Adelaide stood nervously on the front porch of the house that she assumed was her old friend Eddie's. It had been a few years since they last talked even though she had promised that she'd call him. She just...didn't. Not because she didn't like Eddie, she had loved Eddie with all of her heart, but because she had been involved in another wild fling and feared she was pregnant. This was just a scare, but she avoided him all after that not wanting to explain that she was the female equivalent of a player.
In the year following that, a cold and silent depression set in and a constant nagging to find Eddie again got to her and she had gone on a wild goose chase trying to find him, and now she stood at what she hoped was his house. Nervously, she rang the doorbell and waited.

"What?" Eddie asked wayne, putting his guitar down.
'I heard someone at the door. Go check it out." Wayne stated, going over to his beer fridge.
"You are going to get yourself killed, Wayne." Eddie said, fixing his black baseball cap. He left the bedroom and went down the stairs. Opening the door, he saw the one person he hadn't seen in years; Adelaide.
"Um...Can I help you?" He asked, protending he didn't know her. She had promised to call him, and all this time she never rang him up. He almost thought that it was a good thing she didn't call. Things had been so good in his life that he almost couldn't handle another spark such as this.

Adelaide smiled shyly at Eddie, surprised to see it was actually him. He looked wonderful, better than ever and although it saddened her he didn't remember her, her heart was filled with joy to see him again. The butterflies in her stomach sped up as she looked at him and nervously ran her fingers through her hair.
"Hey...it's me, Adelaide. I...I just was in town and I figured I'd see what you were up too...um, if you're busy I can go..." she said nervously, still playing with her hair.

"I remember you, all too well. Come on in." He said, stepping out of the door frame so she could get in. 'I'm not busy at all. Take a seat anywhere you would like."

Adelaide stepped inside, amazed at the house. It was much better than any she'd had since she'd moved out of her parents house, but then again, what could she expect? It wasn't like she was doing any good with modeling and the writing business was hard to get into.
"You have a very nice house," she stated, sitting down cautiously. "It looks like you've been doing great," she said, now smiling more confidently and sweetly at him.

"Thank you, I am doing about as good as any musician can do." He laughed, taking a seat beside her. "You look really beautiful...so, what brings you to town?" He couldn't figure it out himself. Why would she randomly show up at his door one day claiming she was here? There was just something about this whole issue that didn't seem right in his gut.

Adelaide squirmed nervously in her seat but kept smiling and laughed at his musician comment. "Well, I did have a music video I was going to be in here but they canceled on me. You know how shitty modeling is. I hate it."
She wondered what he was thinking. He had a very good poker face. She figured he was more curious than everything, and hoped he wasn't too pissed off that she never called. Maybe he wouldn't even bring that up. She bit her lip and looked at him funny but quickly went back to normal.

"This, my beautiful friend, is your big break. We are looking for a cover girl, and someone to be in the videos." He winked, walking over and eyeing her up and down. 'You do have the body for modeling, I gotta admit."

Adelaide blushed slightly at his compliment. "Me? Your cover girl? I don't know, Eddie, if you think that I'm the best you can do I'll be happy too but if you think you can do better I don't want to hold you back," she said softly, looking at the papers that he was holding.
She wondered if he was being serious. If he was, she was completely up for the job. She didn't want to leave Eddie's side again, but in the same breath she didn't know if Eddie would forgive her.

Adelaide smiled. "Okay, I'll do it," she said still sitting up very formally. She began to bite her lip again as his face took on a serious look and he asked how she'd been. "I've been...well...I've been okay, I guess," was all she said, forcing a smile and trying not to look upset.

Adelaide laughed. "No! I'm single! I don't really have 'boyfriends.' All relationships turn to shit these days, you know?!" she said, grinning at Eddie. Although, I really loved what I had with you. She knew that she could probably settle down with Eddie if he'd take her, but somehow she doubted he wanted her of all people.

Adelaide was shocked and delighted when Eddie kissed her, and couldn't help but kiss him back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. She was sad when it was over but she had a feeling it wouldn't be the last kiss. She beamed at him. "Eddie, I missed you so much."

Adelaide was hurt. How could Eddie kiss her like that and not care? She was on the verge of tears as he ran up the stairs but fought them. She barely had time to wave at Eddie's friend before he was kicked out before Eddie sat back down. Adelaide looked him in the eyes. She squeezed his hand and said, "Eddie, I love you, too."

Adelaide blushed and looked down as Eddie stroked her cheek. "I need a place to stay but I don't want to mooch off of you," she said, looking back into his eyes. "I'll pay rent or something if I stay here," she stated simply.

Adelaide smiled very wide at Eddie's request. She couldn't believe despite everything that he still wanted her. And...she really wanted to be his. "That's all I want, Eddie," she said, kissing him again very quickly, still smiling. "Thank you so much, I won't be a burden."

Adelaide smiled. "I'm so sorry for not calling. There's just a lot that would have been too hard to explain," she said, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm not kicking your friend out, am I?" she asked, curious about the man that she had previously seen leaving, or more being pushed out of the house.

Adelaide laughed and pulled herself closer to him. "You have no idea how glad I am I came back to you," she said with sincerity. Her life had gone to complete shit since she'd last seen him, starting with the college professor and the pregnancy scare and she hoped now it would be okay again.
