O'Rileys

Laura was sitting with her purse between her ankles at O'Rileys. She asked the bartender for a full bottle of jack and she gulped it down fast. Jack was the only alcohol she knew wouldn't wear off in three hours flat, with jack she got about four. Before she knew it she was face down on the bar upset because for the second new years' in a row, she was alone. Even though she grew up here, she had always been the girl never to get famous, she used to be a nerd, always hanging out in Sandy's Book-Loft, but now she only sat alone in Neon Blue sometimes O'Rileys. It was so bad Ted the bouncer and Laura were on a first name basis. Laura being the nerd she was graduated tech school at the age of 21. Able to make money quickly and whenever she wanted online was a bonus for the young party girl; unfortunately boys never fell for those types, being a former nerd didn't help much either. Especially because even now she was always online via her phone, and laptop computer at home.

She was giving up, but finally she snapped out of her thoughts. Tonight she would flirt hard core, she decided. 'Maybe that horoscope was right' she thought curiously. Hopefully she'd make a few friends too, other than Ted. So she sat at the bar and waited for a guy flirt-worthy to walk in.

Laura looked up from her bottle of jack and her little wallow of sadness to see a boy walk up, and ask "Is this seat taken?" It took her more than a second to respond, it'd been so long since she'd talked to a boy that she didn't know. He had blue eyes, and black hair, a combination you didn't see very often. Overall he was really cute, and if she had a type he'd of been it. Suddenly she forgot how to speak, and suffered a nod. Laura set her bottle on the table and looked at the boy, he belonged at a club like Neon Blue, or at Sandy's Bookstore; but then again, so did she. Laura looked at him again, trying to find words, finally she muttered very quietly "Why are you all by yourself?" 'I am so stupid!'the young red head thought looking back at her bottle.

Michael took a seat next to her. "Well...I'm usually alone...not that that's what I prefer, it just happens. What's a girl like yourself doing alone? I'm Michael, by the way." He looked down, embarrassed. Why is it that he couldn't find any words? He was grasping for words to say to her, and didn't understand why.

"Oh well, I prefer quieter places. Give me a good book over partying any 'ol day." Yollanda replied on honestly.

She did love music though. In her spare time when she was alone, she tended to sing out of habit. One time one of her friends caught her and insisted she take lessons because she thought she was great, but this was one thing she did not want to do because the idea of sharing something like that scared her. She had already been rejected in the past, what if it happened with something she truly loved doing? It just wasn't something she was willing to risk.

Soon they arrived at O'Reilly's and the place looked very welcoming. It didn't feel like an ordinary bar.

"Where shall we sit?" she asked Zac.
