Description

Reality Information

Image
Name: Kana Mikami
Gender: Female
Age: 21

---Appearance----
5'4 tall, dresses more comfortable than fashionable. Often seen sporting hoodies. Scar is from surgery.

---Personality---
Kana is one of those girls you meet online that will, at one point or another, scare the fuck out of you. What may come across as witty, moody and putting a pessimistic realism before an idealistic ideology, like most people on certain message boards, will prove quite uncouth, cruelly direct in conversation and obsessive about details you forgot sharing months ago and going to ends to gather information you thought people could not gather. Insomnia and hacker hobbies do that. Kana will go to extreme lengths to for crossing or annoying her. Or sometimes out of good old, plain trolling's sake.

As you may have guessed from the outward personality above, Kana has an emotional shell as thick as the planet's crust. While she does seek out like-minded groups, it is very difficult for her to let others in (and will often distance herself from those aggressively trying to.) Those who do end up seeing Kana's heart will find a very fragile girl, unable to express herself properly, but fiercely and violently loyal to those she loves. You will learn she's quite the wiseacre and that she becomes slightly more optimistic in conversation (and actually has a moral code, albeit a somewhat twisted one.)

---Background---

Question. What happens when you, at an age of around ten, decide with your rascal little friends that teasing the old dog chained down is a great adventure, but provoke that dog to the point it manages to break free, jumps onto your rascal little friends frightening you into fleeing as fast as you can, then tears well up in your eyes blurring your vision and you run head-on into barbed wires that were the only thing standing between you and a motorway?

Answer. Bad things.

Suffering from vicious wounds as well as a blunt trauma from falling head-first on the cold, hard asphalt, this traumatic experience would haunt Kana for years. Her life was put on hold and in the meantime she spent most of her days in the hospital or in therapy. It became apparent that a lingering psychosis was driven into full force by her trauma, creating several more barriers between Kana and her life prior to the accident. It would be four years before she could return to school. A special school, for those with learning difficulties. This itself is quite difficult for a child that had shown extraordinary intellectual development for her age previously, but the high expectations her family cherished pressured Kana into further isolation. She entered high school late. Despite her furious attempts to catch up, she would come to enter university. Much of Kana's time was spent studying, and if she could no more she would study something else. Darkness brewed inside her soul and feelings she could not keep down translated into vicious behaviours. While her environment was set at relative ease considering her education, Kana's emotional and social development greatly worried them.

It was no secret that Kana had become much of a loner and had great difficulty making and keeping friends. As such, Kana required escapism and online communities offered just that. They could not see her, they could not find her, but Kana quickly learned she could get to know almost everything she wanted to know about others. Her knowledge meant great power within her escape world, where emotional arguments were void, her age was irrelevant and true colours of people showed their selves easily. They did not need to know your name, your emotions, your interests, your family. She could still become one, except that she would be... Anonymous.

This form of escapism proved greatly effective for Kana. Surely her social skills would remain lacking, but her emotional outbursts decreased (and as such was finally allowed to pick up boxing,) her interest in literature and art developed nicely, and working in groups gradually became easier for Kana to deal with. Eventually it would secure her a place in a good university, where she would study to obtain her B.A. in microbiology. It would be years before she could truly aim to prove herself to her family (as to achieving something in the field that was not related to age,) but the future did become a lot brighter.

Of course, Kana still required her safe places online. This is how she became interested in MMO's. Heine Online was especially interesting, given it's vast amount of never seen before technology. Extracting patch information, creating mods and hacks for games was something she had done for a few years, but Heine Online would interest her far beyond that. Although having applied for the beta-test, she was not so lucky to receive a pass. Or maybe her attempts to hack herself a beta-account went noticed by mister Omata Tsukari. Kana suspected the latter. The man was far more experienced in this field than she was, after all. In fact he was some kind of prodigy. As such, she was greatly intrigued by the pre-patch coding that opened up for v1.2. In fact, she was so absorbed in all the miracles of programming she could not talk to anyone in days. If Kana could have, she might have been able to warn the public about extremely alien coding with unknown purposes (and get someone with greater expertise to look into it.) Alas, she did not and remained in the game after the patch was indeed released; trapped. And as such, combined with the new protection and firewall updates, Kana wasn't able to even attempt to bypass them without logging out first. Kana's mind stepped up to the challenge; beat the game. Although admittedly... Kana did not specifically plan to clear all dungeons and get the keys to do so...

---Abilities---

Level 1 - MASTERED
Crossbow Specialisation
Type:Passive
Description – Increases P.ATK by 0.25*Agility when wielding crossbows. Crossbows have a lower rate of fire and less range than bows, but pack more of a punch, have increased critical rates and many crossbows possess armour piercing capabilities.

Level 5 - MASTERED
Roc's Stance
Type: Active (Buff)
SP: 20%
Description – A crossbow is mounted onto the ground to make a small makeshift siege weapon. At the cost of movement, Roc's Stance increases accuracy, critical chance and damage to two times their normal level. Roc's Stance drastically increases the weapon's range. This ability requires commitment for at least one post.

Level 10 - MASTERED
Wisp
Type: Active
SP: 10%
Description – Much like it's cousin Wraith, it cloaks the user and as such allows them to avoid detection. Unlike Wraith, Wisp performs better as an escape or tactical repositioning tool than an offensive one. During and up to five seconds after deactivating the skill, damage output is decreased by 25%. Movement speed and evasion on the other hand, are increased by 50%. Wisp is cancelled by attacking. Has a twenty second cooldown.

Level 15 -
Flametongue
Type: Passive
Description – Adds an incendiary effect to bolts fired by a crossbow, adding (Agility+Intelligence)/3 magical fire damage to all those vulnerable to it. Flametongue may cause DoT and Panic debuffs; the success rate of inflicting these debuffs depend on the target's resistance to fire. Immune 0%, resistant 15%, neutral 35%, weak 60%. The DoT does a total of 0.5*M.ATK spread over 10 seconds, the Panic effect lasts for the same amount of time. This debuff does not stack with itself, but repeated attacks may refresh the effect.

Level 20 -
Brynhildr
Type: Active
SP: 50%
Description – Forging magic circles in front of the crossbow, the user's bolt is amplified with mystical powers making it blazing hot and capable of burning through almost anything. Brynhildr is a burst damage skill dealing 300% physical damage with the fire element to a single target, ignoring it's defence completely (including buffs, shields, barriers, etc.)

---Character History---

Break∞Square in her first week was mostly a medium for tests (if the information she had derived from the source codes was correct.) Kana levelled her up for such purposes, testing the system, determining the damage and success calculations (and leaking them on fora where she was known by the username '???Pulse') and left most of her knowledge about the forming community void, whereas her system-knowledge rapidly increased. Break∞Square was made a plainswalker for the simple fact that anything fast was the most popular pick and being the authority on knowing about the popular class was something Kana loved to steal away from her peers. However, Heine's class and level up system had so many variables, that being the sole source of information was impossible. Heine Online had extreme levels of customisation, so Kana was not able to share much about plainswalker builds. Admittedly, she chose an unconventional one, for the sole sake of experimentation. Rather, she compared grinding to questing in experience gains, listed monster drops and spawn points, as well as various other interesting to know titbits.

However, as the game players progressed, Kana would have to increase Break∞Square her level also. After all, documenting Enchanted Forest drops quickly becomes irrelevant when everyone is grinding in the Highlands. As such, Kana worked hard to maintain at least slightly in front of the masses where levels were concerned, but hadn't bothered becoming a top player. At the time, supplying info was much more satisfactory.

This would have to change. When trapped into the game, the main point of interest became clearing the dungeons. This posed two main problems; statistical requirements and teamwork. Kana's build was heavily based off hit-and-run sniping, enabling her to pick off relatively high level enemies provided they were isolated. While plains offer a fair amount of freedom, dungeons, for as far as Kana had gathered, did not enjoy this privilege and her build would require a party to clear these dungeons. Break∞Square's role would be more of a support character as a sniper. Given that a large community had gathered in Odin, this would be Kana's first stop. She would have to find a capable party... And preferably a good knight or two in it.

So begins...

Function, simulation, it could be. Masked coding, leading to variables impossible to decipher quickly. Too many commands to understand the changes, the impacts, had he succeeded in doing what he wanted? Kana scratched her Break's head, an action that now responded with her nervous system. Curious.

Confirming the inability to log out was as simple as opening the menu. The function didn't work in the field, it didn't work in towns, it didn't work in any facility. Her peers would continue to experiment, but Kana had given up finding a convenient method of logging out. Theoretically it was possible to remove the shortcut without removing the function, but Kana's had no way to test that. Not anymore at least. Her tools hadn't been able to bypass the newly installed safety measures. The truth was that she had been getting too excited about what actually had changed in-game and wanted to try it out for herself before assessing the data more thoroughly. A notice the patching had finished was the first thing Kana had seen after waking up. Besides hair stuck in her keyboard and the drool between the spacebar and her cheek, that was. How long had she been trying to decipher the patch data yesterday anyway?

The second major subject was the so-called sense enhancement. This was a lot more interesting to test. A player would be killed if their health hit zero in-game. Kana had laughed at the idea, although nobody else seemed to get or care for the fate/stay night reference she just had to make. Kana had just witnessed a PvP match an hour ago. The loser had gone offline after his defeat and hadn't respawned since. While she could appreciate the humour behind the loser trying to scare the hell out of the winner by faking death, an hour was a long time for a joke to settle in. Similar cases were occurring all around the place. PvP matches, suicides, party members falling. None of the supposed dead players had come back online. All seemed to point at the patch notice being the absolute truth, but there were too many unknown variables to make a truly educated guess. All Kana knew was that she was strangely entertained by the concept. It was like a good horror movie. One of those that touched you on a psychological level. Maybe Kana failed to believe the patch notice, unlike most, but on her back was covered in the same cold sweat as everyone else's.

It was great.

Behind the mask she lovingly called 'Break,' Kana wandered through the city of Odin. It was probably about time she went hunting. With this many people confining their selves to the town square, the best spots would be for the picking. Kana laughed (startling various co-players/prisoners on her way,) if this turned out to be a hoax she might as well get as much as she could out of it. At least, that was what she had planned to. Somewhere behind her, Kana heard a loud voice.

“I'm looking for those who're in the right mindset to clear the first dungeon – For those brave enough, step forward!”

A girl, or guy, you never knew in MMO's, had come and stood up to rise to the challenge of clearing the dungeons. That or this was a very interesting approach to PK'ing and looting the corpses (was anyone twisted enough to have come up with a plan like that yet?) It had Kana captivated. The character that had spoken was a pretty model with white hair. Accessing player info, Kana gathered she was 'Sieghilde,' a level 18 marauder, equipped with a lance. Quite a bit overlevelled for Odin, Kana reckoned. The reactions to Sieghilde's call for arms varied. One guy even started laughing at the top of his lungs. Kana couldn't help but laugh with the stranger. She wiped a tear from her eyes (and was simultaneously awed that the system produced tears of laughter.) She then then stood on her toes, trying to get as high as possible (it was hard to be spotted when musclebound hulks of male character models around seven feet or so high were between you and the person you're trying to reach) but her hands to her mouth and yelled at the top of her lungs the one thing that Sieghilde undoubtedly would have heard sooner had the situation been any different.

“Got cleric!?”

Amanda

Cleric(10)

EXP:1/10

Gold: 2825

The Highland Capital: Odin

Game Time: 1:20AM

"Come on, you little bitch!"

Amanda's hands were clasped around a sniveling level 6's collar, something she'd never been able to do, pre-patch 1.20x. So far, she was actually enjoying this newfound freedom, even if it did mean never being able to stop playing. As far as she was concerned, it made little difference. All that mattered, at least for right now, was becoming the very best.

Like no one ever waaaas~ ...DUN DUN DUNDUN!

"It's just an update with some stupid gimmick tossed in as a publicity stunt. You're not gonna die for real, noob. You think the devs would actually do something like that? You think the government wouldn't shut this whole damn thing down if the devs DID do something like that?" She shook the Marauder around a little bit, which caused a small amount of spittle to be sent flying from his mouth and nose region as tears continued to stream down his face. "I-I don't want to die, though! Th-the patch notes said-" a sharp backhand from Amanda cuts him off. "I KNOW WHAT THE PATCH NOTES SAID!" she screeched.

Taking a deep breath, Amanda released the slobbering welp. "Look. We're supposed to clear all these dungeons in order to get out, right?"

An unenthusiastic "Uh-huh" spills out of the still-sobbing nooblet.

"So-o, why the hell are you here wallowing? Let's go get those keys!" No sooner had the word "let's" come from between her lips did the young man begin tossing his head from side to side furiously. "Why does it have to be US?! Why does it have to be ME?! S-someone else can go get them!" Teeth clenched, Amanda let out what could only be described as a frustrated growl. The last hour and change had produced nothing but the same excuses repeated over and over again.

"I don't want to die!"
"The patch notes said-!"
"Wie kann ich Web erschossen?"

Yeah. Being online past 10PM has consequences...

Turning away from her latest failure to form a group, Amanda began to head back towards the Merchant Quarter. Why? To look for someone who still had some feeling left in their spine. It seemed that the patch had removed everyone's backbone...

--------------------------

The first thing Amanda noticed upon reaching the Merchant Quarter was the sense of absolute depression hanging in the air. PKers, PvE'ers, and even the usually out-there roleplayers, all simply standing around with looks of complete and utter defeat evident on their features. It was enough to make her sick. She wondered quietly to herself whether the new patch would include vomiting, or if she'd just wake up, hours from now, in a puddle of her own bile.

The second thing(third, if you count the inner dialogue about puking) she noticed was a lone Marauder marching- not walking, marching -towards the center of the Market Quarter. Finally, someone who looked like they still had a purpose in life. Well... a purpose in the game... which was now their lives... in the game. Whatever. For the moment, Amanda was content to watch and wait to see what would happen. For a time, the Marauder, who she identified as one "Sieghilde", simply stood and stared, though her eyes never seemed to meet with Amanda's. The woman appeared to be sizing people up. Good. Maybe she was looking for a group, too.

As the woman took in breath and opened her mouth, Amanda's suspicions were confirmed.

“I'm looking for those who're in the right mindset to clear the first dungeon – For those brave enough, step forward!”

A number of players stopped to look at the woman oddly, and a handful began to blatantly laugh their asses off at her, and with good reason. Amanda's lips quirked in an amused grin. This bimbo sounded like one of those roleplaying weirdos but, at this point, it made no difference. She was level 18, and seemed to be well-equipped to tackle a dungeon or two, even if her character was dressed like a circus act. Though they were without a Knight to soak up damage for them, Amanda was confident she could keep a group alive in a pinch. Hell, all she really needed was someone who could do more than bat at the baddies with a stick... Just as her lips parted to give the Marauder the response she was looking for, however, Amanda heard another voice in the crowd.

“Got cleric!?”

Amanda's head had never whipped around so hard in all of her years... Who the fuu-?

Her eyes settled on a twiggy Plainswalker hefting around some kind of mix between a dinosaur exhibit and a crossbow. Her outfit wasn't as... extravagant as the Marauder's, but almost as ridiculous. Without missing a beat, Amanda sucked in a deep breath and sounded off with an outburst of her own. "I got your Cleric... RIGHT HERE!" Raising her staff above her head, she turned towards the Marauder who had originally spoken. "If you're PUG'ing those dungeons, I want in! Shit, I got nothing better to do, anyway, and you're gonna need someone to keep you noobs alive, amirite?" She made sure to slur the last three words together; it may have been a challenge, at first, for Amanda to keep up the smartass routine when speaking out loud, as opposed to typing, but she had no trouble rising to the occasion.

Sieghilde

Marauder(18)

EXP:4/10

Gold:620

The Highland Capital: Odin

After doing her shout Sieghilde had heard some laughs of others and felt some stares or confused looks. She took out her pipe and once again smoked it as a few people stood out in the crowd. Her eyes wandered to the laugh that stood out most to her. She then looked directly towards him (Kit) and spoke obviously in a whisper to where only he could hear it. The words she spoke seemed as if they were in his head which if you've been here for awhile is rather normal. The ambiance is always turned off and as well as surrounding sound effects.

“After examining you,I came to a conclusion I may need your abilities.I believe i have seen you during the beta phase but never spoke unless it was just a pass by moment too... either way.. Its quite late and I'm sure you've noticed how the night here feels as if it catches up to you... We could start with the easiest one first hopefully it'll go by quickly. What do you say?”

After whispering those words the sounds of the game came back only for her to hear “Got Cleric?!” which was followed by a cleric saying she was in. Her eyes once again wandered til they reached the two players. Instead of whispering them, she invited them to her group. One of these was a level 11 Plainswalker and the other a 10 Cleric. She then stood tall looking for more and giving another shout out.

“I'm looking for a few more!” Sieghilde wasn't sure how difficult the dungeon would be yet wanting more she didn't want to take the chances. It could very well be a level 5-10 dungeon with the difficulty of a level 30, which if that were the case then they may as well be counted dead. After a few seconds the woman walked away from the center and to an alley way waving towards the three to come over. She then leaned against the wall waiting for them. As she waited she thought to herself wondering how many other Gms took off and were trapped in here. She wondered if there were those like her, wouldn't they be creating a guild and going through this as well. Her mind could only seem interrupted when it came to the conclusion that they were only human and could be like any of these players including herself now.

Sieghilde remained looking towards the entrance of the alley waiting for those who followed her and to the ones she waved towards. It wasn't like her to be this social on the game yet she didn't want to stand around in fear. She obviously had a plan ready for the ones who followed her. The lancer knew for a fact that they wouldn't be doing this back to back especially how she knew dungeons were probably in different areas which travel in it self could take time. Although ideas conjured in her head, it was really up to those who followed her through that will determine if the plan will work.

Azuma
Marauder (7)
EXP: 2/10
Gold: 825

The Highland Capital: Odin

Azuma slowly opened his eyes as he was logged back in and felt that something was wrong.
This was Kenny's (Azuma) first time back on since he got kicked off by the patch that needed to be downloaded. Shortly after his quick cat nap, in which he was still very groggy from. Azuma jumped back at the sudden realization. How could that even be possible? This was just a game for god's sake! A good game. A very, very, very good game, but a game nonetheless.

Quickly and a bit shakily, the marauder waved his hand. The menu popped up with its usual quickness and was a welcomed sight. He did a quick scan of the menu's various components, trying to see what else might have changed. Most of the parts seemed alright and in their right place, with the exception that there was no log out button to be found. An sudden, exciting sense of fear gripped Azuma and he quickly mashed the area where the button used to reside but nothing happened. Biting his lip as a larger amount of fear gripped, the marauder finally noticed a new message in his usually empty inbox. It was the patch notes which read:

“Thank you subscribers for taking part in Heine Online... I do apologize any inconvenience this may cause but I have removed your function to log out, As you may have read this patch has increased your senses … to the point to where you will die outside if you die here. The new dungeons I have placed will be your only escape, 8 keys are at the end of each dungeon... know they will not reset yet... and they will not be easy... Once all 8 keys are collected, You must go to the holy cathedral and place them among the statue and only then will you finally be able to escape the world... My motives are simple yet I will not explain it to you unless you make it out...”

Kenny could feel his heart beat increase in his chest as he rolled back from the game. It didn't make sense that a game could have this much control over someone's life. Slowly he began to laugh as he thought it through. This had to be a fake patch, a sick joke of some kind because it was simply impossible for a game to suddenly take control of one's life in such a way and, as if to prove his hypothesis correct, Kenny heard a player on his PC yell out his exact thoughts in the game. Watching closely, he rolled back up to the game, slipping back into his character.

Azuma watched as the other character climb up to the forge house's roof. Once she was at the top, she proclaimed, "Listen, fellow players! There is no way that this game could kill us! And just to prove it, I will jump from this rooftop, a fall that will kill my character, but not me!" She then got a running start before jumping off the relatively high building. A single scream escaped her throat before she crashed into the ground, instantly killing her. The marauder along with several other players, gathered around the body. Each expected something, anything, to happen, but nothing did, other than the usual disappearing of the body, and with each second the space where her corpse used to be got more real. After several minutes they all, or at least Azuma, realized nothing was going to happen and that she, whoever she was, was truly dead.

Wanting to escape the grisly scene, he decided to end towards the wave gate. Since he was a good couple minutes of walking distance from the gate, the recent events slowly sank in. Every single person who was now in the game, practically had a death sentence hovering other them. But, there was one way out. If someone gathered all the keys everyone would be freed, hopefully. Though, it might just be the people who gather the keys that are set free. Either way, this wasn't a game anymore. It was a matter of life and death and that honestly made Azuma afraid. But, more than that, it gave a deadly new edge to this already addictive activity.

Nearing the gate, he couldn't help but notice the crowd gathering, with another woman at the center of it, except this one wasn't dead. Though everyone seemed to be standing around her with the same disbelieve that they showed the corpse. Azuma slowly got closer to the crowd, hearing many mumble surprised sayings. There were the usual, "she can't be serious" type deals while some gave small bits of information. By the time he reached the front of the group and was in front of the mysterious player, the marauder had gathered all he needed to know. She was apparently planning on taking the dungeons to get out of this trap as soon as possible. Not that it was a strictly bad idea, and wouldn't be if the lives weren't limited to their actual one. It was just that, well, no one wanted to die and dungeons were known as pretty much impossible unless you were super over leveled (which not a single person was, yet) or you had an army with you. But, the more dangerous it was, the more of a rush Azuma could get, and with the added bonus of only having one life, that if lost kills you, And, it would make more sense to do this as soon as possible, with the most people still alive. He then made his decision.

Before he could do anything however, he heard some almost completely mad laughing, which quickly catch the eye of several other people followed by a sudden question from one of the two culprits, Got cleric? Then the question was quickly followed by a cleric volunteering their services and the lead player, a marauder by the name of Sieghilde who was a double and a half his level, asking for others to join. But she lead the few that volunteered into an alley, out of the way. Not to be left behind, Azuma quickly followed behind. "Hey, let me in one this too."

Kit
Plainswalker(15)
EXP: 4/10
Gold: 1470

The Highland Capital: Odin

Almost immediately after the woman addressed the crowd, a player near Kit, with a lot less self control than Kit himself, burst out with a quick bark of a laugh. Eyes all around the center of Odin began to shoot in Kit's direction immediately. The other player seemed to feel the stares as well and quickly stepped behind Kit to remain out of sight. Even the speaker that had been scanning the crowd now locked eyes onto Kit (Sieghilde). Obviously the laugh had been pinned on him and there was no real way to convince them otherwise. Letting out a sigh, the sounds of the busy town center seemed to dim as the silver-haired player spoke privately to him.

“After examining you, I came to a conclusion I may need your abilities. I believe i have seen you during the beta phase but never spoke unless it was just a pass by moment too... either way.. Its quite late and I'm sure you've noticed how the night here feels as if it catches up to you... We could start with the easiest one first hopefully it'll go by quickly. What do you say?”

'Like I really have a choice,' he thought. "Might as well, he said back to her. "It's not like any of us have anywhere we need to be anymore. But I'd rather have a bit of insurance, we're going to need a---"

His sentence was cut off abruptly as a shout of "Got Cleric?!" echoed throughout the square from a different player with a rather large ranged weapon (Break). 'Well I'll be damned...' Some of these players did have a bit of sense after all. But before he could voice his opinion on the matter itself, another player spoke up just as quickly (Amanda), yelling: "I got your Cleric... RIGHT HERE!"

Kit stood amazed at how quickly the forming dungeon party had found a Cleric, and one actually volunteering to go at that. In his online MMO experience, finding any class that could heal the rest of the group was usually more of a chore than it was worth. Not to mention healing other people was sometime the most boring and frustrating job in the group. Not to mention the easiest if you had a decent party. Though....In a game that was deadly outside the virtual world, they might become the most sought after players ever.

After a moment, his thoughts were brought back to the current situation as the original player in the center of all the commotion spoke again and then retreated from all the attention to beckon the three players that had been pointed out one way or another over to join her. Deciding that he might as well go along with the other party members, Kit paused before following. He still had one matter of business to take care of first. Spinning on his heel, he drove his elbow into the player still hiding behind him, catching his character in the nose. Toppling to the ground, the player grabbed his nose and blanched at the fact that he really felt the hit. 'I might actually like this new feeling feature...' He thought to himself.

Content that justice was done at being spotted for the laugh that was not his, Kit followed the woman to the mouth of the alley and crossed his legs underneath him to sit on the ground with his back against the wall. Crossing his arms across his chest, he glanced up at the woman character again. "Any idea where the first new dungeon is? I didn't see it in the patch notes."

As he looked up, he noticed another player had walked up as well (Azuma), a male player with the look of another Marauder. "Nice sword..." Kit commented on the man's weapon.

No way, was that Amanda? The Amanda? Kana sniveled. This was just perfect. The claims of a cleric named Amanda being the best damn cleric in the game had made it far and wide, in and out of the game. Kana wondered if the cleric had read all the posts certain ex-party members had made about her on few of the Heine fora. Of course, nobody could view it now v1.2 was live, but the commotion around her painted some vivid pictures of the cleric's... Personality.

Accepting the invitation to party that popped up in front of Kana, she scanned over it's members. Two high level, close range combatants and a cleric to keep them alive, that should keep the heat off Break. Soon after another Marauder and even a Knight came to ask if they could join up. Kana smirked; this was getting more interesting by the minute. This dungeon would probably better way of killing time than than picking off single enemies solo.

“I-is this the party?”

The knight by the name of Mercutio asked, pooer dabber, he was, shaking in his boots. Mercutio didn't seem to have noticed Amanda and Break yet. Kana couldn't help herself. Break smirked and sneaked up behind the ironclad warrior. She threw her arm around Mercutio and hung from his shoulder like she was a drunk old friend of his. “Come to die with us?” Break asked nonchalantly. She tapped Mercutio's breastplate with her index finger. “That spice of heart is tough to find in this world.” Break then knocked on the armour, sending a dull echo through the plate-work.

“Hey, Sieghilde! We got our selves a knight!” Break blurted out, still holding onto Mercutio's shoulder. “A guild-member, no less!”

She turned back to the knight she was hanging on, thinking of a way to make things even more awkward for him. “Hey Mercutio, have you met Amanda yet?” Break asked, she pointed at the at the white-robed character and took a few steps towards her (pulling along Mercutio if he'd allow it) “She's our cleric. You and her are gonna spend lots of time together.”

Azuma
Marauder (7)
EXP: 4/10
Gold: 830

The Highland Capital: Odin

"Nice sword.." A fellow player (Kit) told him. He was a Plainswalker, and at least double his level. This made him feel as if he needed to go on a training montage or something along those lines. To Azuma's thoughts the plainswalker didn't look ready to attack or anything. Then again, if he wanted to, Kit would have been hidden and stabbed Azuma in the back without him noticing. Silently he cursed himself for being paranoid when the guy clearly came in due to that other marauder (Sieghilde) summons and for the mere fact that towns were considered safe zones. Though maybe with world already falling to shit, maybe it wouldn't be bad to be cautiously paranoid.

Unsheathing his massive sword, Azuma made sure to look it over. Noticing It still was as shiny as ever, and reflective enough to see his own face in it or rather his avatar's face. This only reminded him that as of now, they share the same life so there wasn't really a difference. Slowly and tentatively he drew his palm against the edge, causing a slight feeling to go through the game as if it were his own hand in reality. The marauder quickly stabbed the sword into the ground, still holding onto the hilt. The entire weapon was about 5 feet long and was as deadly as it was beautiful. It's strange handle seemed to be made for his hand But it was a game and all the characters probably had the same hand type or something, so it was entire possible it was made for 'him'.

"Yeah, it is a nice sword." He finally replied.

Without realizing it another player, a knight (Mercuito), came running up. Even through the gigantic armor, it was clear the player was scared, which just about everyone was since that damn patch and, perhaps, it make have been more disturbing to see a character come over excited. Either way, the guy looked as if he was almost bound to fall onto his face and the display made Azuma wince. "I-is this the party?" He heard his fellow player say, and before he could answer the guy another player, a second Plainswalker (Break), grabbed Mercuito, quickly attempting to talk his ear off and scare him at the same time. The Plainswalker mentioned a player named Amanda, who was probably the cleric going to be their healer. Sighing, he turned his attention back to the knight.

"Poor bastard." He mumbled softly.

Mercutio

Knight (8)

EXP: 4/10

Gold: 435

The Highland Capital: Odin

The 6'something knight jumped with fright as he felt something on his shoulder, whipping his head back and forth so he can find, through the slit of his helmet, a pink-haired woman that he hadn't seen before hung loosely from it. Dressed in what could only be described in a weird mix of prehistoric with the decorative bones in her hair, Renaissance through the corset she wore, and modern through the oversized ivory belt and skirt she wore (not counting Egyptian with the weird pink cloth wrapping around her legs). Kyle could call it Mongolian. "Come to die with us?" Break asked him ever so casually.

Mercutio was a brave man, he knew the difference between right and wrong, slayed monsters big and small, and protected those closest to him. The knight was strong and confident but all that went to shit. Kyle turned his head off to the side, away from Break, giving off a nervous "uhms".

“That spice of heart is tough to find in this world.”
"T-thanks." Kyle sputtered as his armor clanged with a tap of her armor, before being taken back as Break shouted back to Sieghelde, that Mercutio was indeed a guild member, and pulled him along.

"But my guild's offline, and I'm waiting for the In Game 24 hours to pass so I coul-" Then the knight halted, unintentionally yanking Break in the process. "Wait, did you just say-" Through the slit of his helmet, he could see her, the cleric.
Amanda.

There were four people on Mercutio's blacklist:
One of them was a white supremacist, "EyeOfAdam" an extreme yet persistent lvl 11 plainswalker racist ass, who harassed the knight for half a week before being blocked to join his now ever so discreet guild: "TheLuLuxLan".
The second was a woman, "Lillalo" but Mercutio was pretty sure it was an male 50-something or other, because of the over-all creepiness she seemed to exude from her. The lvl 7 cleric continuously asked for naked pictures when Kyle told her his real age. Stalking ensued before Kyle reported her to the GMs and Blacklisted her.
The third was this guy, "Kefkala", who's sole purpose in the game was to piss Mercutio off. He never even bothered to level up, was and probably still is, a lvl 1 Marauder, who just went and spewed insults on a 24/7 basis for about three days before being blacklisted.
Then, there was Amanda. And she was at the top of the list.

Not she was more worse then those mentioned above, Kyle just liked everything to be in chronological order.

Once upon a time, in a small party of three, just goofing around and slaying monsters not in a rather serious matter, the "best cleric in the world" came up to them, ever so crass, calling them "N00bz". Somehow, don't ask them how or what internet sorcery she used, the party was convinced that they absolutely NEEEDED Amanda, even though one of the guys was already a cleric.

So that's what happened. And she was good. Matter of fact, the team made it Odin and half-way to Tyr with a "gang up on one monster" tactic coupled with going through the path of least resistance. The only problem was, it stopped being fun after half-an-hour, feeling more like a tedious job, repeating the same tactic over and over. People had jobs and their own routine, if they wanted to repeat stuff over and over, they'd stick to their everyday normal life. This was supposed to be their escape, where they could hold up a sword, pseudo play-act, and just do what they want. Amada would have none of that and we were started to be convinced that we didn't really need her, so with a couple of whispers, they did the most reasonable thing.

Stripped their armor, clothes, and ran in three different directions like a suicide party on mushrooms.

Long story short, the three of them died and respawned, Amanda was pissed, and the collective trolling effort needed to blacklist Amanda to keep from her angrily messaging them or tracking them down. Rumours were spread but they were rumours among rumours, which boiled down to: "She made three players go bat-shit crazy".

"You and her are gonna spend lots of time together."

"A-Amanda? The greatest cleric in all of Heide Online?" Mercutio sputtered for a moment before talking clearly, his lips twitching to a less then convincing smile, silently glad he was wearing a helmet.

He took one knee, thought he might be overplaying it, but decided to go with it otherwise, keeping his head down as he did so in a knightly manner.

"It shall be a great honour to be in your presence."

Whether he liked it or not, this was the only cleric of the group, the only cleric willing, either brave or crazy enough to go through with going death-or-life trials. If she recognized him, even after he changed his low level armor and weapons, it'd all be over.

If there was a choice between keeping the knight or the cleric, it was going to be the cleric, no doubt.

If there ever was a good time to kiss ass, it was now, and hoped she didn't remember who Mercutio was.

Amanda

Cleric(10)

EXP:2/10

Gold:2330

The Highland Capital: Odin

As Amanda accepted the party invite, she began to saunter towards the alley their "fearless leader" Seighilde was headed down. Even as she made her way there, she could already see at least half a dozen other players clammering behind her and the others, and the list of players in the party steadily grew.

[Party leader] - Sieghilde - Marauder(18)
Kit - Plainswalker(15)
Break∞Square(what a stupid name) - Plainswalker(11)
The Great and Powerful Amanda - Master Cleric(9001)
Azuma - Marauder(7) - n00b
Mercu-f02ifjm09dunv ph 93udfn

Amanda stopped dead in her tracks just outside the alley, her eyes scanning everything in front of her. Where was that mother fu- there... Sure enough, there he was. He looked slightly different since the last time she had laid eyes on him, but there was no mistaking him. Mercutio. Level 8 Knight and first-class jackass.

Son of a bitch.

Amanda took a deep breath and resumed her pace, listening as the various prospective dungeoneers introduced one another and got in a few playful jabs. Just before Amanda could come within chok- arms length of Mercutio, however, the dino-bow-weilding Marauder, Break, had her arm around him, swaying this way and that and, boy wouldn't ya know it, she would wheel him RIGHT around towards Amanda.

“Hey Mercutio, have you met Amanda yet?”

Oooooohh, BOY, HAS HE!!

“She's our cleric. You and her are gonna spend lots of time together.”

-Quality- time...

Even from behind the tin can he wore on his head, Amanda could SEE the gears frantically turning in that little prick's head as their eyes met(well, she could only ASSUME they met, since she couldn't actually SEE his eyes, but... whatever). She knew damn well that HE'D remember HER, but she couldn't decide whether or not she'd let on that his name was still one of several on her shit-list, but her grip on the staff tightened slightly as she contemplated rapping it across the Knight-n00b's bucket.

"A-Amanda? The greatest cleric in all of Heide Online?"

Oh, yeah. Go on, let's hear some more of that. Before Amanda could make a decision, let alone open her mouth to reply, the 6-foot-somethin' armored behemoth fell to one knee, creating no small amount of noise in doing so as the plates that made up his ensemble clacked and clattered together.

"It shall be a great honour to be in your presence."

Amanda blinked several times in rapid succession. For once, she was actually taken aback, left speechless and unsure as to how she felt about this latest development. Now THIS, people, is how you suck up. Take notes. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Amanda looked up at the other's in the group, with the "wtf" look on her face, before looking back down at Mercutio.

"You planning to propose to me or something?"

Sieghilde

Marauder(18)

EXP:6/10

Gold:630

The Highland Capital: Odin

After inviting the few remaining people into the group (Kit, Azuma and Mercucio). Sieghilde formed a fist moving to the exit of the alley but only stopping at the end. Her eyes examined the people in the middle of the Merchant's quarter before speaking. One to make sure no one else was coming and two a habit when in thought. Her head tilted towards her party members examine each other their levels and equipment. After that she looked towards Kit who had asked her question about the dungeons and then nodded to him. The lancer then gave a loud clap to silence the bickering among the members. She didn't care who anyone was or what problems they had before, personally in a situation like this – she could careless.

“Listen up “ She started as she pulled out her pipe to begin smoking it. “I don't know who any of you are and that's normal in a MMO. We come on, we play and get acquainted without knowing our true faces times like that are over for this game. I'm not speaking as if we're going to become family in one day or one dungeon run but what I am saying is that If this goes successfully – I intend to create a guild shortly afterwords. Casting this shit aside..” She pipe suddenly disappeared obviously going back into her bag a smoker cough escaped her but didn't stop her to lose any composure.

“I figured we'll start in Heine and we'll travel on foot through the areas. If any of you has been in Heine or the whispering plains recently speak up. From explored areas and unexplored there are nine areas excluding safe zones on this continent... and three which we're far from and that is on a Island which we're not ready for. In my thoughts that leaves me to believe that every region has two dungeons. I believe we'll start in Heine first just due to it being a starting area, we may as well explore the whispering plains first. So like I said before if any of you have been in Heine recently please speak.”

Sieghilde's eyes then back towards the Merchant's quarters as her arms folded. She stood looking around with her eyes only to see if anyone was coming. The lancer didn't know if all of what she said was necessary for everyone to hear but she didn't care. She was however interested of those whom may have just came from Heine. The formation of the dungeons seemed logical but the woman wondered if it were true. She also hoped she wasn't making the mistake of marching openly to death with these members. The man wouldn't be that cruel to create the dungeons to be a set high level would he? She shook her head to herself and spoke gently hoping no one heard her “no...”. Had she not met Omata himself, she'd be calmer. Sieghilde examined Mercutio the Knight. It was only natural that she'd have a little more defense at this point and she may have to do the heavy tanking at first but later levels... He'd definitely have to take over.

Sieghilde had a plan conjuring in her mind for what would happen later but rest would definitely be needed after this dungeon. The night will eventually catch up to them and being fatigued while fighting wont go hand in hand. Especially in a game of life and death...

Kit
Plainswalker(15)
EXP: 6/10
Gold: 1230

The Highland Capital: Odin

By time the marauder he had spoken to finally answered back, Kit had nearly lost all interest in the sword. The man had put on way too much of a display, unsheathing it to marvel at its' sheen before driving it into the ground, for himself to hold interest. A thought occurred to him at that moment as well and waved his hand to view the player's data. He felt Kit's face blanch at the man's level. Less than half his own level, and nothing special other than his sword. He never minded helping out lower level players before, in fact he liked it in a way, but this was a new game. There was more at stake than just losing progress in the game now.

Scanning the other players as well, Sieghilde was the only other one of them so far that beat him out level wise, and the other Plainswalker nearby wasn't too terribly far behind. The crossbow she carried was more of a comfort as well, she could always just hang back and let himself and Sieghilde engage any enemies head on. The Cleric however.....He had heard of the player named Amanda of course, and wasn't exactly impressed. Alot of players hailed her as the best Cleric in the game. He severely doubted that fact, having never run with her to know for sure. But the main job of a support role was just that, support. To make the job easier as much as possible. This particular player seemed to cause more trouble than help from what he'd heard.

As the other Plainswalker, Break, began teasing a new Knight that appeared, Kit scanned over his data once he got closer as well. Another low level player, and with defenses equal to or lower than Kit's own. That wasn't a great sign. If this player joined them, they would no doubt have to carry him quite a bit before he was any true use as a Knight in the group. Closing the depressing sights of the menu, Kit released another sigh, beginning to doubt his choice of joining this group. He watched on and felt Kit's eyebrow shoot up at the scene of the Knight kneeling in front of the Cleric. 'What the hell?' He thought to himself.

Sieghilde finally broke the droll scene to attempt an answer to his earlier question.

'A simple no would have been easier to say....'

Coming to his feet finally, Kit stretched and let his hands come to rest behind his head. "Well," he began, addressing those around him, "We're just wasting time sitting here. We might as well get out there and at least find the damn place. Beats doing whatever the hell he's doing over there." At his last sentence, he gestured toward the Knight kneeling down in front of Amanda.

“Easy quests for moderate EXP. Grinding's cheap, but slow as. All monsters can be summed up as okay HP-to-EXP ratio with weak spawn. Good place to get acquainted with the game, but that's about it.” Break quoted her own guide, not sure if anyone had read the area assessments she had posted on the fora, but subsequently didn't care much. “We've all been there, one point or another, but since the patch? Heh.” Break grinned sheepishly, “What do we look like, level three?”

Sieghilde's plans were iffy at best. These dungeons might as well all be placed in the outer rim of the highest level areas. There was absolutely no way to confirm their location with what information they had (and challenging the collective playerbase with eight dungeons designed for low level areas made no sense from a designer's perspective.) Then again, nothing made a whole lot of sense in v1.2 and there was also no place best suited to start looking anyway. They might as well start somewhere. Break shrugged it off and just tagged along. She slapped the back of Mercutio's helmet “Move along white knight, courting damsels can wait.”

Break quickly glanced at Amanda's expression, which was priceless. Either Mercutio had a thing for blonds that made him extra nervous, or the two of them had met before. Shaking her attention from the support division for a minute, Break made a quick comment at Azuma, one of the two members of the party she hadn't talked to yet. “Don't go forgetting that,” She pointed at the blade he had stuck in the ground, giving half a thought to whatever that was good for. “You might just need it.”

Azuma shook his head as he watched the confrontation of Mercuito and Amanda. It looked as though Amanda wanted this to happen but Mercuito seemed to take the fun out of it by doing the kneel that a knight might do for a queen. Which from Azuma's point of view looked as if it stunned the cleric in words. This moment only lasted until Sieghilde spoke out to take charge.

I believe we'll start in Heine first just due to it being a starting area, we may as well explore the whispering plains first. So like I said before if any of you have been in Heine recently please speak.”

The plan made sense, and might make Azuma important. After all, his first week or so of playing involved exploring that area to no end. Though, before he could say so, Kit had spoken.

"We're just wasting time sitting here. We might as well get out there and at least find the damn place. Beats doing whatever the hell he's doing over there." This also made sense to the Marauder. The only thing that was going on was that the knight was probably thinking about getting the hell out of here. Yet this could be because side effects of being early morning when most of us would be asleep. The patch came out at midnight which was only a hour and a half ago. t could be said that they were running off adrenaline.

“Easy quests for moderate EXP, Grinding's cheap, can be faster but slow as hell when alone. All monsters can be summed up as okay HP-to-EXP ratio with weak spawn. Good place to get acquainted with the game, but that's about it.” As soon as those words were said, Azuma knew he heard them before. Though he didn't figure Break or anyone that he'd meet in the game would turn out to be the one to say it and he knew it to be wrong. The Plainswalker turned to make fun of Mercuito again, before rudely reminding Azuma to make sure to grab his sword.

The marauder yanked his blade from the earth with a lot more force then was needed. He then returned the bastard sword to its sheathe on his back, and walked towards Sieghilde. On the way he bumped into Break, not completely purposely since the alley wasn't the biggest and he rather not get between Amanda and the knight.

"Actually, there is an entrance to a cave on the plains. On one of the few hills, there is a small passageway carved into it, but moss and grass cover it. Few people go there since some strangely strong, well strong when compared to the start of the game, guard the area around it. Also the entrance isn't the easiest to find." He spoke before Smirking, the marauder leans back against the wall, feeling a slight boost of adrenaline since he made someone look like an idiot.

Mercutio

Knight(8)

EXP:6/10

Gold:440

The Highland Capital: Odin

How did knights do this? The stupid slit in the helmet could only see the cobblestone floor and didn't have air holes for Mercutio to breath fresh air, making it disgusting to breath, and the ever so awkward silence as he waited for some sort of response as he took a knee. This amount of kiss-assery had to be worth it if Amanda said anything but, "Kick this bastard!". Well it was.
Sorta.

"You planning to propose to me or something?"

"No way in hell!" is what Mercutio would have said if his life did not lie in this woman's hands. There was even more awkward silence as Mercutio tried to find a polite response between Not a chance, which might(?) piss her off and anything resembling an affirmative surely would have creeped her, then told the group to kick him otherwise. In the midst of thinking there was a loud clap and it was enough to turn the knight's attention to Sieghelde and take in her words.

She was right in the fact that they were strangers but she was, in what polite language Kyle could think of, absolutely fucking insane. When they do get out, it doesn't matter why, how or when, but he was gonna get as far away from Heide as possible. Smash the hardrive, kick in the monitor, tear up that little mouse computer thing, just destroy it from his life. No way in hell was he going back.

Still, eight dungeons in total, two in Heide, and Heide was the destination. Mercutio knew Heide inside and out but the only problem he had was standing right in front of him. In a whisper, she spoke to Amanda in a less then steady voice, only she able to hear it. "Please don't make them kick me. I just want to get out of here. Please."

"We're just wasting time sitting here. We might as well get out there and at least find the damn place. Beats doing whatever the hell he's doing over there."

"Eat it, Kit-Kat." Mercutio angirly thought to himself, grinding his teeth as he did so.

Break∞Square's quip about no-one being in Heide since level three went over his head, it would have been at the most, insulting on a normal day but none of these days were going to be normal, were they? A smack of Mercutio's helmet caused him to jump, then wince as the sound echoed in his ears.

“Move along white knight, courting damsels can wait.”

With that, Mercutio stood up and turned halfway, half listening to Azuma, half listening to the response he got back from Amanda.

"Yes." A pause before he turned to the group and away from Amanda. "I know the same one but it's like a secret spot with loot and I think it was there before the patch." He turned to Sieghelde. "More importantly,There's a big tower poking up from the plains, so I imagine that's one of the first dungeons-" Mercutio yawned out of genuine tiredness, the game's night wearing down on him, breathing in his own sickly breath. "-and since there's nothing else on the plains, the next dungeon ought to be in the forest." He hoped so. It'd be so much better then dealing with those cave spiders.

The knight paused for a moment, looking down as he did so, before continuing. "It's bad in Heide."

"Please don't make them kick me. I just want to get out of here. Please."

Oh boy, oh boy. This quest just went from a check minus to a check plus.

As the Knight rose from his kneeling position to address the rest of the group, the hook of Amanda's staff would catch on one of his pauldrons, possibly causing him to lean backwards as she came -really- close to him, her lips inches from his ear(or the hole in his helmet where his ear was SUPPOSED to be), though this was more for show, since she was whispering him directly to keep anyone else from hearing her words.

"You listen to me, and you listen good, nooblet. The only reason you're even still in this PUG is because we're gonna need someone to take our licks for us if we want to stand any chance of getting through this. Your name has been at the top- the absolute TIPPY top, mind you -of my list for the majority of this past week, so you'd better be at the top- the TIPPY top -of your game because, mark my words, there are at least one-hundred other Knights out there, and I'd wager more than a few would be better equipped than the snot-nosed dingle berry that you've shown yourself to be thus far. You've got a LONG way to go towards earning my respect, and that's a LOT to say when I'M the one who's literally holding your LIFE-" She would tug on her staff forcefully to emphasize the word -life-, "in my hands..."

Amanda leaned ever-so-slightly closer. "If you so much as forget to put on your helmet while we're instanced, I might just forget how to shot web."

Unhooking her staff from the man-boy's armor, the Cleric casually stepped around Mercutio. "I'm all for doing a bit of scouting before we set up camp, but I'm sure at least a few of you aren't on the same level I am when it comes to all-nighters." She planted the end of her staff on the ground, lacing her fingers together on the inside of the hook. "So, whatever we decide to do, we need to do it -right- now, before we gotta worry about what happens when a player combat logs eye-ar-el(IRL)."

Sieghilde's head turned towards the group as Kit replied back. Although blunt which personally Elisabeth admired, he was quite correct. It was late and what was going on here among the group was silly to her. Excluding that, she could tell Break was too sure about her plans explaining the obvious about the area. Yet in a way Sieghilde thought it was also logical. What would be the reason to place a new dungeon in a low ranking area such as that... Areas in this game didn't exactly have a level range but it did have difficulties and if anything was easy it was definitely that area. All of this would make sense as the lancer thought placing clues together. Suddenly the other Marauder spoke. He mentioned the cave entrance among the hills which she personally saw before. That was no new content, in fact there was a quest for that area. Although it was for a low level boss spawn... it was definitely used.

Sieghilde turned her body completely towards her group although her reply was directed towards Azuma. She spoke it out loud so everyone could hear it.

“Unless you did the quest which some of us have, you'd remember that the area was used as a boss spawn. It occasionally drops a weapon of your type for level 5's yet its very rare. The quest drop isn't so much...”

Suddenly Mercutio spoke, Sieghilde didn't exactly notice when he got up from his kneeling towards the Cleric but it didn't matter what he said caught her ear definitely. Perhaps even gave the mark of where they'd go.

“I know the same one but it's like a secret spot with loot and I think it was there before the patch” which the man in armor spoke directing it to everyone. He suddenly turned to the white haired woman. Mentioning the actual key. “More importantly, There's a big tower poking up from the plains, so I Imagine that's one of the first dungeons-” He was interrupted by a yawn before continuing onto information and thoughts upon the next dungeon. Amanda then began to speak trying to sound high and mighty. Sieghilde snapped her fingers towards her which she was quite good at doing. The snap was rather loud but it does what it needs to. Her eyes then looked towards Amanda at first then to the rest of the group. She did it in a way to silence her due to her attitude among them. Sieghilde has dealt with many people like her although on different subjects or often tolerates them yet she didn't want everyone to start off on the wrong foot with each other. She suddenly spoke afterwards.

“I agree with all of you. Unfortunately we are doing this late... and timing may catch up to us depending on how use you are staying up... Everyone, lets move to the wave-gate and teleport to Heide. We'll then immediately leave once we all assemble there. Once you teleport to Heide, meet in Kingdom's square.” With that said the lancer turned around towards the exit of the alley and walked out once again into the crowd of people. Most of them at this point just looked exhausted... walking away from the merchant's quarter... Sad to say a few laid down against crates near shops and fell asleep. This was a bit expected seeing that no one could really afford player housing at the moment. Sieghilde yawned as she passed the district making her way towards the wave gate at the southern gate of Odin. It didn't take her long but she managed to get there raising her hand to it she spoke the obvious words and teleported away.

“The Plains Capital: Heide!”

The Plains Capital: Heide

Sieghilde opened her eyes... noobies of course were in sight but most of them like Odin remained curled up somewhere among the streets or so as if they were homeless, which isn't entirely false. Her eyes traveled the among the capital before spotting in the west, the tower Mercutio mentioned. This was indeed a new sight, It may had been quite sometime since the lady stepped foot among this region but she did remember for a fact that the tower wasn't there before. Let alone in Elisabeth's mind the tower was either close or this dungeon may prove to be quite a travel up. After being in thought, she wasn't quite sure if any of her party members were behind her when she pointed directly towards it.

“In the west – This is indeed a new sight...” She said softly. It only made her sigh thinking about how many people may have started upon the release of this patch and figured it'd be a safe area. Her eyes didn't move as she examined the tower until she came to crave another whip of her pipe which she quickly took out and used.

“Hopefully it won't take us too long to get there...” she said quietly not sure yet not caring if anyone heard her.

The Highland Capital: Odin

While she listened to the scene between Amanda and Mercutio with her eyes closed (no way, was he really begging her not to get him kicked?) the marauder (Azuma) barbarically forced his way past her. Apparently cocksure to make an impression on their leader (could be a dude, Azuma, could be a dude) he spoke about a 'really hard to find' cave.

“Argh...” Break moaned. Of all people, Azuma challenged her? She, who had charted and documented the entire area inch by inch, and he came with that... A cave of all things, trying to one-up her? “Do you even know what the word plains means?” Break groaned. Kana's impression of the marauder turned more colourful by the second. Break shook her head and sighed, “If you found a cave you were at the border of the Enchanted Forest area. Spend more time looking at your UI instead of that sword.”

Mercutio tuned in to speak about the cave, as did Sieghilde (under the delusion finger-snapping was a good way to shut a group of tweens up,) but as it turned out Mercutio had actually been in Heine recently. More importantly, he spoke of a tower... Well, that was one good clue to work of. Sieghilde's gut got lucky, Kana thought, or was there an actual method to her thinking? Maybe she knew more than she let on. Amanda talked about scouting the area, something about an all-nighter. Pfft, all-nighter. Kana had just woken up.

The Plains Capital: Heide

Stepping into a breath of fresh air, which was a welcome change from Odin, Break arrived in Heine. Otherwise known as beggars everywhere. Surprisingly they were gone far and wide. Sieghilde was quick to point out the tower Mercutio had mentioned. Like the marauder, Break summoned a pipe of her own and knocked it softly against Sieghilde's, “Share a light, fearless leader?”

“Definitely a new sight.” Break mused, opening her UI to write down a note about it. “By the way, Amanda,” Break suddenly turned to the cleric. “All-nighters are my bitch.”

The Highland Capital: Odin

If Sam could take off the virtual gear and figure out what was really going on with his body in the real world, now would be about the time he started slamming his head on his desk. It awed him at how egotistical and irrational people could get, especially in a situation like this one where they all needed to be on their A-game. It was common knowledge that personalities often clashed in MMO's, what with everyone trying to be better than everyone else. 'Welcome to your new world,' He thought silently. 'The only real alternative is just die and get it over with...' But that was out of the question. Sam actually had a life outside this game, and he wasn't going to throw it all away just like that.

Yet scanning the group before him, it would be quite a while before they made any real progress with the way every comment was met with another derisive one or some other conflicting remark. Their newest arrival, Mercutio the Knight, acted like he was going to wet himself every time anything was directed toward him. Not exactly an appealing trait coming from someone who was supposed to be the frontrunner in a party. Just listening to their Cleric, Amanda, made Sam want to rip out all Kit's hair and strangle her with it. The person they were going to all have to rely on in the near future. Break, the only other Plainswalker in the group, at least had a bit of knowledge of the areas they would be traveling through, yet it seemed to Sam like she thought her information was infallible even thought it was obvious it wasn't updated for the new patch. Azuma, on the other hand, Sam just wasn't sure about. He seemed overly proud of a sword that was really just a piece of virtual junk that could be beat out at higher levels. It made Sam wonder at the guy's priorities.

Sieghilde on the other hand, at least had a plan. Even if it wasn't the greatest. It couldn't be helped though, even a mediocre plan was better than none at all. Though, Sam couldn't help but notice she was a bit prone to long-winded answers that never actually answered the original questions asked. At least she was trying. “I agree with all of you. Unfortunately we are doing this late... and timing may catch up to us depending on how use you are staying up... Everyone, lets move to the wave-gate and teleport to Heide. We'll then immediately leave once we all assemble there. Once you teleport to Heide, meet in Kingdom's square.”

Kit let out a grunt at finally being able to go do something other than stand in an alley going back and forth over ideas. Maybe spending time around other players was starting to grate on his nerves. He was used to soloing and one on one situations, partying with others was something he tried to avoid if possible. Regardless, he made his way to the wave gate without a word, observing the other player openly sprawling out on the sides of the path.

“The Plains Capital: Heide!”

The Plains Capital: Heide

Arriving in the starting capital, things were hardly the same as back in Odin. The were many more players here than in the previous capital, and more of them littering the streets getting some rest. Kingdom's Square wasn't too far away, but the main street leading to it was in plain sight, and that was something he'd rather avoid in this area. This definitely wasn't his favorite place due to past relationships, and passing through unnoticed was always the best idea.

Using alternative paths and streets, Kit made his way quickly along the familiar shadows out of sight as he made his way to the Square. When it came into sight, he stopped where he was to scan the area. he spotted Sieghilde immediately and Break not too far away. He made his way easily enough to them and stepped up and spoke. "It's probably best if I don't stay here too much longer," he told them, trying not to look too terribly obvious as he scanned the people nearby for any of the familiar faces of the old 'Lightweights'. "I'll go on ahead, that tower seems the obvious choice. I'll wait for you guys there."

Kit began to step away without an answer or approval from the others when Sam made him turn back quickly. "Don't worry about me, I'm the fastest one here by the looks of things, and I'm more comfortable alone anyway. See ya there!"

Turning from them once again, he made for the edge of the city and headed South, where the tower loomed ahead.

Amanda's words were equal parts terrifying and maddening. All that prevented Mercutio from punching her in the face(Whether or not Amanda was a girl she still deserves it) was that pesky thing called being a cleric and being inherently more useful to parties. The knight ground his teeth a bit while steadily breathing to bring himself to normal, Sieghelde snapping her fingers in a disgusting sound to keep everyone quiet.

They were going to Heide and to meet in the kingdom's square, Kyle's eyelids starting to apply weight, silently pleading to be shut.
"The Plains Capital, Heide." The knight whispered to the wave gate before the light enveloped him for a brief moment.

Area Name: The Plains Capital: Heide

"Excuse me, but do you have something?" The begger asked the tall knight in grey armour. He was a lvl 1 plainswalker, dressed only by his underwear, the only part of the game that wasn't sellable. Mercutio looked at him through the slit of his helmet before quickly looking away, hoping that if he closed his eyes he might just dissappear.

"Please, anything." The man was on his knees now and Mercutio made the mistake of looking back at him. There was awkward silence before the man looked down and started to back away.

"Here." Mercutio said, his red cape in gauntlet, that made it's way to the man's hand. The man wrapped it around his body before looking at Mercutio once again but the knight already turned away from him and began walking to the square.

Everyone was crawled up along the streets of Heide, either trying to sleep on the ground, or for the minute few, actually sleeping. Mercutio tore the helmet off and held it for the meanwhile in his hand, the mature face of Kyle's shown, the sweet relief of air hitting his face almost euphoric. The knight saw the others, namely Break and Sieghelde smoking, and thought to chide them for the moment, as well as Amanda and Azuma before Kit shouted something off to them and bolted the other direction.

"The two of you shouldn't smoke you know," Mercutio said as he approached them and before letting them comment/shout back, said: "Where's he going?"

Azuma
Marauder (7)
EXP: 8/10
Gold: 840

The Highland Capital: Odin

Biting his lip, Azuma began to feel like the biggest idiot in the group when Break clearly attempted to bash his spirit by showing her somewhat impressive knowledge of common sense. He didn't care how right she was, stating the obvious yet both Mercuito and Sieghilde proved his information to be right. Even if to only to say that his hypothesis about it was completely wrong. Once again, he didn't two damns who was right. Honestly, the marauder could say the same thing about every single member of their little party. Their knight was shaking in his boots after just meeting their cleric, Amanda, who well, was one of the most self absorbed people he ever met in his life. Usually he assumed that clerics or any healer were supposed to be nice since they spent all their time helping people, guess he was wrong. Kit, the stronger of the two Plainswalker, seemed a bit stand-offish and that was the nicest way he could think of putting it. The other one, Break, was clearly in a race with Amanda to figure out which one was more annoying, with the Plainswalker at least being a bit more open minded about who to make fun of. While Sieghilde at least somewhat decent yet that simply could be when you compare an average person to a group of assholes, that one person seems like a holy saint.

As members of their party left, Azuma followed slowly behind, starting to regret all his decisions on his day. Well it was better then being one of the people who were crying on the side of the street and curling up into balls that were practically littering the streets. Though not much better. Hell, it was probably worse since they didn't seem to have a giant chance of death since they were just lying in the streets. Hopefully at least some of those players would gather their senses and help somehow. But, if you judged them on how they were acting now, it seemed very unlikely that they would even attempt to do anything other than sit and cry, begging for their mothers.

Sighing, the marauder stopped watching the weeping and useless players, figuring there was no rule point to it. Azuma then slowly made his way to the wave gate, not wanting to get close to any of his new 'friends'. After a few minutes he finally got to the gate.

"The Plains Capital: Heide!"

The Plains Capital: Heide

Just as Azuma arrived in Heide, he thought Odin was bad yet this showed another level. All the people weeping on the ground made it almost impossible to walk forward a few pace without finding you boot in someone else's gut. Steeling himself, the marauder attempted to trend through the bodies. At first he tried to keep from getting someone under foot. Through after awhile, he stopped caring about whatever was under him as he kept going. He barely made it to the square in time to watch Kit run off, most likely in the direction of the tower. He then noticed that Break and Sieghilde were both there, probably waiting for the others. Figuring that might be a good idea, but not wanting to talk with the royal bitch named Break, the marauder decided to stand off to the side, but near enough where he could hear whatever plans they made and maybe help with them without seeming like a giant idiot.
