Mona Carson and Jake Fare

Jake: "Is there ANYTHING that you find interesting?" Mona: "Er, wait, no. Not really :\."

a character in “Moon Guardians”, as played by court.nickles

Description

Name: Mona Carson
Age: 16

Appearance: Mona is 5’5 1/2, with long legs, and has a skinny and thin frame. She doesn’t have big boobs, darn it, or a lot of other curves, but she’s happy the way she is. She has long, straight, red hair that reaches her hips. She has pale, ivory skin. Her face is small and roundish, with big brown doe-eyes. She usually pulls her long hair up in a ponytail and drapes it over her shoulder. She doesn’t like wearing a lot of make-up… really she might only wear lip-gloss occasionally. Her favorite clothing is her knit sweaters, skinny jeans, and the boots that she pulls over them. Her mother is always telling her she’s pretty enough and should show off her figure, but Mona just shrugs to that. There’s no reason to do that. Mean girls are always telling her she’s “too boney, go eat a hamburger.” She always wears a silver chain bracelet with a little locket on it. Though she hasn’t put a picture in there yet.

Wolf Appearance: Her fur is a mix between brown, red, and dark brown. While her belly is brown, her back is a dark brown and gray, and around her neck is a collar of red. She has a little white area underneath her muzzle and throat. She’s a small wolf; her face is pointed and almost fox-like. She’s very agile, but it’s easier for the bigger wolves to throw her around… if they can catch hold of her. Her teeth are sharp and she’s got a good grip, if she could get a good hold of you she’s perfectly capable of ripping you to pieces, the little scrapper. She still keeps her big, brown eyes in her wolf form.

Personality: Mona doesn’t show emotion a lot. You get the best picture of who Mona is when she’s playing her acoustic guitar or the piano, and she forgets that anyone is watching her. You’ll see her smiling to herself. When there is action to take, Mona won’t be one to sit around and wait for someone to make the first move. Heck, she could do it just as well as the next person. She likes to be alone, which is why she likes the mornings (and the fact that she just experienced a nice night out in her wolf form). That’s when she’s in her best mood and she might actually talk to you. Cheerful people annoy her, or more or less, ignorant and cheerful people. So do defenseless people. If you spend enough time with Mona, you realize she has a kind of cute, soft-spoken and shy side to her. She likes being in her wolf form just as much as her human one.

History: Mona grew up with her mother and little brother in a neighborhood located out in the middle of nowhere in North Dakota. Her parents were divorced and she wasn’t in contact with her father. She grew up with the boy next-door, Jake Fare, who was three years older than her. He became like an older brother to her. One day, when Mona was ten, Jake disappeared. He was missing for three days. Police started to speculate that he had gone into the woods and gotten lost. One night, Mona decided to search on her own. She went into the woods huddled in heavy clothes and with a flashlight in her hands. It was on that night she was attacked by a strange, wild-dog. Six years later, Mona started feeling what she would come to know as the change. And then one morning, without warning, Jake Fare showed up at her door, announcing he was taking her to South Browning, Montana.

Other?: Nope not right now .

First Post: Mona sat cross-legged on her bed, the sunlight shining through the windows highlighted her bright red hair. Her eyes were closed and there was a slight smile as she strummed the strings of her guitar, playing and singing, “the key to the stars, stab me in my heart, unlock my universe, then blow it apart. Ignite my sun, your kiss the spark, be the light to my dark, key to my heart.” She sighed, sat the guitar beside her, pulled on her snow-cap and tugged on her boots and shrugged on her jacket. When closing her front door the screen slammed behind her. She looked up at the morning sky and breathed out, watching her breath in the air. She walked down to the side walk and shoved her hands in her pockets.

“Mona,” There was a voice beside her and she turned to face her next-door neighbor, Jake. He was dressed for the cold as well and had a blue scarf wrapped around his neck. “Going for a walk?”

“Mm,” She nodded, looking at him.

He shrugged his shoulders, “Ah.”

She blinked a few times, curious as to why he had asked. “What?”

“Well I was about to go for a walk too, where are you going?”

“The woods probably.”

“Then I’ll join you.”

“No,” she told him defiantly.

“Why not?”

“I’m gathering.”

He scrunched up his face. “What?”

She smiled a little. “You know what.”

“Silly song stuff again.” He teased.

She frowned and spun around, stomping away towards the forest she had become so familiar with. “Inspiration you weirdo!”

“Don’t forget tonight!” She heard him shout after her.

She pulled one of her hands out of her pocket and shooed at him over her back. “Yeah, do I ever forget?”
_____________________________________________________________________________

Name: Jake Fare
Age: 19

Appearance: Jake has a body like a jock. Athletic, thin, and tall. When he was in high-school he had all of the coaches pining for him to join their teams. He has wispy blonde hair, that he used to spike a little when he was in high-school but now just kind of lets it fall naturally... though it still can't resist sticking up a little in the front, and dark, minty green eyes. His skin is pretty average in color and he has a couple of freckles across his face.

Wolf Appearance: Jake is pretty much your typical grey wolf, with a lot of white fur and a grey back. He has brown on his muzzle, ears, and in a couple of other places. He's not a particularly large wolf, but is rather muscular in build and has a lot of power in his legs.

Personality: Jake has the perfect "big brother" personality. He's protective, mature, and is a person you could go to for advice or just for a talk. He likes to joke around and pick on his friends, though he never takes it too far and they're mostly lighthearted. Although he's friendly to strangers, it might take him a while to warm up to them. When in his wolf form, Jake tends to be more childish and likes to run around and do silly stunts. He's always considerate of other's and doesn't like it when people feel left out.

History: It was unknown to Jake that his parents were werewolves. They used to live in a pack in South Browning, Montana, but then moved on to South Dakota. He never knew because their life was so normal. He was in middle school, preparing for high school to start. He was excited about joining the newspaper there and putting his photography skills to the test. Then he went through his Moon Age. His parents told him it was a little early, but he had nothing to worry about. But how could he not worry? He was a werewolf! He ran away from home for a few days, when he returned his parents told him they were sending him to South Browning, Montana where there was a pack there they wanted him to join.

There in Montana he spent the next six years of his life. During his Sophomore year, Jake was hit by a car in the school parking lot. He couldn't use his hand for a year. Although it did practically heal, he still experiences a few spasms in his hand from time to time. Due to the accident, he had to take a year off from his position on the school's newspaper staff. After his hand healed he just never returned. He turned his attention to his studies and graduated as the valedictorian of his class.

A few days after his nineteenth birthday, Jake got a call from his parents telling him that the girl he used to play with when he was a child, Mona, was going through her Moon Age and was in need of some help. He rushed to bring her back to Montana with him immediately. He and his parents both put down some money so that she could rent the house out that was next to Jake. And that's how they became neighbors once again.

Other?: He injured the nerves in his hand in tenth grade when he was in a car accident. It's healed and functions normally, but occasionally he'll have spasms in it that last for a minute or a few more. Whenever he's getting on Mona's nerves he's her (affectionate) weirdo XP.

First Post: Jake felt his boots crunch the freshly fallen snow as he moved tree branches out of the way and traversed the woods. He moved a branch of a sapling out of the way and the snow that was barely clinging to the top shook off and landed with a plop on top of his head. He ducked underneath it as it landed and then shook it off like a dog. The sun was setting right behind the hill in the distance and Jake felt a smile spread across his face. "Right, let's get going."

When darkness fell Jake slid on his belly down the hills and slopes, he crashed into a pile of snow at the bottom. Mona stood back from him, shaking her head. He got up on all fours, in his mind he was chuckling. "Give it a try Mona," he said to her, lighthearted.

"And you're supposed to be older than me?" She tilted her head. "I don't think so."

He didn't see it as immature. Mona was just always like that. When anyone tried to have a conversation with her she found it boring. When anyone tried to do anything with her she found it juvenile. The little girl she used to be wasn't such a hard egg to crack. He wondered how she had become so hard and stoic. "You're no fun," he padded over to her and then sat down. "Ouch," he winced and whimpered. "I think I landed on a stick in that last snow pile."

"Stuuuupid."

So begins...
