Alec said once that school wasn't fun but Sunday liked to learn, and her father said that it would be a good idea that she went. She didn't like being pit against her father and Alec, but they had to keep up appearances. They've still been seeing each other, those they haven't actually done things yet, she wasn't sure she was ready after all that she'd been through and Alec never pressed the issues, or even expressed any interests beyond a few touches here and there and long moments of kissing. She didn't mind them, but that was as far as it would go, if at any point, he'd go further south, she'd take his hand and that would be the end of it, but not the kissing. That she liked a lot.

Her father never asked about what they did when they were together and oddly enough, it was Alexis who always backed them up, saying she was with them, or she'd just left them. Sunday learned that Alexis, as scary as she was, was actually really quite nice, and wanted them to be together. Once, when it was just Sunday and Alexis, she told her she and Alec were a lot alike, they had a power that made most people, even if they didn't know them, afraid, so she wanted Alec to be happy with whoever he could be, cousins or not, she wouldn't get in the way of that.

So things were good and Sunday was actually happy, she had her father, and she had the man she loved, and a family that loved her. Image
"School seems somewhat boring, Father." she told him as they walked down the hall. "and how can I keep things a secret, I'm Fae now, I can't lie." She said, "I watched on the television, this...um...what's the word---"
He answered for her.
"Right, Show, about a girl, who was Fae, and she had to keep it a secret in school, it was not realistic at all, I don't think that mortals, know what faeries really are. I don't have wings." She said, looking at her back. "Only pixies have wings, and a few others, that's what grandmother says." She said, not really giving Simon much room to speak. "They didn't even say what type of Faery she was, like Faery was a race, not a species." She said, going on, until they reached the classroom where a lovely olive skinned teacher was waiting for them.

"Oh, You must be Sunday, You-You're her father?" She said, tripping a little on her words, looking up at her father. Sunday smiled, she knew that look all too well. "Yes, he is." She said, smiling proudly, calling the teacher's attention back to her. "Alright, Welcome to Parkwood Regional, I'll be giving you the tour, I'm Sashi Dallas, You can call me, Ms. Sashi everyone does." She told Sunday, holding out her hand for her to shake. Sunday knew this gestured and eagerly took her hand. "I'm Sunday M...Davenport." She said, shooting a glance at her father and while she was certain the teacher saw the slip up, it was clear, even to Sunday, she could see the dynamic between them. Sunday was taking her father's last name, not her mother's. After her father and the teacher shook hands, the teacher gestured for them to walk.
"Well, Mr. Davenport, Sunday, just this way." She said, smiling. " You've a lovely name." She said and Sunday giggled. "As you do, Ms. Sashi, it makes me want to spin." Sunday said causing the teacher to laugh. "You're cute." She said. "So where are you from, Sunday?" Ms. Sashi asked and Sunday looked to her father. She couldn't say the demon realm, and she couldn't lie. The teachers back was to her, so she looked at him with a dumbfounded expression, hoping he'd answer for her.

Simon had decided to spend the entire day with his daughter, Sunday, showing her the high school she was to be attending. He thought that she needed a distraction from the war, from all the things that had happened and would continue to happen to her, and giving her some semblance of a normal life seemed like a good idea to him at the time. While on one hand he was doubting she would cope well being surrounded by so many humans, he also hoped that she might learn to blend in with them.

"School seems somewhat boring, Father," Sunday informed him as they made their way down the empty halls, and Simon smiled down at her, almost bemused. "And how can I keep things a secret? I'm Fae now, I can't lie," she continued. She had a good point, though his sister had done well enough, so he knew it was at least somewhat possible. But Sunday was naive, and he did not doubt she would slip up every now and then. "I watched on the television, this... um... what's the word-" she paused, as if waiting for an answer, and after he provided one, she continued. "Right, show, about a girl, who was Fae, and she had to keep it a secret in school, it was not realistic at all. I don't think that mortals know what faeries really are. I don't have wings. Only pixies have wings, and a few others, that's what grandmother says." Simon nodded, unable to keep himself from releasing a light-hearted chuckle. It was true; the media surrounding his kind - as well as pretty much all supernatural/mythical species and races - were distorted and unrealistic. He had not yet explained that mortals held a limited understanding of things they had never encountered before, but she at least knew the importance of hiding her true species, so he didn't think the issue was worth pressing. "They didn't even say what type of Faery she was, like Faery was a race, not species." She kept rambling on, not even giving her father the time of day, and Simon was content to let her continue. She was opinionated, and it had probably been a long time since she could talk so comfortably with anyone, let alone a parent. He would listen for as long as she found things to say.

It wasn't long before they reached the classroom for the meeting with one of the teachers. Simon knocked once to signal their presence outside, before pushing the door open and stepping inside. The teacher approached, and Simon's breath caught in his throat, suddenly at a loss for words. She didn't seem to notice much as she was the first one to speak, and as she and Sunday exchanged words, Simon had to be careful not to stare. Her beauty was a distraction he could not afford when he shared the company of his daughter; he had to watch her like a hawk in case she slipped up, which she did rather quickly. "I'm Sunday M... Davenport," she said, and Simon met her quick glance with one of his own, though his held the reassurance that the mistake could be forgiven, since it was generally understood that Sunday had not lived with him for her entire life. He had made this known when he attepted to enroll her, without going into too many details, as well as the fact that this would be her first time attending any public school.

His attention returned to Sashi as she offered him her hand, which he gently shook. "Well, Mr. Davenport, Sunday, just this way." He followed after her as she left the classroom, presumably to begin their tour. "So where are you from, Sunday?" she later asked, and Simon knew immediately that this would be an issue. Starting off on a bad note was something he hoped to avoid, and so as Sunday looked up at him with confusion and panic in her eyes, Simon cleared his throat lightly, having to give his answer a few seconds of thought. "She grew up with her mother in Los Angeles, California," he finally said, knowing that Sunday probably wouldn't be familiar with the location; he would have to explain later, because he was too busy looking at Sashi as they walked. "She came to Parkwood only a week ago, I thought I'd give her some time to settle in before enrolling her in school." Simon placed a hand on Sunday's shoulder as he spoke. He could think of no more to say, so he patiently awaited Sashi's response.

Mr. Davenport cleared his throat before answering which made Sashi turned to look back at them. "She grew up with her mother in Los Angeles, California," he said and Sunday gave an odd expression of confusion then but smiled back at Sashi. Her father's eyes never left her which made her feel both good and strange at the same time. He looked way too young to be her father, but he could have just one of those faces and a handsome one at that. "She came to Parkwood only a week ago, I thought I'd give her some time to settle in before enrolling her in school." His hand rested on his daughter's shoulder and Sashi smiled. It was clear they were both getting used to things now, and it was sweet. He seemed to be trying which was more than she could say for her own father.

"Ah, the City of Angels, I've always wanted to visit." She said, and Sunday's eyes went wide, as she looked up at her father, who just explained that Sunday was a bit peculiar and Sunday went quiet. They were odd, she noted, but in a fun way, they would fit right in with the strangeness of Parkwood.

"Let me be the first to welcome you to Parkwood, Sunday." She said and Sunday smiled. "Thank you," She said politely, and they continued their tour. She showed them the grounds, where the classrooms where, the library, the gym, and computer lab. She explained to them the clubs and other activities that Sunday could be apart of if she wanted.

"Oh you have music!" Sunday chirped when she saw the music room, she darted inside, and thankfully the room was empty. Sunday grabbed a violin and rose it to her chin. "I love music!" She said and Sashi grinned. "Can you play?"

"It's the only thing I'm good at." She said smiling and Sashi's smile twisted into a confused one. She didn't want to guess such a horrible thing but it seemed that Sunday's self esteem was low, much like Sashi's used to be. Abused children knew one when they saw one, and Sashi could see that Sunday was one of them. Just like her. She seemed happy now, and it likely due to her moving with her father.

"May I?" She asked and Sashi smiled. "Of course." She said and Sunday began. Sashi watched in awe as the girl danced her bow across the strings, music floated up in the room, and it touched her heart in a way she'd never experienced before. Sashi felt herself blinking back tears.

"My....She's amazing." She told Mr. Davenport as she finished her song and Sunday placed down the violin and came bounded over toward them. "Did you like it?" She asked as if searching for approval from anyone would make her day. "Yes, It was wonderful, beautiful, you are incredibly talented, Sunday, you really are." She said, and she knew she was laying it on a bit thick but she wasn't lying. Sunday was an amazing little musician and sweet as can be. Sunday then came up and hugged Sashi. "Oh, Well then" She said, and hugged her back.

Sunday then pulled back. "The other students are out to lunch, so you could go in there while your father and I go over your enrollment." She said, and Sunday smiled, she hugged her father and skipped off to the quad to look around. Her father had to look of pure terror watching his daughter go off on her own and Sashi chuckled. "I was like her once, the world was so big, and wide, she's got to experience it." She told him. "My office isn't far from the quad, you'll be able to see her through the window." She told him and lead him to her office. On the door, it had Counselor in bold letters, and her door was open, her room was filled with child drawings, a few pictures of her and other students, and oddly, a few fairy themed trinkets. She checked to see if anyone was inside, she usually let her students just come in if they needed. She was someone they could talk to, she'd been through it all and then some, and with her background in child psychology she knew how to get through to them. "Um, so, if I may be so bold, I would say that Sunday was....abused as a child?" She asked, she didn't want to open up with that, but she had to, it would give her a better understanding o her to deal with Sunday and get her properly acclimated. "I'm a counselor, and I was too, when I was young, so I know it when I see it, you don't have to tell me the details, but I am someone who understands, and has been there." She said and looked out the window on her left, seeing Sunday looking up a tree at a bird. She smiled. "I just want to make sure that the both of you know, I'm here if she needs to talk about it, and sometimes, us girls, we need other girls to talk to." She said, and smiled.

"Ah, the City of Angels, I've always wanted to visit," Sashi replied after a moment, which initially caused Simon to smile - up to the point where he felt Sunday's eyes on him. He looked down at her and noticed the bewilderment in her eyes, and before Sashi could even think to question it, Simon piped up, having immediately turned his attention back to her. "Sunday tends to take things a little too literally sometimes," he informed her, "it's one of her many quirks." He was trying not to be too hurtful to his daughter, who had suddenly gone quiet, but maintaining the secret of their true species was more important to him at that moment. He would apologise to Sunday later, if given the time. For the time being, Simon focused his attention on the tour, though he was all too familiar with the halls he now walked down. He had attended this school in his youth; it hadn't changed much, if at all, with the exception of new and improved resources/equipment.

They went to various rooms in order of closeness and accessibility, before finally arriving at the music room, which Simon instantly knew would catch his daughter's interest. He stayed mostly out of the way as she and Sashi exchanged words, and found his thoughts elsewhere throughout the duration of Sunday's song, until Sashi turned and spoke to him. "My... She's amazing," she informed him, and he could only nod, a small smile slipping its way across his full lips. He felt proud that his daughter was able to show off her talents; he knew music was something had a passion for, and thought for a moment that she might be able to find a crowd to fit into if she studied such things when she came here.

Before he knew it, Sashi was attempting to get him on his own to discuss further arrangements for Sunday's enrollment, and while he saw the necessity of it, that didn't make it any easier for him to stay quiet as Sunday made her way outside. He felt a frown settle on his brows, and he felt his teeth tugging at his lower lip - out of worry. Sashi's chuckle only just managed to break him from his thoughts, and he turned to her after a moment. "I was like her once, the world was so big, and wide, she's got to experience it," she said, and Simon couldn't help but think, not alone. He glanced once more in the direction which she had exited from, before following after Sashi. "My office isn't far from the quad, you'll be able to see her through the window." Simon felt relieved at this, and it prompted him to pick up his pace, until they entered the aforementioned office.

Simon took a moment to glance around the room, taking note of the things within it, from the drawings to the drinkets and later to the window, where - just as promised - he could see his daughter wandering about the quad. He exhaled suddenly, not realising that he'd been holding his breath. "Um, so, if I may be so bold, I would say tht Sunday was... abused as a child?" she asked, and Simon's eyes widened slightly as the suddenness of the question, as if it were the most casual topic for them to discuss. He thought he was coming in to discuss her enrollment, not her childhood. His fingers curled into his palms as he looked at her. "I'm a counselor, and I was too, when I was young, so I know it when I see it, you don't have to tell me the details, but I am someone who understands, and has been there."

Simon found this infuriating, that she thought she could relate to Sunday's pain, to the things she had been forced to experience as a child. He felt his temper flaring, though he did not wish to let loose on her daughter's teacher, so if he must talk about it, he would do so calmly and with reason. "I just want to make sure that the both of you know, I'm here if she needs to talk about it, and sometimes, us girls, we need other girls to talk to."

There was a long pause as Simon looked at Sashi, an expression of both confusion and general annoyance on his face, which he did not even attempt to hide. "You're correct, Sunday was abused as a child. Her mother was a... troubled woman, to say the absolute least, and put her through things that no one could possibly relate to, or even understand." He found himself sharing perhaps too much information, but by this point - no matter how he wanted to remain reasonable - he could not tap into the logic and reason within himself. "It's any wonder she turned out so... incredible," he continued, his gaze shifting constantly from Sashi to Sunday, then at his feet, his hands, the desk, etc. He couldn't seem to focus on anything in particular. "I didn't even know she existed until a week ago, when she appeared at my doorstep." He lifted a hand to his head, running his fingers through his long hair, before huffing, seemingly able to compose himself from there on out.

"I'm sure Sunday will come to appreciate that she can talk to you. She's very open with others, perhaps a little too much, and I can already tell she's fond of you," Simon continued, a soft smile now pulling at the corners of his lips. "She need someone she can rely on here... I fear that she will struggle with the other students; she was kept mostly on her own throughout her early life, she doesn't know how to socialise properly, and can be considered 'weird' by teenage standards. I just need to know that, if she attends these classes, you'll keep an eye on her."

Sashi could see the annoyance on his face as he looked at her, deciding what to do or say next. She overstepped just a bit, she saw, but she had to. She had to know what it was she was dealing with.
"You're correct, Sunday was abused as a child. Her mother was a... troubled woman, to say the absolute least, and put her through things that no one could possibly relate to, or even understand. He said and Sashi nodded. She knew what that meant. Sexual abuse. That was all she needed to know that Sunday was almost exactly like her, odd, socially inapt, surely she didn't know everything, nor would she, but she knew enough. She made a note to keep Sunday close. "It's any wonder she turned out so... incredible," He said and she smiled, her eyes moving to Sunday as a group of girls approached her, while his seemed to dart everywhere and nowhere at once. "I didn't even know she existed until a week ago, when she appeared at my doorstep." He said and she looked up at him. That was an awful, amazing as Sunday is, that she was suddenly dropped in his lap, that was hard enough when they were young, but as a teenaged girl, going through all sorts of changes. At least she had a caring father, one that seemed to just try.

That also explained Sunday's oddness, she was sheltered, cut off from the world, and so she knew very little. Perhaps public school wasn't the best place for her. High school was hard enough when you knew the world, a girl like Sunday, with all her troubles and oddities, she wouldn't stand a chance.

"I'm sure Sunday will come to appreciate that she can talk to you. She's very open with others, perhaps a little too much, and I can already tell she's fond of you," He went on, adding a dashing smile.

Sashi smiled, a bit bashfully, going through the enrollment papers, makings sure she had all that he would need to fill out but she stopped. She wasn't so sure that Sunday would make it here. Not her first year. "I'm here, but um...with that in mind, I'm only a counselor, I won't be here everyday, and I think..." She stopped. "I don't want to overstep again but...she is so sweet and so new, she does need to experience the world but...I don't know if a public school would be good for her, by what you told me." She said, carefully, not wanting to upset him.
Image Her eyes drifted as she took a breath, her mind going back to her own past, her own childhood, and teenaged years, how hard they were during and after everything.
"You may think that no one understands, but that just it, I do, I know that shes been hurt in a way a young girl can never fully recover from, because I was. In time, you recognize the signs, her abuse was masked as a punishment, like mine was. I had to do everything right, if I did, then I wouldn't get hurt, but it seemed I never did anything right, not knowing it was just an excuse to hurt me..." She said, looking down, setting down the papers.
"Perhaps it was worse than mine, perhaps it wasn't, that I don't know but, I do know, that she seeks approval, she wants to make sure that she's doing something good, for fear of making a mistake, I was just like that, even when I got free, like she did, she found you, and I found my foster family, but still it was in the back of my mind, worrying that I might make a mistake, fearing that I would, or that I had, so everything I did, I had to show it, if I drew a picture, got good grades, completed a book, finished my food, it didn't matter what it was, I had to make sure I did it right. I'd ask the same question a half a hundred times, "Did I do it right, Did you like it, did I do good...I'm sure you heard it before, " She said. "She did the same to me, just then in the music room, she sought my approval, just like I used to, so I understand, believe me, the trauma not be the same, but the mind set is, I understand much better than you think." she said and honestly, she had no idea what she went into so much detail with him but seeing a young girl so much like herself, seeing that she could make a difference in her life, meant more to her than it probably should have. She frowned some,

"Wow, Sorry, um...that...got really dark. I shouldn't have said all of that." She chuckled before looking outside once again. She saw a crowd forming around the tree Sunday was just standing at.

"Shit!" She cursed, not meaning to out loud. She looked around for Sunday but with the crowd that had formed, she could tell, that could only be one of two things, a fight, or worse.

She stood, and made her way out of the room, her father in toe, and found herself standing face to face with the now red faced girl, her dark hair that had once fallen straight was disheveled, as if it had been pulled, her pale skin was streaked with tears. "Sunday what happened?" She said, kneeling down some, to be at her level.
Image
"A bird, it fallen from the tree, it's neck was broken, so I picked it up, and these girls they came to me, I thought they wanted to help, but one of them knocked it out of my hand, called it gross" She said, with a sniff, tearing dripping down her cheeks, Sashi burshed her tears with a thumb. " They teased me, called me names, she called Stupid, my mother called me stupid, I hate that word." She said, and looked up and over at her father. "I hate that word." She told him, before running to him and wrapping her arms around him tightly, as if she could hid in his jacket and Sashi looked up and him then back down to her. " You are not stupid, do you hear me? You're not, don't listen to them."
Sunday turned her head from her father's chest, looking at Sashi, still wrapped firmly around his waist.
"I only wanted to help." She said, sobbing.
"Of course you did, that was a kind thing, to try to help the bird. A good thing" Sashi said, and Sunday sniffed again.

"I tried to get it but they knocked me down, I don't know why they knocked me down, I was only after the bird. They called me a freak." She said, and Sashi clicked her teeth. She was far from ready for public school let alone high school. "I don't want to go here, Father, I hate school, I hate it, I hate it!" She curled back into his chest again and Sashi could do nothing for her then.
Image
"We do have a homeschooling program, I could come to your house, and teach her there." She said and Sunday looked up then. "You still could still be my teacher"? Sunday asked, wiping her tears, still tucked into her father. "Well, I never was, I was a counselor." She said but that seemed to go completely over Sunday's head. "But yes, I could teach you, and you won't have to deal with the girls here." She said. "But only if it's okay with your father," Sashi added looking up and Mr. Davenport. "Oh please, please, Father, can she? Can she teach me at home?" She asked, with the biggest eyes she'd ever seen. Sashi found herself smiling, poor man, he had to look of a man who would fly if his daughter asked.

Simon took note of the smile Sashi wore, but did not offer one of his own, as she began sorting through papers and such. He remained silent, though his shifted from her to the clock on the wall, checking the time. As the room fell under silence, he looked down to see that Sashi had stopped sorting through papers and was instead looking up at him. "I'm here, but um... with that in mind, I'm only a counsellor, I won't be here everyday, and I think..." There was a hesitation, which caused Simon to tense up a little. "I don't want to overstep again but... she is so sweet and so new, she does need to experience the world but... I don't know if a public school would be good for her, by what you told me," she continued, and while this was upsetting information to Simon, he did not blame Sashi for thinking the way she did, and he knew that in many ways she had Sunday's best interests at heart. Still, he couldn't help but sigh in response, looking down at the ground for only a moment. He had been so hopeful that his daughter might finally be allowed the chance to be normal, but he wouldn't force this experience on her if she wasn't ready, so he would take Sashi's advice on board.

It was then that she began talking about Sunday's past, even after knowing that such topics were sensitive for him. Of course he did not like thinking about the cruel environment his child was raised in for the larger majority of her life, but it was more than that. Sashi may have been abused, and Simon was not disregarding her pain or even thinking that what she went through meant nothing, he sympathised with her, but it still irritated him. Truth be told, a lot of the things she was saying were making sense. She understood a lot about why Sunday acted the way she did, on a level that Simon had never been able to reach. He had not been abused, though he had been abandoned, so he would not understand in the same way. He listened to her as she spoke, for quite some length of time, until a small frown settled upon her brow. "Wow, sorry, um... that... got really dark, I shouldn't have said all that." As she shifted her gaze, Simon murmured a quick 'don't worry about it', before - almost startlingly - Sashi cursed loudly and rushed out of the room with such urgency that Simon felt the instinctive need to follow.

They made their way quickly to the quad, where Sunday stood looking battered and about ready to explode. "Sunday, what happened?" Sashi asked, and Simon looked down at her as she kneeled before his daughter, a deep frown on his features. In that moment he could have straight up kicked her out of the way to get to his daughter, but as his body tensed, he felt the urge to do something stupid lessening. "A bird, it fallen from the tree, it's neck was broken, so I picked it up, and these girls, they came up to me, I thought they wanted to help, but one of them knocked it out of my hand, called it gross," Sunday began, and Simon felt the start of a sigh, but stopped himself. "They teased me, called me names, she called me stupid, my mother called me stupid, I hate that word." Simon met his daughter's gaze as she looked up at him. "I hate that word."

Simon wrapped his arms around his daughter as she ran to him, his hand on the back of her head, smoothing the dishevelled hair. "I know," he murmured quietly, and he was about to speak again, to reassure his daughter, but Sashi began speaking again in his place and he felt his jaw clench so hard he though he might shatter all of his teeth. "You are not stupid, do you hear me? You're not, don't listen to them." As Sunday turned her head, Simon felt his arms tightening around her, even if only a little, his dark gaze turned to Sashi also. "I only wanted to help," Sunday said, to which Sashi promptly replied, "Of course you did, that was a kind thing, to try to help the bird. A good thing."

I mean, sure... Why give her father any room to speak? Simon thought.

By this point, Simon began to see all attempts at speaking as a futile effort, and instead watched the interactions between his daughter and her would-have-been counsellor. Even when Sunday turned her attention towards him, he could say nothing. He was perhaps less calm than Sunday, or at least he was getting there, but the prospect of a home-schooling programme distracted him enough that he didn't feel the need to sling his daughter over his shoulder and walk away.

"But only if it's okay with your father," Sashi said, looking up at him; he tried his best to fix his expression, which he assumed was a rather successful effort, before focusing solely on his daughter as she begged and pleaded with him to say yes. He could not bring himself to do so immediately, though he so desperately wanted to see a smile on her face once again. There was too much risk involved with bringing a human over to the hotel on frequent occasions, but Sunday would not understand this, and neither would Sashi. His family would definitely not approve and if Sashi found out about their secrets, he wouldn't quite know what to do with her from then on. It was too difficult of a time for them to take care around the hotel; this was a hard enough task when they weren't dealing with a war.

After giving himself a moment to think, his eyes meeting Sunday's and seeing the hope and expectancy in them, he faltered with an exasperated sigh, before shrugging his shoulders. "I suppose it couldn't hurt to try," he started, agreeing even after all that had made him want to oppose. He just couldn't refuse. If Sunday was not stable enough to attend school, then the least he could do was not deny her the opportunity to learn elsewhere, in a more comfortable environment for her. It would not be easy, but it would be worth it if he could see Sunday smiling. With an immense amount of effort on his part, Simon looked up at Sashi once again. "Thank you for the offer, we accept... If you give me a number to call, I will do so to square out the details," he began again, "but for now I think Sunday just needs some time to calm down, so I'll take her home." He looked down at Sunday again, with a soft smile upon his own lips. "Perhaps we can even pick up some orange soda on the way."

Simon found himself looking up at Sashi, awaiting an answer or a number.

"I suppose it couldn't hurt to try," Sunday beamed. "Oh yay!" She cried, hugging her father tightly around the waist and Ms. Sashi chuckled a little. "Thank you for the offer, we accept... If you give me a number to call, I will do so to square out the details," he went on and Sashi nodded, smiling. Sunday really liked Ms. Sashi, even though she was human, she seem to understand her, even her father didn't really understand her. "but for now I think Sunday just needs some time to calm down, so I'll take her home." Her father said and Sunday nodded. "Perhaps we can even pick up some orange soda on the way." He added, and Sunday grinned. "Oh yes, Please, I would love that!" She said, bouncing a little on her heels. She turned to Ms. Sashi. "Thank you, thank you!" She said, and hugged the woman, nearly knocking her over. "Oh you are quite welcome, Sunday." She said hugging her back before Sunday pulled away. It was then that Sunday's phone buzzed in her purse, and she jumped a little, forgetting all about the thing. She giggled and stepped away, she saw that it was from Alec, who insisted that she'd get one. She didn't really know how to work this thing or what sorcery it used to work, but Alec thought she should have it so she obeyed.

From Alec
{ [ Still checking out schools? I want to see you soon. ] }

Sunday couldn't help the smile, that crossed her lips.

To Alec
{Not any longer,}
{I Hate Schools}
{I will learn at home}

She didn't mean to send it all broken up like that, but she was still earning, she learned pretty quickly, before she couldn't even turn the thing on without Alec's help, and she didn't know the different between a phone call and a text, but she got it.

To Alec
{I met a teacher, she is nice, I like her a lot, she will teach me.}

She looked up at Ms. Sashi, as she was exchanging information with her father. Sunday looked at her, with a smile, and noticed that the teacher had a slight blush on her cheeks. She turned back to her phone.

To Alec
{I think she likes my father too. :) }

She found she liked the little faces with the expressions and she used them often.

To Alec
{I will be home soon}
She dropped her phone into her purse again and skipped back over to them.

"So After classes, I'll call you, and we can set things up." She said with a nod, smiling at Sunday. "I'll need to do an assessment on this one, see what she knows, just so we can skip ahead to the things she doesn't," She said brushing down Sunday's hair, with a grin and Sunday beamed. "This shall be much fun."

"Indeed is shall?" Sashi said, Sunday looked up at her father. "Can we go get the soda now?" She asked, and Sashi smiled. "See you guys later, it was nice meeting you." She said, and ducked back into her office, while Sunday looked up at her father biting her lip. She'd always forgotten.

"Um, Father, I need to tell you something, something I didn't tell Ms. Sashi." She said and looked down at her feet. "I Screamed." She said, "You didn't hear it because Grandmother, she taught me how to control...she would be very cross that I used it no mortals but they were so mean, they pulled my hair, one spat at me...so I Screamed, they fell, they're not dead though....I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done it, it was bad thing, I knew it was...." She said, and in her sudden shift in mood, she began to scratch at her arm, something she'd picked up lately, she didn't know why, but anytime she made a mistake, she scratched herself, both Alec, her grandmother and her father told her not to do it but it was a habit, she was used to physical pain after she made a mistake to the point where she did it to herself. "I'm sorry, Are you going to punish me/" She asked, her voice just over a whisper barely looking up at her father.

Simon felt immediately relieved as a grin appeared upon Sunday's lips. "Oh yes, please, I would love that!" she exclaimed, and he couldn't help but chuckle lightly in response. This was the side of his daughter that he much preferred; he enjoyed seeing her happy, it brightened his entire mood. Sunday's attention turned to Sashi, and after a brief encounter - including a hug - Sunday excused herself to go answer some text messages, presumably from Alec. Simon frowned only a little, before he focused entirely on Sashi as the woman began providing him with contact details, which he stored by pulling out his own mobile. He glanced up at her several times as they spoke, catching her reddened cheeks which instinctively brought out his most charming smile.

"So, after classes, I'll call you and we can set things up," Sashi said and Simon nodded in response, slipping his hands into his pockets. "I'll need to do an assessment on this one, see what she knows, just so we can skip ahead to the things she doesn't." He watched as Sashi reached forward and smoothed Sunday's hair, and Simon tilted his head to one side as the sight created a warmth in the pit of his stomach. He continued to watch them interact until Sunday turned her attention to him, causing him to shift his gaze back to her. "Can we go get the soda now?" she asked, to which Simon responded with a smile and a nod, before Sashi excused herself. "It was nice meeting you too, Sashi," he replied just before she left for her office.

Simon turned to leave, but Sunday did not follow and instead began talking, so he turned with one brow raised above the other. "Um, father, I need to tell you something, something I didn't tell Ms. Sashi," she began, and instantly he felt concerned, a sense of panic gripping at his chest. "I screamed," she added. "You didn't hear it because Grandmother, she taught me how to control... she would be very cross that I used it on mortals but they were so mean, they pulled my hair, one spat at me... so I screamed, they fell, they're not dead though... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done it, it was a bad things, I knew it was." Simon listened as Sunday explained herself to him, and for some strange reason, he was not cross with her, not even a little. This showed on his expression as it softened considerably for a time, before the sight of Sunday scratching at her arms again made him frown deeply. "I'm sorry, are you doing to punish me?" she asked, and he looked shocked for only a moment.

Simon reached forward, taking a gentle hold of Sunday's hand to stop her from scratching at her own skin, and while he held onto her, he also pulled her into another hug; quickly releasing her wrist to wrap his arms around her petite body. He leaned down and placed a kiss atop her head, and remained quiet for a good while before huffing. "I'm not going to punish you, Sunday," he said, pulling back a little and shifting a hand under her chin to tilt her head up at him. "You said you knew it was the wrong thing to do, and by your word as fae, I know that's true," he released her chin and instead shifted himself out of the hug, instead looping his arm through Sunday's and began walking in the direction of the nearest store. "This was a very difficult situation and I can't blame you for defending yourself. Besides, those bitches deserved it," he muttered as he glanced over his shoulder. "We'll just have to be careful from now on, and your training will be taken a little more seriously." He smiled down at her then, his eyes gleaming. "But you are definitely not in trouble, and we won't tell your grandmother about this. It can be our little secret."

Simon took Sunday to the store and picked up a good 3-4 bottles of orange soda to ration for the week, knowing that his little troublemaker had quite the taste for it, before they both walked towards the direction of the hotel, where Alec would no doubt wish to spend time with his cousin. He was still suspicious of the two, and didn't approve of their feelings for one another, but Sunday assured him that nothing was going on between the two beyond friendship and he believed her word. His little girl wouldn't lie to him even if she could, he knew this.

As they entered the hotel, where Alec was waiting in the lobby, Simon reached into their bags and took out one bottle, placing it on the coffee table. He turned to Sunday. "Now, you can have this, but don't drink it all at once, ye' hear me? I'm not dealing with you when you're hyped up on sugar," he said, using his pretend 'strict father' voice that he often brought about when he was joking around to lighten the mood. He placed a hand atop Sunday's head and pulled her closer, pressing a kiss to her forehead before excusing himself and heading upstairs.

In complete honesty, it frustrated Alec that he could not be with Sunday in that way, though he would never say such things to her or even suggest it. She had a very dark past, he knew, and she had been hurt in ways he could never even begin to understand. He was considerate of her boundaries because he loved her so dearly, but he was a young boy and he still had his desires. He couldn't help but think of her in such ways; he wanted to feel her body against his, he wanted to explore her and bring her some semblance of happiness. Though he could not. She was too fragile, too damaged, and this showed as his previous insignificant advances (the stolen kisses and slight touches) were all accepted but with hesitance and uncomfortable glances. He did not regret falling in love with Sunday, but he could almost laugh at his situation; he had not only fallen in love with his cousin, but his cousin who had been raped and traumatised and damaged beyond repair.

They sat together in the hotel's common room, with Sunday reading Alice In Wonderland to him. She seemed to be a little more relaxed since his urges to kiss and hold her disappeared, and he managed to calm his emotions enough to sit comfortably. He no longer felt as frustrated, but his aforementioned thoughts on their relationship still circled through his mind, only allowed him to focus on Sunday's reading every once in a while. He absentmindedly played with her hair, as he loved to do. She had such lovely long, dark hair. He could sit like this for a few more hours, he reckoned, before people would begin to interrupt them and ruin the calm mood.

"If we have a daughter, I want to name her Alice," Sunday began, which shocked Alec only slightly at the suddenness of the statement, as well as the suggestions behind it. "I wonder if I should spell it with an E instead of an I, that way, she could be named after you too," she continued, accompanied by one of her trademark giggles. Usually that would have struck a chord within him and put a smile on his lips, but as it was, he just stared at her, his expression was one of nonchalance despite his state of mind. He didn't quite know how to respond, but lucky for him he didn't have to think of a way, as the phone rang which distracted Sunday's attention. She told him who was on the phone and he gave her a tight-lipped smile in response, watching as she quickly exited the room. "How strange..." he murmured, shifting his weight forward so that he was looking straight ahead, his hands in his laps and his eyes moving around everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Sunday talked so openly about the prospect of children, and while Alec knew he was in love with Sunday, he never considered that they might have a stable future, that they would start a family. The dynamic was awkward; they were cousins, and the larger majority of their family disapproved of their relationship. And besides, as he had thought only a few moments before, they could even lie together yet. Her statement allowed him to believe that she was at least thinking about it too, and false hope filled him almost too quickly. His eyes fell to the book she had set down, and he sat forward so that he could rest his elbows on his legs. He smiled then, and as Sunday returned to him, he stood up, moving over to her. His hands reached out to take a hold of hers, keeping a respectful distance between them even as he placed a soft but lingering kiss on her forehead. He looked down at her, the smile still remaining on his lips, and after a moment, he spoke. "I think Alice is a beautiful name."

Simon had spent pretty much the entire day in his room, sat upon his bed with his eyes focused on the ceiling. He had been finding it difficult to sleep lately, as indicated by the darker patches of skin around his eyes. So as much as his body was begging him to get some rest, his mind was wide awake and alive with thoughts of war and family and... admittedly, Sashi. It felt as if her face managed to pop up between each individual thought, and each time a soft smile would twitch at the corners of his lips. He was infatuated with the woman, for some ungodly reason. Her blush, her smile, her overwhelming beauty, even her immediate closeness with his daughter - all of these things he adored.

There came a knock at his bedroom door, and he instantly knew who stood behind it. Nobody else really bothered him but his daughter, Sunday. "Father, are you in there?" his daughter's voice called through the door. "Ms. Sashi is waiting in the--on the phone for you." He propped himself up onto his elbows, and eyed the door for a moment, before shifting his weight off the bed and standing, quickly moving towards the door. As he pulled it open, he looked down at his daughter with a neutral expression, despite the strange sense of excitement pooling in his stomach at the idea that Sashi had finally called him. He may have been a grown man by mortal standards but he was still a boy, and he was often prone to crushes... although it was a difficult idea to process after the loss of his wife.

Simon reached and accepted the phone from Sunday, giving her a small wink and a nod of thanks before he closed the door again, lifting the phone to his ear. "Sashi," he greeted, the smile that suddenly broke out being evident in his tone of voice. He had to remind himself to be professional with her, she was only his daughter's possible private tutor after all. "I'm glad you called," he continued, before promptly adding, "Sunday has been waiting eagerly for me to discuss plans with you." He bent the truth just a little bit, of course.

Sashi could honestly, say she could have waited to call. It was only this morning that she met Sunday, to whom she absolutely fell in love with, and her father to whom she couldn't get out of her mind. As she waited on the phone for Sunday to retrieve her father. Sashi sat on the couch in the living room of her apartment, her legs curled up, dressed in only her sleep shorts and a tank, thinking of things to say. She would go with the school thing but honestly, she had to go through the school board, and other red tape before she'd be given the go ahead to teach Sunday, and keep her job at the school. This she figured would be good to explain to Mr. Davenport, or Simon as she'd learned. It was almost ridiculous at her age to have a crush, especially on a student's parent. It didn't help that he looked no older than her. How he had a teenaged daughter at his age, she would never know.

"Sashi," She jumped a bit at the sound of her name over the phone. There was a smile in the tone, which brought one out of her. Was he looking forward to her call? "I'm glad you called," he went on, and she suppressed a chuckle. She hoped he'd been thinking about her, he was never far from her thoughts, she didn't know why, sure he was handsome in a way that brought heat to her face, but she didn't know anything else about him, and he knew probably more then he needed about her. "Sunday has been waiting eagerly for me to discuss plans with you." He said and she couldn't help the deflated "Oh.." that broke from her lips.

"Oh well, I was actually calling to tell you, that it might take some time to get the school board involved, I work at the school as well, so I needed to be sure that I would be able to legally teach Sunday and she still receive her credits.." She told him and bit her lip."Uh, Yea, so, I can still um-- assess Sunday, tomorrow maybe, I would suggest the weekend but surely she's got other things she'd rather be doing, as I'm sure you do to.." She said, and unsure why, which made her think of earlier again, and how she just spewed her past for no real reason. Sure she wanted to prove a point, but she didn't know why it was so easy to say with him. It shouldn't have been, and honestly, it took her years to even talk to her foster family about s "Also, I wanted to apologize again..." She said, "for that overwhelming amount of personal information, I have no idea what came over me, "She said, chuckling nervously. "I'm not usually one for word vomit, but it just happened, a~nd I don't know why I called it 'word vomit'...cause that's attractive." She said, mentally kicking herself for the very thing she was apologizing for in the first place. Why her mouth felt the need to run upon hearing his voice, she couldn't even begin to place. "I'm gonna stop talking now." She said, and surely he could hear the bashfulness in her tone.

"Oh..." Sashi began, the disappointment evident in her voice. Simon felt a little bad about that, in truth, and wondered if he should have just stuck with 'I'm glad you called'. He sat down on the edge of his bed as Sashi began speaking again. "Oh well, I was actually calling to tell you that it might take some time to get the school board involved, I work at the school s well, so I needed to be sure that I would be able to legally teach Sunday and she still receive her credits," she explained, and despite himself, Simon nodded along as if she was stood right in front of him, though he was absentmindedly fiddling with the covers of his blanket, his eyes finding the floor while his other hand held the phone to his ear. "Uh, yeah, so, I can still, um-- asses Sunday, tomorrow maybe. I would suggest the weekend but surely she's got other things she'd rather be doing, as I'm sure you do to..." Sashi continued, and it was all Simon could do not to chuckle at the mere idea that he might have plans outside of sitting in his room, restless and worried about the war that was to come.

"Also, I wanted to apologise again, for that overwhelming amount of personal information, I have no idea what came over me," she began again, drawing Simon's attention back to the conversation. "I'm not usually one for word vomit, but it just happened, a~nd I don't know why I called it 'word vomit'... 'cause that's attractive." There was a brief pause as a grin spread across Simon's jaw; he was pretty much convinced, by this point, that he was smitten. "I'm gonna stop talking now," she added bashfully, and Simon released a very soft chuckle, shaking his head as he allowed his weight to drop backwards onto the bed, his free arm now resting behind his head. It had been the first time since Tanya that he had felt so drawn to any individual, let alone one he had only known for such a short time. It was a strange and unfamiliar feeling, but one that he was not entirely opposed to.

"It's quite alright," Simon began, staring up at the ceiling as he spoke. "I believe we are all prone to a bit of word vomit every now and again, I place no judgements." He paused for only a moment, as if to collect his thoughts. "Besides, you needn't apologise for the things you told me today, I should be the one apologising... I allowed myself to snap at you, and for that you have my sincerest apologies," he continued after a short while, shifting his weight around and moving the arm behind his head to drape it over his stomach. "I can assure you that it won't happen again, I think my daughter would wring my neck for it, in honesty." He hoped to lighten the mood a little, though he refrained from chuckling to accompany his words, and decided suddenly that it might be best to change the subject It would not do to make things awkward between the two of them before she had even gotten the chance to teach Sunday. "But anyhow, thank you for letting me know, I'll be sure to tell Sunday when I get the chance... Although, I don't know what you had in mind, but neither Sunday nor I are busy on the weekend if you need us for anything. Tomorrow is fine, however." There was a very brief pause, and a slight hesitation that came from whether or not it would be too forward to say what he intended to. "I look forward to seeing you, Sashi."

It's quite alright," Simon began, and Sashi felt herself smiling as she pulled her feet up on the couch, the phone glued to her ear, his accent was so strong when he said that, it gave her chills. She knew that people in Parkwood had many different accents, but his did something to her for some odd reason. "I believe we are all prone to a bit of word vomit every now and again, I place no judgements." He added and she chuckled. "I guess." She added, with a shrug as if he could see her. She turned on the couch, looking down at her pedicure. "Besides, you needn't apologise for the things you told me today, I should be the one apologising... I allowed myself to snap at you, and for that you have my sincerest apologies," He said, and she was quiet. She really didn't sense any hostility from him, annoyance sure but she couldn't blame him, people were always quick to say they understood when they really had no idea. Not unless you experienced it for yourself did you really understand, and he couldn't have possible known she had. "I can assure you that it won't happen again, I think my daughter would wring my neck for it, in honesty." He said and that caused her to chuckle a bit." It's okay really." She said, chewing on her inner cheek. There was a small silence then before he spoke. "But anyhow, thank you for letting me know, I'll be sure to tell Sunday when I get the chance... Although, I don't know what you had in mind, but neither Sunday nor I are busy on the weekend if you need us for anything. Tomorrow is fine, however." He said and she swallowed. She didn't want the call to end but if felt like it would be. "I look forward to seeing you, Sashi." He said and she felt herself blush. "I look forward to seeing you too." She said, not really meaning to say it so quickly, but his words made her heart race. She cleared her throat. "The assessment should be fairly quick, about an hour or two, but then maybe after we could see a movie or something." she offered and then her eyes went wide ,she had no idea what the hell she was even saying anymore. She did just ask him out? "If Sunday's not sick of seeing me.. by then." She recovered. "It'll be a good way for us all to get to know one another, and ease the academic tension, Assessments, aren't hard, but they can be stressful." She told him, trying to sound more 'teacherly' after being suh a goof just then. She only just met the guy and here she was asking him out.

"I look forward to seeing you to," Sashi replied almost instantly after he finished talking and - despite the suddenness of the comment - Simon felt the relief lifting a weight off his chest, a gentle smile pulling at the corners of his lips as he began fiddling with his shirt absentmindedly. "The assessment should be fairly quick, about an hour or two, but then maybe after we could see a movie or something," she continued. Simon was slightly taken aback at first, his mind riddled with questions. It was his general assumption that she had just asked him out on a date, but he refrained from questioning it outright. He was not opposed to the idea, but he wanted to be sure. "If Sunday's not sick of seeing me... by then," she quickly added, as if she was trying to cover for herself. He merely nodded as if it was a suitable response for a phone conversation. "It'll be a good way for us all to get to know one another, and ease the academic tension. Assessments aren't hard, but they can be stressful." Her tone of voice changed all of a sudden, and as she spoke, Simon found himself chewing on his lower lip thoughtfully. She was a hard one to read, especially over the phone.

"I understand," he said after a moment, his tone somewhere between 'fatherly' and 'casual', as he didn't quite know where to place himself after all of that. But, for the first time in a while, Simon wasn't focused entirely on Sashi or the prospect of taking her to the movies (with Sunday of course), but instead he thought about how Sunday would deal with the assessments. Sashi had already told him they were stressful, and he worried about whether Sunday would be able to cope. "Sunday adores you Sashi, truly, so there's no need to worry about her becoming sick of you... I'm just concerned for her; she doesn't deal with stress all that well, although I'm sure you know this by now." There was a slight pause as he tried to collect his words, sitting up at long last. "But yeah, going to the movies after should be a nice little treat for her... Or, if you're interested in such things, there's supposed to be a carnival on tomorrow evening. I know Sunday would like that but it's entirely up to you, y'know." Simon's eyes found the window, the smile gone from his lips but not from his tone. "It might be interesting."

"I understand," His tone was all the more fatherly, now, and professional. She actually didn't like that at all. That's how it was supposed to be yet here she was disappointed that he sounded so formal. Ot was her doing, she knew, she went all 'teacherly' it only made sense he would do the same, respectively. "Sunday adores you Sashi, truly, so there's no need to worry about her becoming sick of you... I'm just concerned for her; she doesn't deal with stress all that well, although I'm sure you know this by now." He told her, and she gave a small "mhm" in response. She was sure she could handle any thing that sweet little thing could dish out, so she wasn't worried. "But yeah, going to the movies after should be a nice little treat for her... Or, if you're interested in such things, there's supposed to be a carnival on tomorrow evening. I know Sunday would like that but it's entirely up to you, y'know." He said and Sashi smiled. She loved carnivals, it was like the perfect date place, the games, the rides, the food that was likely to make someone sick, it would be a lot of fun....For Sunday, she corrected in her head. Although, she couldn't help but think that he might have been playing the same game, feigning that it was all about Sunday, but really he wanted to go with her....Nah. "It might be interesting."

"Yea, it'll be fun, I should warn you, I'm a pretty good shot with the ball toss game, Sunday will have quite a large teddy bear for you to carry." She teased playfully, smiling brightly.

She then heard shuffling after he responded and she frowned a little, her brow raised high.
Then she heard a woman's voice loudly over the other end. "Is my big brother flirting!" Sashi couldn't help but giggle at that, though she stifled it to spare Simon. There was a small fight it seemed and then suddenly, there was a woman giggling on the other line. Sashi just sat there, with a confuse smile on her face. "Um, Hello?"
Image
"Oh my god, you sound gorgeous, Si, She sounds gorgeous, you're gorgeous aren't you?" She could kind of here Simon in the background, she couldn't make out what he was saying but he was complaining like an older sibling would.

"Um, I don't think I'm a good person to ask that question."

"Oh and you're modest too, She's modest, Si." The woman said. "I'm Symone by the way, you can call me, Sym, I'm Simon twin sister, but I'm the hot one." She said, whispering that last bit. "Oh, well, Nice to speak to you, Sym, I'm Sashi, Sunday's tutor." She said, and Symone laughed." Oh, Sa~shi, that's a sexy name, and your a teacher huh, she's a teacher, way to go Si. You're like nerdy sexy," She said with a laugh and Sashi felt herself go red, she was glad this was over the phone. "Don't worry, you didn't see his face just now, He likes you." She said, and she heard Simon once again and Symone sighed. "Okay, Simon's giving me the death glare, By~e!" She said and Sashi heard the phone being passed and Simon grumble something.

"She sounds like a lot of fun." Sashi said. "I'm so sorry" She said with a laugh she couldn't hide.

The Next Day: Tuesday, 4pm

"But I don't know it!" Sunday huffed, folding her arms, while she and Sashi sat in the common area. "I know, hunny, I know, but I just want you to try." Sashi urged. "I don't want to try, I don't like numbers, they don't make sense." SHe said, turning away from Sashi, her back to her. " I don't want to!" She shot back, tossing the work packet on to the coffee table and kicking it sharply. Sashi clicked her teeth. "You have to, and don't take it out on the table." Her tone was soft but firm. Sunday huffed again and Sashi leaned up a bit, only able to see the side of Sunday's face. For some reason the light made Sunday's dark eyes, look oddly red. "I know it's hard, but I need to see where you are, so we can work on them, so you can get better, so I can teach you better." Sashi said, unphased by her attitude. "Why can't we go back to the reading?" Sunday said, tightening her arms.
"Because you're good at it already." Sashi said with a smile. "I'm good at it?" Sunday said, turning her head, some. "Yes, You are an incredible reader, I'm not sure how I'm gonna teach you more than that.." She said, stretching the truth just a bit.

Sunday turned to her. "Alright, but I still don't want to do the numbers."

Sashi dropped her shoulders. "Look, If you do this, give this a try, then your dad said, that after we can all go to the carnival." She said and Sunday gave her a strange look. "Father said we could go to a carnival?" She said and Sashi smiled, knowing she had her now. "Yea."
"You and Father?" She asked and Sashi fought back a blush. "Yes...and You too." She said, though she spent two hours trying to find the right outfit for this, something casual but still fun and flirty, she settled for a cute comic peplum top, dark jeans, a black sweater and flats that matched her top. Nothing too fancy, but date worthy. She didn't know how long it took to do her hair and make up.
Sunday twisted her mouth, and looked down at the packet. She sighed. "I'll try." She said and Sashi smiled. "That's all I ask." She said and hugged the girl around the shoulder as she picked up the packet and tried the math problems once again.

All the while, Sashi looked around the hotel. Everyone knew about this place in Parkwood, there were awful rumors, that monsters, and demons lived in Parkwood forest, and this hotel itself was haunted.

That was not true at all. Or at least not that she saw anyway, not that she wanted to be here at night. The Hotel was creepy for sure, pulling up to this place, she wanted to nope right back out of the driveway, but the moment she saw Simon and Sunday, she didn't feel all that nervous.

"Sashi, I don't know this one." Sunday whined, and Sashi looked it over. She was having problems with basic math. What this girl must have gone through not to have learned any math at all, but was able to learn to read and read well? She was at a college level in her language, though metaphors seemed to go right over her head. Sashi shuddered to think what she had to endure. "I know, it's okay if you get it wrong, we'll just work on it later." Sashi urged her, smoothing down her hair. "But I don't want to get anything wrong..."Sunday said and Sashi gave her shoulder a squeeze. "This isn't about right or wrong, Sunday, this is about what you know, and what you don't, I want to be able to teach you things that you don't know, that's what teaching is, that's what learning is." She said and Sunday sighed and went back to the problems.

It wasn't long before Sunday finished and Sashi found that she got them all wrong, she would have to start from the beginning in math which was something Sunday was not going to like. "You're all finished for the day, okay?" She said." Carnival now?" Sunday asked with a bit smile and Sashi chuckled. "Go find your dad, and we'll see." She said and Sunday skipped off to find him.

Sashi stood up, collecting the packet and shoving it into her briefcase to review more in depth later. She then straightened herself, making sure her hair hadn't gone and done something weird in the hours that she'd seen him last, as he and Sunday walked in.

"We're all done here, she did well, we have a little work to do in the math department but other then that, she's an amazing reader, honestly, she might need some college level work there." She said with a chuckle, trying to keep herself from blushing like an idiot every time he looked at her. "Sashi said that if I finish you'd take us to the carnival" Sunday said, excitedly, bouncing a little on her heels, but then she held her stomach. "Uh Oh, Tummy troubles?" Sashi asked and Sunday shrugged which was odd but she was an odd child, bless her heart.

"I think I had too much soda, so I should lie down, but you two should go, Father can take me some other time." She said and with that, Sunday was off, leaving Sashi, with her brow on her forehead, stood there, mouth agape.

"I-..I think we've just been 'Parent Trapped'?" Sashi said, pointing in the direction that Sunday had vanished. She had no idea what to say or do with that, was it that obvious? She knew she blushed all the damn time, but what made Sunday think he wanted to. "Um, Are we gonna humor her or...?"She said, trying to sound casual about it, but it was clear she wanted to go on this impromptu but not date.

Simon had tried his best to stay out of Sunday and Sashi's way as they proceeded with the assessment's, and so he had been sitting in his room for the larger majority of Sashi's visit. With little to do, he merely tapped away at his mobile for what felt like the longest time until there came a gentle knock at his door, and Simon jumped up to open the door, being greeted by his daughter. He gave her a brief smile and allowed her to lead him downstairs, where Sashi stood; the sight of her caused another smile to appear.

"We're all done here, she did well, we have a little work to do in the math department but other than that, she's an amazing reader, honestly, she might need some college level work there," Sashi informed him and he nodded along with her words, slipping his hands into his pockets as he leaned against the table. "Sashi said that if I finish, you'd take us to the carnival," Sunday suddenly piped in, to which Simon responded with a soft chuckle, unable to draw his eyes away from the teacher even as his daughter bounced excitedly beside him. It was only as Sashi's expression shifted that he looked down at Sunday, who appeared to be clutching her stomach. "Uh oh, tummy troubles?" Sashi asked, and as Sunday shrugged in response, a sceptical expression suddenly settled on his features.

"I think I had too much sofa, so I should lie down, but you two should go, Father can take me some other time," Sunday continued, before bounding up the stairs and leaving the two adults to their business. The sceptical look on Simon's face hadn't faded for a single second, though he was now gazing at Sashi, who seemed shocked. He couldn't really blame her. "I... I think we've just been 'Parent Trapped'?" she began, giving a point that caused Simon to turn his head in the direction where Sunday made her swift exit. He gave an amused huff, lifting a hand to brush his hair back. "Um, are we gonna humour her or..?" she then asked, and Simon looked at her with a soft, albeit slightly awkward smile.

He made such a big deal over telling his sisters he wasn't moving on... that this wasn't a date and nothing was going to happen, but Simon couldn't resist himself in that moment. She was gorgeous, friendly, smart, and - most importantly - she was great with Sunday. If he found himself ever moving on, he'd want it to be with Sashi; he'd be a fool to believe he could find someone better suited for him. In this moment he thought that perhaps he was thinking too far ahead, but it still couldn't hurt to explore whatever this was. "I don't see why not," he replied with a smile. "I was rather looking forward to getting to know you, actually, and so I'm up for it if you are."

Looking towards the door and then to Sashi, Simon gestured as if to say 'I'm ready when you are' and - after grabbing his coat - made his way out to Sashi's car. "You're okay to drive, right? I'm afraid I don't know how," he explained with a sheepish grin.

It had only been a short time since he lay with his wife but it had felt like an eternity to Alex. He had come so close to losing her this time, and it scared him beyond all belief; if she ever gave up on him for good, he didn't know what he'd do... The thought sent a sudden shiver down his spine, and in this moment he was thankful that his arms were wrapped around Erieda, who always seemed to provide warmth and comfort during times like this. He wished he could be as warm as his wife, his skin as gentle to the touch, but he was cold and rigid and dead. He had no heartbeat, no life within him. The sigil made him cold as ice with all the dark magic running through his veins, but that wasn't the case anymore, and so while he was still cold by nature, the severity of which had been lessened.

Alex lay curled around Erieda, his front pressed to her back, and remained like this for a good while before he eventually propped himself up on one arm and lowered his head to place a series of soft kisses on her skin, trailing from her shoulder to her neck, where he lingered for a moment before pulling away. All the while his hand moved to her waist, aiming to turn her over onto her back. "They'll come for me, you know," he murmured, taking one of her hands in his as he leaned in to place a kiss against her jaw. "Every single one of them."

"You're my type," Daoine replied with a grin, and Kellin sat up a little straighter then, his eyes fixated on her as she continued. "It's not every day one meets a male Boabhan." He, quite naturally, found this confusing. It had not been properly explained to him what he was, he only knew that he was a rather unusual mixture of fae and vampire. "I'd heard through a grapevine that there had been an unsanctioned coupling with a Halfling Fae and a vampiress... she bore a child, and it was male. I am Fae-born Bhoabhan, my family was said to have created the Firsts, biting a human in the days of old, creating the virus that makes vampires," she continued on. Kellin felt a gentle frown settling on his brows, trying to process all the information though he was stuck on the idea that there had been stories told about his parents... about his birth. "Since then the vampires had long since shunned the Fae, and vice versa, so to find that there is a male, Boabhan... born by traditional means... This I had to see..."

Kellin felt himself tensing up a little as she leaned in, which was a strange reaction considering. The female put him on edge for reasons he couldn't quite describe, though her fae allure also made him want to pick her up and slam her against the bar. "I am mildly impressed, but I haven't had a taste," she said against his ear, and Kellin frowned. Mildly? he thought. "Not yet anyway." He watched as his drink was set down in front of him, the bartender shooting him a glance as he sat there with an attractive woman whispering into his ear while he looked like a deer caught in headlights. She moved away suddenly, and after touching his shoulder, she added, "Drink up, you're going to need it," before moving towards the exit. He looked over his shoulder and watched her for only a moment, before shrugging. He grabbed his glass and downed it one go, throwing some money against the counter before he followed.

"So wait, hold up... That's what I am? A Boabhan?" he asked, as if that was really the thing he should've been focusing on in that moment. "No one ever explained this stuff to me..." He fell into place by her side, watching her carefully.

"I don't see why not," Simon said in response and Sashi blinked, his smile made her want to melt. She smiled too, a blush reddening her tawny cheeks. "I was rather looking forward to getting to know you, actually, and so I'm up for it if you are." He said and Sashi could have died then and there. He then gestured for her to walk ahead so she grabbed her black sweater from the couch, and walked ahead, trying to hide her geeky smile behind her hair. He was such a gentlemen and he wanted to get to know her, he said he was looking forward to it. That got her hard thumping.
There were outside now, and walking to her red Prius and Sashi looked back first at him and then toward the hotel. It was such a creepy place, or at least it had been, she'd heard all sorts of horror stories about it, but now that she's been inside, seeing that it was lived in, and Simon's mother, seemed to be very particular about the wood inside, this information she got via Sunday, she saw that it was just a home, and if it was haunting, she couldn't tell. "You're okay to drive, right? I'm afraid I don't know how," Simon said, drawing her attention back to him. She smiled. "Oh, Sure, no problem." She said and walked with him to the door, and fished in her bag for her keys and soon they were off.

They drove a little while before they got to the pier where the carnival was. Sashi resisted singing along to the radio for a long while but after she'd mentioned his sister Symone, and he laughing her silliness off, she decided, why not embarrass herself a little. She wasn't a terrible singer, in fact, she was really good, it was what she clung to as a child when things were bed, she would sing to herself. She didn't tell him this. She just sang a lot to the radio, making sure to do a little bit that she actually seemed 'Not half bad' as opposed to showing off.

Finally they arrived and Simon opened the door for her as well. He was such a gentlemen, the whole time. They played game after game, Sashi playing a few out of them, the ball toss one she did win as promised, but he pretty much owed everything else. He barely looked like he was trying and at one point, he hit a streak, a people started to crowd around, a few girls were swooning a bit, not only for his accuracy and skill, but the boy was fine. He won the biggest plushie there, it was a large teddy bear, nearly the size of her. The girls that crowded around all wanted the bear and him, but he turned and gave it to her. Making her feel incredibly good, so much so that she jumped up and hugged him, to which he returned.

Sashi wasn't much of a competitor, she was the little mouse in the corner in school, studying while the others played sports, or competed for guys. She would sing but never competed.
So for Simon to do that for her, unaware that he boosted her confidence, made him all the more...amazing, he was even gracious enough to run the bear back to her car and shove it in.

After that they rode a few of the rides, a few were simple, but there was one that was pretty fast, that she ended up latching on to him, a few times. One part fear, two parts just wanting to touch him.

Night had fallen, and they were walking, Sashi was fighting the urge to take his hand, when a small old man, dark of skin, wearing glasses, and a top hat that seen better days, caught her attention, she didn't know why. He was seated at a kiosk, just him and a table and a chair, above read. "Fortune Teller." in very simple letters. It wasn't as bright and wild as the others, everything about the man was simple. He smiled at her and she smiled back. Then a strange look crossed his features before he waved them over. She was curious, if not a little nervous.
"What the hell right?" She said, looking up at Simon who looked dubious and rightfully so, but he smiled down at her anyway. "Well alright, if you want to, He said, just as dubious as he looked. She shrugged and they walked over, the man rose, a little rickety at first, but he used his cane, and gestured for her to sit. That was very polite of him, since it seemed little hard for him to get up and down. Sashi smiled, taking a seat, before he tipped his hat to Simon. "Good Evenin', What be your name?" She smiled at his accent, Simon's was attractive, while his was charming, dapper even. "Sashi, Sashi Dallas, and yours?" She said . "You may call me Linto." Sashi held out her hand." Nice to meet you, Mr. Linto." He shook her hand, she noticed his hands were rough as if he worked a lot. He then looked up at Simon, and they shared a look that was odd in her eyes, but she left it as just a guy thing. Men were weird. "Simon Davenport," he replied, standing a little taller - a little more rigid He wouldn't sit, instead he stood behind her, somewhat protectively with his hand on the back of her chair. She felt safe, which wasn't something she usually felt around men..

"Oh, Do I need like a ticket or something?" She asked, since all the other games needed them. Linto shook his head. "No, Chil' D'is one is on da' house." He said, and held out his hands for her to take before closing his eyes. Sashi looked up Simon, unsure of what to do for a moment, there was a lump in her throat, making her nervous for some reason. He wasn't a really fortune teller. She smiled nervously, glad he was still standing there. Simon smiled at her, but it didn't reach his eyes, she was a psychologist, child or otherwise. He was still dubious it seemed. She reached out Linto, and he snatched her hands, giving her a start that made her jump, squeal then laugh out loud, thinking it was part of the show until Linto's expression grew darker and darker until he looked positively grim. Sashi looked up at Simon again, and he smiled at her, which as handsome as he was, it didn't help this time. She was downright scared now as Linto's hands began to vibrate, not just shake. His eyes opened and he looked directly at Simon, after letting go her her hands, Sashi pulled them into her lap, shaking. "You will 'ave to make a choice." He said forebodingly. "Let 'er go, or let 'er die." He said and Sashi gasped "What the hell?" She spat, looking at Simon, clearly upset, and shaken, She stood up, causing the chair to groan in protest as it slid across the pavement. Linto's eyes never left Simon's and Simon didn't seem so much as scared as he was concerned. Pressure built behind Sashi's eyes. Why did this guy say all of this? Why would he ruin anyone's day with this mess. It would have been perfect were it not for this. . "You will 'ave to make a choice, but neither will end well, unless you can find me again." He said, not looking toward Sashi at all, even though it was her palms he read or whatever he did. Sashi felt tears on her face. She didn't like this, she felt panic like when her father would find that she did something wrong, that she would about to be hurt, bad. Sashi was visibly shaking now, rubbing her arms. . "You are an awful man, You say something like that to people." She whimpered. "That was cold, and uncalled for, don't want business?" Linto finally looked at her and had the never to look like he felt bad for her. . "Da trut' is cold, Chil' 'e knows d'is, for some it is all they can give." He said and looked back as Simon. Why was he blaming Simon? Why did he just tell her she was going to die, and it would be his choice to avoid all of that now, by leaving her. She didn't want that nearly as much as she didn't want to die. Simon's arm slip over her should, and wordlessly he led her away. Sashi felt her head straight before Simon stopped "Pay him no mind, guys like that just try to get a rise out people 'cause it makes them more believable," He said, before he pulled her into a hug, Sashi melted into his arm, a soft sob crawling up her throat as she held to him. "Are you going to be okay?"
She didn't asnwer quickly, she couldn't, that stirred a lot of emotions she thought she dealt with. She was cold on the inside, beneath her skin, and she would have been shivering harder if it weren't for Simon's arms around her. "That was....really messed up." She said, in his shirt,. "He told me I was gonna die, I mean what the hell?" She said and looked up at him, still firmly wrapped his form. "He told you I was gonna die?" She shook her head and looked back toward the kiosk to find the man gone. . "Oh of course he's not there anymore...." She said, and decided while she didn't want the date to end, she certainly didn't want to be here.
Simon looked back, but didn't seem as freaked out about it as she was. . "Yeah, but you can't trust anything guys like that say, he's just a crazy old man." He said. Smoothing down her hair, making her feel really warm, chasing away the cold that that fortune brought. "Do you want to go somewhere quiet? Or home?"
"I don't really want this to end though." She said, sniffing a few times, wiping away her tears. She couldn't help the warmth that continue to grow at the end of them going home, to her place. "Where else would we go?"
Simon looked around, before shrugging "Anywhere," He told her and a large grin graced his features, that for a moment took her mind from that prior mess. His hands slid down her shoulders, making her tremble for a new reason before taking her hands, which she grasped softly.. "We could go for something to eat, or we could simply go and sit in the park, we could go back to the hotel or your place and I could make dinner." That took her mind right off of things, she wasn't prepared for that, but she was not opposed to the idea.
"Okay..." She said, her cheeks a scarlet red. "How about we go back to my place then?" She asked, biting her lip at the idea of him kissing her, touching her, holding her. She cleared her throat. " Since you said you'll cook?" trying to ply it off as that’s why she wanted from him. He nodded, his eyes watched her lip and he gave her a handsome grin "Aye, I will," he told her and let one drop to the side so that she might take it, which she did as he led her to the car. They climbed in her bear in the backseat, but that was the furthest thing from her mind, the ride was short, but silently. She tried not to let that man's words bother her but they did. She didn't know what it was, but she didn't like it.

They pulled up to her street, then after parking and all of that, she stepped out of the car. She looked at the little brownstone, and took his hand, leading him up the stairs. She smiled at him, stopping at the door, her hand still in his. She was going to try something, it was not something she did often, it wasn't something she did at all, but she couldn't get it off her mind. "Simon.." She said, looking up at him,

"How about...." She bit her lips again. "You make me breakfast instead?" She said and the look on his face was priceless. He did not expect that from her, but then again, neither did she. He looked at her for a moment before leaning down, pressing a kiss to her lips. She kissed him back and she swore he tasted fresh. It reminded her of spring, and summer. She eagerly kissed him back, as he shuffled her back against the door, his one hand on her hip, the other on the door. She didn't know what to make of the sound she heard next, but she didn't care, they were in her house and he was shuffling her inside. His kiss was incredible, she couldn't wait for the rest.

Sashi was never one to sleep around, she had one other partner her entire life. So she wouldn't call herself a good person to judge such things, but she could honestly say. Simon was incredible. She didn't know how, or why, he just was. She didn't even know if she could explain what happened last night, it was that unreal.

When she awoken that morning, she found herself in her bed, the sheets and covers a tangled mess, her clothes missing, her body aching in a good way, a few love bruises on her skin, but no Simon.
Image
It made no sense, that could not have been a dream, there was no way, but he wasn't there. She took a breath and thought maybe he was making breakfast, but there was no smell of food in the air. She sighed, laying back on her pillows, her arm slung over her head.

Maybe it was a dream, maybe she had dreamt it all? He couldn't have been that good right?

Then something else occurred to her. What if it was real, it did happen....Then he just up and left. That turned her stomach, what if it was just a one nighter to him.

She groaned and covered her face for her shame. That was more likely then an explosive wet dream. Maybe she was that much of an idiot that she let herself end up in a one night stand. They'd only just met, like what a couple of days ago and she slept with him?

"Oh god, I'm such a whore." She muttered to herself as she slapped her forehead with palm. What was he supposed to think this was? It wasn't like they had time for any real feelings.

With that in mind, she climbed out of bed, and made her way to the bathroom and the shower.

Afterwards, she pulled a towel over her wet body, her wet hair full of dark curls that she usually brushed or pressed out, and began collecting her clothes. She made her way toward the living room and froze. She heard something strange noises coming from her front door. She clung to her clothes, as if somehow that would protect her from a break in, and took a few steps back as the door flung open as Simon was knelled before the handle.

Oddly enough her first thought was "So that's what that noise was?" before he looked up at her. She smiled relieved,

"You're still here?" Her eyes went wide, and shook her head. "No, no, That's not what I meant I just meant that I didn't know you were still here, I- I didn't see you leave or anything, and you weren't in the bathroom, or the kitchen so I thought you left, not in like a creepy way but like in a you didn't want to wake me sort of way, and I really should stop talking now." She said all in one breath before her mouth shut with an audible click of her teeth and an awkward smile "God, I am such a spaz"She thought before trying to ease the awkwardness with a quick and even more awkward.
"Good morning."

Simon had woken up rather early that morning; the first thing he saw was Sashi, wrapped in a tangle of bed sheets, her hair splaying every which way. She looked so peaceful, he noted, and as he looked her over, a soft smile found its place on his lips. He leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead, before slowly - and very quietly - slipping from beneath the covers, dressing himself and leaving the bedroom. The door clicked behind him as he pulled his shirt down, and he released an exasperated huff as his eyes shifted around the house. He was first tempted to begin making breakfast for the two of them, but another thought occurred to him - in his hurry the night before, he'd snapped the lock of her door clean off. She hadn't noticed at the time but she would if he didn't do something about it. He had no idea how he would go about explaining that.

It hadn't taken him long, but he still didn't manage to begin making breakfast before he heard Sashi moving around. He was kneeled by her door, both hands working to fiddle with the lock as he attempted to reattach what he'd broken off. The door opened and revealed Sashi, who smiled down at him. He returned that with one of his own, though quickly enough a soft frown settled on his brows as she began speaking. "You're still here?" she asked, and Simon's mouth opened a little, almost surprised. Was he not supposed to be there? Had she expected him to just take off? He was perhaps a little offended but didn't show it. "No, no, that's not what I meant, I just meant that I didn't know you were still here, I- I didn't see you leave or anything, and you weren't in the bathroom, or the kitchen so I thought you left, not in like a creepy way but like in a 'you didn't want to wake me up' sort of way, and I really should stop talking now." Simon couldn't help but smile, his gaze lowering as he shook his head - clearly amused. She quickly followed up with, "Good morning."

Simon stood up from his kneeling position, setting his tools down on the ground as he did so, and stepped closer to Sashi, lowering his head so that his lips could find hers. His hands found her hips at first, before he allowed his arms to wrap around her completely, holding her to him. After a moment, he broke the kiss, looking down at her with a soft expression and a warm smile. "Good morning," he replied, before his eyes shifted towards the door. "I was perhaps a little too enthusiastic last night, I broke the lock straight off... I was just fixing it, then I was going to make you that breakfast I promised," he continued with a cheeky smirk. "Full English sound alright?"

Sashi watched as he stood, her head rising to meet him. He was so much taller then her but not in an oppressive sort of way. It made her feel safe. Even as he approached, and leaning down pressing a kiss to her lips. Sashi couldn't help but let off a little whimper, especially as his hands found her hips. She wanted him all over again. Her eyes fluttered closed, as his hands moved to hold her close. Sashi melted into the kiss, as she has last night, and at the moment, he could have asked her to fly and she would. After a blissful moment, he broke the kiss, and Sashi felt silly for the way she almost followed his lips. She opened her eyes to find his gazing down at her, his expression soft, and his smile warm. "Good Morning." He told her and she felt like she was grinning like an idiot. That was a good morning kiss? She thought, still dazed from his kiss. No wonder last night was what it was.

How he was still single, she couldn't even begin to understand. Sunday's mother must have been a real bitch.

"I was perhaps a little too enthusiastic last night, I broke the lock straight off...I was just fixing it, then I was going to make you that breakfast I promised" He told her, the grin he wore made her giggle. "Full English sound alright?" He asked and she shrugged. "Uh Well....Honestly, Last night, I was just being....well, you don't have to--" She stopped herself before she started to say something stupid. If he wanted to make her breakfast, she wouldn't stop him, after last night and that kiss just now and fixing the door he broke, -how he did that and she wasn't a pile of rubble she couldn't say- he could do whatever he damn well pleased. She was glad she actually did some decent shopping. She'd been watching too much of the Food Network, thought about trying some of those meals, it was good thing she hadn't had time to screw that up. She took a breath, and smiled. "Yes, That sounds perfect." She said, her tawny face flushed red a bit as she looked up at him again. "Just like last night..."She added. "Broken lock and all." She giggled before reaching up and kissing him once again. She really couldn't help it; he was so warm, kind, and more importantly calm, nothing seemed to phase him which was nice since she fumbled over just about everything, everything scared her, except him. She really wanted to make this last. Maybe it was the linger afterglow of his kiss and the mind blowing sex from the night before, but she felt very strongly for him, she wouldn't let herself say the L word, but it was the first time she felt anything close to it for anyone.
