Abigail

"Please keep your distance. My bite is indeed much worse then my bark."

0 · 238 views · located in Gar

a character in “The Branded”, as played by Cookies Need Love

History

Name: Abigail

Age: Twenty-Six

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Personality: Abby, as she prefers to be called, is a cold and distant person. She doesn't like delving into a conversation that is more then just some polite chatter. Even the polite chatter bit is difficult for her. Abby is a very emotionless person and rarely does she show any sign of anger, sadness, or even happiness. When she does talk it's usually wither a sarcastic comment or a suggestion on what to do next.
Despite her cold personality, Abby is very protective of those around her. Even if they are not friends or she barely knows them, Abby will lay down her life to protect them. Abby has no concern for her own life and will often head into dangerous situations alone without a second thought. She's very distrusting, however, and prefers to watch her own back rather then leave that up to someone else. She is, however, a representative from her Coven and so will attempt to be as polite as possible.

Appearance: Abby. She can, however, mutate her appearance at times. This is simply what she looks like nor ally.

Brand's Appearance: The brand appears as a curled up snake on the back of her neck.

Brand's Effects: The brand enhances Abby's speed, agility, and ability to move unseen and unheard. Basically she becomes faster and sneakier then before.

Alternate Form: The Snake- it reflects her coldness, and her Brand's ability to make her sneakier.

Weapon(s): Abby will usually just add some claws and teeth to her body.

Magic: Abby has the power of mutation. She can add or change things about her appearance; however she cannot completely change what she looks like or is. Abby also knows several spells for various things.

History: Abby was born in a Witch coven called the Strages. The Strages were an odd coven if Witches for many reasons. They don't stay with their parents after they're born. They simply take the child and raise it in their coven with every member being the mother. The father is usually abandoned by the mother, since Strages' members are all female. From their very first days the child will be taught spells and charms, and tested for their own natural talent. Each Strages has a natural talent that they don't need spells for. Witches have longer lives then most other creatures and will live for thousands of years. As such, a child is usually about one hundred when they are considered full grown.
The Strages coven is a group of closely tied Witches. The population of the coven fluctuates at times, and but there is usually a core group that will stay permanently. Abby grew up among these conditions and, like most members, she became very independent. As a member of the Strages coven Abby was never tied down or made to stay in one place, and so she dislikes when she is. However there are rulers who keep the peace among Strages, and they realized the importance of good relations with either side when such troubled times were brewing. So, a while ago, Abby was sent to Gar in order to cultivate good reception for the Strages coven there. Other representatives were sent to other places.
Abby joined the military and went up in ranks. Due to this training she is comfortable with a sword, but does not own one, and she can use a bow and arrow but, once more, does not own one. As a Private she was sent to find out what the strange disturbances were on the moor.

So begins...

Lucius watched the cart hurtle away down the dirt and gravel path, leaving the soldiers alone on the moors. Lucius had been given the map of the moors by Colonel Sanderson, which was now in his pocket. Lucius removed the map from his pocket and unfolded it. It was a crumpled, A3 piece of papyrus with the layout of the moor drawn on it. There were 4 points marked onto the map, a now deserted hamlet that was slightly to the north, a tarn to the northwest, a valley to the east and a cave to the northeast. Lucius wondered how long it would take to go round them all. It was obvious that their first destination should be the hamlet that had supposedly been destroyed by monsters. But before anything else, he should introduce himself to the group, they would need to work as a team, and wouldn't be able to if they didn't know each other.
"I don't believe that I have introduced myself yet." Lucius announced to the group, "My name is Lucius Silver, son of the late Sebastian Silver. And what about the rest of you? If we're going to be working together, we should know who we're working with."

"Oh for Luna's sake..." the Serpent scowled as he attempted to get the door to budge, but to no avail.
However, after another few seconds he managed to ram the door down with his shoulder. He stepped into the ransacked cottage, surveying the scene that the monsters had left. Blood was spattered everywhere, the furniture was smashed to smithereens and the walls had multiple holes in them. The Serpent inspected the blood, it had separated some time ago. The house had an attic, so it shouldn't be to hard to hide and wait for the soldiers.
"Right you lot, get in the attic and seal the door shut. I'll make sure the soldiers go where they're supposed to go. You four watch out of the window and make sure you're not seen. If they realise it's a trap or see you, knock them out, kidnap one of them and take him or her to the cave. I'll leave them a message so they know what to do. However, I don't want that happening so make sure to monitor their behaviour at all times. And remember, DON'T kill them!"
With that, the Serpent opened the hatch leading to the attic and pulled down the ladder, gesturing for them to climb up.

Having spent the greater portion of his journey to the moor via a cart, Leyawin was more than happy enough to finally arrive at their destination. Stepping off the cart with the unmistakable ache of having sat in one spot for too long, he immediately threw out his arms in a stretch. Following this he began to survey the area. It was quiet, at least… Whether that was a good thing or not had yet to be determined. Monster sightings… the first real mission he was assigned as a soldier for Gar. A short pause followed before one of his comrades spoke. He introduced himself as Lucius, providing a small amount of detail about himself in the process. It was what he said after his introduction that interested Leyawin, however. I suppose he’s right… Leyawin thought. In order to properly function as a group it’d be better to know a bit more about eachother…

“… Leyawin de Geldor of the Geldor Family of Elevar.” He spoke elegantly but without arrogance. After all, he may have pride in his lineage but he was raised to hold equal respect for all creatures.

Annie had jumped off of the cart even before it had come to a full stop, though she landed gracefully and silently on the dirt. She stood cautiously for only a moment before straightening herself. The girl was young, and looked even younger, and this only added to how eager she seemed. Finally, a chance to prove herself, a chance for real adventure! No more dealing with these common street criminals; real monsters.

"A Geldor?" she said, though not harshly. She took a moment to observe the Leyawin and then continued on, "My name's Annie. Nice to meet the team!" she chimed in her high, honey-like voice, seeming untouched by the sheer seriousness and formality of the situation. Not always, but on occasion, there were whispers and unfounded gossip that sometimes accompanied her family name. She did not intend to take that chance and set that off.

She observed the other soldiers with her, her eyes flickering from detail to detail, person to person, taking in their faces. Some of their faces seemed vaguely familiar, as if she had known them long ago, but she knew this couldn't be right. She pulled her bow from her back and held it in her left hand, letting her hand find the position it had been in, so many times before.

Calmly pushing himself off of the cart as it came to a complete stop, taking in the atmosphere gazing at the many people passing distracted by the look of the town he had just arrived in. Reflecting back to when he was assigned to the mission, "killing monsters... just like killing stronger bandits" were the words he spoke to his comanding officer with a grin clasping his hand on the mans shoulder laughing as he departed. But it was for real Leon would be sent with new comrades to finish off a group of monsters sighted, shaking off the feeling as the blond haired man spoke. "My name is Lucius Silver, son of the late Sebastian Silver. And what about the rest of you? If we're going to be working together, we should know who we're working with." I suppose I should introduce myself Leon said to himself but was quickly cut off by Elf when he spoke. "This must be serious" again Leons thoughts flashed, and with the apparince of a Geldor he was alarmed with the severity of the task at hand. Composing his mind while another introduced herself as Annie, dropping all formalities with her tone and speech.

"Well then it is ample time to introduce myself, I am Leon Kenro Parthos. Son of the departed Dracus Parthos." Leon spoke clenching his teeth a bit as he spoke of his fathers name and with a shake of the head he continued "It is nice to meet all of you and may our mission go well." and with a smile he reached his hand out to Leyawin greeting the elf with respect.

Annie's energy seemed to seep into the air; contagious. She fidgeted, shifting her weight from left to right, and then back to left soon after. It was this warmth; she loved the sun. It was probably what made her like this, like her emotions came and went with the wind and the rain and the dirt and the moon. Now and then, it seemed somewhat ill-fitting in this environment.

"Well then... Shall we maybe look around?" she asked her comrades.

They didn't seem to fit each other either. Their hair; tangles and curls of blonde, black, or silver, long or short, slid through the cooling breeze. Their faces, heights, backgrounds, even the way they wore their uniforms, all denoted a ragged band of strangers more than a tight knit group of soldiers. No, communication wasn't there strong suit, it seemed, and as far as being on the same level as each other, they had a long way to go.

She slid her right shoulder out of her uniform overalls, switched her bow hand temporarily, and then slid her left shoulder out as well. The two straps fell to her hips; apparently, as over-sized as the overalls seemed, the slack picked up at the waist, tight enough to keep it there.

It was the hamlet that interested Annie the most.
