Full cheetah form, though he is thinner now. Born and bred for speed his legs are long and powerful, paws strong, he is easily distracted by fast moving prey and his chase instinct is sharp as a tack. His eyesight however has become almost completely ruined due to the testing and inability to hunt run and follow his instinct has turned him into an unpredictable creature, surly and withdrawn.
6. Backstory:
Val has been there for a long time. He and Lyle were taken not long apart timewise so both bare the scars and marks physically and mentally of their stay. Lyle's scars seemed to have left permanent mental distress meanwhile Val's body has all but given up on him. Val was hunted and kidnapped after a trip to America from South Africa, his parents had brought him there to widen his view of the world, they have long since assumed he'd died either alone, by a hunter, or in the hands of some child predator. Cheetah's are amazing creatures on their own, their speed and loping grace has always captivated humanity. The scientists wanted to milk him for every bit of knowledge he could offer and had him run for them repeatedly again and again and again on tredmils and scanners to map his movements, performing all kinds of explorative and experimental surgeries on his body. His hip and shoulder joints have an amplitude of problems and his eyes are failing him. He's not blind but his eyesight is so poor now that he can no longer make out faces without the aid of voices. He can't tell the difference between a human and a therian except for smell and he probably couldn't hunt on his own with freedom.
Unlike Lyle, Val has completely subdued to their treatments. He doesn't interact with rebellious Therians in the rare moments he does decide to talk. The first three escapes Val had tried to help but as his eyes started to go so did his will to survive on the outside. What is the point of a blind cheetah? You can't run. If you can't run you can't hunt and you're as good as dead anyways.
