"It's not clean... It's filthy, scum-covered... I gotta wash it, scrub it... I have to clean."
When under the influence of medical drugs, Alda is happy, kind, but generally soft spoken. When she doesn't take her medication, she becomes frantic and frightened by all the 'dirt and filth and scum' that she believes is covering her and everything around her. When pushed to the brink in that state, she becomes violent and sobs uncontrollably.
Alda grew up a normal child, or at least that is what others thought. No one recognized her odd habits of washing five times a day, but as it was never a problem, they just assumed she liked to be clean. However, when she was seventeen, Alda took a turn for the worst. She started spring cleaning, but then it turned to her cleaning the entire house over and over again. She couldn't stop and her parents intervened when they saw her start scrubbing herself raw, sobbing at how she was filthy. Her behavior got worse and after a year of trying to take care of her, her parents were pushed to admit her into Dr. William Smith's hospital.
