he didn't dwell on it much. If it was gonna happen, it would happen in it's own time. Meanwhile, he would enjoy the festival to its fullest, and he did that by walking around and buying foods like corn dogs and funnel cake. The sticky goodness was wonderful, and he licked every bit f it off his fingers as he walked around more and more.

Eventually, Xander saw Viona at a jewlery stand with a new bit of jewelery on her, and he was glad to see a familiar face. He made his way over to her after he realized she was walking away and tapped her on the shoulder, with clean fingers of course. "Hey girlie. How are you liking the festival so far?" Xander walked next to Viona and looked around the area, admiring the different stalls that were available. "My sister decided to go make kissy faces with her boyfriend and I've been left to fend for myself." He said with a slight chuckle, after feigning pain. "So what's your story? Did you get dragged here with anyone, or did you come on your own for fun? You supposed to be meeting anyone around here?"

Image Layla knew that her prank didn't work, her brother drinked the cool lemonade with ease, at this she scrunched her nose and threw Xander a deadly glare. She shrugged it off and pressed her lips against the red plastic straw and drank some of her coke, it wasn't actually that bad. It had a really good taste to it actually, no wonder her brother loved the stuff, she exclaimed with joy of how much she loved the drink, and it was sort of nice to have something to drink from the summer sun outside. She finished the beverage in one last suck, and sat the glass back down on the table. Her brothers glass was almost empty to, and she looked at the slight cringe on Xander's face, she could tell that his mouth was starting to get all weird and she laughed at this, almost guffawing. "Now, what is it that we are doing at this festival that was so important that you had to get me out of bed? Just kissing your boyfriend to remind me I'm alone?" Xander asked her, taking another sip of his drink. She could tell that her brother had the intention of revenge in his mind, but there was nothing that he could do. Well there is countless things he could do to get back at her, at this she actually began to wonder at ways he could get back at her. She shrugged to herself and said back to her brother, "No, you are actually invited to walk around with us, i'm sure that Bryce wouldn't mind." He stood up and offered his hand to her, while tucking in his own chair, "Let's go to this festival then. It's starting soon, right?"

Before she could take his hand, someone started to walk over, it was that Fin guy that she met out in front of the restaurant. The one feature that stood out for her was his hair, it was just so heavenly and wonderful, but to be honest all his features were sexy. “Enjoy your lunch Layla,” he said to her, smiling. Before she could reply he just continued to walk the other way, he did say something to Xander but she didn't really catch it. She looked a bit confused before taking her brothers outstretched hand, she stood up and let go of his hand, as she saw someone walk into the restaurant. It was Bryce, he was hot as ever, she was filled with joy and ran over and planted a kiss on his lips, maybe she annoyed a couple of people with her joyful greeting/scream, looking back briefly she saw that her brother was already gone, off to do his own thing probably.

-5PM-

The street was filled with people, the street was lined with various stalls and games. Layla wanted to try them all, they looked so fun and exciting, it was like she was a kid again. As the couple made their way through the street, arm in arm he asked her, "So, where should we start? Games? Music? Food?" Layla could tell that he would do what she wanted, but she had a craving for fun so her mind was already made up. "Perhaps go on a ride?" he added, as he gestured to the ferris wheel up ahead. The festival was altered to accommodate the giant moving wheel, she decided that she wanted to go on that last, to add last touch of romance to the night. She had got this from several movies of course, those were her favourite kinds of movies, where the girl got the perfect girl or vice versa. She could tell that he was bursting with energy, "How about we try to dunk some people?" she had said with a devilish smile, jumping up and down slightly with excitement, she had liked the idea of making people fall into water. Also she was a good aim so she hardly missed, but they don't know that don't they!

Odessa smiled with her mouth closed and swallowed her food before laughing at Fin and his pantomime of book reading. To look at him one would think that he’d actually read something before which Odessa almost doubted seeing his strict aversion to it. Pushing away her now empty place she nodded happily to his question and grinned brightly at the handsome boy next to her. “It was delicious and I could probably eat two more plates’ worth, but a girl’s gotta watch her figure. Saving room for festival food is very hard, but totally worth it.” Odessa explained, patting her flat and firm midsection, her thoughts drifting to the festival that would be starting quite soon. She had to work that night but not until ten or so she’d definitely get to enjoy the best of the festivities albeit she’d probably be enjoying them alone as per usual. Unless…

“Speaking of the festival, what are your plans for later? I was gonna go stag but if I can rope someone into braving some rides with me I think all the better, right? What do you think, want to meet up later? I’ll win you a stuffed animal if you say yes.” Odessa offered, her big blue eyes slipping into puppy dog mode, of course if he said no it wouldn’t be that much of a disappointment. Odessa was a divisive personality and most people either hated or loved her, her and Fin has always seemed to get along just fine so she was confident in the fact that they’d probably enjoy each other’s company. At least for the evening and if they could gather up more people, well the more the merrier.

“Anyway, if you’re up for it, let me know. I’ll be at the pub probably, or you can text me.” The greek girl offered confidently, another smile gracing her face as she reached into her bag and pulled out money to pay and tip for her meal. “Well, I’m off. It was excellent as usual; I’ll see you guys later.” She finished brightly, taking her leave of the restaurant and heading back to her small apartment to shower and change.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a shower and a tiny nap, Odessa finally decided to get ready for the festival and quickly dressed in a bright blue summery dress that played up the blue in her eyes. Applying a small amount of makeup she slipped into a pair of sandals and headed out the door. Hopping into her car she drove the five minutes to the pub and parked in the employee parking lot and took in the sights of the fest. It had really come together and it actually had the ideal effect of making Odessa feel welcomed. Not wasting another moment she quickly entered the festival grounds, obtained her lantern and wondered where on earth she should start.

Julian couldn’t help but join his sister in her abrupt laughter; the thought was really quite ridiculous. A good majority of the people in town either hated him or were afraid of him he doubted they’d be happy to see his face behind the kissing booth. Of course that only made him want to take part, he was always one for subverting the expectations of others and what better way than to be charitable, helpful lad. Thinking it over for a brief moment as Ava flirted shamelessly with his sister he quickly came to the decision that he’d just ignore the text. He’d rather make a mark in a more distinctive, exciting fashion, something he was sure he and Calypso could do with their hands tied behind their backs.

“Think I’m going to have to pass on that.” Julian murmured to himself as he slid his phone back into his pocket and smiled innocently at Ava’s assumption that she was the only one capable of persuasion. Every time Julian opened his mouth he had the opportunity to change someone’s mind, their actions or feelings but he didn't exactly relish the thought of using it to make people kiss him and pay him for it at the same time. He did have some principles to many people’s surprise.

Julian took his sister upon her invitation to come back to her place and spend the afternoon watching mindless television. They’d lay around like Jones town victims and have beers until it was time to meet with Alyssa and perhaps Ava. Waggling his fingers in farewell to the pretty brunette before him he smirked. “We’ll see you later then. Don’t keep us waiting, we’re extremely impatient.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hours later he followed his sister to the pub and immediately headed for the bathroom; he’d already had a few beers and knew that once he broke the seal he’d never be able to go back. Julian took his time while in the restroom, whipping his hair out of his face and smiling grimly at his own reflection as he washed his hands and dried them. Straightening the plain, slightly too small, black t-shirt he had on he left the restroom and spied Calypso now joined by Alyssa and Ava both. Coming up behind the three girls he quickly and quietly joined them and he signaled for a beer.

“Now don’t you worry your pretty little heads, I’m present and accounted for. Guy can’t visit the men’s room without getting his picture put on the back of a milk carton?” He replied in greeting a broad grin crossing his handsome face as he grabbed his beer and took a swallow. Resting his arm on the back of his bar stool he glanced around the pub and took in the scene. Julian figured that most of the bar’s usual patrons were out among the crowded festival, buying their beer from vendors who charged way too much.

Turning back to Alyssa he looked her up and down appreciatively before leaning forward and approving of her makeshift plan. “I personally vote for all of the above.” He said with another smile, this time a bit more intimate for Alyssa’s benefit although he wasn’t as keen on inviting Tut or Mack. He liked Mack just fine, even found himself slightly attracted to him but Tut was another story. They didn’t exactly get along and the last thing Julian wanted or needed was competition.

Ronan stopped outside of the festival and took a deep breath. He only had a about an hour before he needed to report to the kissing booth so he’d have to entertain himself somehow, as he had that thought his stomach rumbled, deciding to let him know that the he skipped lunch. Recalling that he’d worked straight through in a hurry to leave he figured his first stop would be to one of the many food stalls. As he entered the fest, received his lantern and made his way to the nearest vendor he stopped abruptly. Of course he couldn’t eat festival food now, he was going to have to get up close and personal with people in less than an hour and the last thing they probably paid for was an onion kiss or something.

Sighing he instead made his way to one of the beer vendors and grabbed himself a pint before taking a moment to take a look around the festival. They’d really done it, it looked spectacular, the last festival had been when he was twelve and he thought it spectacular then too. With his mood brightened he decided that exploration was his best bet. Trekking along the midway he watched as people won and lost at carnival games, little kids with cotton candy as big as their heads and couples partaking of the many rides afforded to them.

Pushing his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose he took a large sip of his beer and looked around for any familiar or friendly face. Most notably, his brother, his mother and Viona. Not seeing any of them he shrugged to himself lightly and followed the sound of live music. It was there that he found a spot and swallowed the rest of his beer as he listened to the strains of the Irish folk music coming from stage. For a moment he felt relaxes and at peace, taking his glasses off he tilted his head to the slowly darkening sky and lost himself in the music. He had a feeling tonight would be fantastic and if it wasn’t he’d just drink until it was.
