Nicknames: When he's in trouble he's refered to by his middle name.

THE BODY
Height: 5' 10"
Build: Thin but athletic at the same time. He isn't Mr. muscle man or anything, but he isn't a skinny weakling either.
Distinguishing Features: Laiden has a small scar on his forehead. He got it during a sparring session with his older brother when the two of the them got a little out of control.
Magic/Powers: He can lift objects with his mind. But he never showed much talent for magic, so it takes a lot of effort to do so, and the headaches it gives him don't usually make it worth it. He only uses it in desperate situations.

Weapons & Armor: When leaving the castle he always carries a longsword. With the arrive of the Bandit Lords he's made it a habit to always carry one.
Other Important Possessions: Laiden is always wearing his necklace. It was a gift from his late mother and something he treasures.
THE MIND
Likes: Laiden loves sword fighting, in his free time he can usually be seen swinging a sword around in the training ground. He also likes singing, as he has a beautiful voice. He loves when it rains, the sound is soothing to him. The color purple, there's just something about it that Laiden likes. Laiden loves his family, no matter how annoying they get. Being outside, the sounds, the smells, the colors, everything about it.
Dislikes: When people compare him to his brother, he is his own person. The color yellow, for some reason it just annoys him. Hot weather, his body doesn't do well in the heat. Being stuck inside, when he is he tends to be in a bit of a bad mood. People touching him, even his own family, it makes his skin crawl. War, all the meaningless death caused by war to be more specific. Storms, the rain brings thunder with it, Laiden doesn't like it so much.
Hobbies: Sword fighting, reading books while sitting in trees, challenging his brother.
Fears: Laiden is terrified of thunder. He doesn't know why, he's always been that way. When he was a child if it happened during daytime he would start crying, if it happened at night he would crawl under his bed and not sleep. Now that he's older if it happens during daytime he flinches, if it happens at night he burrows completely under the covers and doesn't sleep.
Personality: Laiden is usually calm and polite. But watch out, he has nasty temper. He's a good listener and has the advice to back it up. He's honest to a fault, sometimes too honest, and that can get him on people's bad sides. Laiden prefers to be alone but doesn't mind company either. When he sets his mind to something, nothing can stop him from reaching his goal. He can hold a grudge for years, and has before. He's naturally serious, but tends to take things too seriously. Laiden is never relaxed, his muscles are always tense. The smallest sounds can wake him up in the middle of night and he trouble falling asleep to begin with. He dislikes the taste of all kinds of alcohol and nevers drinks it. He's over protective of his family, especially of his sisters. He wouldn't hesitate to give him life for one of them.

Laiden grew up in the shadow of his older brother. Since his brother was the crown prince, Laiden would always get compared to him. But this didn't make Laiden jealous, or hateful. In fact it made him push himself. If his brother could carry a ten pound bag of flour, Laiden would strive to carry a fifteen pound bag. Even if it was something silly like, who got up first, or who could stay up the latest. Of course everyone else thought it was a game, something Laiden did because he was bored. But it wasn't, it was something that Laiden was serious about. One day during a sparring match with his brother, he tooks things a little too far and he ended up with a scar. He never even managed to land a hit on his brother. After that he stopped the 'game', giving up on surpassing his brother. He realized that no matter what anybody said, no matter how much they compared him to his brother, he was his own person and nobody could say otherwise. Laiden was always close to the youngest princess, his sister. As the two of them were usually forgotten at social events, because the crown prince and oldest princess were the center of attention. They've always shared secrets with each other, comforted each other when the other was upset, and many other things. Still to this day Laiden goes to her first if something is bothering him.
