QUINQUE
An Ukaku type quinque that resembles an axe. It has a red hue to it seeing as the kagune that it was used in it was a ruby color. It has a long handle that allows for better range when using it, although it is still very much a close-range weapon, and a sharp blade that can pierce through most kagune. Some of her personal touches on it would be the small bunny on the base of the blade, and the red ribbon tied to the handle. Tori prefers to carry her quinque around in a bag rather than a briefcase. The axe is able to fold in half so that it can fit.

Pale Blonde
EYE COLOR
Golden
APPEARANCE
Tori stands at 5'3 and weighs in at about 97 pounds. Her heart shaped face is framed by pale blonde hair that falls in waves around her waist. Her waterfall of hair could almost be mistaken for a silver color in certain lighting, which helps her eyes stand out even more. Her golden orbs are surrounded by long eyelashes and always seem to be filled with elation. Her round cheeks can always be found to hold a healthy flush as well. Finishing off her face with a small button nose and plush pink lips, it's no wonder why she gets mistaken for someone much younger.
Tori has always dressed a bit eccentrically, Gothic Lolita being her style of choice. Another oddity about her would be the stuffed rabbit,
Chu, that she always carries around. He's been her rabbit since she was a little girl, and her love for him shows through in the way that he looks brand new despite being 18 years old. If Chu gets so much as a scratch or stain on him, Tori with pay to have a professional work on him and have him returned to his former glory. If she is not carrying him around in her arms, then he is probably sitting in her bag that carries her quinque, with his head sticking out so that he can see all of the sights.
Despite all of her innocence and bright, happy smiles. It's safe to say that none of her smiles are ever quite as wide or genuine as the chilling one she makes when she's fighting with her axe. It's almost as if she transforms into a different person entirely. But as soon as the fight is over, she transforms back into her usual innocent self, you could almost pass it off as your eyes playing tricks on you.

{Caring, Unstable, Reserved, Protective}
Tori can be quite the caring person. It doesn't take her long to grow attached to somebody, and she's always willing to help people. She treats her friends like family, and she's always there when they need somebody to talk to. Even if you're rude to her, she'll just smile politely and excuse herself. She seems to take on the world with an ever present smile on her face. Do to this nature of hers, many people view her as a very innocent individual. While she's certainly not naïve, it could be said that she is in some ways innocent. The way that she is always willing to give somebody a chance certainly shows that. She also behaves a bit as a motherly figure to people who are younger than her. Since she grew up without a mother she knows what it feels like to not have one, hence why she feels the need to act like one for other people. One of the only times that you will see Tori not smiling is when somebody asks her if she can actually handle herself in the CCG. To this, you will find that she'll lose her usual smile and instead put on a deadly serious face, then, turning to look the person who said it in the eye, she'll calmly tell them that she earned her way onto the force through hard work and dedication. And she can most definitely handle herself out in the field.
Although Tori has been a kind and caring person since the day that she was born, it can be said that as of late, she's been a bit unstable. It began to show a little bit after her father died, then after her brother died it became full blown. She seemed to be unable to cope with the lose of her family, and thus this dark side of her became present. Tori tries her best to hide this side of herself, going as far as to ignore it completely, acting as if everything if perfectly fine with her. If you were to act her if there was something wrong, she would simple look at you with confusion on her face and ask what you meant. Nobody seems to have really caught on yet, but this seems to be something that she can't really control, so it may just be a matter of time until somebody does. She gets unusually angry when somebody mentions her family, and it takes all of her will power to not start yelling at them, although at times a low growl may manage to escape. Tori has also found that when fighting, a strange amount of joy seems to present itself to her. She finds herself going all out when fighting, even during practice. It takes a lot inside of her to will herself to ease up. All of her tension seems to melt away when she's fighting, and it all seems very exciting. She can never stop grinning while she's swinging her axe. Tori has began to try and play it off by pointing out that she always smiles.
When Tori is behaving normally, she presents herself as a very reserved person. She isn't especially energetic or loud, she's more of the type of person who enjoys sitting back and observing other people. When asked, she will definitely give her opinion, but other then that, she'd much rather listen to other people's ideas. Tori isn't exactly shy, which her silent seems to make some people believe, she's just sort of silent. She can in fact socialize fairly well with others, although she by no means has a silver tongue. She is a very good listener though, and can easily listen to people tell stories for hours on end without getting bored. She can also be a very calming person, often attempting to help others calm down when their emotions are running high. For some reason, her calming abilities do not seem to work on herself when she begins to feel unstable, or it is at least extremely difficult to get to work. Otherwise then then, you can usually find her standing close by a friend and silently listening to what they have to say with a gentle smile on her face.
Tori has always been a bit protective of her family and friends, but after her family died and she began to become unstable, her protective instincts drastically increased as well. It's gotten to the point that if somebody even speaks of harming somebody that she loves, it becomes very hard for her to keep calm. If somebody so much as gave anybody that she cares about, this includes Chu, a tiny scratch, she would likely go ballistic. She would show that person no mercy, and all sense of reason would go right out the window. When she is in on of these protective rages, the only thing on her mind is getting revenge for the person that they injured. Even though Tori is usually a very forgiving person, once somebody has harmed one of her friends, she can never forgive them. And while she usually gives people chances to prove that they are good, people like the ghouls in Shinku Fang she simply can't trust. The thought of what they could do to the people that she loves won't allow her to give them a chance. While she holds nothing back when she is just fighting normally because she enjoys it, she holds nothing back when she is fighting to protect somebody because she is intent on making sure that the person threating others can no longer hurt them. Tori knows that this level of protectiveness isn't a good thing, but she can no longer help it. She can only hope that it won't be her undoing.

People Touching Chu|| Unless Tori gives you permission to touch him, it's probably a good idea to just leave Chu alone.
Being Reminded Of Her Family|| It's still a bit hard for her to come to terms with all of them being gone.
Coffee|| It's way too bitter tasting for her. Not to mention that instead of giving her energy, coffee just seems to make her tired.
People Questioning If She Belongs|| It's not unusual for people to question how she got into the CCG, given her small stature and childish looks. It's become one of her biggest pet peeves.

Speed|| Tori's smaller size helps allow her to move quickly, for a human at least.
Non-Threating|| Due to Tori's non-threating appearance, she doesn't raise much alarm. It definitely helps when taking ghouls by surprise.
Stamina|| After having many practices where Tori fights without holding anything back, she has worked up quite the stamina.
Observant|| While others are busy talking, Tori is taking in her surroundings. It's not unusual for her to be the one to notice something, or find a small, hidden clue.

Short-Ranged Weapon|| Seeing as her quinque is an axe, it doesn't allow her to fight against long-range kagune very well. Unless she can find a way to launch a surprise attack, she's usually left at a disadvantage.
Small Stature|| Tori is definitely lacking in burliness. Therefore on-on-one combat isn't the best choice for her. She can be a good asset on a team, but fighting alone could be dangerous for her.
Protective Nature|| Due to Tori's protectiveness, if you end up hurting somebody that she cares about, she won't think before acting.
Conflicting Emotions|| Tori still attempts to hide her unstable emotions, which usually leads to her fighting with herself over what to show and what to keep compressed. This fighting with herself can leave her in a vulnerable state where she isn't really sure what to do.

Tori was given life in exchange for her mother's own. Shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Asuka Hayashi died due to complications from the strain of birthing a child. Tori was immediately thrown into a gloomy atmosphere, yet the mishap with her mother only seemed to help bring her family closer together. Teaching the family the valuable lesson that you had to love people while they were around, since they could disappear at any moment. Thanks to this, she grew up in a very caring and loving family. Although her father and older brother (Who was five years old at the time of his mother's death) were very grief stricken, they put all of the effort that they had into raising Tori right.
By the time that Tori had turned ten, an increase in ghoul activity was becoming noticed. For this reason, Masaru Hayashi decided to move his children from the Shibuya ward in Tokyo to the Nerima ward, where things seemed to be much more peaceful then some surrounding areas. Tori was a bit saddened by this move, she had never been outside of Shibuya before, not to mention that it was the place where she discovered and fell in love with Lolita fashion. It was also the place that she had met her best friend Chu, who she had found at a toy store at age three. Her sadness definitely could not top Daisuke's however, as her older brother began crying the second that he was told they were moving, since he did not want to leave the area that his mother was buried in. However, their father insured them that this move would be good for all of them, and so the two children were solemnly dragged along.
It wasn't long after the family's move to Nerima that Masaru decided to join the CCG and help aid the fight against the ghouls. Daisuke found the job of a ghoul investigator to be rather fascinating, and he would often read up on any information that he could find on them. While Tori did find the concept interesting, she wasn't nearly as enthralled with it as her brother. There were many days where she'd be stuck sitting on her bed, listing to her brother drone on and on about what they did in the CCG for hours. It would only stop when their father returned from work, which would send her brother flying to the front door in order to ask their father if he had any cool stories to tell from that day. Daisuke would often tell Tori about how he was going to be a ghoul investigator just like their father when he grew up, and she could only hope from the bottom of her heart that he would, maybe then he would stop talking about it.
When Daisuke finally reached the legal adult age, twenty, he had decided that he was finally ready to attend the Ghoul Investigator Training Academy. Yet, when he excitedly told his father about his plans, it lead to a full-blown argument. Tori watched cautiously from the doorway as the two screamed at each other. Masaru saying that he didn't want his son to put himself in danger like that, and Daisuke saying that he was an adult now and that he could do what he pleased. The argument ended when their father swore that he would cut Daisuke out of his and Tori's life if he went to the Academy. So, with a heavy heart, Tori watched as her older brother sadly agreed not to go. She watched as some of her brother's usual cheerfulness drained away from him that day, and she watched as the relationship between her brother and father slowly crumbled away, the two only speaking to each other when absolutely necessary.
Two years passed and Tori could only wonder what had happened to her once close-knit family. She and Daisuke watched quietly as chaos began to erupt in the 14th ward. She couldn't help but feel worried for her father, and she knew that even though they weren't on speaking terms, her brother worried for him as well. Whenever she would as her big brother if their father was going to be ok, he would calmly reassure her that the 20th ward was very peaceful, and that he would most definitely be fine. However, things never seem to turn out the way that you want them to. A year later, Masaru was killed while at work by an unidentified ghoul. The two siblings were shocked and relatively horrified. The unthinkable seemed to have happened.
Tori knew that her brother felt an insane amount of guilty for not speaking to their father very much in the years leading up to his death. So she didn't deny him when he said that he wanted to take their father's body back to Shibuya so that he could be buried next to their mother. Tori waited patiently for Daisuke's return, while he was only supposed to be gone for a week at the most, he ended up disappearing for a month. When he finally did return home, it was easy to tell that he hadn't been taking care of himself while he was away. He had lost a bunch of weight, and his skin was a sickish gray color accompanied by large bags underneath his eyes. Tori was sent into a panic at this new version of her brother, all signs of the cheerful and excitable brother that she grown up with were now gone. She tried her hardest to take care of Daisuke, not enrolling in college so that she could spend all her time nursing her beloved brother back to health. However, he was severely depressed by this point and would barely eat, so a year after their father died, Daisuke passed as well.
Tori was now all alone, with only Chu to keep her company. It was around this time that she began to become a bit unstable. She spent a couple of months in a depressed heap herself. The only thing that got her out of it was a sudden realization that she had. Daisuke had never got to live out his dream as a ghoul investigator, but she could do it for him. So, at the age of nineteen she enrolled at the Academy. Now, two years later, she's been working for the CCG for a couple of months. Tori plans on being a great CCG employee and someday being promoted to a senior investigator. She's not going to let anything stop her, because she needs to get to the top, so that Daisuke can see what it's like.
