Tohru Hyuga's Story

Tohru Hyuga

For Tohru Hyuga, feeling accomplished was not a familiar feeling. She held her new headband in her hands. Had she accomplished something when Tohru graduated? This feeling wasn't normal for her but it felt great. Her father had high expectations for her but she never met them before. What about now?

Tohru sighed and lifted up her bangs in front of her mirror. Staring at the terrible Branch mark that separated her from the Main House. She hated that mark and always hid it from everyone. Letting her bangs flow over her forehead, concealing the mark, she put her headband around her neck.
"Tomorrow," She thought, "Tomorrow, I don't need these bangs. I'll be led to a new team with new missions. These will only get in the way."

Walking out of her house, she looked up at the sun. It was so bright and shining today. Tohru looked around and saw families walking together. Children with their parents. She sighed and stuck her hands in her pockets. Tohru kept walking keeping her head down.

Tohru kept her head down not wanting to be seen. She was never good with people. Tohru started walking faster still keeping her head down. The faster she walks, the faster she would get to her destination, the faster she would be alone. She was walking so fast that she didn't even notice the others around her. That was her goal though. But when she walked into a person or two. "S-sorry!" Tohru stuttered. Looking up, she saw the person that she had bumped into. She remembered her as Tsuki, who was in her academy class and a boy. She never saw him before though, she knew him as Mana. Tohru did not know what to do.

Tsuki walked partially annoyed by earlier's scene. She couldn't believe the way the girl acted towards her. To automatically assume she was a bodyguard and making her path for her. Tsuki shook it off and continued to walked through the allies towards the academy. She looked back to see if the girl was following but no sign of her, only Mana... Mana?! what did he want? no one ever comfronted her without doing something mean or terrible this much. This day was definately interesting. Suddenly the boy call out to her. Immediately and through curiousity Tsuki stopped and turned around towards him.

" Hey! Hey! wait up will ya! " was Mana's words. The feeling she took from the words made her feel they were somewhat kind but possibly important. This feeling was only interrupted by a bump. The girl's red eyes went piercing down upon the young Hyuga, Tohru. Almost taking it in hostility but calmed when words were spoken.

"S-sorry!"

The words were soft, scared and kind. Then again Tsuki knew immediately when looking at the Hyuga girl. She was by no means hostile. She always had a gentle and shy attitude. If anything at all during class. It was quite noticable and observative that she was nearly kind to everyone. Yet, that is only Tsuki's assumption towards her.

"Its quite ... alright, Tohru." Tsuki spoke softly before looking towards Mana.

"What did you need?" Tsuki spoke a little more seriously. It was getting to her that the boy was present when the Mizukage came to her and now this. Its obvious that this time, It wasn't a coincidence. She was being followed and the only thing that could be done was to question why. This day was indeed odd, for her to be acknowledged without hostile intent was something new to her and it only began when she joined the academy.

Mana saw that she had heard him and finally decided to stop and wait only seconds before she bumped into a young Hyuga girl who he could almost immediately recognize as the soft spoken Tohru, now that she was stationary his sprinting slowed to a job and then a quick paced walk as the gap between them closed. He could see a look of suspicion playing on her face which wasn't surprising seing as he followed her, and out of a strange situation no less, she wouldn't be much of a ninja if she wasn't even a little bit suspicious. He pushed his mildly curly black hair that had fallen in his face after slowing down and gave them both a toothy smile to appear friendly, hopefully making her less suspicious of him. Just before reaching them he waved at Tohru.

" Oh I didn't need anything, I just wanted to introduce myself to a fellow shinobi is all. I'm Mana, Mana Uchiha " He said as he held out his right gloved hand to her, the Uchiha crest could be seen on the back of it while on the left hand was the symbol of the Hidden Leaf, he preferred to wear it there instead of his forehead. He wondered how she would react to the name Uchiha, though he was not mistreated and shunned like she was as a jinchuriki, he expected her to understand how wrong it was to judge people based on things that did not define their personality.

Tohru Hyuga

Tohru stood there surprised at what had happened. She never meant to bump into Tsuki and was expecting something hostile. Tohru mentally shrugged it off. But that wasn't the only thing that surprised her.

"Its quite ... alright, Tohru." Tsuki had said softly. How did she know who Tohru was? She was in Tsuki's class but she was never noticeable. This feeling felt warm for Tohru.

"T-thank you, Tsuki..." replied Tohru not knowing what else to say. She turned her head to see Mana Uchiha. Although she never met him personally, she heard stories about him from her father.
"What did you need?" asked Tsuki differently from when she talked to Tohru. Mana seemed like he wanted to meet Tsuki urgently. Something important. Tohru felt like a burden that interrupted something. But she did have plans. Tohru shifted her eyes to the right. She could see it, the cemetery and the meadow next to it. It wasn't a long walk right now. But this was the first time something exciting happened to her. She waited to see what would happen.

Breaking up her thoughts, Mana Uchiha caught up to them and before he spoke, he waved to Tohru. What? Tohru never usually got waved to.

" Oh I didn't need anything, I just wanted to introduce myself to a fellow shinobi is all. I'm Mana, Mana Uchiha " Mana said. So it wasn't as important as Tohru thought. She mentally shrugged it off again. Tohru stared at the cemetery. If she went now, she might be back before dinner. But it wasn't like it mattered. Maybe she would get there in time. Tohru shifted her eyes again to watch Tsuki and Mana greet each other. Tsuki interested Tohru. Her father had always insisted to never go by her. Was this breaking his rule? Tsuki didn't seem like a bad person. Tohru usually listened to her father hoping to make him satisfied. But she didn't know what to listen to today.

Tsuki blinked for a moment before replying to Mana. Her red eyes then moved over to Tohru which then brought her to a grin. She was well aware of the history behind the Uchiha but at the same time she never was one to judge upon the history that families may have made. He was not "Sasuke" so therefore shouldn't be looked as him or so what Tsuki believed. As for the Hyuga to her eyes she was nothing more then just a calm and nice girl that Tsuki wanted to get to know in all honesty. Mainly due to how sweet and caring she was to everyone but she felt... like at most times she avoided her, even in the academy which made her kinda shrug the idea off. Not that she wouldn't accept it but it wasn't something that was being pursued. Honestly she really had no idea what it was but this is how it was for her and everyone in the academy excluding those who hated her completely. She gave up asking why and continued on letting life guide her course. Little did she expect this day to come.

"I see ... well I am Tsuki Yuhi . . ."

When she spoke this, she could feel some people turn and look at her as if they saw the demonic chakra soaring out violently. She sighed and directed her attention to the two. She felt the need to make a conversation although afraid. She never did talk among the students since most of the time they avoided her or treated her bad.

"So are you two excited about tomorrow - Seeing as tomorrow will be the day they decide our teams and Jonin?" She honestly had that idea flowing in her mind quite a bit this day. Getting a Jonin who hated her could prove to be a very bad experience for her as well as certain team mates but seeing these two, may show to have a different experience. As these thoughts came about suddenly she remembered hearing about a Village meeting. She had seen the Mizukage and met the Hokage of course but what of the others that follow..?

Tohru Hyuga

Tohru Hyuga looked at Tsuki and then to Mana and then to Tsuki and then to Mana. Thoughts swirled in her head as she recaptured her memories about the two. But there wasn't much to remember. Although, Tohru avoided her on her father's order, she knew that Tsuki was a hard worker but that people were not friendly with her. Mana was a new person towards Tohru yet she had seen him around and heard stories about him. And of course Sasuke and Itachi. Tohru wondered what Mana was like. But she knew that he was also an excellent ninja who graduated earlier than herself and Tsuki. Tohru didn't know much about these two but it wold never hurt to learn.

"I see ... well I am Tsuki Yuhi . . ." Tsuki had said. It was nothing more than just introducing herself but Tohru could sense that people were looking their way. Their looks seemed frightened as if Tsuki was a monster. But Tsuki didn't seem strange to Tohru. Tohru was good at sensing things like reactions and feelings but this large of a feeling was new to her.

Tohru started to think about random things of herself until Tsuki broke up her thoughts.

"So are you two excited about tomorrow - Seeing as tomorrow will be the day they decide our teams and Jonin?" The young Hyuga had also been thinking about this since she would be training with her teammates. Tohru wanted to be treated like she belonged there. She didn't want to feel uncomfortable since she was a little shy.

"W-well, I am really excited about tomorrow but I'm also a bit worried. I mean, I'm afraid I'm going to have bad teammates. Uh... I mean we're going to spend some time with them right? And if someone doesn't really like me I might feel uncomfortable there and I might not do so well. And.. I really want to become my best. But I'm still glad that I can start to become a full ninja tomorrow." Tohru said softly feeling a little amused. But when she realized that she had ran her mouth a little, she looked at the ground feeling a bit embarrassed. She had never talked this much to a new person. Things are really about to change, she thought. She really hoped that she would get teammates that liked her.

"I see ... well I am Tsuki Yuhi . . ."

she responded, she neglected to accept his handshake but he didn't let it bother him any, it must have been strange to be spoken to in a generally friendly manner when the rest of the villagers treated her like scum. He noticed how those who were around looked at her when she said her name and it bugged the hell out of him, the nine tails jinchurki had once came to be revered among the people of the hidden leaf but time allowed the nine tails to revert to it's malicious and destructive nature, even so he felt there was no reason to treat the girl the way she was treated, like she was the monster. Mana simply put his hands up behind his head and smiled.

" Well it's good to finally meet the infamous nine tails Jinchurki " he said in response, hoping the comment wouldn't be met with hostility as he knew it must've been a sensitive subject for her. The moment she mentioned the choosing of cells his grin got a little wider, if that was even possible. He was surprised when the soft spoken Tohru spoke, she usually just remained quite in drifted into the background around peers but it seems being put into cells to become real Hidden Leaf ninja was fresh on her mind as well.

" Of course I'm excited, who ever they put me we're gunna be the best Genin cell for sure! And don't worry about all that Tohru! " he responded with confidence, the girl was so nice and polite who could really dislike her? " I'm sure who ever it is you get teamed up with will love you, and even if they are bade we are all only beginners, as long as we stay alive we'll all be growing stronger together, count on it!" There was no doubt about he was ready to become a ninja at last, ready to become strong and fight for his beloved village and no matter how weak or strong his future teammates would be he looked forward to the future they would all be headed to.

"What about you Tsuki? You ready to become a ninja? "

For all the while Tsuki was feeling comfortable among the two until that point.

" Well it's good to finally meet the infamous nine tails Jinchurki " It was very apparent at this point that many villagers grew silent, turning as if Mana said something forbidden. Tsuki's mind went blank feeling the tension around her. They looked at Tsuki and then to Tohru and Mana. Mainly Mana for saying such a thing without thought.

Finally at the end Tsuki didn't even consider answering or responding to Tohru even if she did nothing hostile. Her facial expression showed disappointment and anger. Within the darkness of her mind she began to think. "First, I am born and all through my life no one treats me well, I have never known why either, nor do i care due to the fact I am still human. Now thinking people were actually coming to befriend me with kindness, only to be revealed that someone tells me I am the Jinchuriki who attacked this village". Tsuki shook her head and looked towards Mana.

"Perhaps another time, but if anything I hope i get with someone who doesn't insult me even if they show acts of kindness!" Tsuki spoke with a bit of disappointment as well as anger. It wasn't that she believed what Mana said but she took the village to heart and refused to think that she was responsible for what tragedies befallen the village. At the end, Tsuki eyes came to be slightly emotionaless speaking under her breath.

"Just like everyone else..." She said. She then turned to Tohru patting her gently on the shoulder before dashing off. Tsuki rushed passed many people who looked at her in fear, anger or any slight bit of curiosity. It only came to be that she finally stopped in front of a pond. She took her katana out and slammed it into the dirt. Tsuki then walked gently towards the calm water and sank her feet in, sitting down on the warm ground. She looked up into the sky wondering if such words could be true, her thoughts made her think it could be a possibility but she shook her head.

"When the time comes...I'll find out the truth myself..." Tsuki spoke quietly to herself.

Tsuki looked at her reflection among her Katana and forced a smile on her face. She couldn't be down after this one comment. Tsuki finally became a Ninja and was bond to get a team herself, even if the village gave her struggle. She only had one goal and that was to make her grandmother proud. Although the smile faded once looking away from the sword, she was still a little better and confident. Her feet slid from the water and stood up, Tsuki's hand gripped the hilt of her blade and looked forward in thought.


The Jonin's arrived about 5 to 10 minutes after the order was given. Megami's hands flung down to her desk as Megami herself began to speak. Her tone serious, her facial expression too. Her hands layed flat on the desk as her eyes looked straight ahead, towards them. The Jonin's could see this was no ordinary mission and felt the importance.

"Listen you two, We are to set off to Konoha immediately. I have a Kage's meeting to attend and I do not wish to be late. Know among this time, I do not wish to be delayed and will not tolerate failure among this mission. Being such I need you two, to keep up with me. Once there you do not have to be with me but stay alert and close. Our village's ties are weakening and there may be a chance that a battle may break out but know we will do everything we can to avoid that if we can - If no other questions are needed then lets move out"

Without another word, the eager Raikage immediately flickered out the two jonin's following and the three made its way towards Konoha. The Jonin's eyes were alert as there minds wondered. They couldn't help but be curious of what the meeting could be about. It wasn't everyday they saw there laidback Kage so worked up. One tried to speak but Megami immediately replied "I will answer nothing to this until i have a little more information". After crossing the land to get to Konoha, they finally arrived.

Megami looked around at the village and smiled at how lively things were. She immediately got recognition at the booth before entering and walked down the streets the Jonin on top of the buildings as if they were waiting for something to attack her. The raikage's deep purple seemed as if she was looking for someone. As it was true, Megami was looking - Looking for Tsuki. She was by no means going to run around the city but she was curious of how she may had grown. After minutes of her eyes scoping out where the Jinchuriki may have been. She could only shrug. Sadly for her it was only minutes from when Tsuki rushed away from Tohru and Mana. Megami only looked over to Mana and Tohru as she went by them.

Tohru Hyuga

Tohru waited in response for the two but she did not expect what came next.
" Well it's good to finally meet the infamous nine tails Jinchurki " Mana said to Tsuki. Jinchurki, the name sounded familiar to Tohru. She supposed that her father had said that word a few times before. Tohru then realized the stares and glares that the group got. It made Tohru feel uncomfortable and she knew that what Mana said wasn't a good thing. So this is what it feels like, she thought, to be despised by everyone. The thought made Tohru mentally shiver and she instantly felt bad for Tsuki.

Tsuki looked disappointed with darkness underneath. Tohru never knew that Tsuki was ever bullied this bad. It must hurt a lot. It made Tohru upset that people were treating her so harshly even if Tohru didn't fully understood what was going on, and without conscious, Tohru clenched her fists together.

"Perhaps another time, but if anything I hope i get with someone who doesn't insult me even if they show acts of kindness!" Tsuki's shout broke Tohru from her thoughts and surprised her. Her tone was angry and is was a bit frightening.

Before Tsuki ran off, she gently patted Torhu's shoulder and Tohru looked up in surprise.

"Tsuki..." Tohru said under her breath. She watched Tsuki dash away quickly before standing there awkwardly with Mana. She did not know what to say to him or if he was feeling bad about Tsuki as was Tohru. She knew that Mana did not mean his comment as a bad thing but he should not have said it. Tohru was about to speak when she noticed a lady walking their way. Someone that she did not know. Was she foreign? These people keep on popping up, thought Tohru.

"M-mana..." Tohru said quietly nodding her head to the newcomer so that he could see her. Who was this foreigner?

Mana Uchiha

"Just like everyone else..." was the last thing she said before she turn and ran off behind a crowd of people and leaved a stunned Mana standing the with his mouth ajar as he looked around at the angry faces of the surrounding villagers who over heard what had just happened. ' there's no way'..' he thought, there was just no way that she didn't know the truth, how could people let a girl go through her childhood hated by her own people without even knowing why? It would seem the whole situation was far more delicate than he thought and now he'd just chased her off after coming all this way to meet her.

" Great, smooth Mana, real smooth " he said to himself with his palm pressed firmly against his face, he began toiling over what he should to rectify the situation so she wouldn't completely hate him..and there was now the possibility of him getting in huge trouble for possibly reveling an important secret, though it didn't seem like she believed him so he just might be able to get out of dodge. In any case she certainly would have found out the truth herself one day, he thought it was a stupid idea to keep something so vital from a person when it has caused them to endure such hardship then again the village counsel never really cared for the individual it would seem. Every decision they made was always fr the prosperity of the Leaf Village so they must have had their reasons.

" but still...that's messed up " he muttered to himself as he clenched his fist, he let his hand fall to his side as he looked up to meet the glaring eyes of the villagers, he always got looks of fear and distrust over the malicious glares they were shooting him now.' This must be what it's like for her ever day ' he thought as he shot them a look just as filled with hate and some of them actually gasped, looked away and even backed away from him, fortunately he didn't actually hate any of them but he just got so disgusted at how adults could treat them that he couldn't help but be angry. He was just about to tell those who remained off but Tohru's voice stopped him as she called his name

" Look, if your about to tell me what a jerk I am don't bother, it was a stupid thing to say I know..I'll just go apologize he said as he looked back in the direction she ran only to see someone who was yet another foreigner to the village, it was made clear by the way she dressed and the darkness of her skin, he saw her look at them as she passed them by and would have liked to inquire about it directly but he had other business which seemed more prudent " hold that thought Tohru " he said as he ran off to follow the both of them, shoving the adults aside and a few other kids his age to the ground to get through to them, he was able to follow her through the crowd of people to a pond were Tsuki sat at it's edge peering at her katana with the stranger kneeling right next to her.

" hey I'm really sorry about what I said back there, I wasn't trying to upset you or anything I was just making a joke..a really bad one " he said with a wry smile as he laughed nervously, he chose to hide the suspicion he had for the stranger for now, he wouldn't want to falsely accuse someone of some wrong doing they haven't and probably won't commit, the look on the woman's face seemed concerned rather than suspicious. He didn't speak to or acknowledge the the oddly dressed stranger that knelt at Tsuki's side, at the moment he only cared to mend a bride that was being burned before it was even built.

Koga sat there eating his ramen with his senses down and beaten. Lately, he has been out there, daydreaming and always bumping into people like Yoru. 'Whats wrong with me!' He sighs disappointed as he ate slowly, but peers towards the stall opening at the new comer.

Green eyes blinked in surprise. It was their sensei Koshikoi, Taijutsu master and a Swordman of the mist. It was quite a surprise to get him as a sensei, seeing how high ranked he was, and Kouga was very happy. Every since he was a child, he took great interest in the 7 men of the mist, the owners of great weapons in the past. To put it simply, Koshikoi was his idol, but he kept that at the down low.

'Hm maybe Sensei doesn't have any missions lately, I mean the village has been rather peaceful.' Koga thought before sitting up to properly greet his leader. Turning the stool towards his own sensei's stool, he curtly nodded showing respect gleaming within his eyes. "Hello Sensei!"


Misaki laid at the roof tops of the village buildings. She was currently asleep and very bored at the moment. There was nothing to do, other then training and she done that all yesterday. Relaxing her body, she focused on the sounds of the surrounding crowd. Rumors hit her ears, secrets and little conversations, but one voice was oddly familiar. Sitting up, Misaki eyed the crowd below her, pin pointing the location of the voice. Her black orbs stopped at an Uchiha boy who was standing near 2 others. Her eyes soften, Mana Uchiha, her distant cousin and an old friend. But that didn't matter now, he probably didn't even remember her.

Shrugging it off, she went on observing the others. As if she was a computer, information of the two genin girls came to mind quickly. The blue hair female was a hyuuga, rank genin. The other female which had black hair was easy to tell. She was Tsuki, the Ninetail holder and the one supposedly hated by all villagers and ninjas alike. But Misaki really didn't care at all of the demon within her, Tsuki was just a genin and a child of the leaf to protect with her own life. She smiles a bit before chuckling. 'Is this some genin party...?' She wonders, swiftly jumping into the crowd without notice.

Slipping past villagers, she neared the group of genin quietly and began to melt into the crowd with ease. Misaki listened into the conversation with slight interest, yet her face held no emotion other then boredom.
