With a yawn Loz lept out of the mouth of the cave fell for a bit before opening his wings and letting them catch the wind and pull him up into the sky. He wanted to catch a meal before tormenting the humans. What to eat... what to eat... He eyed the forest below as he broke through the clouds and searched movement. He was in the mood for something gamey. He spotted a large deer and circled it a couple times trying to figure out the best way to snatch it up without hitting too many trees. His wings folded against his back as he went into a nose dive towards the now running deer. His eyes narrowed as they followed it's zigzag movements with pin point accuracy until he was locked on. Just before he hit the tree tops his wings opened catching the wind and his feet reached down like the talons of a bird and his claws dug into the now very dead animal and he flapped his wings a few times until he was back in the air. Aw... he died... He landed at the base of the mountain and picked up the limp deer in his clawed hands. He gave a sigh before sending a small flame into the palm of his hand until the fur had been completely burned off and the outside of the animal blackened. He picked it up in his mouth and quickly swallowed it.
One deer wasn't enough to fill the bored beast but it was enough to prepare him for the day. He gave a smokey burp before flying off towards a near by town. It was a new town that hadn't made huge watch towers yet like the main town on the other side of the forest. He hovered there for a moment as his eyes and mouth began to glow and spark in a blue tint. They hide underground from the mess that they made, huh? A bolt flashed between his wings as a few rocks and small metal things on the ground started to raise into the air slowly. The humans began to scream and panic as their guns were pulled out of their hands. Loud cracks and booms of thunder rang out with every flash that radiated from the dragon. He could hear the whine of their iron doors as they were pulled out of the ground and up into the air.
Loz closed his mouth and his eyes went back to their normal red and the metals that had been attracted to him hoovered only for a moment longer before falling to the earth and crushing several unsuspecting humans. Oooo a bonus. The dragon grinned as he landed and ate the dead or dieing humans leaving the others to hide in their holes in peace. He glided over to the edge of the forest and bit some of the radiation poisoned trees. The poison seeming to have no effect on the dragon. He rather liked the taste of them over normal plants anyway.
”What are you doing?” An elder from his group landed in front of the young dragon while he slurped down the dead tree. “You'll waste your energy, get back to the cave.” He ordered before turning around expecting Loz to follow.
“These trees give us energy. We don't have to wait for storms.” He stretched his neck out to another tree. “Besides, it's not like-” He felt something lightly poking his side. Maybe he sat on a rock. He looked down at an angry human that stabbed at his hide with a tiny knife. He picked up the human casually and looked at it determining if he wanted to eat it or flick it like a bug.
”Don't play with your food, Loz.” The elder spoke so the young dragon charred his snack and tossed the still alive human into his mouth.
“If you don't mind, I'll be staying out for a bit longer.” Loz turned and took flight ignoring the calls of the much older dragon. He just wanted to fly around, tease the humans and maybe bug the water dragons. Was that asking a lot?
ROOOAAAHHH
When the nuclear fires scorched the earth and darkened the skies, the established order of the world went through a major power shift. Those once pristine cities of glass and steel? They came crumbling down with the thundering crash of broken glass and bending metal. Humanities own ingenuity led to it's destruction, as the raw killing power they had amass broke free from their control. Their once expansive reach now could barely cling to their survival. And in the wake of their down fall, something older rouse from it's slumber.
"Is that... oh my god. SOUND THE ALARM."
It's funny how life can change like that. I the waking years of your infancy, what you expected to be their to nurture and protect you was now gone, and suddenly your left alone in a harsh reality. Just like that shining age of technology for the once proud race of humanity.
"Get he women and children inside! Get the women and children inside before he comes around again- SHIT DOWN"
Just like when his mother never returned from hunting.
"ARG. AHHHHAHAAAA. My arm. It ripped off my fucking arm!"
Just like these humans who thought their little burrows could hide them.
The comms manager kicked the door open. With a ragged breath the stumbled in toward his desk, still clutching his left shoulder where his arm was missing from. He had to move quickly, before he bled out or the thing knocked over the radio tower. Taking his hand away from the bleeding wound he flicked the out put setting on. As he reached for the receiver he heard, or rather felt the complex shake with another loud BOOM. Heedless of the shaking ground and the sounds of battle outside he started broadcasting his message.
"This is watch outpost seven from the western watch. Repeat. This is western watch outpost seven." He paused to cringe as another wave of pain rolled through him. "We are under attack. Repeat. We are- nrgh... we are under attack. We have a city raiser tearing the burrows apart. It's a fire breather, red scaled, bigger then the normal breed. All nearby towns please prep for plausible attack. We aren't going to last much longer but please, be ready for him 'cause he's here and taking us apart. If anyone can send assistance please respond. Hostile is tearing the outpost apart. Repeat, hostile is a red fire breather-"
He was cut off at the sound of a loud crashing sound as the ceiling cam apart. Debris came raining down on him and the office shook violently. When he looked up he saw him. Scales red like blood, scars, made by both human and dragon, lining across his body. But most noticeable were the eyes, filled with over a centuries worth of malice, topped by a lone, single horn on his right side. The other horn long since gone.
"It's one horn! It's freaking one horn! One Horn is-"
That was the last thing the comm's manager was able broadcast before Drograh let a torrent of fire escape his great maw. The inferno, one the likes of which only those of the true fire tongues could exhale, was hot enough to melt stone like ice, and it incinerated the small human before he could draw another breath.
Drograh raised his head to survey his work. The ground was ripped open with fire and smoke billowing out of the holes in the ground and what structure that hadn't been crushed were slowly being included into the ever spreading blaze. Nothing was left alive, and even if anyone did survive, the falling ash and chocking smoke would rob their lungs of the air the survivor would need to breath.
Satisfied that his mark had been left Drograh reared his giant head back and let out a great roar that sounded for miles. His message was clear. His dominance had been marked and any that dared oppose him would be silenced. With his task done, the great one horned beast of red fiery death lifted his great wings and took to the skies once more, leaving the humans to wither and scream as the slowly burned and suffocated to death.

The lake was upstream from the town, so after passing a bolder pass, and thick marshland, the water should be deep enough, and you'd have to pass the town unoticed, by staying submerged and staying away from the coast where it is shallower and you can be seen, but stay underwater too long, and you might accidentally go to the Sharp Rocks, so you have to try and determine how long does it take to pass the town. After that, go downstream unstill the river starts to become wider and saltier, and the city is right there.
