"You say 'I don't know if you hacked into Area 51', so let me ask you, how do you know I didn't?"

Description

Full Name: Aaron Payton Dunbar
Age: 20
Ability: Techie
Appearance: Image

Has been with the agency for: 7 years
Team: Team 1
Room: 202B
Roommate: Tristan Knight

Bio: Aaron was born in Thurso, Scotland with just his mom. He has never met his dad and his mom changed the story of what happened to him every time she told the story, so eventually Aaron just stopped asking. They lived in Thurso till Aaron was 8 and then immigrated (illegally) to America and from there around the country. The two never stayed in a area for too long for fear of getting caught; they traveled around in a jeep and slept there too, watching the stars at night if they could. Because they were always on the run, Aaron learned to hack at a very young age, and hack anything from ATM machines to the hardest fire walls. While on the run, they stopped in California where his mother started to notice things about him, he was 11 at this time, and soon after she noticed these new developments, Aaron came out that he was gay. His mom had full support for him, though she was nervous for his safety after hearing horror stories of what happened to others. This is what got his mother to join the "Human Rights for LGBT" group.

That year was full of new things and it all started with Aaron's coming out. After that Aaron began to develop the personality he has now, cocky, a rule-breaker (the hacking ultimately started this), a joker whom rarely takes things seriously, and beyond intelligent when it comes to technology, just to name his most noticeable traits. His mother had her hands full with him in this stage as he was just beginning to break rules and lie and god knows what else. Then the government started to take notice in the two finding out that they are illegal immigrants. They had a trial and were found guilty, ready to be deported back to Thurso, Scotland when Slade Industries came up and talked to the two about the possibility that Aaron could join them. In their discussion the two Representatives from Slade Industries said they had been tracking for the two of them for years and keeping an eye out for Aaron's specific style of hacking, they were more than mildly impressed by what he achieved. His mother was sad at the thought of leaving her son, but she knew that she didn't want him to also be deported so she agreed.

Aaron went with them, saying goodbye to his mother and seeing her for the last time since then. He trained with them for three years before he actually joined and them and in this time his skills with technology grew, his mentors finding "little" trinkets he designed. Now having worked for Slade Industries for seven years, Aaron is able to move around everybody's computers with ease and was able to set up what is considered one of the most sophisticated fire walls anybody has ever seen. The people higher up have taken note of his improvements, his weaknesses (following rules and thinking things through), and his strengths (creativity, thinking outside the box, and willing to try new things on the spot). People like Aaron and especially when you get to know him, he becomes less arrogant to the amount that makes him more charming than annoying. Though he still listens to Heavy Metal so loud when he works (which seems to be, ironically, more at night) that people do get pissed at him quite a bit still. He's easy going and puts a hundred-percent into everything he does, so you know that if he does something he'll do it until he feels that it's perfect or beyond.

So begins...

Aaron snored lightly as his face was smashed against the keyboard, his computer screen still zipping away as if nothing had changed when he fell asleep. His roommate had already left for breakfast without so much as a twitch coming from Aaron. That was one thing that made Aaron an easy roommate was, if he was sufficiently tired, he would be able to sleep through nearly anything; and last night he was very tired. He had spent all night working on a new firewall for Slade Industries and by the time he was nearly done and just had to test it out, that's what the computer was doing right now.

A small, happy ting came from his computer, shaking Aaron out of his sleep. He looked up and saw the results of his firewall. He smiled at his little victory of, once again, outsmarting the computer. He stretched and quickly pasted the new design onto flash drives, or FOB's as he liked to call them, for the other two techies he'd recently met; Cassandra and Faith. He figured this out years ago that it was best to have two techies who are also mastermind hackers look to see if they could get through because computers could be manipulated so easily if done by the right person.

While the FOB's uploaded his firewall, Aaron went and pulled on a grungy T-shirt and brushed his teeth, leaving his messy hair and untrimmed beard for all to see; he really didn't care either way, it was morning and after a long night of working and all he wanted was some black coffee. After he figured himself decent enough and checked the status of the uploads, they weren't quite done so he left them wired to his computer while he went down to get some breakfast.

Aaron came into the dining hall, barefoot as always because he found shoes to be a ridiculous invention, and went straight to the food bar, there he plopped a blueberry scone onto his plate and went to the coffee where he proceeded to mix his black coffee with two shots of espresso, and the good kind from southern Italy he was very clear about that to the people who imported the coffee. When this was done he got today's newspaper and walked over to everyone else seeing his roommate Tristan there, among others his half asleep brain couldn't comprehend. He gave everyone and nod and began to drink his coffee and read today's events. He liked to keep up on the political events of day and see if there were any suggestions he could give them. After he and his ma had moved to America, she told him all about how America was made by the people, for the people, and that if there was something the government was doing that they didn't like they had the right to over throw them. Aaron took bit of information seriously and since then has been looking for all the government's mistakes in order for him to correct them. This annoyed the government greatly because he had, somehow, broken through all their defenses and is now able to be on the Conference Calls with them on video chat; and they don't know how to block him. Today there was nothing new, so he would let the president be free of him for today.

He looked up from his coffee, "So how is everyone today?" he asked, now that he had a decent amount of caffeine, some would say too much, in him, he was ready to talk and be human.

It had only taken a few minutes for Erin to be surrounded by people. Not that she disliked them, it was just that she felt too tired to be social at the moment. She yawned at turned to Tristan. "Hey, last night. How about you? No missions lately?" She was just starting to feel herself wake up a little more, but then Elle showed up.

She groaned, and cupped her face in her hands, telling herself over and over that the walking ray of sunshine wouldn't get to her today. Erin put her hands down and turned to Elle, smiling. "'Morning." Now that that was over with, Peyton showed up. She didn't understand how 'morning people' even existed. "It went well, completely successful." Erin stretched and yawned. "It's Green Arrow and Black Canary."

Jeong had already been there for a while, but no one had said anything to her yet. It didn't take long for Aaron to show up, asking how everyone was. "Dead." Erin rested her head on the table. She wasn't normally a whiner, but she just felt like shit today. Her body ached and her head was ringing. It was a miracle that she was even able to get out of bed.

Elle sipped from her orange juice as more and more people entered the room. First Jeong Ji, then Peyton-she guessed she had woken her- then Aaron and Faith joined Erin, Tristan and her. The group was happily chatting, other than Erin, who seemed somewhat annoyed. Elle didn't blame her. Before she changed, she hadn't been much of a morning person either. She was an everyday-for-the-rest-of-eternity kind of girl now.

Lucas walked in and sat down the long table, farther away from the group. She felt his eyes on her briefly, but she noticed when he dropped his gaze. She wasn't sure what she felt about him. She wasn't sure if it was friendship, or something more. She shoved her thoughts aside for the time being. The missions ahead were more important.

She listened to the quiet chatter and occasionally chimed in, but usually just kept to herself. She was thoughtful today. She didn't know why. Today was probably the day where she spent all of her time in the gym or swimming. A workout day. She enjoyed those, always quiet, but she wanted a partner. Elle dug into her breakfast and listened to the happy chatter of her fellow agents.

Aaron listened while the others made plans for the day, one asked their leader about any new missions. 'This is a good question,' he thought, it had been months since his last one, mostly because he'd been there longer so they thought he would be able to handle the really dangerous stuff and nothing that terribly threatening had happened for a long while. He looked over and saw another one of the techies, Faith, sitting by herself. Of course this didn't surprise him because being a techie himself he knew the lure of a social life wasn't as strong as hacking into an elite system, but that's just him. He got up, placing the scone in his mouth to be carried and dropping off the newspaper and plate before heading towards the other computer geek.

He sat down with no words, across from Faith and chewed the mouthful of scone. She appeared to not have really noticed him all too much, which again was expected; she was wearing head phones and engrossed in her laptop. After a while of waiting, Aaron got bored, he never really was all to patient with other people, but with computers that was a different story.

"So Faith," he began, taking a sip of his ultra caffeinated coffee, "I have a new firewall for the industry and it passed the computer test and I was wondering if you could take a look at it? You know, try hacking it yourself and all." He wasn't sure if she had heard this and was nearly positive that he might have to repeat himself a couple more times before the girl would answer back. Until then he was as content as a cucumber just sitting there and drinking his coffee.

Watching everyone file in for breakfast made her somewhat wish she could be closer friends with them. Her roommate, Jeong, was much more social than Faith ever would be. Her eyes land on Lucas, normally Faith didn't let emotions get in the way of her work but Lucas had an aura about him that she couldn't help but be drawn in by. But, of course, she would never say anything... She notices Lucas was more looking towards Elle

Faith sighed, shrugging off her jacket, her razor back tank exposing her angel wing tattoos and she throws her jacket in her bag. Flicking the bangs out of her eyes, she looks up, realizing Aaron had been sitting there the entire time.

"So Faith," he began, taking a sip of his ultra caffeinated coffee, "I have a new firewall for the industry and it passed the computer test and I was wondering if you could take a look at it? You know, try hacking it yourself and all."

"Oh geez," She takes off her headphones and smiles a bit, "Hey Aaron....Sorry... I just..." he mentions something about the new firewall.

"Oh, yeah..." She smiles a bit, "I mean, I could definitely try."

Faith wan't one to toot her own horn about things, but she was an expert hacker. Of course Aaron was as much of an expert, maybe even better. She smiles a bit, taking a sip of her own coffee.

As usual, Cassandra wasn't sleeping at five o'clock in the morning. Since she could only ever manage a whole four hours, maximum, of sleep per night she had a tendency to use the time she should have been sleeping to play around with her computer. Like now, for instance, she was still sitting at her desk, tapping on the keys lightly with her fingertips and scrolling down each page she came to, in an attempt to cure her boredom as her room mate moved about in the room around her. After a few more minutes of this she felt her stomach growl in protest, causing her to realize it had been quite some time since she had eaten last, and she closed the browser and turned the computer off.

Her room mate, Skyler, tended to meditate at least once a week, which she was doing now. It was something Cassandra found easy to ignore as she got up from her chair with a sigh and, after placing her earphones in her ears, she blasted her music. She carried her iPod around as she found a simple outfit to wear for the day; a pair of dark-washed skinny jeans with a white belt and a black tank top to match her jeans, not bothering to shower for the second time within the hours as she knew it was a waste of water and time. Cassandra pulled on a pair of mismatched ankle socks, hardly noticing the blue and purple polka dots on one sock nor the green and white stripes on the other, before she shoved her feet in her plain white sneakers. She ran a brush through her long wavy golden hair before closing her laptop and tucking it into her bag as she left the room to go find something to eat, leaving Skyler to mutter in Korean to herself.

She took the stairs, as usual, but arrived to the cafe a mere two minutes after closing the door to the room she had to share. She said nothing as she walked in and found a seat, taking another few minutes to decide what on Earth she wanted to eat.. Finally settling on a piece of toast topped with strawberry jam and some yogurt, preferring to enjoy the simple things in life.

The 'techie' listened to the goings ons around her as she nibbled on her toast and spooned little portions of vanilla yogurt into her mouth, enjoying the mixture as her eyes glanced around. There was Faith and Aaron, the other 'techie's. The rest she didn't usually bother much with, preferring to stick to what she knew, though she was polite enough to them all.

Aaron smiled, "Well alright," he said, a Scottish lilt to his voice still ever present, though not as noticeable as when he was angry, scared, or sad. "We'll have to go to my room because the FOB's are still loading it up for you and Cassandra...speaking of which." He looked over and saw their third techie sitting alone and eating breakfast, he waved her over to come join the rest of the 'Team Geek', as he liked to refer to them as.

"I decided years ago that just because a program passes the computer tests doesn't mean it's fool proof and the best way to test it is get the best hackers to try and break into it. Of course I would help, but that would be cheating since I created the program, you know?" he rambled. He wasn't a horrible chatterer with the others, but with the other techies he found it was easy for him to over talk, mostly because they understood what he was talking about and got excited about the things he got excited about. That was one thing he like about the industry was that it automatically gave you a small group of people who had something in common with you, making it easier to feel more comfortable. Though not completely safe from home-sickness, of course he never had a home technically, so he was more 'ma-sick'.

"So any interesting projects the industry has you working on?" Aaron asked Faith, re-noticing that her laptop was open.

The blonde heard her name and looked up, her eyes immediately going to Aaron and Faith where they sat across the room with the male waving for her to join them. She stood and, pulling her bag onto her shoulder, grabbed the bowl of her yogurt before she walked over and took a seat at their table with a smile. With, of course, a bottle of water in her hand. It was either sickly sweet tea, with five or more scoops of sugar, or water... or hot chocolate, but that was a story for another, preferably rainy, day.

" Morning," Cassandra said easily as she lightly placed her bag back on the floor, making it rather obvious to the other two techie's that her beloved laptop was within the dark material. " Got a new program to crack?" She asked cheerfully before scooping some of her plain vanilla yogurt into her mouth, her blue eyes dancing eagerly despite her rather normal lack of sleep. She listened as Aaron had continued speaking, feeling like she was gaining more energy with each word. Normal people thought they were weird but, hey, what else was Cassandra, at least, supposed to do when she couldn't sleep anymore? Eat away her boredom?

No. She much preferred the alternative; creating and cracking codes, hacking into others' computers and playing games online and alone. Reading was another favourite past time, as was music, but technology always came first.

Faith listens and her eyes flicker over towards Cass as she sits down next to the them.

"So any interesting projects the industry has you working on?" Aaron asks, his eyes examining her laptop. She shrugs.

"Nothing big, but I just finished a demo for a new game my friends and I are working on." She turns her laptop towards Aaron for him to check it out. The graphics were realistic, a first person shooter.

Aaron gently tilted the laptop towards him to see the screen better. He knew how laptops could be to a techie, like instruments to a musician, just as delicate and personal, so he was sure not to offend Faith by doing this. He looked at the screen, the graphical design was amazing, every little thing was rendered down to the last detail so perfectly that it not only looked like you were there, but your brain told you that you were there.

"This is amazing," Aaron whispered as if he were afraid if he spoke to loudly it would disrupt the pixels and destroy this masterpiece. He turned the computer back towards Faith, "Let me know when you have it done, I definitely want to try that out." He looked at his watch, checking to see if the FOB's had had enough time to loud; and by his calculations, they should be just about finished baking.

He clapped his hands together and rubbed them a bit, "Well, I think the FOB's are ready for you two lovely and extremely intelligent women," he said standing up, "Let's see just how genius I am and put the firewall to the test shall we?"

Aaron's face seemed to drop a bit when he saw her new demo and she smiled with pride.

"This is amazing, let me know when you have it done, I definitely want to try that out." He hands Faith back her computer and she nods a small 'thank you' escaping her lips.

He clasps his hand together and claims the FOB's were ready and Faith packs her things into her messenger bag, "Let's see just how genius I am and put the firewall to the test, shall we?"

"Well, I don't see why not, Faith stands putting her messenger bag on one shoulder and she picks up her coffee cup, turning to Cassandra.

"So, how are you this morning, Cass?" She asks with a small smile.

The blonde had sat silently, finishing her typical small meal as she patiently waited and watched the other two techie's. As Aaron took over Faith's laptop Cassandra lifted her water bottle and, after unscrewing the lid, took a large gulp of the liquid. It was nectarine flavoured and overly sweet, of course; just the way the sleep deprived teenager loved it.

" Well, I think the FOB's are ready for you two lovely and extremely intelligent women," he said standing up, "Let's see just how genius I am and put the firewall to the test shall we?" Cassandra couldn't help the smile that overcame her lips at the sight of Aaron rubbing his hands together and stood with him and Faith, her hand firmly wrapped around her water bottle while she slipped her own bag onto her other shoulder. " Let's go," she agreed as Faith turned to her and smiled.

" So, how are you this morning, Cass?"

Cassandra shrugged and raised the plastic container she held, " The same; no sleep, lots of sugar, and still feeling like I can take on the world." She let out a light laugh as she responded, even her bright blue eyes lighting up to show she was genuinely pleased to be asked such a simple question. " How are you? ... And you too, of course?" She turned her head to Aaron as well but was mainly focused on Faith, the one who had asked.
