Brutal and crippled Ironfang
Jarek is highly intelligent, cold, calculating and often remorseless. He is charismatic, and superficially kind. People tend to get involved with him, seeing only his handsome face and smooth lies, and soon regret their choice. However, to his masters, he's genuinely caring and willing to do anything for them.
- Fears: Jarek is scared of being left without someone to guide him. He is also petrified of lych gates, but won't tell why.
- Aspirations: Jarek hopes to serve someone well - someone strong and intelligent. That's literally his only goal in life. He just wants to be good and to make them happy.
- Quirks: Jarek dislikes swearing, either from his own lips, or from the mouths of others. You can always tell when he's furious, because he'll start to swear. However, he's usually good at controlling his temper and letting it out as pure sadism. He's secretly quite grumpy. Jarek likes the person he's serving to hurt him, and collects their names, by way of requesting they carve them into his skin. He holds a profound interest in mythology.
- Flaws: Jarek has absolutely no empathy for anyone, and will often manipulate people for his own ends and means. His emotions are often shallow and he is cruel. In short, a textbook sociopath. However, he is submissive and servile to his masters, never questioning whatever they do or ask of him. To them, he is simply a guard dog which terrifies everyone else, but is like an affectionate puppy to them.
Other/Misc: He enjoys physical affection, such as hugs, and likes to sleep beside someone, even if they aren't sexually involved. He will sometimes hiss, and enjoys basking in the sun. Unlike other Ironfangs, he doesn't find human flesh to be his favourite, and will eat any meat. He has a weak back, legs and fingers from being tortured when he was younger, and if he's not careful, he can hurt himself so badly he won't be able to move. Similarly, the scars crossing his lips are from them being sewn up with cheesewire.
On him at any time:
Jarek was born and bred to be a guard. His upbringing was somewhat privileged, as he was intended for a prominent noble figure of the world he was born into. Despite how he was treated as a special snowflake, especially when his high intelligence and drive to serve were discovered, he was also worked hard for his job. Haughty and arrogant to his teachers, he deigned them less intelligent than him. However, when faced with Dvarak, the man he'd been raised to protect, he was instantly humble and obedient.
Still young, curious about the world he'd rarely seen alone, and not caring about the trouble those who cared for him would be in, he went out to explore the world in his human form. He was recognised by criminals as an Imperial Ironfang, and despite the fight he put up, he was captured, tortured and held to ransom. He was retrieved, but in disgrace. His back, legs and fingers weren't cared for properly, and he grew weaker as he grew older. The joy he gained from hurting people before turned, and his goals tended to focus on causing immense pain rather than death. Noting this, Dvarak decided he would keep Jarek as a torturer, rather than the semi-crippled pet he'd been since his torture.
