My defining skills

ϟ Flexibility/Durability|| Yoga and Gymnastics were a hobby of hers that kept her sane, so she's rather flexible and surprisingly durable, despite her thin frame.

ϟ Archery || By far her best skill in the sports department, she is an excellent marksman, and is able to hit her target accurately from up to one mile away in ideal conditions.

ϟ Variations of Light Magic || Her powers are not very strong due to her lack of knowledge on wielding it, but is triggered by fear and when she feels helpless. She has an ability she refers to as 'light aura', which gives her the outlining of bright light and repels dark magic. Her magic can only do good, so it is mostly restricted to protective offense and wards (AKA magical barriers/force fields).

Strengths

♩ Likability || Despite her social awkwardness, she can speak herself, and others out of most situations. She deems herself socially awkward, but is generally a likable person. Her positive thinking and bright personality naturally draws most people to her. She's always smiling and willing to help. Even if she doesn't quite know how to speak to people, she generally fairs well in social groups.

♩ Sports || Despite her frail appearance, she excelled in sports. She could climb the rope in gym class, run the fastest mile for a female, and she played basketball with the boys. She was a jack of all trades when it came to athletics. She only excelled in Marksmanship, but she was proficient at any sport she put her time towards.

♩ Marksmanship || Diana prefers the steady feel of a bow in her hands. Her marksmanship is incredible, and she gained national recognition for it with the offer of entering to compete in the Olympics. She turned the offer down, however, but continues to hone her skills.

Flaws

€ White Knight || Due to her overall kind and caring personality, She has always had a bit of a white knight complex. She puts all others first and always before her, regardless of the cost.

€ Aesthetics || She never learnt how to be aesthetically pleasing. She's a bit of a mess at times. She can't apply her own makeup and she's rather bland when it comes to style. She has the basics of color down, but as for what soothes the eye and which designs are an eye sore, her boat has sank.

€ How to say "no" || She never was good at refusing to help others, so she often gets in over her head and stuck in situations she's not comfortable with. She feels saying no to a request is impolite, even if the request is something somewhat against her moral code. It has to be truly terrible for her willpower to kick in. She never realized that it’s okay to refuse a request as long as you can be polite about it.

"The past never determines where you go, it merely reminds you where you started. Everyone has the choice to become something more."

How I tick

Personality

Awkward, Kind, and Forgiving, Diana was named after Princess Diana. Whatever her parents placed her in, she excelled at. Diana is quite determined and hates losing. She isn't all that interested in her reputation, she's more focused on helping others. She never took the time to learn, so she can't pick out clothes to save her life. Any time that Diana attempts to choose her own outfit she almost always ends up with some atrocity not even a homeless person would wear. She often wears things that don't match - baggy white sweatpants, a lime green t-shirt, a baggy yellow sweatshirt, flip flops, multi-colored socks. She has no sense of style whatsoever.

"Darkness isn't born, it is created. Anyone can escape their inner darkness."

The path that led me here

Diana wound up in an orphanage soon after her arrival in New York, much like her companions. Though that's practically all they have in common as far as upbringing goes. Unlike the others, it didn't take long for Diana to be plucked from the system. Diana barely spent six years as an orphan before she was adopted by the wealthy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Stirling. Mrs. Stirling was determined by several doctors to be infertile, so adoption was their last hope. After just two visits with Diana, the couple found themselves lucky to happen upon what they deemed as 'the perfect little girl'. Diana was smart, quiet, and well-behaved, especially for a six year old child. What seemed like a blessing at first, turned for the worst rather quickly.
The couple were of course looking for a daughter, but their intentions were not to love and cherish her as the child she already was. Mr. Stirling was looking for a child to groom into a champion. Almost immediately after Diana arrived at Stirling Manor, she was directed to her studies. Mr. Stirling spent the next twelve years honing Diana's skills, pushing her to do her best in everything she started. She was never allowed to quit once she began a sport or club. While most would deem this an enormous honor, Diana simply wished to live as a normal high school girl. She wanted what all the other girls had. Due to her extensive study hours, she became quite socially awkward. Though it didn't stop her from racking in the attention of various college recruiters, and other high-up officials. She managed to maintain a 5.0 GPA in high school, thanks to her various AP classes, along becoming and remaining Student Council President for three straight years. She was head captain of the softball, tennis, volleyball, and archery teams. She was a junior captain for the basketball and track teams, and co-captain for the soccer team.

Due to their wealthy status, her parents attempted to set up a marriage between her and several suitors of wealthy families - none of which actually cared for her, but only her achievements. The sons of said families were pushed for months until it became apparent that she was a lost cause, and her parents would move onto the next prospective candidate.

On her eighteenth birthday Diana finally packed her things and moved out the same morning. She isn't proud of it, but she sued her parents for the money that they had been setting aside for years to fund her college. After winning the case, she moved into a small but nice apartment with one bedroom on the outskirts of the city. Her parents still pushed suitors upon her, and the current one is named Darrian. He isn't just going after her for his family - he is also infatuated with her. He has actually made a point in stalking her.

Despite her wish to pack up and abandon the city completely, something urged her to stay. When the letter arrived, she realized that this was what had pushed her to remain in New York. Not really knowing what to expect, she threw a few key things into a duffle bag - clothes, a couple of books, tennis shoes, tossed her violin over her shoulder, and on a split-second whim due to the danger that the meeting may bring to her, she grabbed her bow and some arrows.

Wynter's eyes widened as the blonde female pounced the Ogre. She dug her weapon sloppily into the beast, but it definitely bought her some time. Thanks, I'm glad I'm not doing this alone.. At least she meant it when she said she'd cooperate with us. It brought a smile to the dark haired woman's face, but it was short lived. She adjusted her position, considering her injury. She had to make this next shot count. She couldn't just let Arya die protecting her. Think.. Think.. You're a Stirling. You've bested some of top minds in New York, you can't let an Ogre best you in a game of strategy.

"Hey, ugly! Over here! You don't want them! Everyone knows blondes are more fun!" The blonde further distracted the beast, giving Wynter time to come up with her plan. Though Arya's next words reminded her how fleeting time was, "I lost my knife.." her companion coughed out.

Wynter's eyes darted around the field, before she finally noticed the ring. She wasn't sure which one of the men left it behind, considering her attention had been on Arya's survival, but she quickly ripped part of her shirt, tying the ring to an arrow and shooting it beside Arya, into the tree, "Use that, I need time!" She shouted to her. The dark haired woman drug her useless leg as she adjusted her position, getting a better view of the Ogre. Though she collapsed again, panting hard. Her shin was throbbing with pain, and reasonably starting to swell.

"Oi! Shoot at the back of it's knees! Just do it, trust me! The skin is probably tough so make the shot count!"

She nodded at Klaus as she took out another arrow. She took no time in drawing the string back, taking a moment to steady herself in spite of the pain. She let out one calming breath before releasing the arrow, watching it zoom at the Ogre, it pierced the tough skin digging into the side of the Ogre's knee. Wynter grinned and quickly she began her next shot, "I hope you know what you're doing.." She whispered in terms of Klaus, but had little choice. She decided to trust him with her life, and Arya's.

She shot the second arrow, this time it dug itself into the back of the Ogre's knee. It collapsed in front of Arya, releasing a loud roar into the sky. She'd definitely pissed it off. It turned to face Wynter again, barely a few feet from Arya at this point. She quickly pointed to the ring she'd shot toward her earlier, "Arya! Use it!"

She felt a bit betrayed by Klaus, seeing as he'd hidden Jalen and disappeared. I can't believe you abandoned us like this. She thought angrily, but decided not to hold the grudge at a time like this. She had to do her best. I'm a Stirling... We do our best until our very last breath.. She attempted to scoot herself along the forest floor, away from the Ogre in hopes that it would follow her and give Arya the opening she needed. The arrows slowed the beast down, but they weren't sharp enough to cause any real damage to the monstrosity.

She swallowed hard, but was relieved to see Klaus return. He must have had a plan, because he was running to the group like a man on a mission. She allowed a large grin to sweep across her face, but she literally facepalmed when she noticed he planned to beat the Ogre with a pointy stick. Seriously? A stick? I'll trust his judgement.. She reach for another arrow to assist, but was horrified when she realized she was out of arrows.

I can't die now... what if this is true...? What if we really might find our families here?

Arya could see Klaus getting Jalen out of sight, smiling a bit as the Ogre stormed toward her. She kept shouting, waving her arm, "Ogres are so slow! A grandma could have gotten to me by now!" She taunted, refusing to back down in the face of danger. She had to give the others a chance.

She noticed Wynter was taking another shot, but it missed the ogre. She flinched, seeing as it came dangerously close to her, "Are you crazy!?" She snapped, opening her mouth to continue her pissed rant, but realized there was something connected to the arrow. It was some sort of weapon tied onto the bow. She tried to pull it out of the tree, but eventually resorted to breaking it in half. She felt sore, her entire body ached from her impact with the tree. Though she wasn't sure if anything was broken or not. Though she still couldn't breathe properly. With every breath she took in, Arya felt a sharp, tight pain on the left side of her chest. By now the pain had spread to the upper left side of her back. The shortness of breath was growing irritating, especially after forcing herself up and antagonizing the Ogre.

"Use that, I need time!"

Arya nodded a bit, getting a good hold on the ring, prepared to stab it into the ogre if she must. She kept her eyes on the beast, though she was starting to tremble. The sensation of barely breathing was scaring her, despite her best efforts to remain calm.

"Oi! Shoot at the back of it's knees! Just do it, trust me! The skin is probably tough so make the shot count!"

She shot her head around to locate the owner of the voice, and was relieved as she realized Klaus told Wynter to shoot at the Ogre. Apparently he had a plan. Maybe it would give her a moment to rest if she was lucky. Though she refused to let her hopes get too high. She pushed her hair behind her ear, one hand gently pressed to her chest. During her moment of intermission she noticed Wynter was still dragging her leg along. How hard did that thing hit her? She thought to herself, biting on her bottom lip. I hope she's going to be okay..

Arya heard the grunt of the Ogre as Wynter's next arrow shot into the Ogre, though it wasn't stopping it's rampage. A tree went flying across the field as the beast took it's rage out on the forestry. She leaned up against the tree, able to stand without support, but it was definitely strenuous. Her breathing was shallow and rough, and she looked exhausted. The second arrow caused the Ogre to temporarily collapse to it's knees. Arya's eyes widened at the angry shout the monster released, and a look of horror crossed her features as it located Wynter.

"Arya! Use it!"

Without hesitation Arya jammed the ring into the ogre's wound. The disgusting beast's bloods adorning her hand, the smell alone was enough to make someone sick. She fell backwards, gasping out from the excruciating pain in her chest. The force she used to stab the ogre triggering the sharp pains again. She saw Klaus return to the group, only to climb a tree. Copy cat... She thought rolling her eyes, At least I had a knife.. She thought in a bitter tone. Though she was grateful he was coming to their rescue, she wasn't the confident in the pointy stick he chose to arm himself with.

She looked over to Wynter, whom seemed just as skeptical as she, and she merely laughed to herself bitterly. The ugly beast finally enraged from the pain, lifted his foot, ready to stomp it down upon Arya. Laying back was painful enough, so she closed her eyes tight, preparing herself for what seemed to be certain death, "So my life depends on a conceited prick... Isn't that just my type of luck...?" She muttered to herself, letting out a painful breath, "Here goes hoping for a miracle.."

The darkened abyss subsided and Jalen found himself surrounded by walls, he staggered to stand, pushing up on a knee.
“This movement trick is REALLY getting old!” Jalen mouthed to the sky above, “If this all turns out to be some messed up dream I’m booking myself into an asylum,” Jalen grumbled, shuffling around, trying to scope the area out. “Bushes
 Wall
 Wall
 Dirt
” He kicked angrily in the air scrapping dust up, “Damn this place!” His fisted clenched. Jalen’s head pounded, how long had it been since his last drink he wondered? His powers were flaring up but not the controllable kind.

It’d been an hour. Jalen had no idea how far he’d moved but his head felt as if it was trying to commit seppuku, his hand braced himself against the wall, dragging along it, trudging, his remaining hand plastered to his face.
“Welcome.” Her voice returned.
“I’ve been welcome already, I’d like to leave now.” Jalen winced.
“Oh no, it doesn’t work like that...”
“
As if I care! No exit, I couldn’t give damn. Just a pub will suffice.” He interrupted with growing impatience.
“My my you are feeling unsightly, guess you better pick a grave, only exit is six feet under, ha! Toodles, wicked planning
you know.” The witch’s presence vanished as Jalen smashed his fist against the concrete beside. Slumping down he rubbed his face, the sun was wilting overhead and his brain was a bomb on countdown.

--- Flashback ---

Suddenly Jal wasn’t sitting on dirt up against concrete; he was sitting on asphalt in an open area. There were kids and their voices filled the air. Jalen’s hands were shaking and his chest was burning him, a single stream of tears slipped down his cheek, puddling on the floor and line of blood began to fall from his nostril, staining his cords. Jalen’s eyes widened upon noticing the red, and the kids around the playground soon halted play one by one to peer and crowd Jal.
Jal remembered his vulnerability, and his detest towards the other children and their prying eyes. He stuck his arms out spreading each finger to its limit and screamed. It was a long painful scream, the burning sensation within poured through him and out his mouth and hands. The kids no longer stood surrounding him. Instead, there were infantile brawls, hair pulling, biting, shin kicking, spiting
Jalen squinted in agony. An adult emerged from behind a building, attached to him were three younger kids. The giant toppled.
Rolling from a pocket and chinking towards him was a bottle. The bottle nudged against Jalen’s foot and he lifted it up, examining its contents. Removing the cap allowed a strong bitter smell to vapour. Jalen swallowed mouthfuls of the yellowish brown liquid, shuddering with each gulp.
Lying back with the chaos around actually felt nice, Jal couldn’t recall feeling painful, instead it felt like his surrounding were wrapped in a hazy mist.
It would have been perfect if not for the violent regurgitations that were about to ensue.

--- Flashback End ---

Jalen huddled himself and shuddered. It was truly dark now. Jal began muttering, and pawing at the dirt with a tremor in his hand. A while later the same hand scattered the indentations and started over; it wasn’t the time to commit mistakes. Fifteen minutes passed before the etched marking were complete; the final joining set the whole rune alight with purple flames. Jalen’s incantation stop and he rested back.
“Cursing ones
.self *hic*
with intoxication is NOT
 my *hic*
favourite game,” he slurred head now leaning heavily on his shoulder.
“You think
 some- *hic*
one will find me?” Jal questioned the wavering flame. “No, I don’t *hic* have friends, just a
list to kill,” he answered without any question being asked, “Tomorrow we blow this *hic* place up, I know
 know *hic
a great curse, bigger *hic*
than you, you’ll like.” Jalen’s fingers dug listlessly at the ground and his eyes weighed down on him.

The purple flame began to diminish at first thought, but Jalen’s delusional vision soon realised that the flame had been eating in multiple directions; in fact the entire radius of the enchantment was caving and cracking inwards. Before he could piece together the workings of the dimension he was falling, the cracked ground gave way to his weight and he shifted through the dark abyss like before.

Thump.

Jalen was once again in a shrub, a reoccurring theme Jalen had begun to despise. He spat out a branch, groaning.
“I think I broke something
” he gasped pulling out a creature from beneath him, a badger, “Yep. See. Broken.” He tossed it. There were what looked like light a briar or two, adjacent and Jalen had definitely seen better days, he wheezed and coughed slightly adjusting himself and wiping off his beloved greenery.
With a stagger, entirely dishevelled, Jalen entered camp.

“Hey guys
”

She winced as Arya drove the ring into the ogre, but let out a sigh of relief. She leaned back afterwards, letting herself rest against the tree nearby. The throbbing pain in her shin was growing worse, and to top it off she was losing feeling in the lower part of her leg. She nearly closed her eyes, until she caught a glimpse of the beast's colossal foot towering over Arya's head. It's going to kill her! Wynter thought panicked. She shot up, her injury slipping her mind entirely. Though with her first step, she let out a howl of pain as she crumbled to the ground. She grasped at her leg, curling up. She was angry and pained at the same time.

She pushed herself up with her elbows in order to spectate from afar, considering she was practically disabled. Her eyes darted around the trees, trying to relocate Klaus, hoping he had a plan to save Arya from her impending doom. She felt her heart racing, a feeling of betrayal overwhelming her thoughts. Remember what father always said.. When faith is lost, when honor dies, the man is dead. I can't lose hope. I've got to believe in Klaus.. I can't save Arya, and if Klaus abandoned us, we're all dead.. I refuse to give up on him before he's been given a chance. She'd focused her thoughts, refusing to submit to negativity. She wasn't going to lie down and accept the hand she was given, it wasn't in her nature to compromise. She was raised better than that.

Thankfully her hopes were apparently well invested, she looked up just in the nick of time to catch a breathtaking scene. Wynter had an overjoyed grin upon her face as she witnessed Klaus forcing his makeshift weapon inside of the Ogre's skull. Please be dead.. She forced herself upward, not allowing her weight on the other leg. She dusted herself off, laughing under her breath as she ushered for Arya to make some distance between her and the Ogre's corpse. I knew we could trust him.. She thought with a smile in Klaus's direction.

"I thought that thing was going to eat me right then and there."

Then she dropped her head, shaking it after his statement. Maybe not so much though.. She thought, slightly amused despite her mixed feelings. What if it didn't work? Arya would have been dead.. Possibly all of us.. She dropped the thoughts, content with the fact that there were no human casualties, "Are you alright, Klaus? Thanks for saving us.." She smiled brightly, happy to be alive to be quite frank about the matter, but she felt a lingering irritation in her stomach. It was annoying being unable to hold her own. Though it wasn't his fault... It's mine.. "I'd offer you a hand, but that'd be a bit impossible at the moment."

Her distracting thoughts were subsided when she noticed a familiar figure approaching them. What is he doing up? He'll make his wounds worse! Her breath hitched in her chest as she disregarded her own well-being. Once again Wynter rose quickly, worried about Jalen, so much so that she'd once again failed to consider her fractured shin. His condition was unstable and he'd lost quite a bit of blood prior to the group being reunited with him. He by far required immediate attention. Working his wounds was far from productive as far as healing went. He'd just lose more blood. She however, once again underestimating her own wounds, crumbled to ground. She let out an fuming sigh. She was getting sick of being unable to help the others. She thought when she realized her skill as a marksman, that she'd never be useless, ever again. In this place she felt like the helpless little girl that the Stirlings adopted so long ago.. It was disheartening to say the least.

“Hey guys
”

"Are you crazy? You're still bleeding!" She snapped at him, but not in anger, her voice was overflowing with consideration. She was wincing, holding in her reaction to the third fall on her injured shin in the past hour. "This really friggin sucks.." She mumbled, sitting up, hissing as she pulled up the leg of her pants, "That isn't pretty." She muttered, eyeing her fractured wound, "I don't think I can walk unless someone can do me a favor and find me a nature crutch of some sort.." she laughed in a cheerful manner. She was still hurt, but her mood shifted dramatically once she was certain the other three were fine. Wynter was quite an odd one. Though there was more going on in her thoughts than she let the others see. Maybe I should tell them my real name.. I rudely gave Jalen the wrong one.. but that was before I knew I could entirely trust them..

Arya was huffing against the tree as she noticed Wynter's panic, the brunette's attempt to aid her, and the painful crash that followed, " Just stay back! You're too hurt! " She snapped, rage filling her sapphire eyes. She obviously meant business, because her typically indifferent or sarcastic nature grew quite serious as she realized the severity of Wynter's injury. It was too dangerous to let her wounded companions attempt to assist her.

Arya noticed Wynter's gaze darted around the trees, causing her to glance up as well. What is she looking for? She thought to herself baffled. Then she rolled her eyees. She finally realized that Wynter was trying to find Klaus. She is really assuming that he has a plan to save me? That's a joke.. He's probably up there hiding! She thought bitterly, one arm clenching at her left rib. She didn't trust him, regardless of Wynter's efforts to unite the group as a collaborative team. She let out a soft breath before glaring up at the ogre, " Come on, do it! Don't make a girl wait all day you big oaf! " She shouted at the beast fearlessly.

" You know you picked the wrong day .... I just found out... I am engaged.... set me off on edge today.... killing every last one of you things here... "

Arya really didn't catch the entire speech, considering the space between her place on the ground and Klaus's perch in the tree. She wanted to laugh, but her torso hurt too much to indulge in the activity. She simply scoffed, chewing on the inside of her cheek to keep her thoughts in check. He really thinks he could handle these creatures alone? Just how egotistical can one human be? She thought mockingly.

Though she almost choked on her thoughts as her mouth fell agape. Just as she'd mentally mocked him, the ogre collapsed forward, missing her by a comfortable distance, and all thanks to Klaus. She watched him fall out of the tree and into the foliage below. She stood slowly, limping towards Wynter. She wanted to verify that the other girl would be alright.

" I thought that thing was going to eat me right then and there. "

Something about his reaction caused her eyebrow to raise, but she decided not to press the matter. She was alive, that's all that mattered in her mind, well, aside from returning to New York. I miss the bustling streets and the smog at this point.. She thought to herself, beginning to feel a bit homesick. Wynter seemed just as affected by his statement, if not more, causing Arya's features to adorn a self-congratulatory smirk. I knew the entire time that he didn't truly have a plan.. He was simply improvising the entire time. It was luck and nothing more than that. Though deep down she was impressed, she could still remember the shock as the beast fell dead before her, not to mention the odd sensation she felt afterwards. She couldn't quite place it.. though it gave her the shivers.

" Are you alright, Klaus? Thanks for saving us.. I'd offer you a hand, but that'd be a bit impossible at the moment. "

" He's possibly the most alright person out of the four of us as the situation sits. " Arya replied matter-of-factly, though her attention swayed from Klaus to Wynter and Jalen. The dark haired male had definitely seen better days, he was wobbly to say the least as he approached the trio, causing her blue eyes to narrow.

“Hey guys
”

"Are you crazy? You're still bleeding!" Wynter snapped at him, and Arya noted that Wynter crumbled to ground a third time. She's broke something.. she can't travel properly like that.. We'll have to do something about that.. She also noted that it was beginning to irritate Wynter more than it did the group, judging by the fuming sigh the brunette female released.

Suddenly Arya's blue eyes glaring at Jalen icily. She approached intimidatingly, like a woman on a mission. Both of her petite hands were firmly placed on each of her hips until she was within touching distance, "Just who do you think you are? Jesus? You can't walk around like a miracle worker with injuries like yours! They won't just magically disappear!" She scolded him. She was worried about his safety, but she was coming off more rigid than anything. She proceeded with grabbing his shoulders gently, ready to drag him back to his spot at the camp if she must. We want you to heal up properly, idiot.. She thought to herself, and just about the same time she was blinded by a bright light that emitted between them. She instinctively shielded her eyes with her other arm, stumbling back a couple inches away from the dark haired male. What the hell was that!? She thought surprised, giving him a skeptical look, wondering if he was to blame for the odd occurrence.

Though she didn't realize it, she'd somehow sealed up his injuries, not even a scar stood in their place. The pain was sharp while the light glew, but as sudden as it was gone, so was the physical pain the conflicted male was experiencing. The blonde still stood, completely unaware of the fact she'd literally just healed the man by a simple touch, "What did you just do?" She asked suspicious, eyeing Jalen carefully, "Was that some sort of magic trick or something?"

Image It took Klaus a while to take in the fact that all this is more real than he let on. The truth of it was right before him. Sure he was thanked for what he did, but something about all this, just wasn't right at all. Or maybe it was right, maybe that's why it felt so wrong. And looking back at what the others were doing, the sight of Jalen and Arya, it surprised him. But it also made him crack up laughing.

"This is just brilliant. Better than T.V" He used the ogre's face to support himself getting up. Nothing ever made him feel his age before until now. He felt sore in places he never knew that he could feel sore in. Closing his eyes he leaned back against the head of the dead ogre. He might have not been in as much of pain as the others, but he could guess from what he did feel that, he was more and likely not going to make it any farther if he keeps moving like he had just did. "Perhaps loves, we should get a move on. I don't want to run into another Ogre, or worse..Shall we?" He pointed his hand in the direction of an open trail, that led up hill of the forest.

He didn't notice it before until the Lady in red headed towards it. Plus it wouldn't hurt to find out to whom she was. But maybe another day, because if she turned out to be worse than what has happened, he preferred to be at top shape. But what was a woman like her doing in the woods in the first place, and not bother to help those who needed it. Then there was the thing that she was wearing. Klaus hasn't seen clothes like that sense...well never other than fairytale books. In a way, she sort of reminded him of Red Riding hood.

Throwing his weight of the dead ogre he looked over at Jalen. "You're not going to attract more danger are you?" He cracked a smile and started to walk off towards the hill, no way in hell was he going to wait on them, who knows what will happen by the time the girls decide to go or not.

Just wanting to get out of this place. He knew that deep down, something was trying to break free. And every second that he spent here, was another second that he might crack. His hands felt weird and his body felt as if there was a heavy dark cloud, trying to pull over him. Like arms trying to grab him and not let him free, no matter how much he pulls and fights, there just keeps getting hands added on and the power of the pull keeps dragging him back. That or he was just over thinking the situation. Either way, he felt....so strange.

Intoxication masked from Jalen his wounds, even as his clothes darkened. It seemed someone else saw though.
“Are you crazy? You’re still bleeding!” Jalen looked down, noticing several reopened wounds among a few others. "This really friggin’ sucks
" His head followed the voice to its owner. Jalen knew the girl, Wynter, she was laying propped on the floor, Good for her Jalen thought, I could do with taking a load off. Jal stumbled forward further however has he passed, Wynter spoke.
“I don't think I can walk unless someone can do me a favour and find me a nature crutch of some sort..." Peering closer, it was evident Wynter wasn’t lying down recreationally, bits of her leg stuck out of itself, it looked messy. Jalen coughed, lifting his hand to cover. Red flakes had splattered onto his sleeve. Jalen wanted to collapse and laugh, it would hurt but he wanted and fully intended to. His plans were however interrupted.
"Just who do you think you are? Jesus? You can't walk around like a miracle worker with injuries like yours! They won't just magically disappear!" Arya stormed towards him and clamped his before he could bat her back. Being forced forward irked Jalen but didn’t have the strength to resist. That was until

Zam

A brilliance of light dazzled the retinas of all onlookers including Jalen, his arm pulled away from Ayra to shield himself. When focus returned Arya looked back in utter shock.
"What did you just do? Was that some sort of magic trick or something?” It took a moment for Jalen to register what the surprise and interrogation meant, Jalen was already standing straight assessing the situation around him, noticing the fallen orge that Klaus had perched upon, and nodding with the corners of his lower lip pinched bemusedly.
“I’m
 fine
” Jal checked over himself perplexed, twisting his waist to and fro to catch glimpses of his back and front. “But this handy work isn’t me,” Jal confessed and he raised his hand springing forth a dark purple tinted light, “THIS, is my trick, no good.” The flame on his hand started spinning around and up his arm, then down again. “I may even demonstrate one day its purpose, but it doesn’t heal; must be something wrong with you.”

An irritating voice chimed in to the discussion,
"Perhaps loves, we should get a move on. I don't want to run into another Ogre, or worse
Shall we?" Klaus motioned towards the forest. Jalen shot Klaus two beady-eyes; Jalen had had enough of walking, ordeals and imperatives, his limit had been reached and he intended to quit while he was ahead.
"You're not going to attract more danger are you?" Klaus continued, apparently amused by the dynamics between them.
“I hope that orge wakes from death and bites you.” Jalen said recollecting recent events, specifically those involving Klaus and being treated like ragdoll or cabbage patch kid. “In fact
” Jal sent out a little wisp of black, “Hold onto to this for me.” A corner of his mouth rose hoping the magic would embitter Klaus for a while.

“Why are we moving? What’s the point?” Jal argued, uninterested in some grand scheme, “Your parents, my parents, screw them.” Jal moved away from Arya and towards Wynter, crouching down upon approach.
“See for yourself,” Jal began, “All fine. But you aren’t my keeper. Now
 I can splint this
” He tapped on her shin causing her a considerable degree of pain, “
for you, but I want a word in return.” The overcast above suddenly gave up, and drops started blanketing the group. He glanced over his shoulder at Klaus, “Fine. I’ll move to shelter.”
Jal started making his was to the edge of the forest but paused shy of the first tree with leaves crunching underfoot; he let out his breath and his eye twinged. Facing about, Jalen returned to Wynter.
“One time offer. Get on.”

She calmed down when she realized her shout had triggered something in Arya. For some reason the blonde began involving herself, and concern bled from the other woman's voice as well. Arya was much angrier about it than she'd of been, but she at least was showing interest in the group. Diana couldn't argue with her on this. Regardless of how Arya chose to execute it, at least she was showing sympathy for the others around her.

"Just who do you think you are? Jesus? You can't walk around like a miracle worker with injuries like yours! They won't just magically disappear!"

Then the sudden flash of light caused her to scoot away startled. Though when it died down, when the brightness dimmed, Jalen was no longer bleeding, the blood had disappeared entirely. She just stared blankly, and before she could stop herself, she let the words blurt out, "Apparently they do.." She breathed out, laughing in disbelief, "Which one of you did that?" she asked, eyes switching between Jalen and Arya curiously. She knew that now wasn't the time, but if magic truly existed.. it definitely was a mood brightener. They'd just survived an ogre attack, a little good magic definitely gave her some hope. Maybe they could survive this after all. She was only reminded however that she was still hurt, unable to walk.

“I’m
 fine
”

"This is just brilliant. Better than T.V"

Diana's eyes widened when Jalen decided to put his own skills on display, " It's not the time to encourage them, Klaus.. Regardless of how tempting." she bit back a laugh, trying to be the serious one of the group, but she was just as lost and confused as the rest, "Is this what the letters meant by gifts..?" She asked, really to no one in particular. She was amazed and frightened at the same time. What kind of powers would she have? Would she accidentally hurt someone? Something about Jalen's powers unnerved her. Well, almost everything about Jalen and Klaus made her uneasy, that's why she'd given them a false name to begin with.. and now she had to confess that she lied about who she truly is. It was going to be fantastic, no one would trust her now that she's already lied to them.

“But this handy work isn’t me, I may even demonstrate one day its purpose, but it doesn’t heal; must be something wrong with you.”

I think I'm fine.. I think we'll all be better for it if you don't substantiate your abilities. The small power strut was enough for my tastes.. She licked her lips nervously, looking to each of the group for their responses. This was far more than a drug craze. The drugs would have been out of their systems by now.. This was real, in the most unreal of ways.

" I agree with Klaus, we have to get out of here, this place is far too dangerous to be caught in the open. " She'd of gotten up to follow, but there was the small matter of her shin. I wouldn't make ten feet like this.. I guess it's easy to forget the cripple once she's served her purpose.. Then it struck her. What would happen if she became injured? Would her so called 'family', their suitors, would any of them still care about her? Were they missing her, or the attention right now?

"You're not going to attract more danger are you?"

“I hope that orge wakes from death and bites you. Why are we moving? What’s the point?”

"That's quite enough, you don't have to like each other, but standing around arguing isn't going to accomplish much! Arya hit hard against that tree if no one else noticed, in a few hours I doubt she'll be conscious. She needs rest, honestly she has less business walking than I do. Three of us are injured and Arya just saved one of you a lot of pain, somehow.. If we can't work together, then we can split up at the first town we see. Until then, make a darn truce!" The brunette snapped at the rivaling males.

Jal argued, uninterested in some grand scheme, “Your parents, my parents, screw them.” Jal moved away from Arya and towards Wynter, crouching down upon approach.

"I don't care if we find our parents at this point, but we all came here for the same reasons; answers. I expect to get some." She let out an annoyed huff, before she forced herself to remain quiet. Even when Jalen was intentionally making a point to cause her discomfort. She just bit down on her tongue, refusing to react to his touch aside from the initial tensing of her muscles. She couldn't control her instincts, but she could however, deny him the privileged of drawing any further satisfaction from her situation. She took a few seconds to mull over his offer before nodding slowly, "It's a date." she muttered with a spirited look in her eyes. She was clearly angered by him, but remained far less obvious about it compared to the other two. The rain made matters worse, causing the brunette to frown up at the sky, though on the bright side it felt good against her injured leg.

“Fine. I’ll move to shelter.” “One time offer. Get on.”

"Thank you." She replied exhausted, deciding to leave everything aside from her bow. She forced herself onto her feet. She would hop the journey as far as it took her if she must. Though just as she was about to follow Klaus, Jalen offered to carry her? She looked at him skeptically, waiting a few moments before accepting.

-Time Skip-

It took them nearly two hours, but they arrived at a small village ahead of them. It was almost sundown, but they made it. Diana almost verbally expressed her joy, though something was horribly wrong. Corsets and pickaxes.. She could even hear a blacksmith hammering away at metal in the distance. There was a marketer arguing with a customer, and horses? Was this some sort of Amish country? She decided to remain quiet, until an elderly couple approached the group, noticing the pale Arya barely trudging beside of Klaus and Jalen. She looked half dead already, Diana nearly forgot Arya had been injured due to her constant bickering and complaining the entire walk. She doesn't look good..

"Oh goodness, were you the ones who fought that vicious Ogre that has been terrorizing the town? Come with us, please stay the night in our home. That blasted creature has destroyed my husband's crops for weeks.. Please rest and have dinner with us.." The old woman began, until her eyes landed on Diana, then she squealed, "Oh my, John dear, they're both hurt, let's show these poor lad's to our home. I bet they've been worried sick about their ladies." The old woman instantly assumed they were all romantically involved, though she did have the couple part right. Each of them were engaged, just lacking the romantic spark.

"We have no where else to go.. we should take them up on their offer.." Then the old man ran to his small home, returning as quick as his frail legs could, "Here use this to support yourself. It was mine shortly after the first Ogre war. Did a number on my back, those ogre's did." he offered her what seemed to be a wooden crutch, and she smiled in gratitude. Diana slid from Jalen, accepting the offered support from the man.

"Thank you, we'd love to see your lovely home." She smiled, before the couple looked to their clothes, baffled. They looked at the group, "Where'd you get clothes like that? Shouldn't you ladies cover up? What would your mother's say?" The man asked, and before anyone could answer, Diana shook her head, "I'm a bit of a failed tailor." Something was weird.. Why did the couple not recognize jeans and shorts? She followed them, Arya close behind. The rain wasn't helping the blonde's condition, and it was made all too clear when she suddenly collapsed into the mud behind Diana.

- End time skip -

Diana sat in a chair, waiting for Arya to wake up, they were given two bedrooms, one for the boys and one for the girls, considering no one wore a wedding ring. Nearby villagers helped the group get the girl inside, but the local doctor said he couldn't help her condition. It had to fix itself, or she would not recover at all. Diana yelled at the man, asking him how he was a doctor if he couldn't help her, and it all led to her sitting, waiting. She wasn't even sure if the two men were even still present in the room.

"She's lying there because I was stupid. This is my fault. If I wouldn't have attacked it so quickly... she'd be awake.. walking.." She gripped at the chair, still in her soaked clothes. She'd of gotten up and taken her anger out hunting if she could.. but life found irony in her being stuck staring at the unconscious girl with no outlet. Though she refused to cry. She only cried once in her life since she'd been adopted.

Arya trudged the entire way, trying to conceal the pain she felt in her chest. She didn't want to make a big fuss about it, Wynter would spend the entire time worrying about it and the trip would be a thousand times more dreadful. Though with each step the tension in her chest tightened. It felt like someone was making a rubber band ball around her left lung. Though when the village came into sight, an exhausted smile crossed her face.

"Oh goodness, were you the ones who fought that vicious Ogre that has been terrorizing the town? Come with us, please stay the night in our home. That blasted creature has destroyed my husband's crops for weeks.. Please rest and have dinner with us.. "Oh my, John dear, they're both hurt, let's show these poor lad's to our home. I bet they've been worried sick about their ladies."

News sure travels fast around here... Though she was about to drop her concerns, but the couple mentioned housing the four strangers. She quirked a suspicious eyebrow at the couple, wondering how they could welcome complete strangers in their home, especially strangers that'd bested that horrible beast. She almost wanted to ask how they knew, but once she caught her reflection in a puddle, she assumed it was a lucky guess. The group looked as if they'd been to hell and back, she could have come to the same deduction, "We're not their ladies.." She stubbornly interrupted as she weakly wiped her forehead. A fever was setting in, and she felt like dying. What I wouldn't give for some painkillers right about now..

"We have no where else to go.. we should take them up on their offer.."

Wynter's words made sense, but she really trust spending the night in a creepily cheerful couple's home. What if they were cannibals or something? This is how horror movies begin.. Though she jumped from her thoughts as the old man surprised her, she didn't realize he'd left the group, so when he returned he gave her a bit of a fright. Definitely a horror movie.. She was too focused on finding somewhere to rest her head.

"Here use this to support yourself. It was mine shortly after the first Ogre war. Did a number on my back, those ogre's did."

Ogre war? What the hell is this man talking about? Wouldn't we of heard of such a thing? If Ogre's existed it would have been all over the news.. This man has lost his mind.. Arya thought, smiling to the couple, but rolling her eyes the first time she caught their attention off of the group.

"Thank you, we'd love to see your lovely home."

It was the last thing Arya remembered hearing. Her vision started to blur. People became shapes, shapes became colors, and before she knew it she found herself falling. She didn't have the strength to pick herself up anymore, she was much too exhausted. She reach for Klaus's arm to stabilize herself, but missed the fabric of his shirt by several inches. I'm... not okay.. Then it was lights out for Arya. Completely unconscious as she hit the muddy ground, the raindrops falling down. She wasn't used to being injured. She didn't have a high tolerance for pain like Wynter. As she laid in the bed, her breathing harsh, but incredibly shallow, her childhood nightmare paid her a visit.

--- Dream ---

She was in a well furnished nursery, and there was a baby crying inside. Every time she grew closer, some crystal unicorn wind chime like device over the baby's crib caught her attention. It always felt like she'd seen it before. The room was extravagant, especially for a small baby's room. She walked over to the crib, looking down upon the baby. This was the part where she'd always wake up. Though as she grew closer, the dream didn't end. She touched the crib, leaning over to see the child, but the blanket caught her attention.. it had her name on it.. Her mouth dropped open in surprise, and she stumbled backward, both hands clasped over her mouth. Was this supposed to be her room? How could she even remember it? This had to just be her mind playing tricks on her. She was a newborn when she was brought to the orphanage. There was no way her mind could remember something like this.. A thousand thoughts rushed to her head I have to be dreaming.. She thought to herself. Though she couldn't remember why she'd fallen asleep. This is ridiculous.. I need to wake up.. I'm not sure why.. but I have to.. She was growing irritated with herself, trying her best to escape this nightmare. She ran out of the room, but the hallway never seemed to end. What the hell? Why can't I get to a door?

Klaus thought it would be best not to say anything at all, he would simply just listen and watch. Plus he was extremely too tired to even really say anything at all. Instead he just followed behind Ayra as everything was being done. She looked terrible and Klaus had a feeling that she would cave in adventually. In fact they all seemed to be that way, and from the looks of the ones who were helping them, they could tell right away.

"We're not their ladies.." Ayra's words made Klaus smirk, he wouldn't help but find what she had said amusing to him. Her wiping her forehead made him noticed of how pale she had suddenly gotten. And without thinking, he took a slight step closer to her as they walked.

Wynter took her time in speaking to the others and when they mentioned the Ogre war, he had got him thinking. He had already knew that they were obviously not in NY or any part of the US. So with this sort of talk it had got him thinking they maybe they were on some sort of Island. That was only meant for the government to know. But that didn't explain why they dressed so differently, maybe a tribe thing.

His mind was lost in thought as he followed beside Ayra, it wasn't then until he realized that she had fallen to the ground and passed out. "..Damn.." He mumbled to himself so the others wouldn't hear. The whole reason for him being close is so he would catch her when it did happen.

Without saying a word, he picked her up of the ground and held her in a Princess style. The elder woman stared up at him in a daze of some sort as if she was seeing something. The elder man kept asking if she was ok.

"Here use this bed." He said pushing back the covers for Klaus.

The moment he was about to bend over, he fell to his knees in pain. Dropping her, still in his arms onto the bed, Lightly shoving his head into Ayra's stomach as his knees hit the ground of the floor. This shifting of his ribs felt as if someone had shoved a knife into his lungs, twisting it around and around, you could hear a bone lightly grind inside him, wanting to snap apart, but didn't. The pain rushed throughout his body and he couldn't help but tighten his grip that he held on Arya. He held in the force of a yell, and with his clenched teeth it came out as a grunt of pain. He could feel the blood draining from his face, and couldn't bring himself to move.

The Elder woman cover her mouth in panic, trying not to yell as the elder man looked at the boy in confusion. "Boy what are you doing? Can't this wait until tonight?" From that you could tell the old man's mind was in the gutter.

Slipping one arm out from under Ayra's knees, his other arm was stuck under her shoulders. He twisted his body so he could sit on the ground and held his rib cage. "..Dammit to hell..." A slight flicker in his eyes changed color for just an instant, like within a blink of an eye it changed back to normal. The pain almost made him blackout, but instead he pushed his face into the side of the bed and stopped moving altogether.

Trying to distract his mind from the pain that he felt, his grip on Ayra was still holding onto her shoulder, but not tight enough to hurt her, it was as if his hand was locked there. And everything around him froze in time.

Image

-Time Freeze-
"Heh heh he, Poor Klaus has lost his touch. What is wrong me boy, are you hurt? Do you want Daaaa-Teee(daddy) To make you feel all better?" The voice sounded like it was in a distance.

The sight of an old ballroom of some sort, started to come to vision. The room was round and a bit dark. The floor shined so much, it was like you were standing on a black sea. It reflected the ceiling that held a shandalar with red fabric. There was also two staircases going along each sides of the rounded rooms walls. Everything was so open, it felt like you were being sucked in almost. And at the top of the staircase stood a figure. It was hard to tell what this person looked like, he stood in the shadows.

"Excuse me?" Shifting his weight he noticed there was no more pain in his ribs. Touching them, he felt a bit shocked.

"Yes yes, you feel no pain, get over it for a second. I brought you here for a reason, boy. Now listen up." The man's voice became more clearer, but even so he sounded a bit like a snake or a rat, maybe even a lizard?

Klaus stood there listening to this,...Man. He was telling him about what Klaus is capable of doing, it's just a matter of if he could do it. Then he explained where they where and why. It was something that felt like it went on for hours, but only happened in minutes. But there was also another problem....

"You see me boy, Just like me, you and I are more alike than you think. Sure it was rude of me to send you off in some far away land, making you think that you are a good for nothing washed up child. But you're not." The man slowly came down the staircase that was farthest away from Klaus, talking as he waved his hand about the air, like trying to lighten the mood or something.

"What makes you think that I really give a damn about anything you have just told me?" His jaw tightened in anger as long did his fists.

The man laughed with joy amused by this. "Hahaha!! You see, just look at you now, already changing." He pointed at the shining floor that showed their reflection.

Of course he couldn't help but look down. His eyes were gold and in the spot where it should be white was pitch black, only making the gold reflect brighter. And the skin on his eyelids even had became darker. Before he could even let himself freak out he was already trying to rub his eyes, causing himself to fall backwards onto the floor, from slipping.

The man laughed once again and this time, he was face to face with Klaus, crouched down holding up a dagger. You see this dagger me boy? This belongs to you, make sure you let, no one. And I do mean No One, see t, find it, or have it. Or whom even holds this dagger in their hand, holds your soul till the end. Meaning they will make you yelled before them, become their dog, so long as they have it. And one more thing,...Son, you'll always be alone, even when you're not. The darkness is your power, madness is your strength and love will forever be your weakness." With that, he stabbed Klaus in the chest, leaving the dagger there. The room before him washed over him.
-Unfreeze-

When he came to, he pushed himself back from the bed, letting go of Ayra, taking in deep gasping breaths. He couldn't focus his breathing, he was still acting as if the dagger was buried inside his chest. There was no control over him in this moment. He pushed himself back into the wall, struggling to breathe. The dagger might not have been there, but it still felt like it was. He tried breathing in through his nose, but his air was coming in too fast for such little air to come in through the nose. He couldn't help but try to focus himself before his heart exploded.

The journey wasn’t as arduous as Jalen had expected it to be; Arya had soldiered on and Wynter had kept relatively silent, however Jalen was acutely aware of the negativity surrounding, and them spoke to the contrary. Their aura’s nourished Jalen, sustaining his strength, and fending off fatigue.

The group emerged from the forest only to be greeted by the queerest of villages,
Definitely third world, Jal grimaced. He lowered Wynter down and circled his shoulders, “Ah
” It was relief whilst being already quite relieved. The backward buildings had quite the bustle about it but the party had its inquisitions quashed when a couple approached.

"Oh goodness, were you the ones who fought that vicious Ogre that has been terrorizing the town? Come with us; please stay the night in our home. That blasted creature has destroyed my husband's crops for weeks... Please rest and have dinner with us
" Jalen held back the urge to gag, their nicety held a little too much sugar for his liking. Their warm glowing eyes and forward attitudes put Jalen on edge and he suddenly felt stiff.

"Oh my, John dear, they're both hurt, let's show these poor lad's to our home. I bet they've been worried sick about their ladies." The old woman exclaimed, much to Klaus’s amusement Jalen could see.
"We're not their ladies.." Arya protested, it fell however on deaf ears and Jalen sure did think they looked pretty cosy.

"We have no where else to go... we should take them up on their offer.." Wynter turned to reason. Jalen’s face contorted, he was completely uninterested in their homely offer, the others be damned. It made Jal feel further uneasy when the old man relayed himself to a building, returning with a weathered looking crutch that had seen better days. The conversation that ensued after just switched off Jal, Ogre wars can bite it

Jalen caught Arya’s failing aura and watched on as she fell, a corner of his mouth twitching up as Klaus failed to properly catch her. The two became ever more interesting as Jal could feel Klaus’s excruciating pain,
“I’m definitely going to have issues sleeping tonight
” Jalen mumbled, receiving an immense amount of energy. His head began throbbing. Something unusual occurred though, for a split second the channel between Jal and Klaus’s feelings cut; it was quick but it encouraged Jal to lift his eyelids towards Klaus in time to witness him spring board backwards panting, with sweat forming. The channel between them broke what felt like an emotional flood gate. Jalen’s teeth were clenched and his hands covering his mouth to prevent a roar.

Lacking clarity Jalen forced himself to the wall, backing further from Klaus. He rolled against the wall and vaulted from the glassless window. Vision was hazy and his head pounded rapidly; his first step was staggered and he launched with great speed forward.
There must be a damn pub in this backwater of a hole.

Jalen could almost taste the brew, he banged on the counter.
“Faster!” His patience drew thin. The attendant hurriedly clunked down the rusting tankard, splashing a potion. Jalen stared her down irritated by her non-existent competence before turning to more pressing matters; the tankard.

A forceful wind grappled the Granted Wish and Dagger, causing stools to scrap back, and a great deal of movement from patrons; Jalen ignored quietening tavern, pulling up on his jackets collar against the breeze and banging his tankard against the bar for another.

Once the guilt that tormented Diana began to dwindle, her eyes drifted to Klaus. He seemed to be in a considerable amount of pain. She hadn't even realized it earlier, but it was Klaus that brought Arya inside. For a moment, it almost felt as if she'd teleported inside. Upon entering the room, she couldn't remember how she'd made it from point A to point B. The shock that Arya could die because of her poor judgement was more than a little overwhelming. She'd nearly blacked out in remorse.

"Boy what are you doing? Can't this wait until tonight?"

Diana shook her head at the old man, waving them off, "It's nothing like that!" she insisted. She forced herself out of her seat, despite the old man's protests. She slowly approached Arya and Klaus, crutch still supporting her as she went. The old man and the woman eventually left at Diana's request, and she attempted to bring Klaus out of whatever pain stricken daze he was in. She placed her hand on his shoulder gently, tapping at his cheek, "Klaus, hey, stay with us. Are you alright?" He almost seemed hypnotized, but she couldn't figure out what had it's grasp on him. How could she of guessed it was his own father?
She noticed his grip tightening on Arya, but the blonde didn't struggle under his grasp, so she didn't bother correcting him. Maybe it brought him a relief of sorts to hold onto the injured hothead? Regardless it was none of her business, so she just repeated his name, trying to bring him back to reality, "Klaus, hey, wake up."

She put her hand on his chest, smiling to herself. Well at least he's still breathing. Though she fell backwards frightened by his sudden jolt away from the bed. Her heart was racing as she thought of yelling at him, but judging by his facial expression she gathered he was just as frightened and confused as she was, arguably more so. She gave him a moment to collect himself before speaking again, "Are you alright? Is something broken or popped out of place? I can help if it's nothing major.." She offered, rubbing the back of her neck, "If it's something that needs to heal on it's own I will go look for pain killers or something to drink that might help numb the pain a little-" It was then that she noticed Jalen was acting particularly weird as well. He slung himself as far away from the group as managable in the small bedroom, causing her eyebrow to quirk in curiousity. What is going on with these two? Before she could ask, Jalen had disappeared. Though she remembered he wanted to speak with her as payment for carrying her for so long. She gave Klaus an apologetic smile, "Alright, I'll be back with something to help, stay with Arya."

She left the two alone, speeding as fast she she could with the hunk of wood the old man gifted to her. The couple attempted to protest, but Diana wasn't having it, "I've got to buy something for Klaus and I've got to find Jalen. There's something we need to discuss privately. I am grateful for your concern, but I've been on my own long enough to take care of myself." She looked around town, staring at little kiosks and the townspeople as she passed. They all look so different, like they're from a different era. This is beyond crazy.. I've got to find Jalen though, I don't know if there is anything better than Alcohol in this town.. He seemed to know a lot about wounds... She asked several people as she went along, wondering if anyone had had seen Jalen. She almost gave up, but a giggly girl finally gave her an answer.

"Have you seen a guy pass through? Black hair, blue eyes, has his fair share of arrogance?" She asked the red haired blushing female. The woman nodded, giggling again, "He went to the tavern. Good luck getting a guy like that out of there. He's good looking. The girls are probably all over him by now~ It must be difficult being with a guy like that." She winked to Diana. Rolling her eyes, Diana struggled toward the tavern. I should have guessed as much.. Damn this crutch.. She thought with a sigh. Though I guess I am worried.. even though his own wounds healed... could there be side effects? I don't know how this all works..

The Granted wish and dagger, Jalen mind hummed staring at the swirling primitive honey-sweetened beverage. I'd sure like to dagger some one
Jalen thought, his headache now subsiding. A dull glow began forming on his hands, it looked to Jalen like claws. He mulled over the projection with interest, wondering how he could implement such an ability, however the opportunity presented itself.

A creaking floorboard alerted Jalen to some presence behind him and he kicked back off the stool, turning to face the would-be assailant. Claws met claws as Jalen faced a dark giant wolf, its eyed shimmered gold and it growled. Both paused short of contact.
“Easy now
” Jalen gulped scrunching his face at the threat, “
should have known any flea-bitten rug could get a meal ticket in a dingy place like this.” The wolf reacted to his words pressing its claws against his and drawing in closer. Jalen strained against the growling beast. It bent it’s head and bit into his waist.

Jalen’s other hand still held his tankard and he mouthed some of its contents before bashing the mug down onto the wolf and spraying out beer into its face on recoil. The beast whined, shaking itself whilst Jalen lumbered towards the bar. He strained to lift himself up but managed to roll himself over the bar knocking off an assortment of liquors and beverages.

Padding noises subsided and Jalen breathed a heavy sigh. He looked down and saw that the wound wasn’t extensive, the beast hadn’t clenched deep to his surprise; still he could expect a scar.

Jalen lay behind the bar amongst the broken glass and booze, refilling his dented tankard from the floor. The doors to the tavern fluttered again as Jalen downed more alcohol.
If you're looking for someone, I'm all here," he yelled slightly inebriated, "Otherwise, try the wolf outside." He banged his hand against the counter as he motioned, cursing as a result.

"If you're looking for someone, I'm all here. Otherwise, try the wolf outside."

Groan

He's drunk.. this isn't what I expected when I decided to seek him out to help me.. Diana twitched a bit as she approached the blue eyed male, sitting down next to him on the floor of the bar. She brushed the broken glass out of the way before sitting, but didn't seem to mind the mess much otherwise, "Well I suppose I'm at the right place then, unless you revoke your request of a private chat." She responded to the drunk, rolling her eyes. She could smell the alcohol on him from where she sat, and honestly it wasn't appealing. She'd never actually drank before, considering her uptight upbringing. Though from the looks of it, she deducted that she wasn't missing out on much.

She leaned her head against the counter, "So what is it you wanted to talk about, that is... if you can even remember.." She mumbled quietly. She refused to judge him, considering she was a stranger. She couldn't begin to guess Jalen's life before now, so she had no idea what led him toward the path he was currently walking. She looked around at the mess for the first time, raising an eyebrow. Did he get in another fight? I honestly wouldn't put it past him.. but if he did.. She gave him a once over, inspecting him for wounds. He got quite banged up by the Ogre, so she was worried he'd reopened or brandished himself with new wounds. She'd almost dropped her fears when she noticed the shallow wound on his side, "Will you at least let me wrap that up? A bar is definitely too filthy for an open wound.." She added, sort of rambling because the situation was growing awkward. She wasn't good with one on one conversation, and now that she was practically alone with Jalen she felt the weirdness setting in, almost thickening the air that filled her lungs. She avoided unnecessary eye contact, waiting for a response from the dark haired man. Sure she wanted to help Klaus and Arya, but she really just wanted Jalen to release her from her debt to him. The waiting was causing her to grow nervous, so she grabbed a tankard as well, taking a sip. She instantly spit it out. Disgusting! How does he drink this stuff?! It's horrible! She however took a second drink, crinkling her nose as she forced it down. She was thirsty and beggars definitely couldn't be choosers so she dealt with the terrible taste of the alcohol. It became pretty obvious that the brunette hadn't experienced the pleasure of drinking before now, and judging by her features she wasn't liking it so far either. Most of the people who were once there fled during the fight, part of which led her to believe Jalen had entered the bar. It was a strike of luck, because it would have been a real drag if she had to search the entire village for him. Her thoughts did return to Arya and Klaus however, she wondered if they were getting along... If Arya woke up at all that is.. Sighing, she gave him a soft smile, holding up some bandages, the little that was left over from the first time she'd patched him up, "So what'll it be?"

A creak closer brought its instigator beside him, it was hazy but Jalen could tell it was Wynter, yet he wasn’t surprised.

"Well I suppose I'm at the right place then, unless you revoke your request of a private chat."
Right, Jalen rustled his hair, that.
“So what is it you wanted to talk about, that is... if you can even remember
" Wynter inquired. He squashed his eye raising his eyebrows, he’d been a little preoccupied with thoughts and feelings pertaining to the latter part of the day he’d almost forgot.

"Will you at least let me wrap that up? A bar is definitely too filthy for an open wound
” She was quick to move conversation. It was curious to see her grasp the handle of tankard unperturbed by his early bout, and the taverns dysfunctional oil lamp array cast a multitude of shaded outlines, most noticeably the creased bridge of her nose at the distaste to the mugs contents. A grin grew from Jalen’s mouth and he watched as she determinedly continued to consume more.
“It’s strong
not normal beer,” Jalen confessed nonchalantly, with the thought that she perhaps shouldn’t get carried away.

There was a little sigh from her before she turned, pulling at some cloth.
“So what'll it be?"
“Hey, ah
stop!” Jalen squirmed in reaction to her handsy nursing. It tickled. Jalen couldn’t but notice how wilful she always was. He twisted and turned as her cold hands pressed against him and the force pulled her falling close. They paused inches from one another’s face

Their breath clouded in front of them,
“Conversation time
” Jalen spoke with sudden sincerity, pressing up against her shoulders and pushing them gently apart. He sat upright against the counter, half dressed in bandages. Jalen reached into his jackets pocket and removed the letter:

Storm,

It can be said right now that you won’t believe this and there is strong doubt anything written will sway you; that is... until reality catches you up. The will pieces fall. Right now the information crucial for you to know is that your mother is alive, you have fairytale gifts and that you belong back in the kingdom with your betrothed, Diana Mountbatten. There is so much more to say

The letter continued on but the Jalen passed it over to Wynter.
“Now I’m still of two minds about all this witchcraft land, I'm quite hazy about these extra details, but it doesn’t take a genius to work out who the betrothed is, care to illuminate, Diana?”

"Hey, ah... stop!"

That was the only reply she had been given from Jalen. She certainly heard the man protest against her, wiggling and writhing in nearly every possible direction to escape her, but the sight of the blood motivated her to continue against his will. "It'll be over in just a second!" She insisted, though it wasn't until he threw her own balance off track that she found herself panicking. She attempted to catch herself, but to no avail. The shift in her equilibrium brought the two of them to a rather compromising situation. She would have met the position with a considerable amount of embarrassment, but Jalen fixed the situation by helping create space. She would have done it sooner, but she froze in shock. She couldn't believe it happened until it was already over.

“Conversation time
”

She cleared her throat, silently nodding her head to show her approval. Anything but discussing what just happened.. she thought to herself with a shiver. She accepted the parchment which read:

Diana read it speedily until she ran across her name. Chewing on her lip nervously as she read it's contents, it clear as day stated: Diana Mountbatten. So he knew that I lied from the start.. She let out an exhausted sigh before neatly folding it up and returning the letter to Jalen. She sat quiet for a moment, staring at the floor. She lied to the people who helped her survive this long... she felt horrible, and she thought about telling the truth many times before, but now that it was staring her in the face, she was terrified. What if the group cast her out for lying? What if it was impossible to gain their trust again?

She eventually looked to Jalen again after collecting her thoughts, "It is true. My name is Diana, but I'm not so sure on the Mountbatten part. My adopted name is Diana Stirling." she confessed, rubbing the back of her neck. She wasn't sure if a guy like Jalen would be aware of her. She was sort of a local celebrity, mainly because of her adopted parent's money.. but he didn't seem like the type to really give a shit about celebrities, "I was afraid that the person who sent the letter was attempting to kidnap me for a ransom from my adoptive parents."

"Could you even imagine a pair like us getting married?" she asked him before laughing a bit awkwardly, thinking on the whole 'betrothed' topic further. The two of them were as different as fire and ice. She couldn't imagine herself married to Jalen, not even for a second. Besides.. parents can't choose whom you marry anymore... I'm a prime example.. I bet Darrian has sent me at least a thousand messages on my phone.. She stared at the half drank beer, wondering how they'd ever pay for this. It wasn't like they had the local currency.. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back into the counter hopelessly. She wanted to escape this entire scene. It was awkward, and if falling on Jalen wasn't uncomfortable enough, she didn't want to see what lady luck was dishing out for her next.

I can't believe I'm actually missing home. It was miserable. I nearly left just to get away from Darrian and the Stirlings.. but right now I'd kill for some normalcy..

"It is true. My name is Diana, but I'm not so sure on the Mountbatten part. My adopted name is Diana Stirling." Diana confessed, "I was afraid that the person who sent the letter was attempting to kidnap me for a ransom from my adoptive parents." Jalen saw her hands clench around her knees, she was sat up on her legs and she shifted slightly as if uncomfortable about the conversation.

Jalen’s head shook,
“A names a name, you had your reasons,” he reassured her imperturbably, “You’ll have to let me know why you chose Wynter of all names though.” Jal let out a short laugh, “There are a lot more inconspicuous alias out there.”

He saw Di re-read part of the letter before glancing back,
"Could you even imagine a pair like us getting married?" The uneasy laugh that followed definitively answered her feelings about the situation to him.
“Undecided in truth.” He looked blankly back, “Probably the only half decent statement written.” Jalen shrugged pulling himself up. Reaching into his jacket he fumbled out some jagged coins, they chimed onto the counter top. Jalen received a strange look from Diana. “What? Not like the ogre’ll be needing them.”
“Best be on the move Di, the locals seem re-interested in their beverages.” It was more statement than suggestion, the previous occupants were already grumbling through the swish of a door hanging and the bartender couldn’t be far behind. Jalen didn’t need questions or commotion.

“Excuse me, kids.” Jalen pushed past several little folk.
“You watch who you call kid, you blind drunk, what type of place do you think this is anywho, a nursery?!” The guy returned. Realisation flushed into Jalen. It wasn’t pleasant realisation.
“You must be Grumpy then
” A sarcastic tone dribbled out of Jal. It was commotion but right kind at least for Jalen. “Come on princess.” The words Jalen threw casually behind seemed to stop the little men in mid retort. A puzzled look gelled itself to Jalen.

“A names a name, you had your reasons. You’ll have to let me know why you chose Wynter of all names though.”

The response caused her features to crinkle, wondering how he could be so... calm about the whole situation. She put it off as he didn't realize just how wealthy her family back home actually was. She laughed a bit at his request though and nodded her head slowly, "Alright, alright.. I'll explain that one. It was second nature to pick Wynter because when I was a kid.. I played in the snow until my lips nearly turned blue and well as you can tell I'm not exactly a tan person.. It was just sort of an inside joke between me and my parents because my favorite season is Winter.." She laughed a bit, "It's bold I know, but it was the only thing I knew how to recognize as my name other than Diana.." She admitted. She did it for authenticity, but she did realize how odd the name sounded once it came from an outside source. Though by then it had been too late to take it back.

“There are a lot more inconspicuous alias out there.”

"Yeah I realize that now.. It was just a little too late in the game to stop the group and admit I lied. Plus I'm afraid they'll accuse me of starting this entire mess... Which I didn't.. I just want to get home like everyone else.." She smiled weakly then smiled as he laughed again, but this time towards her remark about the two of them as a couple. It was nice to know he agreed with her on some level that it was a bunch of hocus pocus, but when he continued talking it caused her to grow a bit unnerved.

“Undecided in truth.”

Really? Why? She thought puzzled, smiling weakly again before brushing loose hair behind her ear. The hair was cakey and a mess considering her concussion prior to discovering Jalen. The mud and blood was a horrible mixture as far as texture was concerned. Your laugh was enough, why do you feel the need to make the situation as awkward as it can get? She thought chewing on her bottom lip nervously.

“Probably the only half decent statement written.”

She felt her face burst into a blush for a few seconds before she grabbed a hold of herself. He said half decent. You're not his type you idiot. Just calm down. He's a stranger and somewhat of a violent unpredictable one.. He's definitely not something you're looking for.. So why are you letting him under your skin..? She was distracted by the coins clanking on the counter and she blinked at Jalen a few times, wondering when the hell he obtained the local currency.

“What? Not like the ogre’ll be needing them.”

"It's not that... I just didn't know where you got them.. Or when..." She replied wearily. She was growing tired, but she knew she couldn't sleep properly tonight if she'd wanted to. She still had to be cautious about her concussion. She followed behind Jalen, grabbing a bottle of alcohol quietly and stuffing it into her own jacket as discreetly as possible when he wasn't looking. She'd never stolen anything before, but remembering the pain Klaus was in definitely was a reassuring factor that she was doing it for a good reason. It was too late to search the shops. By now the streets had to be void of merchants. It's only stealing if you don't need it... right?

“Best be on the move Di, the locals seem re-interested in their beverages.”

"You don't have to tell me twice." She responded, moving closer behind him as the locals came through the other side of the swinging door. The men were rather short and of several different personalities. Dwarves? That's interesting.. Though Jalen got the next part out before she realized he'd have something to say that could anger them.

“Excuse me, kids.”

She grabbed his arm gently, not hard enough to stop his pace, but as a reminder that they had places to be rather than fighting a bunch of Dwarves. Then the short angry looking man replied. Shit.. if it continues like this there is going to be a fight. She could feel a knot tying itself up in her stomach. No way in hell Jalen could fight all seven.. She'd surely be forced to get involved..
Jalen pushed past several little folk.

“You watch who you call kid, you blind drunk, what type of place do you think this is anywho, a nursery?!”

“You must be Grumpy then
 Come on princess.”

She opened her mouth but stopped when Jalen finally spoke rationally, "Yeah let's go Klaus and Diana are waiting.. Sorry about the confusion, sir." She smiled to Grumpy, realizing that she'd just met the Seven Dwarves from Snow white. It was...a bit overwhelming. And after seeing Dopey for herself.. she was certain that he was a pothead now. There goes my childhood.. The seven continued in the bar and she couldn't help but giggle at their behaviors. It was much like a band of children, but she decided to keep her mouth shut as she led Jalen off by his wrist before someone decided to rekindle the flames of anger.

She led him along until she saw Klaus's head peeking out of the door and she waved enthusiastically, "Hey! We're back! I got you something for the pain!" She shouted, almost dragging Jalen back to the little house, "Is Arya awake yet?"

It was infuriating to Jalen that he’d been dragged through the hamlet, all to meet and greet a guy whom he’d considered to have no real affiliation.
“You can pretend he needs it
” Jalen said upon arrival, slicing the bottle from Diana’s grasp with a deft hand, “
Or you can make your peace with the fact some people require this more.” He lifted his chin with the bottle to his lips and the liquid quelled his annoyance. Jalen moved towards a fabric coated chair by the hearth that the old man had taken to reside in, there was a suctioning pop when his lips parted from the bottle and his face furrowed and he looked down. “Move.” The old man didn’t hesitate to rise and joined his wife, standing over the other side of the room, nearer the others. Jalen sat himself down; legs crossed hanging over an armrest.
“Everyone’s alive and well I see,” He glared with indifference to each of them in turn, a spark flickered from his hand, “Testy
 My, my
”He lifted his arm for another swig, the angle this time however pulled at his waist and he winced slightly creasing an eye as he drank undeterred.
"Oh and if some short stocky kids come knocking for me, I'm not in and I'm not interested in their bearded girl scout cookies. I'm crashing out right here, undisturbed." He looked towards the old man and woman, they nodded slowly, the latter bending to peer out the window, taking the literal wording to heart. Jalen removed the old note again from his pocket, this time discarding it into the fireplace, not a second later he withdrew another and repeated the action.
"Has anyone else noticed how these damn letters don't part ways with us?" The edges of Jalens latest letter were folded and moments later the parchment soared into the air before succumbing to a fiery demise in the hearth.

The crashing noise of the dishes and pans brought her out of the moment. She slowly sat down, collecting herself as she excused herself from reality. What was that all about? Grabbing me like that and asking me what I could see? She shook her head, rubbing the back of her neck. Honestly things were just getting to be a little too weird for her around here.

"Oh my boy, thank you. I almost made it too."

Arya smiled at the old man. As creepy as the old couple was, they were a bright pair. Their moods were always so happy and warm. They relaxed her, though all she felt like doing was crying. At this point even Lucan's voice would have been reassuring. She just wanted to know she wasn't imagining all of this.

"Does it bother you? Living this way?"

Klaus, that's insensitive. She thought to herself, but simply dropped the thought from her mind. She couldn't reprimand his manners all the time, and besides, she was still a little lost by his previous actions. She smiled to the couple and as the woman went to grab her some of the stew, Arya raised her hands defensively, "No thanks... Just fruit and vegetables for me, please." She smiled weakly, unsure of what animal was inside the concoction. The woman gave her a strange look, but accepted the request, bringing her a bowl of apples, lettuce and a slice of bread on the side, "Thank you." She smiled at the woman.

"Can't say it does. Nope, me and the misses are happier than two birds flying around. If I was to ask for more, that would be a selfish act. My wife is all the selfishness I could ever ask for."

"No problem dear. It's nice having the four of you around. I always wanted a big family, I guess this is a gift of sorts. Giving us a bit of what we've never had, and for that I'm so grateful."

The woman gave her a sincere smile and for some odd reason Arya couldn't help but smile back. These people.. They were so polite and thankful for what little they had. The complete opposite of New York. At least he didn't offend the old man.. She thought to herself thankfully, taking a bite into the bread and swallowing. It hurt, but getting some food into her belly was fulfilling enough. The woman left to attend what appeared to be a shop. So Arya got a front row seat to the rest of the men's conversation. She took a drink of water, only to choke on it as the next words came from the old man's lips. He is NOT my boyfriend!

"One day, with your misses.. you might understand just what I mean."

She kept her mouth shut, as much as she would have enjoyed screaming how much Klaus annoyed her, and how they'd never end up like the couple before them. She settled by stuffing her face, biting into one of the apples she was given by the old lady. Thankfully Klaus didn't put his two cents in on the matter either. Thank you for letting me enjoy my meal. She thought to herself, though she kept it to herself as well.

"I don't like living in debt or thinking I have to owe someone, so for thanks, I will help you both out, this has to do with my own greed and selfish acts, and not yours, so don't worry about it."

Her curiousity perked as Klaus mentioned aiding the couple in some way. She raised an eyebrow as she continued to devour the apple. She couldn't help but wonder how he intended to help. What are you going to do? Steal a baby from a couple and hand it to them? She though sarcastically, but then wondered if she could put it past him.

"I wont stop you from doing your will. But you're welcome dear boy."

I don't know about that.. Are you sure it's a wise choice old man to give Klaus free reign? She responded in her head. Though she just started on the lettuce, chewing it down. It felt like it had been days since she'd last ate and this food was just so delicious. She wondered how they got their crops to taste so good.

"Arya, love. Shall we go find the others or wait longer?"

Arya had been so focused on the food that she'd spaced out for a couple moments, but she nodded her head. She emptied the bowl into the waste bucket before washing it up with the rest of the dishes Klaus had taken care of, "Just a moment." she lived in the orphanage most of her life, so she was used to washing each dish as it was used rather than as a whole. Just as she began to approach she saw Wynter standing before Klaus.

"Hey! We're back! I got you something for the pain! Is Arya awake yet?"

Arya smiled a bit from the concern in her voice, but something about Jalen's attitude made her frown. What's eating at him? She thought curiously, but patted Wynter on the shoulder, "It's fine.. At least you tried. Alcoholics will be Alcoholics.." She reassured Wynter, frowning at Jalen a bit. That was for Klaus.. You could have at least asked first. She thought before closing her eyes. She didn't want to start any trouble in someone else's home if she didn't have to.

“Move.”

As much as she wished she could have controlled her temper, that was when Arya's blood began to boil. Despite her injury, Arya stormed over to Jalen putting her finger in his face, before trying to tug him out of the seat. She couldn't stand someone being rude to the elderly, and she'd had enough of the arrogance between Klaus and Jalen. Unluckily for Jalen he just dropped the last straw on the stack. The thin line of control Arya had over her temper had just snapped in two. "Look, this isn't our place. You don't take a seat from the owner of a home and you definitely don't do it like that. I may be a girl but I won't hesitate to break your jaw if you don't quickly learn to show respect when it's necessary."

“Everyone’s alive and well I see. Testy
 My, my
Has anyone else noticed how these damn letters don't part ways with us?"

Her eyes narrowed at him, seeing as she couldn't remove him. Every tug made her chest ache and after a while she gave up for a moment. The anger in her eyes was alarming. She hadn't caught the rest of what he'd said, but her eyes heated up the more she thought on his behavior, "Maybe we're mean't to read the entire letter before we can get rid of it."

"I should have let you suffer." She muttered under her breath only loud enough for the two of them to hear, and shortly after her anger overwhelmed her and she attempted to throw him out of the old man's chair one last time. Though it was different this time. As soon as her hand touched Jalen, a dark purple light shrouded over her hand on his arm and then around Jalen. After it evaporated, for some terrifying reason Jalen's wounds from the Ogre began returning one by one, just as they were before she healed them up. Apparently she could reverse the healing process as well. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth in horror, "Make it stop!" she shouted at Jalen, as if he had some sort of control over what was happening. I didn't mean it like that! Why is this happening to me! Apparently her abilities were based off of emotion.
