Pomona Davies

Her rough tree-like exterior encases the very sappy interior of a woman who cannot be judged by how she looks.

Description

Image

Name: Pomona Irene Davies

Alter-one of the three first

Age: 28

Batch Number: 0

Length at Institute: 14

Standing: Good

Appearance: She has skin the color of a river birch's bark, almost like warm honey, and when looking closely one can see her skin even has the slight texture of bark. Her nails are long and sharp, but she tries to keep them trim to keep from being dangerous. Protruding from her head are masses of tangled and unmanageable auburn locks which twine together with vines and flowers making it impossible to brush. Her build is slight, but very long and willowy. Her limbs are long and she has abnormally long fingers and toes. She has intoxicating hazel eyes with a surprising depth. When looking into them one almost feels as if they are looking into the depth of a forest. Her figure is curvy and has ears that point rebelliously. In her cheeks are soft circles as deep at times as the rind of a bright red apple.

Abilities/Gifts: The scientists discovered through experimenting on Pomona that mixing human DNA with plant DNA was futile. It caused harsh physical side effects and next to no positive enhancements. She has skin that is rough and bark-like and tangled with her hair are vines and flowers which constantly grow as if they were her hair. Even her ears and nails suffered from this mixture. The one thing she did acquire was photosynthesis and the ability to age very well. It was even hypothesized that she might have a longer life span than a normal human.

Weakness(es): Being half plant is difficult. Pomona cannot eat actual food. Her skin has to synthesize the sun to sustain her. She actually has no stomach because of this. If she is out of the sun for too long she will become very weak and could even die. Also her skin is bark-like. This is a very frustrating feature and causes problems when it comes to being around people and for simple tacks such as wearing clothes.

Personality: Pomona has gone through a great trauma in her life, and has spent a good majority of her years running from people who wish to lock her away as they did when she was a child, but despite all of this she is a very chipper and happy human being. Her spirits are never low. There is always a cheerful smile plastered upon her face, and it is almost impossible to find a situation which she cannot add a silver lining to. Her nature is easy going and friendly. She loves people and being friendly. However, her greatest despair in life is that she is unable to spend as much time socializing as she wishes; for, her appearance keeps her tucked away indoors. It's too striking for her to be often out in public and could tip off the people she is constantly hiding from

History: Words were just beginning to fall from little Pomona's lips making her bookish parents so proud. Not a day later they began to plan her bright future, but that bright future never came. The night the small toddler learned the word "book" she was playing peekaboo with herself in the sliding back doors when strange people came and scooped her up before her parents were even aware she was gone. For fourteen years after that she was locked away in the institute. After all that time she couldn't take it anymore and she and two others decided to escape together. They were successful, and she now owns a small apartment near the building to keep on the lookout for any other alters who might manage to escape as she had done.

Future Hobbies: She loves to weave. She can also sew and knit, but to make these activities possible she has to sand her fingertips, which is a bit of a painful process.

Other: Pomona was one of the first three alters taken to be experimented on. She was taken before any of the batches were brought to the institute. Ever since she has made it her personal goal to dig up enough information on the institute to bring it down.

So begins...

Pomona

The rough skin of her feet pounded against the ground, catching dead leaves and dry grass as she sped through the trees. She ignored the discomfort, focusing on shoving aside branches and undergrowth blocking her path instead. The wind her running created made the wide brimmed hat she wore to hide her skin useless as it flapped in the wind revealing her distorted, bark-like skin. Ragged breaths clawed their way up and down her esophagus, but she ignored the pain. Her mossy brown eyes raked through the tangled landscape for her objectives; they strained to find any hints of white among the vast green only broken up by the brown tree trunks. She knew her eyes would recognize the torturous white gowns of the institution the second she saw them.

"Where are you?" she wheezed under her breath as she stopped to lean against a tree, her skin almost blending in against the bark. Her breathing started to even as she surveyed the landscape while she rested, trying to use the pause to her advantage, but she found nothing. She didn't stay motionless for long. There was no time. The alters had escaped, but already they were being hunted. She had to find them before the hunters did. Not a minute had passed before her loose skirt was rustling against her legs as she once more sprinted through the forest in determination. She would find the other alters. She would save them.

Emery

"Come on, girl, you know where to go," Emery urged as he clung to the leash of his guide dog Rosie. The two of them weaved through the maze of trees, searching for the lost alters who had just managed to escape the institute. Despite the blur of color his world appeared to be Emery's feet moved with precision over the uneven forest floor. He and Rosie had made this trip many times in preparation for the day they would be making it in earnest: today.

Rosie's warm brown fur blended in with the forest floor, causing the plants to appear as if they were moving from a phantom wind. The only indication of Rosie's being there was her constant panting as she trudged before Emery, leading him to the part of the forest where the escaped alters would be wandering.

"Stay quiet, girl, don't scare them off." Emery reminded his four legged companion as a small yip bounced from the animal's jaws, indicating they were getting close. Emery's eyes squinted through the blur looking for the distinctive white of the institute gowns against the green of the forest, but he found nothing. He crossed the fingers of his free hand and sent out a pleading prayer begging the universe or whoever was listening for it not to be too late to save the other alters.

Just let us find them. He wished before focusing all his attention back on the search. Between he and Pomona he was sure they wouldn't fail.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Violet
Strands of white hair caught and stuck on the low hanging branches which reached out and clawed at Violet's face, trying to catch her the same way the scientists were. She knew they were already hunting her, but she wouldn't let them catch her. The instinct to escape was too strong. For years she'd been staring out the tiny barred window of her cell at the green leaves of the tree on the other side. Now she was surrounded by that green, and she wasn't going to give it up.
Her arms bore the proof of her trekk through the forest: covered in scratches and streams of blood, but the sight of it only inspired her. She was free. A multitude of emotions bubbled through her body, each of them fighting for her attention. Fear was almost always the most prevalent. Fear of getting caught, free of not knowing how to survive, fear of what this strange freedom would hold for her, but there was also joy. She couldn't help feeling ecstatic. She was free, finally free.
There were other alters who had escaped too. She'd seen them as she scaled the institute fence, but she hadn't stopped to help them or wait for them. Her most important objective was saving herself even if it meant the others would get captured again. After twenty two years in the institute Violet couldn't take it any longer. She had gotten out, and she wasn't going back.
Esme was startled as she heard the voice of a boy, a small squeak escaped her lips. The boy was on the other side of the bush, she peeked around it to see if she could get a good look of him. He was also dressed in a hospital gown like herself and he was very muscular and bigger then her. Just as she was going to run the other a way a girl jumped out of the tree, landing in front of the bush and she was unable to see the guy anymore. Listening to them speak she started taking a few steps back. She didn't know them, she couldn't trust them...what if they were them just trying to trick her.
Before the other two could say anything to her she was running on all four again, she wasn't sure how much longer she was going to last. She was getting tired, her throat was dry and she was feeling very parched. As she got farther into the forest it seemed to get darker. She was afraid to stop though, the hunters are out there and looking for her and the other alters that must of escaped.
As she was running she lost her footing again but this time she ran into someone. As she gathered herself up she was now looking up at a women that resembled a tree. Backing up against a big rock she felt she was trapped "P-pl…" she tried to speak but the words she wanted to speak were hard for her to get out "ea-ease n-noo h... urts" she stuttered out as she looked up at the older women.
She kept in her crouched position, trying to stay low believing that might help her. Her eyes never met the women's afraid that something may happen if she did. One question that kept popping in her head was why this women looked familiar to the other trees around, but she wasn't wearing a hospital gown. This had to be a hunter, maybe they were using alters and training them to be hunters. They had to be. "N...no m..e b..b...back" she tried to tell the women to not bring her back but she just couldn't make out the words.
The women would know she was different just by looking at her skin, the black and white tiger stripes have marked her. Making her a freak forever, even if she did make it out to the world she would have to stay hidden forever. The thought made her wonder if this running away was even worth it. The unwanted tears dripped down her cheek from her hazel eyes, making her look even more vunerable looking then she already was.
Pomona
Her heartbeat began to quicken as her feet took her closer to the institute, but still she found no alters.. Thoughts began to spin through her mind as she pressed on. She feared the alters had been captured before she and Emery could get to them. However, Silver had alerted them the moment the breech had occurred, unless the alters had been captured only moments after they had escaped there was no way she hadn't found them yet. Despite her doubts Pomona pressed forward, unwilling to give up her search. She wouldn't give up on these alters. They didn't deserve it.
A streak of white broke the monotony of the brown and green scene before her. It barreled right into her but backed away in fear a second later. Pomona looked down into the terrified face of a little girl dressed in a white-the institute's white gowns. Relief seeped into Pomona's veins as she looked down at the child. There was still hope. They hadn't been caught, but she could only imagine how frightened they all were. She could see the fear in this child's face as she tried to speak, begging Pomona not to hurt her and not to take her back. Careful not to make any quick movements to keep from scaring the child Pomona bent down and held out a hand to the little girl.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm like you. I'm from the institute. I escaped a long time ago. I'm here to help you. Tell me, are there others who got out?" The mottled green eyes were gentle as they looked at the little girl, willing the child to trust her.
Emery
Rosie's tale began to wag and she dragged Emery through the trees in a much less synchronized way than before. He didn't object. Instead he picked up his feet and matched her pace. She'd caught the scent of something, and he wasn't going to stop her. It could be one of the alters. The faster he found them the better.
"Where are they, Rosie. Show me!" he encouraged. Her tail wagged in response and her pace quickened even more. When she skidded to a halt it was so quick Emery almost fell on top of her, unable to stop in time. He caught and steadied himself as Rosie gave a few purposeful sniffs at the bush she stood in front of. Her wet nose wriggled it's way through the branches until it found a tuft of pink hair which she proceeded to lick. After a few more licks to the face of the owner of the pink hair she turned and sat down, looking at Emery with triumph. She had found what he had been looking for.
"Good girl," he murmured and gave her a pat before turning his attention to the bush behind her. "If someone's in there please don't be afraid. I'm here to help you. I'm from the institution too, like you, but I escaped a long time ago. I want to help if you'll let me." Emery stood very still, waiting for a response to come from the bush and hoping Rosie had not frightened it's occupant too much.
Violet
The sound of rustling sent Violet ducking behind a tree. Just as she disappeared from sight she saw a streak of pink whiz past then vanish into the green forest as fast as it had come. Unable to move from fear she stayed squatted behind her tree wondering if the streak of pink had been friend or foe. She couldn't be sure, and she couldn't be sure if they had truly gone, so she stayed in her hiding spot until she could be sure it was safe.
However, the forest filled once more with the sound of rustling. All the muscles in Violet's body tensed and she cursed the institute for causing her white hair. It could be the cause of her getting captured. It didn't blend into the green landscape at all. Crossing her fingers with one hand and holding onto her hair with the other to keep it from blowing around, she watched as a man and a dog traipsed through the forest before her. She tasted blood in her mouth after a few seconds and she realized she had been biting down on her lip to keep herself from letting out a moan of fear.
Neither man nor dog paid her any mind. They seemed to be too intent on their objective. Both of them rushed past her without even the slightest notice of her presence, but she could not feel full relief because only feet away they halted before a bush near where the pink blur had disappeared. She wondered if they were in pursuit of whatever the pink had been. She did not care as long as they did not find her.
As the women crouched down Esme eyes went wide, the women then reached out her hand to Esme. Esme just stared at the women unsure of what to do, there was no way she could run from the women. She was so much smaller and she was already tired. As the women spoke Esme body slightly relaxed but was still tensed. Could she trust this women? Was she telling the truth? The thoughts kept running wild in her mind as she tried to figure out what to do.
Tentively Esme reached our her bloody and shaky hand, leaves, grass, and dirt sticking to the sticky pads on them. Her hand slowly landed into the older womens'. She could feel the different texture in the others hand and was a little curious of what kind of secies this women was made with. But this wasn't the time for those kind of questions. The women said she was here to help her, she really wanted to believe the older women, she hasn't had anyonein her life act like this toward her. The scientists were always rough, not caring how she was treated, she was just another experiment to them.
Closing her eyes for a moment she tried to figure out the words that she wanted to say, her face appeared to be deep in concentration. After a few moments her eyes slowly opened "Es...esme tr..tr...trust y...yew?" she asked questionally as she pointed to herself with her free hand then pointed at the women.
Thinking about the girl and the boy she saw early, she looked in the direction she came from. The direction the institute was "m..more y..yes" she nodded her head "m..more us" she said as she gripped the womens hand a little. She was afraid of getting caught, afraid of being locked up in the cages. "T...their co..comin f..for u..us" she whimpered softly slowly moving herself closer to the women.
Pomona
The small hand slid into Pomona's and the woman's heart melted just at little at the realization that this poor little girl had been stuck in the institution all her life. The rough finger's closed around the child's just enough to provide comfort. She gave the child her full attention as she listened, taking in every word the little girl said.
"Let's go help the other's shall we?" asked Pomona once the child had finished speaking. Without the little girl's permission the woman leaned forward and scooped the child into her arms and began walking forward. The child looked tired, and Pomona didn't have time for her to wait for her.
"We're going to look after you now, little tiger," Pomona assured her, giving the child's nose a light and playful tap. With the little girl in her arms Pomona jogged back through the forest in the direction the little girl had come; her eyes were alert for any signs of other alters. Her pace slowed when she heard trees being ripped from the ground. On instinct she set the little girl down behind a bush.
"Stay here," she instructed then turned to investigate what was going on. When she stepped around the trunk of a large tree the scene before her caused her to leap into action without thinking. She recognized the faces of three terrified alters. Two of them were standing together off to the side while a tree fell on top of another who was dressed in a guard's uniform, but she knew he wasn't a guard because of his unnatural stature. She bounded forward, barreling into the alter who was about to be hit by a tree and managed to knock him to the ground just out of reach of the tree.
Together they fell to the ground where she lay with the wind knocked out of her and the forest spinning above her.
"What....wh....what were y...you...think....th...thinking?" she gasped from where she lay, directing her speech at the two alters still standing.
Emery
Emery's heart flew when a blur of white climbed from the bush in front of Rosie. A smile coaxed it's way onto the man's lips and he did his best to look friendly and non-threatening. Emery needed this alter to trust him if he was going to save him. Rosie sat nuzzling the arm of the alter, happy she had succeeded in her job.
"I was. I escaped with two other alters, and we've been watching the institute ever since in hopes more of you would escape. We want to help you and get you away from here. Do you know if any other alters managed to escape?...I'm Emery by the way, and this is Rosie." Emery patted the head of Rosie before holding out his hand to the blur of white in greeting.
"Oh, and it might be important for you to know that I'm mostly blind. I can't really see you."
Violet
Violet listened to the two men near her speaking. The one in the bush was an alter like her. She could tell by the white shift he wore which was identical to hers, but she didn't reveal herself even when Emery asked if other alters had escaped. She had no idea if she could trust this man. For all she knew he could be one of the scientists disguised to come and collect them. She didn't want to take that chance.
Her mind changed when she heard the man with the dog say he was blind. Something about that weakness made her muscles relax and gave her the urge to creep out from where she was hiding. He had told the other alter he had been one of them once and wanted to help them. He was looking for all the escaped alters which meant he was looking for her too.
As she crouched in her hiding place Violet contemplated the dangers of trusting this man she had never met. She could either trust him and potentially get taken back to the institute or rely on her instincts in a world she didn't understand. After a few moments of contemplation Violet stepped out from her hiding place. She figured she would be safer going with the blind man than relying on her very minimal amount of knowledge about the world around her. If she did get into trouble Violet felt she was capable enough to escape from a blind man.
"I'm one of the escaped alters too," she announced in a clear voice void of fear. She might be willing to trust him, but she wasn't ready to let him know how frightened she really was.
Brick placed his feet broad and made sure that he had a good grip before he prepared himself for grabbing the tree as it came down. He didn't understand that the log would smash him flat like a pancake. The tree closed in, Brick lifted his hands to grab it, and just before the log hit his hands, he was tackled by another tree... Ohh, wait, i wasn't a tree. Brick hit the ground at the same moment as the tree, creating a loud "bang" that echoed through the forest. "Is it really in your concern ?" Brick asked the tree-girl annoyed, Then he quickly got on his feet again. "Ran out of trees coward?" He asked and turned towards the boy who had tried to crush him. "Or do you still wish to give me a bat?" He asked and gave him a evil grin, showing all of his 32 predator teeth. He didn't give a living horse-crap about The girl on The ground. She could suffocate for all he cared.
Riley β€˜Scythe’ Cross
Riley silently trekked through the forest, continuously coming on broken branches and tracks of those escaped. It was apparent they were trying to get as far away as possible, not cover their tracks. Riley snickered as he walked through the woods, careful not to step onto any branches or many any loud noises. To do that would cause the escapees to flee, and that would mean more work or his head. But to Riley, this was just a game.
β€œWell, let’s hope-” Riley’s words were cut off as he heard a loud crashing ahead of him. A grin slid onto his face as he made his way towards them, scythe in his hands. As he trudged on towards the noise, he noticed a group? Yes, a group of experiments, freaks. He watched from a distance, far enough to where they could not see him instantly.
After watching their uninteresting little confrontation, he cleared his throat and tossed them a smile filled with white, sparkling teeth, β€œWell, this was a little easier than I thought,” He laughed, revealing the large weapon, the sunlight glinting off the metal blade.
β€œActually, I like challenges.” He said, walking a little closer, his eyes on the massive man standing there, β€œNot too fun when you just stand there like idiots.” He said, a cruel smile sliding on his face, his amber eyes filled with a sadistic mischief.
The Institute was in chaos. Quite a few people had escaped recently. Now it was Raizel's turn. He took advantage of the chaos to escape himself. The Institute was like a maze, but he just used the talent he had been give to get out. All those pitch black mazes were finally good for something. He closed his eyes and listened for a sound he had heard since he was seven, but had never gotten close enough to feel. The wind. He ran through the maze following the sound of the wind. Hiding whenever somebody got close. Then he was free. He opened his eyes, looking in awe at his surroundings while he ran. Then it hit him all at once, the sounds. He stopped dead in his tracks and covered his ears, trying in vain to block out even a fraction of the noise. Animals going about their daily business, the wind rustling the trees and the bushes and leaves that lay on the ground, the voices of people nearby, it all hurt. People? Raizel tried to focus on their voices, but the other noises were too much. He couldn't hear what they were saying. Some good his enhanced hearing was. Should I try and get closer? See who they are? But what if they're normal. Unlike me. Raizel's fur-like hair, slit pupils, and nails that are more like claws on his left hand are proof the horrible experiments that were done to him. Raizel decided to take the risk. With one hand still pressed against an ear he moved forward.
All the sounds meant he couldn't quite tell how far away he was to one specific sound. So before he knew it, Raizel could see people. He slipped behind a tree. He had just escaped 18 years of torture, he wasn't going to risk going back.
Virgil
"Hahaha!! Outrunning those four-eyed fools is so much easier than i thought it'd be!" Hmm.. So this is what 'Outside' is. How dull.." Virgilsaid to himself. "Barely 10 minutes away from that droll institute and i'm already bored." Virgil ran through the trees listening for anything of interest. When all the sudden, a loud THUD almost made him trip and wipe out. "What in the... I should go check that out. Beats sitting here talking to myself." And with that, he changed his course towards the noise.
Running at a full sprint, he came upon the scene very quickly. Virgil ran in, jumped atop a fallen tree, and scanned what he could see. "Uh... A monster, a tree lady, a buff dwarf, an adolescent and Mr.Scythe... So apparently this is happening. Hello people with similar clothing to my own. Fellow ex-inmates i'm assuming." He then pointed at the large hairy man. "Hmm... You, are a rather large fellow.." Then he looked over at the armed hunter and grimaced. "Greeeeaaat. Fresh out of the cage and the cat has already pounced."
Just as she finished talking the women picked her up, it was comforting to know she wouldn't have to run and try to keep up with the older women. Esme sighed, a very tiny, rare smile was on her lips as the women told her she was going to take care of her. Shes never had anyone that said that to her, she couldn't help but hold onto the women tighter. The tap to the nose made her scrunch her nose a little, leaning her head against the women's shoulder.
The windflowed against her face as the women jogged back towards where she came from, it made her shake knowing the were going towards the Institute and not away. The women slowed down and Esme could hear the sound of something cracking, her eyes looked around but she couldn't see anything. She was then set down, the women telling her to stay before going off.
Esme crouched, stepping slowly to peak around the bush just in time to see a tree falling and the women pushing someone out of the way. Her eyes went wide, terrified that something happened to the women. The big guy stood up and now she could see two other alters, the ones that she saw earlier were there too. As words were spoken she could see that there was something going on and it didn't sound good at all.
Another voice was heard, a little bit a ways was another guy but not any guy, a hunter. Esme whimpered lightly, moving herself more behind the bosh. They found them, now they would be taken back to the institute. Her body started shaking in fear, her instincts told her to run but she didn't want to leave the women.
A sound near her made her look around, not moving, just using her eyes. She could see the body of someone else hiding behind a tree, she couldn't make them out. She maneuvered herself more behind the bush, no longer able to see the group of others. Her eyes looked towards the open forest, her mind telling her to just flee but instead she just stayed crouched in a ball, waiting for the women to get her, and listening for any sounds of immediate danger.
Henry tried his best to run away after he pushed down that tree, but he had been going for too long today. It didn't help that he hadn't eaten that much today. The scientists kept his food intake down to a minimum to make sure he wouldn't do anything outrageous in the facility. But now he could already feel cripplingly weak. His stomach growled and fell to his knees. And if that wasn't bad enough, he saw someone come out of the shadows and actually saved the monster soldier. Henry gawked at her for a moment, not completely sure what exactly she was. But it was for sure that she was definitely an alter.
"Wh...what am I thinking...?!" Henry breathed out, his body felt a little weak. "You're the one...who's saving a damned hunter!"
The monster then started taunting him, asking if he wanted to throw any other trees his way. Henry spat at the ground in anger. "Cocky bastard..."
As if that wasn't enough, more and more people started gathering towards the sound of the crashed tree. First was the hunter, then two others, one of which looked like a little girl. Just like the one that the woman he met had mentioned. "Dammit all..." Henry could feel his body recuperating enough for him to stand back up. He felt so hungry, but it wasn't the time for that. Everyone here was in danger and things were spinning out of control way too quickly. Henry needed a plan, something. But in his current state, there wasn't much that he could pull off immediately.
KANIMA
Kanima looked at the trees around her. Free, she was free. For once she allowed her self a little giggle. Oh it felt good. She broke of into a sprint. She could go about half an hour like this without breaking sweat. She loved it, the wing running through her hair, the way twigs crunched beneath her feet, the way the air smelt. Fresh she thought. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath.
"Right" she muttered her eyes still closed, "now what?"
Ok I'm out, running through the forest with my eyes closed and there could be a...
She ran head first into tree. Groaning she stood. Rubbing her head.
I really had to do that...
She could a distant high pitched noise. Radio frequency. What would that mean. She was sometimes tortured by it but...
She listened closer trying to pin point where it was coming from. But instead heard voices. People? Out here?
She followed the voices but the high pitched noise grew fainter and fainter. That's when she saw them. A few people, one dressed as... Something strange. Did people dress like that now? Then she saw someone hiding also making a lot of noise. He was dressed the same as her. Maybe he didn't know he was making that much noise or maybe he was doing it deliberately. Looking about her, Kanima silently walked over to a tree near the one where the other person was standing.
"Uhh, person,"she whispered so quiet that if he was standing about another meter away he wouldn't have heard it." Could you try to be a bit quieter, I can hear you from there."
She looked back at the other people to see if they heard. They didn't seem to. Maybe she should go see. Or she could wait to see if they were going to try and get her back. She went for the safer option. And waited.
MASON
Mason checked the time. Then wished he hadn't he still had ages to work. No activity all day. He then began swinging in his chair. Bored bored bored. He ran through all the cameras in the woods. Then he saw alters. No, no, no no! He looked around. They weren't destroying, they were normal. Maybe he could... No he had to report... But then again. He quickly checked no one was watching. Made that certain security camera malfunction and disposed of the tape. No one would hopefully find them now. They weren't doing anything wrong. Ok you must act casual when anyone comes in. He took a deep breath. And sipped his coffee. Relaxing in his chair.
Jade
Jade panicked at the brute's threat and froze in the tree. She had barely snapped out of it and jumped out of the tree before the boy ran into the tree. She must have hit a branch when she fell out of the tree because she blacked out for a few moments.
When she came to there were so many people in the clearing that a wave of panic came over her. One was a hunter! They needed out of there now. By chance, she happened to see the little girl from earlier. No. Why is she here? Of all the places she could have run why here?
She touched the boy's arm to get his attention as well as to smooth the panic that looked as bad as she felt from his face. "We need to get out of here. Now."
Raizel jumped when he heard a voice talking to him. He franticly looked around for the owner of the voice. He spotted a girl wearing the same clothes that he was. It seems that she isn't working for the Institute, she's a victim of it. He kept his voice quiet, calm, and friendly as he spoke. "I was unaware that I was making noise, thank you stranger." Keeping half an eye on the girl, Raizel turned his attention back to the group of people. That's when he noticed that one of the people wasn't wearing the same white gown as the rest. It was a hunter. Raizel's desire to help people started getting the better of him. He looked back at the girl. "We must help them. I'll tackle the hunter, you get his scythe away from him." Without waiting for an answer Raizel ran at the hunter and tackled him into the ground. He really hoped the girl was willing to help, or he was as good as dead.
"Who the hell is farmerboy here?" Brick asked annoyed and nodded towards the hunter. This was pissing him of, really really pissing him of, first he was almost struck by a tree, then he was tackled by a tree.... Girl..... Whatever.. And Then a hunter showed up to foolishly try to drag Brick back to the hell-hole he had just escaped. "I feel nice today" Brick said with a voice and expression that made it clear that he wasn't feeling very nice. "I'll give you exactly three seconds to Get The fuck out of here before I come over there and remove your guts with my th---" Brick was cut of by some dude coming up from The hunters side and tackled him. That made Brick laugh, a loud, harsh, and dark laughter. "Good... Strike" he said to the guy between his laughs
Henry nodded to the girl. "I get that...but how do we..." Suddenly his thought process was cut off when a random person appeared out of nowhere and tackled the hunter to the ground. Apparently the monster found this to be amusing and started laughing hysterically. That actually was perfect for Henry. Now there was a distraction to keep the others busy while he and the girl escaped with the little one. He ran up to the little girl and, as non-threateningly as he could, gently grabbed her hand. "Listen, I'm not a bad guy. I swear. But right now, we need to get out of here, like now." He turned back to the yellow eyed girl and waved at her to start running as he attempted to also start running with the little girl.
Pomona
Pomona did not stay on the ground for long. Their location was to compromising. This proved to be true when a hunter burst through the trees. Panic caused her heart the slam against her chest as if it wanted to escape as badly as she did. Her eyes flicked to where Esme stood hidden behind a bush and silently willed the child not to make a sound. She was safe as long as she was quiet.
"It looks like you're a bit out numbered. Are you sue you want to..." Pomona planted her feet in the ground and put her hands on her hips as she addressed the hunter, but before she could finish her sentence an alter came out of nowhere and tackled the hunter. At the same moment she saw two of the alters move toward the child whom she was trying to keep safe. Her body moved from motionless to a blur of motion.
Once the hunter was on the ground Pomona bounded forward and tugged the scythe from the hunter's hand. The adrenaline in her system caused Pomona to bring the handle of the scythe down on the head of the hunter with more force than she intended, hoping to knock him out long enough for them to get away. With all her strength she chucked the scythe far into the forest where the hunter wouldn't see it when he got up. As soon as the scythe was out of her hand her attention was back on the little girl. She ran over to where the male alter was trying to coax the little girl to go with him.
"All of you need to come with me," she told him as she stepped between him and the little girl. She scooped the child up off the floor and held her close to her body with a firm grip. "If you stay here you'll get caught. I can take you somewhere safe, but you have to come with me. All of you." She made eye contact with every alter in the area then turned and began picking her way through the trees toward a stream they could not yet hear or see from where they are.
Kanima
She rolled her eyes as the boy tackled the hunter. If he was watching he would know that the hunter wouldnt be a threat. She waited for a while until there was silence and walked out. She looked at all of them then smiled at the boy who had tackled the hunter.
"Umm, I doubt that tackling the hunter was needed" she whispered to him then smiled at the others "Now most of you look strange so I'm guessing that your all from The Institute"
She smelt the scents of humans mixed with animals, a bear of some sort, two cats of some sort one confused her it smelt like a lion but a horse at the same time. There was also a wolf like her. Then there were another two a hunter and something else. She kept smiling at them.
As Esme kept crouched low she tried to stay hidden but it really did her no good, two alters, the boy and girl from before, came over to her. Even though they were other alters she still wasn't sure about them, she backed into the bush as much as she could but the boy kept coming closer towards her until he actually grabbed her hand. He tried to get her to move, she didn't want to go with him, she tried to pull away but it was no use, the guy was much stronger then her. A small screech escaped her lips then she lurched forward and bit down on the boys hand until he let go. A small snarl escaped her lips as she took a few steps back.
Just then the women that she trusted stepped between her and the boy, she was thankful when she was picked up and held tight. Her tiny arms wrapped around the women's neck, her head leaning against the women's shoulder. There was a lot of other people here, she was shaking and just wanted to be out of the forest. She was scared, already one hunter found them, who knows how many more will sneak up on them.
After the women addressed the group she started walking away with Esme holding onto her. Esme looked at the other alters, suprised some of them were just standing there. They should be running away, don't they know that they are being hunted. Shaking her head slightly Esme just closed her eyes and hoped wherever they were going that they would get there soon.
Riley β€˜Scythe’ Cross
Riley growled in annoyance a boy tackled him to the ground. Facing the boy, his teeth bared in an angry snarl, he grabbed at him. Riley felt someone yank his Scythe away, and he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head, white dots blurring his vision. Riley looked to see a girl escapee chuck his scythe into the brush before he blacked in and out of consciousness. For all he could hear was muffled voices, although most seemed rather happy that they had KOed the hunter. The last thing Riley remembered was the disappointed feeling he had been outsmarted before blacking out completely.
