Reagan listened to him and she couldn't help but notice that the deaths he had listed were all murders. Was there some one out to get him, was he a wanted man? She pondered for a moment and when he mentioned the tapeworms her nose wrinkled. "Benny had those last year." The bear grumbled at her as if he was offended she would share such personal information but she just shrugged and said "He ate some bad apples, was a nightmare to get him through it." She told him, "I am happy however that you can live so closely with your animals like that. It's really quite nice to see." She offered him a smile.

He asked her what Home was like as they pulled up in front of the inn. It was a nice looking place, two story with wood pillars to hold up a balcony where people ate and drank. "Home is a nice place, we haven't got any homeless people, nor do we have any crime." She looked around and gestured "Everything is nice. But the catch is that there are lots of rules to follow, but once you get the hang of them you live quite peacefully. To be honest, nothing really happens around here. You're the most exciting thing that has happened to me for a few months." She moved her hands to her pockets and dug around looking for something. Once she found it she pulled out her hand and held out a small pouch she had made out of animal skins. She presented it to him as a gift, "Here, welcome to home Botch, made that myself I did." She looked at him proudly. "I'm a hunter and on the side I make things out of the skins." She explained. "That can hold a few things for you that you want to keep close, wont ever rip, I promise."

"You've," he struggled to put it in words, "given me a gift?" He was shocked. He planned to wait until the bear was out of the picture to start begging or flattering, but... he hadn't needed to. She had given him a gift. She worked on it, and hunted for it, and then given it to him. Something in Botch screamed about paranoia and that she was buttering him up but it was a tiny voice, far too small for him to hear. She hadn't gagged at his sight, or ran from his friends. This strange young woman, hair shocked red and escorted by bears, had called him interesting. Smiled at him. Given him a gift. He stolen from and spied on her. He chewed his tongue for half a moment in confusion. "Thank you," he said, his voice accompanied by his kin. He took the pouch carefully from her and hung it on his staff. He found himself smiling. Catching himself in the midst of his thoughts, he regained his composure. "You know where to find us, I suppose. If you ever need something..." he straightened his posture and pushed open one of the twin doors of the inn, "thank you again," he said quickly, and walked inside.

The little white Peppered Moth he had sent to follow them a while back stayed behind, fluttering quietly above the girl and her bear outside.

Once inside, Nackerick tried to clear his thoughts. He silently willed his lice to burrow out of sight, leaving his thinning hair motionless. The locusts above his head and on his staff flew into the small bag he had received. All visible members of his party sunk away into his recesses. It left him looking merely bruised and down trodden. Not entirely normal, but for a town of magic folk nothing out of the ordinary he hoped. He cleared his throat and took his place in line behind a rather tall man, who was just as wide. He was clad in earthen tones and the skin of his arms bristled with dark hair. Some warrior, Nackerick supposed. He waited patiently behind him and when it was his turn he spoke to the manager with a voice that was his alone. It sounded weak without it's entourage of clicks and flutters, and Botch was uncomfortable using it. He secured a room in the upper floor with his last remaining coins from his last scam. He had given lice to an entire town, and offered bottles of colored water as an elixir to cure it. It worked of course, he simply told the lice to leave. Easy. But boy had he made a killing on those "elixirs". He sighed in longing for such funds and gathering up his bag, lantern, and staff, he adjourned to his room.

Safely in his room, his swarms unraveled. Within minutes the small, warmly painted, 8' by 8' room was filled with nests and hives from floor to ceiling. He sighed again, this time happily, and laid upon his creaky bed still clothed. "Room 31. Home. Hidden Valley." The walls of insects whispered in perfect time with him this little observation. "What a strange place." He listened to the drone of bees and cicadas as he laid on his bed, in sleepless thought.

He seemed so surprised by the gift she had given him, it was just a thought that had occurred to her in a split second. Perhaps she had done something wrong by giving him the little pouch. Then again it had been a bit of a self marketing ploy on her part, she did feel a bit guilty on that part. She wasn't the only leather worker/ hunter in town. She wanted him to come back to her. She watched him leave and secretly wished him luck and then turned to Benny, never once noticing the small moth above her.
"Come on boy, lets drop these off at home and we'll grab our hunting gear." She took the apples home and grabbed her arrows and small knife that she tucked in the belt at her side. She slipped a leather guard over her chest and put on her wrist guards. She looked over at Benjamin and gave him the thumbs up and they headed back out again.

They traveled out of the gates of home to where the farm lands lie. She smiled at the smell of fresh food and dirt and headed on down the path towards the forest where all kinds of creatures called home. She hummed softly as they headed deeper into the forest until finally Benny caught wind of a deer off down the road a bit. They worked together at a team, capturing and bagging their prey. One pursued and the other trapped. They killed quickly and cleanly, leaving the animal in no more pain than it needed to. Benjamin was to carry the deer once it was strapped to his back and they made their way back to Home.

Reagan had a small hut dedicated to the tanning and skinning of the animal and there she spent most of her day, dividing the meat and packaging it to sell. Outside Benny lay sleeping in the sun, the both of them were quite content.

Blake glanced at Alys then to the library. 'I wonder what it looks like in there. Maybe I will be allowed to go inside one day,' he mused. He ran his fingers through his hair slowly. Blake twirled the knife in his hand.

"Ah, this week week's party, I wonder if any treachery will happen. I hope it does, that would please me," he paused, a soft sigh escaped his lips. "I hate mingling with others; they are so irritating. I'll have to pretend to actually like them when I'd rather kill them. I forget who Idon is...I will see who he is at the party," he stated. He laughed when she made a grumpy face.

"Yes. We will have to look nice. You will be forced to wear a dress. I will have to wear a suit that is somewhat constricting. Though, if I need to torture or kill someone, I can just take parts of the suit off. I wonder if I should wear a bow-tie or tie for this party," he said. He kept his eyes on the bird.

A few seconds after he saw the bird's body drop, he threw his knife. The birds had started to fly off. He smiled when he heard shrilled shirks. He watched as the knife rapidly came down with two birds. The knife had pierced the center of their wings. Blake smiled. He looked at Alys.

"They may not be dead but you know I love to leave them alive. Torture is much more enjoyable than death. Though, my torture is most likely to kill. Also, it is always more fun when they die slowly and painfully. I love to watch them suffer," he told her. Blake watched as the birds struggled to break free. They only succeed in causing themselves more pain. He laughed and rolled his eyes.

"Pathetic birds think they can free themselves. They are more likely to pass out from pain before that happens," he said.

"that's a big dream Blake." Alys turned her head to watch him move his hands though his hair and then turned back to the birds. "I have doubts of that happening. But if it did, surely that would mean we are in very high standing with the king."

"We've dealt with it before, I'm sure there will be a few fools who will mess up. We'll make them scream sure enough." he had laughed at her and she pouted a small bit before forcing the frown away. It was silly of her to complain. "I'm sure you'll have a few suites at the party. You always seem to attract all the women."she rolled her eyes and leaned her head back a little but kept her eyes on the birds.

He threw the knife and watched as two birds floated to the earth struggling to get apart. She snorted and crouched low watching them intently as Blake explained to her his methods. "I've got to hand it to you, you can certainly make the prisoners scream the loudest. It's always a joy when you enter the dungeon." she stood again and saw one of the birds pull and pull until they both collapsed their cried becoming softer until they were still.

"I think you win this one." she glanced back at him and went to retrieve the knives from the dead birds just as Cain opened the door. He saw the dead birds and broke into a smile.
"such lovely games on the jobs." Cain rubbed his hands together and said "I've been planning the party dear soldiers. I'm quite proud of this one." Alys stood the bloodied knives in her hands and pulled a rag out of her pocket and wiped the blood off them and slipped them back into place.
"excellent sir." she gave him a smile and then looked over at Blake.
"I need the two of you to hand out invitations and to grab a few leaves from the kings grave yard. I want them from the large oak." Cain didn't bother to explain why he need them instead he waved them off and headed towards the great hall.

"I doubt it too. I am pretty sure getting in very high standing with the king is close to impossible. You would probably be allowed into the library before I am," he said. Then he closed his eyes. He nodded in responses to the next thing she said. He smiled when he heard her pout.

"You act like a child at times Alys, with your grumpy face and pouting," he told her. He opened an eye to look at her then he closed it again.

"The women...they annoy me to no end. I have to be extra nice and charming at the parties. I have to keep myself from hurting them or their feelings when they get too bold. I also have to deal with them in town. If most of them did not speak to me, I would be fine," he told her.

He shrugged his shoulders when she said he won. Blake wasn't one to care if he won a game or not. It was just a game after all. When he heard the door open, he opened his eyes and looked back. It was Cain. He turned around to face him. Blake smiled at the king. He listened to him silently as he spoke.

"It would be our pleasure your majesty," he stated. He watched as the king headed towards the great hall. Blake stilled watched a few seconds after the king was out of sight. A few seconds later, he finally turned to look at Alys. He formed eye contact with her.

"I say we get the leaves first and then hand out the invitations. I'd rater not deal with anyone but you at the moment. A few more moments of peace would also be nice. Though, doing the annoying part first and then having peace would be okay too. It doesn't really matter to me," he paused, "What do you think Alys?"

Blake yawned and slid his hands into his pockets. His eyes wandered over to the empty bird nest. Then he looked at the dead birds.

Aly's scoffed a little when he said that she might get to see the library. "I doubt that Blake, The king never lets anyone in." She shrugged and then moved back to him and said "But I would not object to being in that high of standing of course, it would be such an honour." She looked at the closed doors wistfully and then turned back to him when he called her a child. she reached out and gave him a shove and laughed "I suppose."

He spoke of the annoyances of women and the said "Well perhaps you need to scare them a little, or make it so you are undesirable." She advised. "go roll in the mud or something, or..."she seemed quite impressed with her latest idea "don't bathe. Ever." She folded her arms.

She met his eye and nodded when he suggested that they get the leaves first and said "We can go to the Kings grave's first. I'm not quite ready to put on a normal front just yet." She rolled her shoulders and then began to walk with him out of the courtyard. They picked up the bags of invitations Cain had left for them in the entrance hallway and she hoisted the bag over her shoulder and then they exited the castle. "I could go for some supper after this." She told him "I've got a few slabs of meat left, you are welcome to join me after this task." She told him "You of course would have to bring some ale." She adjusted the bag of invitations as they walked along a giant bridge over looking the small houses down below. There was a set of stairs at the end of the walk way that separated in two different directions, they took the left one to the small grove of trees that surrounded the kings graves.

When they walked into the grove Alys set down her bag and went over to the large oak in the middle of the area and looked up at her hands on her hips. There was no way they could reach the leaves by jumping and it looked like they would have to climb the massive tree. "It's strange." Alys said quietly. "It's so quiet here." It was indeed terribly quiet, there was no sounds of the people below or any screams, the science felt unnatural to her, it was as if the area was never meant to be disturbed. "Do you want a leg up Blake?" she asked him linking her fingers together and bending down to give him a boost.

Idon Metel
Idon had been watching the pair of Soldiers from afar. He was always doing that; just watching. He knew the girl’s name, Alys, but he was unfamiliar with the man who stood beside her. They were shooting birds from the tree that they perched in. As a bird familiar Idon should have been concerned but no emotion was stirred inside him. He could see none of the few bird’s he was fond of in the branches so he didn’t see why he should deprive the two of their fun and call attention to himself while doing it.

Still even though he did not care for the death of the birds, the sport did not appease to Idon. He did not understand the entertainment of killing a simple minded creature. Sure they squawked and made some noise but it wasn’t as pleasant as watching a human twist in pain. Sometimes Idon wished he was a wizard. He had seen the magic electricity run through an elf’s body once. The elf had shook and jerked around like a puppet before lying on the ground and twitching. All the while it, as Idon called the elf, had been screaming. Then the pleading and begging had come. What would it be like to have that extreme power? His hands shivered in pleasure at the thought.

By now the king, himself, had come out. Idon was out of hearing range but saw the royal man disappear and the two others leaving the court yard. He considered following them but decided on just going inside. He wandered around not sure what to do. Perhaps he should have appeared when the king had assigned Alys and the other man jobs. At one point Idon stopped to peer out a window. A faint reflection stared back at him. His eyes stood out against his pale face and his black hair did not help the combination. Wryly he thought of an old story about a girl named Raven who looked as Idon did. Many called Raven “Snow White” because of her skin.

In the story the girl was portrayed as a sweet princess who never did anyone harm. But Idon thought of Raven as a sorceress or maybe a siren. Everyone loved Raven at the first sight of her. All but the supposedly jealous queen. Raven had most likely used her innocent looks to capture that hearts of others and make her way to the throne, Idon concluded. Satisfied with the new details of the story, Idon turned away. The halls were silent. While much preferring the dungeon’s moans and creaks, the quiet was strange but not unbearable.

He found himself at the Kings’ Grave. The two soldiers we at the base of a massive tree looking as if they were planning to climb it. Idon slipped passed them not caring if they saw him or not. He scanned the tree tops for a glimpse of a bird. The grove was a favorite spot for doves and with nothing else to do Idon figured he could at least talk to a bird. He saw nothing but leaves.

"Ha. I do not plan on rolling in mud or not showering. Maybe I will just give them a bit of a fright," he told her. Blake was somewhat glad when she picked the King grave's to go to first. He grabbed his bag of invitations and swung it as he walked. He walked a bit ahead of her as he took everything in. He looked up at the sky, there were barely any clouds. The sun was also high in the sky, it shone down on them.

"I may join you, it depends on the type of mood I am in. If I decide to join you, I will bring ale. I have ale at my home. I would just need to stop by and get a bottle or two," he told her. He passed the graves and looked at the flowers on them. He dropped his bag next to Alys's bag. Then he glanced up at the large oak.

His eyes wandered over to Alys when she spoke. Blake shrugged his shoulders. He enjoyed the quiet, it was peaceful to him. Blake glanced down at Alys's linked fingers. He rolled his eyes.

"I can do it on my own, but I will help you up once I am up there. That is if you want my help," he stated. Though, he was distracted when he saw someone slip pass them. He cleared his throat. Blake glanced at Alys. "We have company, do you know him?" he questioned.

Blake cracked his knuckles. Then he jogged backwards for a bit. Next, he ran towards the tree and jumped. He grabbed a branch before he pulled himself up. Once sitting on the branch, he leaned down. He offered his hand to Alys. Though, he kept his eyes on the the man who scanned the tree tops.

"Come up now or get up here on your own," he told her. If Alys accepted his hand, he could help her up. After, he would start to climb the tree slowly. He planned to climb to the top of the tree. Blake wanted to get a full view of the land around him. Also, he was interested in seeing if anyone else was around or not.

On his way up, he looked at the leaves. He wanted to get large and nicely shaped leaves to give to the king. Also, he wanted to make sure the leaves wouldn't have imperfections.

She snorted softly at him when he said he would frighten the women and she knew that he would intend to do as he said. He casually gave her a maybe to the supper invitation and she shrugged not all that offended. Maybe she would find someone else to bring home and when they broke the rules she would get them for it. Now that she thought about it, that seemed like the better idea and she almost half hoped that Blake wouldn't attend.

Alys also noticed the new comer and she inclined her head to him "Idon." She spoke his name, "I don't suppose you've met Blake." She gestured to blake who had taken a run at the tree and was now up in a branch, Blake was testing her by offering his hand and she rolled her eyes at him and shoved his hand away. "I can do it myself." She muttered.

She took a few steps back and looked over at Idon "I don't suppose you want to help us, we're completing a task for the king. You can help hand out this months Masquerade invitations." She looked back at the tree and ran towards it and jumped at the last possible second. Her feet hit the trunk hard and she grunted and she propelled herself up and caught a branch. She hoisted herself up and moved so she was crouching on the branch. Blake was already halfway up the tree and she climbed up after him and began to inspect the leaves. She wasn't exactly sure what the king needed so she tried to pick the bigger ones. She gathered a few into a leather pouch at her side and she was careful not to bend the leaves as she moved around.

Idon Metel
“Idon. I don’t suppose you’ve met Blake?” Alys’ hand waved slightly at the man sitting in the branches of the tree. Idon tilted his head at him and gave what was an outline of a vague smile; barely moving his mouth or changing his expression at all. “…completing a task for the king. You can help hand out this month’s Masquerade invitations.” Ah, that’s right, Idon mused, there’s a ball coming up, isn’t there? He watched as the Alys swung herself up so that she was finally resting next to Blake. She then began picking leaves. “You’re collecting leaves for the king.” It wasn’t really a question, just a simple statement. “I could help with the invites.” He continued. He glanced up at the man in the tree. Perhaps I should smile, Idon thought absently. He usually did upon meeting newcomers but right now he was surprisingly tired.
Adriana Aura
When the boy didn’t reply immediately, Adriana came to her senses. Was she just to waltz out of the store with this random kid and possibly get him killed? It would technically be her fault, knowing of the curse over Ella and yet letting her do whatever she pleased. “On second thought,” She began, clearing her throat and trying to keep a steady and straight forward voice “We change our minds.” “Wha-“ Ella was startled so Adriana took advantaged and grabbed her friend, running out of the shop. Even with the loud protests behind her, she kept running. She had to get far away from the Zapper kid. It was best if Ella was kept away from them.
Besides, going to the palace was dangerous. She knew of Cain’s evil but what was she to do about him? She wouldn’t tell Ella though. Ella already had enough problems on her mind.

Alys got her collection of leaves and she hopped down and looked back up a Blake. Idon offered to help hand out the invites and she gave him a light punch to the shoulder "that's the spirit." she said. "we are greatful for your assistance." she told him in an after thought. Officer training had taught her always to be kind and appreciative to her fellow soldiers as they were all working towards a just cause and there was no need for fighting amongst them when there was a far better enemy to be fought. She glanced back up the tree and cupped her hand up and shouted up to Blake "don't pluck the whole bloody tree! We only need a few! Come on down then." she gestured to the ground and looked ver at Idon "we can start on the south side of Home and work our way through. Sound good?" she asked him.

Gideon

Gideon was out and about helping himself to a nice breakfast he had made at home. It consisted of a small slice of bread and some meat he had roasted over the fire. He was munching in his small meal quite happily heading towards work. He was a merchant in a general store just outside of the large market. They sold all kinds of things there like fabrics, everyday food and more. He enjoyed his job, he got to meet all kinds of interesting people. He smiled at a few people on the street and then when he came across a small pond of to the side in the corner and he pulled out a small flower from his pocket that had seen better days and he went up to the water and dropped the flower in. He waited for the mermaid he had been flirting with these past few days to appear but instead he received a large splash of water to the face instead. Clearly his mermaid was still not happy with him for flirting with another.

He shrugged and wiped away the water from his face and checked to make sure his bag was still dry. It held his sketch book and he was relieved to see it was still dry. He glanced up just in time to see two girls plow right into him. He let out a soft grunt as he was knocked back into a pile it took him a moment to come to his senses and when he lifted his head to check to see who had run into him he saw two lovely women and smiled "well hello." he said not sounding angry at all.

Blake gave Idon a quick look before he continued to climb the tree. He climbed to the highest point possible on the tree. He took everything in as he leaned against the trunk. He had a beautiful view. He got a glimpse of the rolling green hills of the forest and lakes. Blake took everything in. The moment seemed to actually be peaceful. It was relaxing.

When he reached the top, he had about ten or so leaves in his hand. He glanced down every now and then to watch Idon and Alys. After a while, he heard Aly's shouting. He rolled his eyes. Blake slid the leaves between two fingers. Then he quickly and gracefully climbed down the tree. He jumped down when he was a few feet away from the ground. He looked at Idon and then at Alys.

"It would take me a while to pick the whole tree," he told her. He walked over to a bag of invitations. Blake picked it up with his free hand. He looked at Idon. Blake gave him a smile. Though, it was just a fake smile. Blake gave just about everyone fake smiles.

"Hello Idon. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said. Blake slowly rolled his shoulders back. He looked between Alys and Idon once more. "Are we ready to go?" he questioned. Blake glanced up as birds flew by overhead.

Ella Frill

Ella saw the object coming up, although it was unknown to what it was; that is, until they plowed right into it and it grunted. A small gasp escaped her lips as she tried to catch herself. Adriana had no such luck, however, and fell straight down, into a small mud puddle. She was up on her feet though, almost as quickly as she had fallen. Ella looked at the man that had been in our way. She tilted her head in a way that made her hair fall back charmingly to reveal her slender face. But she wasn't trying to attract the man, she was merely confused. She had a strange feeling of recognition when the man, who had regained his wits, said a greeting. He didn't sound angry or confused, in fact it was almost as if he was flirting, but what kind of person didn't get mad about being run over? Instead of returning the greeting Ella looked at him for a moment longer before blurting, " Do I know you?" A flush rose over her face but she forced it down. The feeling of being familiar with this man bugged her.

Idon Metel

The man, no, Blake introduced himself and then asked if they were ready. He was smiling but it wasn't a true friendly smile. Idon looked at him studiously before returning the grin. He was almost always amused when a fellow soldier saw his transformation from a tall skinny man to a young boy, and just with a small upward motion in his mouth. But perhaps Blake was different. Maybe he would take it as a challenge or maybe nothing at all. "Yes," Idon began with the same cold and indifferent tone as always, "Let us start the rounds."

Gideon

Gideon watched her tilt her head this way and that and he thought it incredibly endearing. He offered her a smile and got to his feet and brushed the dust of his arms and then reached over to do the same for Ella but was stopped when she suddenly blurted asking if he knew her. Gideon blinked a few time and he looked over her and thought for a moment and then it came to him suddenly. He broke into an easy grin and said "I remember you now." He bent to brush the dust off his pants taking his time before he told her where he knew her from. Once he was standing straight again he pointed to a little pub down the road "I tried most unsuccessfully to pick you up from that bar." He told her "I was drunk at the time so its understandable why a lovely girl like yourself turned me down but I can promise you I'm not drunk now." He smiled at her and turned to the other woman "Are you alright, sorry I didn't see the both of you there other wise I would have moved out of the way." He told them honestly.

Alys

She watched Idon carefully, he was always one to keep to himself but she knew him to be a good soldier and worthy of the term. She walked with the men to the south side of Home and then began to hand out invitations. She put on her best smile for the unaware citizens but kept her eyes out for any trouble. She was hoping for something to distracted the from the mediocre job but nothing occurred. The citizens were all happy about the ball and she caught some girls eyeing Blake and Idon from afar and giggling. She couldn't help but grin. She walked them through part of he city and they soon drew nearer to the market.

Blake looked at Idon blankly when he returned the grin. He stayed behind Alys and Idon when they walked. He took in his surroundings as they headed south. He would walk a few feet away and hand out invitations. He gave everyone a sweet smile and asked them how they were doing. 'I would be an amazing actor,' he thought.

He forced himself not to role his eyes. Blake had seen the girls from afar. They were giggling and eyeing him and Idon. It annoyed him. Blake looked at Idon and gave him a playful grinned. "Girls are so silly now a days," he told him in an amused tone. Blake saw Alys's grin but ignored it.

When they reached the market he felt more at ease. He would be allowed to see what people had for sale. He wondered if there would be anything good to buy. 'Hmm, I have been wanting to see this familiar. I should buy a few things from her to see if she is any good,' he thought.

Now Blake began to walk in front of Alys and Idon. He looked back at them. "I will return. I have to go inquire about something. Though do not worry, I will be handing out invitations as I go. I will see you soon or later on today. Good day, Idon, Alys," he said. Then he quicken his pace as fast as he could. He had to stop quite a bit to hand out invitations.

He stopped in his tracks. 'I should bring a gift, I am a good citizen after all,' he thought. Blake bought a big fat juicy salmon. He held the packaged fish in the crook of his arm. He still needed to be able to hand out invitations. He wanted to finish with his bag quickly.

Finally he reached his destination, a small hut. He knew he was at the right hut when he saw the bear. It was just sleeping. Blake entered the hut and smiled at the women inside. With one hand he held out the packaged fish and invitation to her.

"Hello, here is your invitation to the ball. Also, the fish is for your furry friend," he said in a kind tone. "I am here to inquire if you have any rabbit meat and or pelts," he stated. Blake placed his bag at his feet. He slowly ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm sorry, it was rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Blake. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" he questioned. His smile widen. Blake watched the girl.

Alys

Alys watched Blake move away and she shrugged, she wasnt his mother, though she was a bit saddened as Blake was far more interesting to talk to than Idon but she would make do. She glanced over at Idon and then handed out another invitation and said softly to Idon "Want to play a game?" She liked games, always did, challenges to make herself better and to prove herself worthy over others. She wasn't a sore looser however and even enjoyed the games when she lost. "Tell you what, who ever can hand their entire bag out first gets a drink from the looser." She looked over at him and asked "Deal?"

Reagan

Reagan was busy sewing away at a new pelt when a customer walked in. She took a moment to notice how handsome he was and she wondered how he kept his hair so perfect. She forced the silly thought away and offered him a bright smile and stood up to greet him. He handed her the invitation to this months ball and a fish. Reagan was humbled by the gift and she felt her cheeks redden slightly, hardly anyone brought anything for Benny as they thought him big, mean and scary. She took the invitation and watched At Benjamin got up like it was the most difficult thing in the world and he lumbered over to the newcomer his snout moving as he sniffed the lovely fish. He looked up at the man grunted softly as if to say thank you and then nipped the fish out of his hands delicately. He bent his head so that he might eat it better.

"We both say thanks." Reagan interpreted for Benjamin and she listened to his request for Rabbit meat and pelts and she nodded as he ran his hand through his hair and she once again marvelled at its perfection. "Sheesh." she laughed a little and then said "I've got some fresh rabbit caught this morning." She turned and went into a large chest and brought out a twine of rabbits tied together. "I havent quite skinned them yet but I could if you like me to." she offered. "It's nice to meet you Blake." she set the rabbits down and wiped her hands on her pants before offering her own hand, "I'm Reagan and that big guy there is Benjamin." she gestured to Ben who was still munching happily.

Blake eyes filled with amusement when he saw her cheeks slightly redden. 'Some people blush so easily,' he thought. His eyes wandered over to the bear. Blake watched the bear until it took the fish out of his hands. Blake was a bit impressed on how delicately the fish was taken. He watched the bear eat for a while. He looked at Reagan again when she spoke once more.

"You're welcome, it was no trouble at all," he said. He noticed when she watch him, but decided not to do anything about it. He didn't want to be seen as a flirt. Blake had enough love sick girls annoying him. One of his brows rose when she laughed a little. He watched as she went to a large chest. "Perfect. It is such a treat to have fresh rabbit to pick from. It's fine that you haven't skinned them yet, I am a patience man," he said. He stayed quiet for a bit as he observed the hut.

"I would be happy if you would skin them for me. Could you make me a blanket out of rabbit pelts? I would be very grateful. Also, I would wait as you are probably busy with other orders. Though, I would like to buy two packages of rabbit meat from you today if I can," he said. He shifted his weight slightly before he shook her hand. His grip was firm.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Reagan. You have a lovely name," he paused. Blake look down at Benjamin. "It is nice to meet you too Benjamin. I hope you are enjoying the fish," he said. Though he doubted the bear understood him. He wondered if the bear even notice he was being spoken to. Benjamin seem to be completely distracted by the fish. Blake looked up at Reagan and gave her another smile. "Benjamin doesn't look mean or scary at all. I guess creatures at home like to exaggerate. Only thing true about him is that he is big," he said with a soft laugh.

He told her he was a patient man and she went and took them off the twine and laid them on her workbench carefully. She went and grabbed her knifes and sharpened them as he began to speak again. "I can make a blanket, Shouldn't take me too long. Maybe a day or so at most. Once I've skinned them you can have the meat." He glanced down at the motionless rabbits "Rabbits make the blankets." She grinned thinking of her own blanket at home. She had made one for herself and Benny. She thought about his hand shake and how firm he had been. He had to be a carpenter or something, she thought to herself, he had such calloused hands.

"I'm happy to meet you as well Blake. If you want you can have a seat or go out for a bit of a walk I don't mind." She told him as she sat again once her workstation and began with the first rabbit. Her skilled hand moved the knife over the fur cutting in and creating a place for her to slip the animal meat out of. As she did he spoke to her again, or actually Benny. Benny looked up at Blake and looked at him with his dark eyes for a moment and then lowered his head again, he grumbled softly and Reagan broke out into another small laugh. "Benny is harmless, he's a big sucker for cuddling and what not." She told him as she slipped the first rabbit from its skin and put it into a bag and laid the skin on a drying rack for now. She moved onto the next one.

"So Blake, Tell me about yourself. Work always goes by faster with good conversation." Reagan looked up at him and she studied him a moment and then looked back down at her work. Benny was done his fish and he bumped Blake lightly as thanks and then made his way back outside again to sleep.

"Well I will come in a day for the blanket then. That sounds great, I will wait for the meat. Rabbit fur is very soft. I imagine their pelts would make an amazing blanket," he stated. He pondered if he should take a walk or stay. He decided he would leave in a bit to hand out the rest of his invitations.

Blake watched with some interest as she cut the rabbit. She was very skilled with the knife. 'I bet she would make a good Solider with the way she uses that knife. She'd probably be good at skinning humans,' he thought. He was pulled out of his thoughts when he felt the bear look at him.

He gave the bear a small smile when he grumbled. Blake looked at Reagan when she laughed again. He watched Benny as she spoke. "I do errands for the king like handing out invitations and whatnot," he said. Blake laughed when Benny bumped him. He watched the bear until he left. Blake walked up behind Reagan to watch her work. It was somewhat entertaining.

"There isn't really much to say about myself. I am just a simple creature. I don't have much to say about myself. Though, I am good at playing the flute, my mother taught me," he said. He didn't mind giving out that tiny bit of information. After a few minutes of watching her he decided to leave. He walked over to his bag and picked it up. "I will be back. I am going to finish handing out the invitations I have left," he said.

Then he picked up the bag, waved bye to Reagan, and then left the hut. He moved around quickly as he handed out the invitations. Blake felt accomplished when he handed out the last invitation. He carefully folded the bag. Then he tucked the leaves carefully into a fold of the bag. 'I should buy ale just in case I go over to Alys's. Though, even if I don't, ale is always good to have,' he thought. Blake bought a few bottles of ale before he went home.

Once he was home, he put most of the ale away. He grabbed his leather brown knapsack. Inside he put a bottle of ale, his flute, a black leather jacket, two daggers in their sheaths, and the bag with the leaves in it. 'I think I have everything I need for now. I could always come back later,' he thought. He swung the bag over his shoulder and left his home. He headed back towards the hut.

"I'm back Reagan," he said as he entered the hut. Blake went and leaned against a wall. He looked at what she was doing now. He wanted to know how much progress she had made. "So, do you know what you are going to wear to the ball?" he questioned. His eyes wandered around the hut again.

Reagan listened as he spoke of what he did and a little bit about himself. All she thought were nice qualities. She didn't want to question his relationship with the king and people here seemed quite sensitive about it so she kept silent about that but all the same wondered what it would be like to work in such close condfidance with the king. Surely it must be exciting. When he told her that he played the flute she broke into a grin just as she slipped the second skin off the animal. That was cute, she told herself. A guy like him playing the flute.

After a moment he told her he would be back in a bit and she waved farewell to him. When he was gone Benny moved back inside of her hut and he sat down and looked at her. She glanced up at him as she set the skin next to the other one she had done previously. "he seems nice." she spoke to Benny like she would any person. Benny offered her a grunt in response and she nodded like she understood him.

She worked all the while he was gone, skinning the next few rabbits and setting the meat aside for him. The bloody bags were leaning against the wall and Benjamin looked at them hungrilly. She sighed softly and threw him a spare rabbit she had skinned already and he took it outside to eat. She was cleaning the furs when Blake stepped back in "hello Blake." she looked up at him and smiled and then returned to her work. "I've got the rabbit meat ready for you." she pointed with her foot as to where it was and she watched out of the corner of her eye as he leaned against the wall and asked her what she was going to wear to the ball.

At that the question she stopped what she was doing and straightened up to think. "I have a dress that I normally wear but Benjamin bit it last time and now it has a lovely hole in it." she didn't bother to mention where as she didn't think it appropriate to tell him that there might be two full moons the night of the ball. Instead she sighed and said "I shall have to buy a new one. Maybe a nice green one." she smiled at the thought of a nice dress and looked at him "I suppose you shall be all fancy as well. I think you would look good dressed up Blake." she told him. "Almost as good a Benny." she joked. She returned to her work and began to brush the mat's out of the fur.

Blake nodded and walked over to the bags. He slid his bag off, placed it on the floor, and then put the rabbit meat inside. Once he closed his bag, he looked at Reagan. "How much do I own you?" he asked. He put his bag against the wall. He had a feeling he would be here for a little while more. Blake went back to lean against the wall. He watched Reagan as she spoke.

"Ah, Benjamin bit your dress, maybe you could have it mended. I wonder why a bear would bite a dress...animals are odd," he paused as he slid his hands into his pocket, "Green is a nice color, it would look nice on you I bet."

He stretched out as he rolled his shoulders back. "I will be wearing a suite. You could probably put a tie or bow-tie on Benny," Blake stated. He watched as she brushed the fur.

"How do you kill the animals you sell? Do you give them a quick painless death?" he questioned. He sat on the ground and pulled his flute out of his bag. He looked it over, it still looked brand new. It was his mother's. She had given it to him when he began to learn to play. Since then Blake had always take care of it.

Reagan let out a long breath and said "Five gold please." She got up and went to wash her hands off in a bucket of water and wiped them on a towel. She saw him leaning against the wall and went over to him to accept the money. "Benny and I had gotten in a bit of an argument one night and he paid me back by going through my clothes and tossing them all over the place. She shrugged and looked out of the hut towards the bear and then back at him. "I got him back though." she assured him with a flash of a grin.

"Benny would kill me if I put a bow tie on him." she chuckled. "But I'm sure you will look very nice." She summoned up her courage and said "Maybe you'll even save me a dance?" She asked.

She shrugged when he asked about her kills and said "Well I aim to kill but sometimes I miss and the animals suffer." Reagan watched as he went to sit down and she moved back towards her work station as he pulled out a flute. She wondered if he would play and said "Do you know how to play?" she asked him. "Benny and I love music." She said.
