Setting
However, there are offshoots of the main 'clan' of the native dominant species β the main clan, known as Tirnan (singular β Tirnai), are incredibly xenophobic, and have driven the other clans (Drosphen, Fircian and Phiran) out of the technologically advanced cities and into the wilds. As such, they tend to live in smaller towns and villages, but aren't as unaccepting as the Tirnan.
The world's fauna is in some ways similar to ours β however, most things are smaller. There are no megafauna equivalents to huge animals such as the polar bear, blue whale or elephant. There are both tame and feral Sik, and the feral ones are often incredibly dangerous, being larger and having claws and fangs (think the difference between pet cats and lionsβ¦ but on a less big scale). There are, however, animals like this world has β deer, wolves, cattle, boar, etc. They are just smaller than our world's versions.
The flora of the world is superficially similar to ours β there are, however, small differences such as carnivorous trees, and xylophagic trees. These are pretty rare, though.
The biggest city of the country they are in is Ophes, where the Tirnan live. It is technologically advanced compared to our cities today, and yet also influenced by natural magic β there are slum areas where the Shakes live, small creatures used as slaves. The Shakes are generally less intelligent than the average human, easily frightened and obedient. They rely entirely on the Tirnan for their existence and would likely die in the wilds.
The wilds are the large expanses of plain where the humans find themselves β the temperature is somewhat cold, as Tirnan often channel heat towards their cities. However, the Dros forests begin after a few miles, home of the Drosphen clan.
