GENERAL APPEARANCE
Kohaku likes to describe himself as a "plain, cool singer" and nothing else, which was partly due to his usual outlooks. True enough, he usually just put up an appearance that helps him not to stand out very much in a crowd. Standing at a rather average height for someone of his age, Kohaku possessed slim, yet agile, build. This is thanks to the usage of his artifact.
He is spotted to have natural brown hair, something that he inherited from his late mother, and the couple of red eyes, from his father. These can be considered his most striking features, and are the firsts that one may notice about him. While Kohaku has a fair skin, some scars can be seen on his arms and legs, if one pays enough attention.
In terms of attire, Kohaku is mostly seen in his uniform - the very clothes he wore when he died. Some might say that it's boring, but he just doesn't care much about fashion, that's all.
" It is fate that had led us to this world, of all places. "
◇ Calm ◇ Serious ◇ Distant ◇ Polite ◇ Caring ◇
The first impression people usually get when they met Kohaku is the fact that he exuded a calm and tranquil aura. In any situation, he can always keep a straight face and rarely did he ever lose his temper. Always putting up a stern expression, he's someone who takes whatever he does or says seriously. The same can be said when questioned about his love for singing and music, or when fighting against the Thoryvós.
Kohaku prefers to keep to himself and doesn't even bother to try and make any effort to befriend anyone. Most of the time, he would retain a good distance with everyone, even his comrades. However, he's nowhere a rude person, as he's the most gentlemanly person one could possibly come across. He had never seen raising his voice against someone, and would always keep a certain amount of politeness and formality in his speech.
However, despite coming off as a cold person, Kohaku actually has a caring side of his, which he seldom directly shown. In his opinion, it suits him better to look after his friends from behind, rather than to be straightforward about it.
" Immerse in my melody, wade in my voice, listen to my heart. "
◇ Solitude : Kohaku prefers to be by himself to collect his thoughts and think about life, rather than having some companies.
◇ Reading : It has always been a hobby for Kohaku ever since he was a kid, other than singing.
◇ Piano : Playing a melody never stops to help Kohaku to calm his mind and recollect his usual composure, and he would play it almost everyday.
◇ Coffee : Kohaku doesn't remember since when he had taken an addiction in it, but he loves coffee, nonetheless.
◇ Crowds : It's not really that Kohaku has a phobia, but standing where there's a lot of people is uncomfortable and stuffy.
◇ Noises : They gave Kohaku headaches and made him lost his concentration within just minutes.
◇ Arrogance : Nobody is perfect, Kohaku is well aware of that and he secretly holds a disdain towards anyone who thought they're on top of the world.
◇ Cucumber : There isn't anything to it, Kohaku just hates it.
◇ Kendo : Kohaku is well-verse in this martial art, thus enables him to utilize his artifact efficiently.
◇ Cooking : Having spent most of his life living by his own, this is the least Kohaku needs to know, and he's really good at it.
◇ Selflessness : Kohaku tends to throw himself in front of a sword for his comrades, whether intently or not.
◇ Neutrality : Kohaku finds himself in an uncertain circumstances wheneve he is forced to take sides, and most of the times would stand on a neutral ground.
" Together, we will sing to wake up the sunrise. "
Kohaku is the bearer of Yasakani no Magatama - the Crystal of Creation. Long ago, this crystal was said to be created by a sun goddess. With its' power, the goddess had given birth to all beings, both living and non-living. As eons passed, the crystal was passed down from generations to generations, waiting for someone to awaken it once again. And, it has chosen Kohaku as its' rightful owner.
Originally, Yasakani no Magatama has a form of a red curved, comma-shaped crystal that resembles a half of the yin-yang. But when it was awakened by Kohaku's voice, it took the shape of a bracelet that can only be removed on Kohaku's accord when he wears it.
Whenever the artifact is activated by Kohaku's song, it will gain him the ability to manifest many kinds of weapons he could think of. When this happens, the hand wearing the bracelet would be wrapped with silver linings, and the weapon he wishes to conjure will appear in matter of seconds.
Most of the time when he's engaged in combat, Kohaku will create a long, broad sword, which are capable of firing powerful energy blasts strong enough to cut through even hard substances like rock or metals. At his zenith, which signifies by his irises turning crimson red and the silver linings surrounding him, his power can be quite destructive.
There are, however, several weaknesses to this relic. Kohaku can only activated Yasakani no Magatama at a range of 10 meters should he ever taken the bracelet off his hand. The amount of strength and the damage he could dealt with the artifact depend on how loud and clear his singing voice is, which means, the more his voice become blurred and hoarse, the more it will also become weaker. Using it in a long amount of time can also be very taxing on Kohaku's vitality, which may lead him to collapse if he overexerts himself.
" Until I can't stand again, my voice will echo to the far blue sky. "
Kohaku is someone who lives for the present, and for that, he doesn't want to talk or to be reminded of the past life that had been so much of a distant memory now. It is indeed a sad tale and Kohaku felt that perhaps it might be better for him to completely forgot about it the moment he was reborn into this new world.
He was born as the first son of a well-off family, under the wings of a loving couple. He grows up with the angelic voice of his endearing mother and found his own happiness in her encouraging songs and the lullabies that sent him into his sleep every night. He soon discovered his own talent for singing and have come to loved it even as a young boy. As an innocent child back then, Kohaku wishes for nothing more than for it to last forever. But, little did he know of the first tragedy that soon will struck him.
One day, his brother was sick and his mother took a bus to take him to the hospital. It was the fateful bus that got crashed in a terrible accident, killing every of its' passengers, including Kohaku's beloved mother and younger brother. He was heartbroken, but the one affected by their sudden deaths the most was his father. He soon abandoned the only son he got left, to immerse himself in his busy works as a mean to forget about his pain. Since then, Kohaku rarely ever saw his father, even in their own house, as he only left him the money to pay for anything he needed. It was here that a new life of isolation and loneliness began for him.
Kohaku changes completely after that incident. He become distant and had no friends at school. He was constantly laughed at and bullied. No one understands him and the wound in his heart could only become deeper and deeper. In a way, he just simply existing, not living. The only thing that make him truly feels alive is music. He would usually climb to the rooftop of the school, where no one would find him, to sing, again and again. But fate seemed to have led him to meet the most unexpected of people.
It was a boy who had always been secretly listening to his songs. Kohaku couldn't be more surprised when he saw him revealed himself. Declaring that he will make Kohaku fall in love with him, the boy had lightened up the small flame of happiness thought to have vanished long ago. Of course, at first, he deemed him as nothing more than an annoyance and constantly push him away. But thanks to the boy's persistence, he had finally fallen in love. For the first time ever in his life. Those were the happiest moments in his life, but once again, fate stripped away from him his most precious thing.
His lover died of some kind of disease. It was the only thing that Kohaku knows. The wound thought to be healed bled again. As he ran out of the hospital, under the pouring rain, he ran across the street. And before he knew it, he was already lying on the ground, feeling number and number every minute as pain spread all over his body. A car had struck him hard. "I can finally be with them..." he thought before blackness clouded his vision as he felt that death was near.
But then, the black flower come to Kohaku, giving a chance for him to keep on singing. Would it matter now if he was to continue to intone? After all, everything ever mattered to him had gone. Yet, somehow, he still feel that his song shouldn't have just ended like this. And with just that single thought, he accepted the offer of the beautiful flower. And after an amount of time that Kohaku couldn't comprehend, he was reborn once again. Opening his eyes and Kohaku had already seen himself standing in the world of Rapsodía.
Wandering in the strange new world, Kohaku eventually come across with Queen Ardelia, who had set out to find him, and brought him to her castle along with another five people. She told them that they are the Divas and Divos, and that their a brand new life as fighters against the monstrous Thoryvós had begun. With the artifact Yasakani no Magatama granted to him, Kohaku felt like this truly is the life he was supposed to be born with. Without any regret, he grasps his sword tight, ready to obliterate any obstacles in his way.
