Rin is a bit of an odd person. Well, in a stranger's eyes, she's more than odd. To a stranger, at first glances, she may look like a depressed and threatening girl at first, despite her young appearance which could probably do little harm to a regular human. Perhaps from her natural red eyes? Or maybe it's her mask she may wear time to time? Or is it the fact that she lacked a lot of sleep? Probably because she listened to her music so often? No, it was all of it. Just her whole appearance in general. Though many people say its bad to judge at first sight, people also judge Rin to be a scary person, someone who you wouldn't want to hang around. And half of that is true. If she were to be paired up with a stranger somehow, she'd not say a word and just get things over with before leaving again. She also can't hear very much because her music is so loud, making it harder to communicate with her. But that's just because she doesn't like awkward situations, so she raises up her music and quickly finishes things up before leaving.
But towards Rin's friends, she a whole different person. She'll laugh and smile without hesitating. Heck, she'll even laugh at the corniest and simplest jokes. Mostly, this is because she didn't have much family as a child, referring to her bio, and her friends became her new family, meaning just about anything they did made her happy. Well... perhaps not everything. Some of them were lazy, and since she absolutely couldn't take laziness, she'd always give them lectures about doing things on task and on time, the first time they were asked. Especially with her meister since he always lacks the enthusiasm to do things. She's almost like a motherly figure, in some way, being much more responsible than most people, and much more active as well, even though she'll just play games in her free time, including scolding people for not taking care of themselves, such as Malcolm, which gives her that motherly or teacher-like aura.
Yet, even with these two different personalities, Rin is truly a dark person. Well, she's not dark herself, but her thoughts are. Why? No one knows but her, and even she hardly knows which gives her confusion and causes her frustration. Obviously, she doesn't tell anyone of this and hides it behind a wall of lies, but she really has dark thoughts. This is because of the 'voices' she's been hearing, ever since the death of her family, or the family she truly loved in the beginning. But ever since then, she's been hearing voices. Rin doesn't know the source, even with trying to search for so long, but she's been listening to them, and sometimes even following their orders which normally led her to good luck; most times. To block out these voices, she listens to her music, and loud, to block out all sound. It helps, just a little, which is why without her music, she'd become afraid of everything. It's one of the reasons Rin doesn't let anyone get their hand too close to her, in fear they'll take off her headphones, and she'll only hear the same voices but louder.

Rin really, really, really hates thinking about the past. Why? Well, obviously there's got to be a reason, a very important one to hate the past, especially if she hates all of it, even the word, or just the thought. Most of this is because things started out normal, but then fell into chaos within just a simple hour. Things changed too fast for her to adjust to, and she hates fast changed after all.
Things were normal. Yes, things were always normal, like normal kids who lived with normal parents. Rin grew up a little strangely, outside and not even close to DWMA, despite her mother and father meeting and working there. They were very close, the three of them, something you'd expect a real family to be like. Rin was a single child, though she didn't mind getting all the attention, most of it being positive despite her unusual eye color. You see, back then, she didn't hear the 'voices.'
Things were perfect. Things were great. Things were normal. That's how things were. That's how things should have went. That's how they wished things would have went until an accident happened when Rin was only 13 years old, exactly, on the day of her birthday really. It was just a regular night, nothing out of order, nothing strange, but while she slept in her room, she heard a strange noise outside. She ignored it. But a second later, it didn't stop. She finally got up and went to ask her parents what it was, but when she got to the door and opened it up, she found her mother being crushed underneath this huge kishin egg, and no, it wasn't an egg. It was the beginning of a god that could kill everything and everyone.
Rin began to scream, a normal reaction if a child were to see a demon pinning their mother to the ground. Her father could have done something, anything, but he did nothing, only apologizing to the two and running off, leaving Rin and her mother with the monster that would soon kill them both. Because of Rin's scream, the Kishin Egg had turned its attention away from her mother, giving her an opportunity which she took, grabbing her daughter and running, following almost the exact tracks her husband took who had left the two to die.
But they were too slow, and the Kishin Egg had caught up to the both of them. The first target was her mother, who died immediately once she was scrapped on her back from this demonic creature. All Rin did was close her eyes, awaiting the same fate, and passed out in the process. When she woke up, she was in an entirely different place, also known as DWMA.
She was told what happened, and luckily got away with a few bruises and scars on her body, especially her back. Since then, she began to hear those 'voices' that she could never make out. At first, it scared her, half to death, until she was given something; headphones. Listening to music help cover the voices, and eventually, she got used to the blurred sounds she could hardly make up. Rin later joined the DWMA to take revenge on her mother, find her father, and find the sources of the 'voices' she never understood. It's also where she met her current partner, Malcolm Fate.
Obviously, she hasn't told anyone about her true three goals, keeping them all a secret in fear she'd be left behind for such a pathetic or lame goal. So all she does is continue to pursue it when no one notices, or when no one is looking, proceeding to process after all the years she's been waiting to find the actual answers to everything. Although it's all moving slowly, Rin does believe she'll reach all the sources and be able to live peacefully, as she did before as a little girl.
Other: Yes, Rin's eyes are that natural red. It was an accident in the far past that began to be passed down from child to child from genetics ever since. She got it from her mother apparently.
Relationships: Rin's mother was probably the most important person to her in the whole entire world, especially because they were both weapons and weapons of guns. But sadly, that only made the parting of death even harsher for Rin to take in when she was younger.
Though, her father is a whole different situation. Becuase he left them in a dire time, Rin has a dead set hatred towards him, not knowing if he's a live or not.
"If that bastard is dead I'll be angry. He won't be allowed to die of old age. I'm the only one who will end it, and I'll guarantee that when I find him."
