Out of the Arnault twins, Charlotte is definitely the one who is more down to earth and humble. She appreciates the finer things in life and isn't ditching her designer jackets for thrift shop ones, but she also isn't the kind of person who's going to rack up thousands of dollars worth of bills over clothes that she knows she's never actually going to wear. Compared to her sister, she's also far more independent. Another one of her positive character traits comes in the form of being intelligent. She's extremely bright and always has been, and probably would have been regardless of the tutors and expensive schools her parents were able to afford her. Academics have always interested her and she thinks that her introverted personality plays into this. She's the kind of girl who a lot of the time, would truly rather be sitting at home in her pajamas with a cup of tea, studying for her history midterm, over going to some crazy party. Surprisingly, while it's a common side to her, it's not a side that a lot of people would attribute with her character. She doesn't have the reputation for being some sweet little bookworm who stays in every Friday night to catch up on the latest documentary on the History Channel.
More so, Charlotte is known for the personality that she possesses when her friends convince her to get out of the house, because this is the personality that she tends to possess around people in general - regardless of whether it's in the classroom or at a party. The laid back, quiet and thoughtful side of her is reserved for when she's alone, or with very close friends. Otherwise, people see the side of Charlotte that's rough around the edges. She's abrasive and callous, often finding amusement out of calling people out on their bullshit or purposely bringing things up to make them uncomfortable or the situation awkward. She does it because she thinks it's funny, and it's relevant to the sense of humor that she possesses that is somewhat dark, manipulative, and definitely sarcastic. She prides herself in being quick with comebacks, so witty is definitely a word that she would appreciate being used to describe her. As noted, Charlotte has an introverted side to her that surprises a lot of people, but because of this, she tends to be more irritable than normal people would be, when forced into social situations for too long. Her kinda-can-be-considered-playful attitude because actually mean, and she isn't exactly fun to be around. Her social skills could definitely use some improvement, and she's well aware of that. With that in mind, she doesn't mind people being blunt and upfront with her, and pointing out her flaws, because that's how she is with other people. She's sometimes too blunt, but in her defense, she'll only dish what she can take.
One thing that's noteworthy about Charlotte, is that she seems to "go big or go home" in most things that she does. If she's studying for an exam, she's studying to get an 100% on it, and not a point less. If she's at home in bed, she's going to binge watch as much of the series she's watching as she can until she passes out. If she's out with her friends, she's drinking and smoking and getting herself into as much trouble is possible up until a point of getting arrested or passing out. So, while her sense of humor and tendencies to be blunt can be off putting to a lot of people, she's also an enjoyable friend to have around. What might be the most important trait about her, is that to her friends, she's extremely loyal and trustworthy.

History:
The head of the Arnault clan is Bernard Arnault, age 67, who is a French business magnate, investor and art collector. He has been the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH since 1989. From 1973 to 1990, Bernard was in a marriage that produced four children. Following his divorce from this wife, he spent some years dating and returning his focus to his business. In 1997, he met Jacqueline McEnroe, a young artist who was living in New York City at the time. The two began dating, and wed a year later, and a few years after that, they conceived twin girls. Charlotte was the first born, being two minutes older than her fraternal twin sister, Adeline. A year later, the couple the couple divorced. Bernard's work often left him traveling out of the country, and Jacqueline was young, with a career in music that was just taking off. She didn't want to be at home raising two babies any more than he did. When she was offered a seat in the Chicago Symphony, a position that would require her to spend a few months a year in Europe, she couldn't say no. Bernard was given primary custody of the girls, and though their mother spent most of her time when not overseas in New York, while the girls were young, they were primarily raised by nannies. Bernard was living in the same house as them for most of their youth (though he was frequently making business trips back to Paris), but it wasn't until the girls were teenagers that he ever really settled down and tried to be a dad. In recent years, he's been relinquishing some of the control of his business to the children of his first marriage, who are all adults by now, and in turn, he's been able to spend more time trying to parent. That's what he claims, at least. Charlotte is sure that the only reason why he's more present at home now, is because a few months ago, he got remarried, and actually seems to be quite infatuated with his new wife. She doesn't really mind (unlike her sister), because it hasn't changed her life drastically.
There was nothing really abnormal about Charlotte, growing up. She was a happy kid, one who enjoyed participating in a multitude of sports and activities, such as soccer, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, art classes and violin lessons. She made friends fairly easily, and did exceptionally well in school. Her relationship with her parents was good, and she never really realized that her parents were far less involved in her life than her friends' parents were, so it didn't bother her much. Adeline and her were always butting heads, even as little girls, but it was always in a sibling sort of way, where one minute they were ripping each other's hair out, and the next, watching a movie together. She was more of a tomboy growing up than a girly girl, which was definitely different than her twin sister, who was quite girly and basically a walking replica and best friend of their mother. As Charlotte got older, though, that tomboy side of her began to set her apart from her friends in the Upper East Side, who became fixated on designer clothes and makeup and looking pretty for the approval of their male classmates. She didn't want to go to debutante balls or spend hours in a salon getting her hair done. She wanted to be hopping on the subway and getting off at a random stop, so that she could have an adventure, trying to find her way back home on her own. She wanted to be in Central Park playing baseball with her guy friends, or in the library looking for a book that she had been recommended by a teacher. All of that pretty and prissy stuff didn't interest her, and maybe she had pushed her friends away too, but she felt like they were the ones pushing her away. It led to a rebellious phase that she still hasn't quite fallen out of yet, and one that she actually feels comfortable in. She no longer tries to be anything that she doesn't want to be. She doesn't do anything that she doesn't want to do (unless she can find enough logic and reason to do it, where the benefits outweigh the negatives). Becoming involved in drugs isn't something that she's necessarily proud of, but it's also not something that she's ashamed of or hides. She's probably become too habitual with her marijuana usage, since it seems like she's smoking at least once a day, but she doesn't think she has a problem. To her, it's just another hobby, and no more harmful than her recent interest in philosophy, or her love for museums is.
