Was sent to live with his grandparents in Vancouver because his homophobic parents caught him with a boy on his swim team.
Though he won't admit it, Elijah Walker is quite the hopeless romantic. He can become quite attached to those he cares about but he'll always respect your privacy and never be the "clingy boyfriend" you see in the movies. He's in love with the idea of falling fast and hard for someone, and often his affection for others can blind his rational thoughts. Because of this, he's easily manipulated but if he realizes what's going on, he'll hate the person who's manipulating him. He hates being toyed with, and because he's so trusting and easy-going, it's one of his main weaknesses.
He's always been academically focused through out his years of schooling. Elijah is naturally competitive, and he'll give his all to whichever cause he devotes himself too. Grades are a huge priority for Elijah, and he tends to get upset if his evaluations are less than satisfactory. He can often lose sight of his values when it comes to his competitiveness, and he's quick to apologize in these situations. He can't stand longstanding feuds, and so despite his pride, he'll often clear the air first just to end things.
He's a big goof ball, and likes to flirt and joke around often. His grandparents used to joke that they were sure sarcasm was Elijah's first language. Sometimes he can go too far with his jokes and not recognize the wrong in them, meaning he often needs reminders. He's a playful guy and can come off childish sometimes, but he believes a dull personality makes for a dull life, and he can't imagine living a life less than exciting.
|Place of origin| Lake Placid, New York
|History| Elijah was born and raised in upstate New York. His father is Jewish, while his mother is of German and Dutch ancestry. His father was a wealthy businessman while his mother was a seamstress. He attended a private school where he was an excellent student as well as a star athlete. Despite this, Elijah wasn't exactly popular and he kept to himself most of the time. His calling was swimming, and he'd regularly participate in swim meets. It was around the time that he turned twelve when he realized he might like guys. He started to take interest in one of his fellow team mates and they became fast friends. His parents were glad to see Elijah had a close friend and the two regularly hung out outside of school.
One evening, Elijah was waiting for his parents after practice. His friend was there too, and just as his parents walked in, they shared a kiss. Elijah didn't see his parents come in, but they were furious and disgusted. Elijah was dragged out of the building and promptly sent to Vancouver to live with his grandparents soon after. He was heartbroken and confused, convinced that he was damaged. His transition to life in Vancouver was rough but luckily his grandparents were accepting of him. He never talked about his sexuality after the incident, and in fact, he tried forcing himself to be strictly straight. It didn't work, and nonetheless, he hasn't discussed it ever since.
Elijah discovered his interest in Drama when he was fifteen. His guidance counsellor suggested he try out for the school play. When Elijah landed the lead, he was hooked. He fell in love with the fact that he could be anyone on stage. Drama became his outlet and he started spending most of his free time in the drama room. He became fast friends with the school's resident drama geeks, and they appreciated his humour and general company.
Throughout high school, he had limited contact with his parents. His father refused to talk to him while his mother would only talk to him twice a month. Elijah struggled to cope with this alienation, but he adjusted to it over time. He enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, and he'd regularly invite them to his plays. Elijah didn't consider majoring in Drama until the week before submissions closed. He applied on a whim and was ecstatic when he found out he got in. He felt uneasy knowing he'd be leaving his grandparents and moving closer to his distant parents, but it was a sacrifice he was willing to make. Despite all the opportunities Vancouver offered, it wasn't New York. Elijah moved back to New York not long after his high school graduation.
