-On any given night, the sound of artilllery fire whirred with clockwork consistency, it became such a common mainstay that it no longer bothered him or any other fighter in the anti-hero resistance, there was also a distinct odor which permeated the city , but that too he became accustomed to
Jump City formerly the home to the young titans would become the site of the biggest battleground to decide the fate of the worlds heroes, in no less than a year did this flourishing sunny city become the type of urban wasteland one might imagine seeing in dissotopian "last man alive" type fiction, but this was not a movie and Roy was definitely not Will Smith, the thought was almost surreal to him.... although Roy was very much aware of the stakes and the outlook of the war, the anti-hero Resistance was on its last legs, at this point Roy was fighting just so that he could take as many with. Only his seething hatred for the enemy kept him from wanting to turn the gun onto himself. -
-In his pondering, Roy was alerted by one of the adjutant soldiers under his command , he recognized the voice belonging to Marco, he couldn't have been any older than 16 and he wasn't really cut out for the war -
Marco: Red Arrow Sir! Um...it appears that enemy is advancing without slowing down. Some of our men need medical attention and we're low on rations...
"We have to hold the line, if they make it past us then the base will be compromised, we lose the war" -Roy glancing back briefly to his injured men, then down upon his cybernetic prosthetic left forearm-
"I want you to take the soldiers who are worth saving and go back to the base, I want you to tell the remaining forces to evacuate ... tell them to seek refuge with Robin's forces in happy harbor. I'll hold the line here"
Marco: but sir, what about you? There's no way you can hold off all of these droids...
"This wouldn't be the first time I've I've managed to work a miracle and it definitely won't be the last. I'm fucking Red Arrow. Now go" -Red Arrow slowly behind the anti-fire barricade-
