Henri gave an irritated laugh as Eight finally said what had happened. "Are we going to move again?! Well you seem to make it impossible not to, don't you!" Henri stood up and paced the room for a few seconds, and then turned torwards Eight. "How many times have I told you to stay under the radar. You can't just go around killing people, like their ants in your step! Did you even have a reason!?"

Henri didn't even wait for an answer to the question before he walked over to Eight. "Just go up to your room, and stay there for the night," he said. "You are deffinately not going with Nine. I'm sure someone else can help her out, but you've done enough for the night. Nine, you can go to the store, but then come straight back." He paused and then sat back down at his desk. "And take someone, other than Eight, with you."

"Look, there you go again.. keeping me as far away from the others as possible. Haven't you figured it out yet? The only reason I've been doing things like this is because of that fact. I grew up alone. Bullied, bruised, beaten. Those blasted humans did horrifying things to me, Henri! And now, when I finally find people who aren't trying to kill me, I'm told that I must stay away from them! If you allowed me to be with the others, I wouldn't be out alone, killing humans to pass the time! I'd be with friends, doing normal things like a normal person would! But I doubt I'll change your mind, you stubborn old fool." Eight snarled at Henri, flipping him the bird before storming out of the study towards the front porch. Eight didn't leave, he just merely stood there on the porch, pressed against the wall; his fists clenched, his teeth grinding out a subtle song, and his eyes staring blankly at the also blank sky.

Kayla watched Vincent go, slightly torn, she looked at Henri and then out the door her eyes staring through the door as though she could still see Vincent "I won't take him," she said in a quiet voice still not looking at Henri her heart was heavy but she was glad that all was in the open. "May I go?" she asked but before Henri could answer she was moving out of the study. Gently she eased her Sensior to the front of her mind slowly, feeling Henri's strong emotions behind her, his disappointment was tangible but there seemed to also be a slight sense of panic, and confusion that made a raw and uncomfortable undercurrent.
She could feel Vincent somewhere before her his emotions full of anger, betrayal and what she thought might be self loathing. She walked out onto the porch and found him pressed against the wall fists clenched. She tried to sense if there was anything she could do, it seemed he was fighting with himself the blankness of his stare made her think he might be reliving some old nightmare-ish memory. Deciding to leave him be for the moment she joined him on the wall, pressing her back against it and sliding down to sit next to him. She settled her jacket and katana on her lap and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
"Thank you for telling the truth" she said softly, a few moments later.

Eight looked at Nine sitting next to him, then back at the road. His fists began loosening and he felt himself.. being calmed. How could this be...? "..You're welcome. You can probably guess why I lied in the first place, though. That old man makes it impossible for me here.. I do the things I do to spite him, and it only makes things worse. I'm at least glad Henri hasn't kicked me out yet."

Sliding down the wall, Eight sat down next to Nine. He smiled at her, and decided to ask her a question. They had a few minutes before they'd be interrupted by some other person, so he thought talking for as long as they could was a good idea. "..What name did you pick again? I'm terrible with names.. fact that no one ever talks to me doesn't help."

Henri listened as Number Eight blew up in front of him, and waited till he finished. He thought about saying something back, but decided that it didn't change anything. Eight was stubborn and angry at the moment. He could have said many things, but decided against it, and let him run out of the room, his face blazing red. Henri leaned back and watched Nine leave his study as well. He trusted that she wouldn't take him with her. Eight was too independent to actually listen to anything Henri said, so he'd expect to find him come home in the middle of the night, after causing more havoc in the city.

((Short. I don't like playing a parental figure. They annoy me xD))

Kayla did understand why he had lied, the relationship between Vincent and Henri had always been strained and she had a feeling that deep down Vincent had spent so much time on his own fending for himself that having a parental figure suddenly would rub him the wrong way. She wanted to ask what had happened to make him hate Henri so much but she felt that asking might burn the tenuous connection she had made with Vincent.
"Henri Won't kick you out, he understands that we all have our own personalities but he also can see that we are too important to be off on our own," she said, trying to pick her words carefully.
A few moments passed and Vincent slid down the wall to sit next to her.
His next question caught her a bit off guard she wasn't quite expecting the shift in the conversation.
"I'm Kayla, Kayla Nightlocke" said Nine her expression relaxed, masking the turmoil she felt inside.
Kayla shot Vincent a lopsided smile "I'm talking to you... does that make me no one?".
She could feel him calming beside her, the tension slowly leaving his fists, She wasn't using her Sensior ability but it seemed almost to have a placebo affect. Maybe because he thought she was helping him calm down he was able to faster...
Kayla looked into Vincent's face trying to gauge where he was emotionally, she wanted to ask him, why he had done it, why had he gone into that gas station and killed those two people. She couldn't understand his motivation and it bugged her, scratching at the inside of her brain driving her crazy with curiosity.
Taking the risk of bringing the conversation back to the previous topic, she sucked in a breath and asked "Why did you kill those people?..... Was it really just to spite Henri?... I want to understand..." her grey hazel eyes searching his.
Her heart was beating loudly in her chest and she knew, deep in her bones that this question could make or break their relationship, she didn't want to push him away but something equally deep inside her just had to know.

Vincent's good mood was completely shattered by Kayla's most recent question. He didn't become angry again, but the smile that had hung on his face moments before had all but faded. Standing back up, he uttered a single word; "...No." Vincent continued walking.. but strangely, it was towards the interior the house. He never goes in there. But he did, and he even walked up the stairs and into his room like Henri had told him to go. He shut the door behind him, and used his metal manipulation powers to weld the door to the door frame, by using the metal from the door knobs. Falling back onto his bed, Eight drifted off into the twisting tides of dreamland.. for at least as long as the others didn't wake him up.

Kayla sat motionless in stunned silence, he lips pressed together so tightly that they had become a thin white line. Her eyes continued to search the space where only moments earlier Vincent's face had been. At last she turned her head towards the lawn and the street beyond, she was numb. Kayla knew there would be no sense in following him, she had burned whatever connection they had had. Sighing, she stood pushing away the numbness. She decided to sit on the stoop to wait for one of the others to come outside, her ability to seek out social interaction lost with the crushing weight of her conversation with Vincent.

"Who's that chick?"

"Dunno. She's..."

"Don't say it, asshole! She'll hear you!"

"I don't care. She looks like a freak."

Seven looked over at the two men at the back of the bus impassively, knowing all to well who they were talking about. She felt kind of nervous, but that's just normal for any kind of social interaction. She smoothed her hair over, and brushed downher clothes with her hands. She then looked away, and waited to pull the string. How long until they'd arrive at the theatre? She just wanted to watch the movie now.

"She just looked at us."

"I told you not to talk so loud!"

"She's kinda hot, actually."

Seven grinned at this, knowing that she altered their vision of her, and instead of her normal face (which Seven despises), they saw a lusciously beautiful face. She smirked and had to hold in her laugh. She felt better now. A little.

Four sat up. "We should get going. I need to train. And you probably do to." She walked to the edge of the roof and jumped down, landing, like a cat, on her feet. She started walking towards an open field and disappeared, turning invisible.

Kayla stood, Her restless mind driving her to action.
An hour had passed and she had heard no stirring of life from in the house.
She moved towards the car, her mouth set in rigid grimness.
Getting in she dropped her Katana and coat on the passenger seat, started the engine and pulled out of the drive.
Time to get this stupid shopping trip done she thought.
The drive was peaceful and the low murmuring of the indie rock mix Cd that she had made earlier in the week calmed her nerves.
When she pulled into the parking lot of the Krogers supermarket she scanned the area, putting her car under the surveillance cameras. She knew this would do little to discourage the advance of the mogadorians if they found her. Parking she swiftly belted her katana to her waist and thigh settling it into its customary comforting position. She then put on her coat adjusting it so that the sheath was covered, slung her plain purse over her shoulder and exited her car, pressing the lock button and dropping the keys into her purse.
