Fears:
+Never living up to his potential, or at least what his parents have always told him was his potential. + Forever working a mind-numbing, soulless career for the rest of his life + Missing a typo or an error and letting a huge, embarrassing mistake be published.
Hobbies: Crosswords ā Hunting, usually deer and always legally. ā Writing.
Ancestor: Odin ā God of War, Wisdom, Magic and Poetry
Powers:
Much like his ancestor Odin, Ronan is gifted with enhanced strength, speed, dexterity and is more than capable in a physical confrontation. Thereās also the small matter of magic. Most descendants of Odin have at least some small control over magic, be it just simple spells. Ronan is capable of using magic to funnel extra strength into his blows. For example a magically charged punch to the face, also handy for when you want to hit a moving target. Heās also capable of using magic to defend himself, forming a protective barrier around himself.
Weaknesses: Ronan is incapable of casting a protective barrier around anyone besides himself, he also doesnāt have an unlimited supply of magic and can be drained to the point of unconsciousness. As for his other weaknesses; he tends to be a bit on the gullible side and wants to believe the best in others. Smokes like a freight train when stressed which is always. Is easily frustrated and lacks patience especially if he feels no one is listening to him.
Strengths: Excellent footballer ā Decent writer/journalist ā plays the piano fairly well and has since he was a boy. ā Exceptionally friendly and inviting, Ronan does his best to have an open mind. Usually.
Thoughts: The Norse and Egyptians have been at it for as long as I can remember and just now when we've started settling our issues here come the Greeks to add on to it. Hopefully they just blend in and we continue our existence as if they've always been here. I mean, thatās what we did with the Egyptians right?
Personality:
Ronan is the epitome of upright, obedient, dutiful second son. He takes his loyalties and responsibilities very seriously and always has. He's been described as a bit on the serious side, meticulous and analytical which serves him well as a copy editor for the local paper. Ronan takes his work seriously, but feel dragged down by the monotony of it. It can get tiring combing over every little fragment and picture that went in the paper, but that's why he got a degree in communications and journalism...so he could be a glorified proof reader.
He tends to be a bit on the oblivious side when it comes to other people and their motivations and is at times quite gullible and naive. This comes from living a very sheltered life due to his parents and older brother being very protective of the twenty-two year old. He isn't s discerning as his family would like when it comes to making friends or where he liked to hang out but he never lets them put a cramp in his style.
The descendant of Odin likes to give everyone at least one chance before he totally dismisses them and has attracted a rag-tag assortment of friends due to this aspect of his nature. He likes to let loose, usually on the weekends, have a few drinks and hit on a few girls. Nothing too terribly exciting, although he wouldn't mind maybe finding something a bit more serious to occupy his time.
History:
Ronan was born the youngest son of a fairly well to do and well connected family. As the youngest he was babied a bit more, was given a bit more leeway and a few more freedoms although the expectations for Ronan were just as high as the ones they held for his brother. Ronan thrived under pressure and was more than glad to try and keep up with his brother as best he could. Be it in school, academics or extracurricular activities. One would think that this competitive aspect between the brothers would lead to a disastrous relationship and while it may occasionally be contentious the brothers seem to be close enough.
When he was eighteen he went away to university and studied journalism and communications, he knew that his passion lay with the written word and he didn't quite have the patience to be an English lit major. He tended to exceed expectations while in school, once again thriving in an environment that required self-motivation which he was quite use to. This is also when he had his first serious relationship which ended in disaster when he found out she was cheating on him with their resident adviser. Soon after that heartbreak he graduated and returned home to Northbay to nurse his wounds and figure out what to do next with his life. After getting the job of copy editor for the local newspaper, with some help from his parents, he realized that perhaps he's not so keen on journalism and would prefer to sit at home and write whatever came to mind.
Perhaps a lifetime of regimentation has taken it's toll and all Ronan would like to do is relax, try and have some fun while he could and drink his weight in whisky.
