I entered the bar rain soaked with my head lowered, badly beaten and bruised because my so called “lover” had decided to take out his aggressions. Sitting a few seats away from the two I tried to keep my distance. Boys, don't need em' was the immediate thought that crossed my mind as I sighed dejectedly.
I shake my head and notice the girl nearby who is badly beaten. I stand up and walk over to her and suddenly sit next to her with a concerned look on my face. "Your boyfriend did this huh? Let me guess... You think you don't need boys and that all they do is cause pain and hurt you huh?"
I growled slightly nearly revealing fangs but I kept them hidden while answering. “Males are useless,” I stated struggling not to cry. “They'll only ever use me...” I sighed again, with no trace of emotion.

"Because a man who treats his woman like that is no man at all... Those men deserve no right to live and are a disgrace. I know for a fact I would never treat the ones I love like that. He has no reason to treat such a beautiful woman like you in such a manner..."
Lathera blushed slightly at what he had said. “Beautiful? No. If one were to see my body as it is now....they would take off running.” She chuckled lightly before adding in a much more joking sort of tone : ”You're not so bad yourself.”
He chuckles. "Yes you are so don't talk so down of yourself. If your boyfriend treats you in such a way, then he doesn't deserve someone as great as you. If he continues, he will have to take it up with me...... Oh, I'm sorry but I haven't introduced myself have I?"
He holds his hand out politely "My name is Jonathan Sprinkle. Are you a student nearby?"

I took his hand, shaking it shyly. “Lathera, and...I haven't found the time to register seeing as how I just arrived here last night. That's when...” She paused, trembling slightly. “That's when Ash started hitting me....”
Jonathan nods sadly. "If you ever have any problems please do come and talk to me... And when you do register, I hope to see you there. I plan on going tomorrow so I hope we can get along!"
The next day, Jonathan is walking to school with his hood over his head when he spots Lathera. "Yo whats up?"

She is wearing a grey t-shirt with a black eagle printed on the front, violet leggings, knee-high black combat boots and black fingerless gloves, her hair dyed an odd silver color and tied up with a black ribbon. Her lips are violet, from lipstick, and black eyeshadow highlights her amber eyes, bangs falling over her right eye.
"'Ello, Jonathan..." Lathera smiled shyly, almost revealing fangs. "I registered this morning."

Jonathan nods and looks at her. He is wearing a black hoodie with a red blood drop sown on the back, Black Jeans, a bullet belt, Combat boots, and hidden in the bottom of his right boot is a combat knife. His hair is black and dark purple as it hides his right eye as well. On his hands he wears black gloves made of what looks like wolf fur. There is a necklace around him with a little vial containing a red liquid inside it. When he looks up, his hair moves to reveal for the first time that unlike his left eye, the right is purple and has a large scar across it. "So did you find out what class you are in?"
"1-A," Lathera replied quietly, staring down at the soles of her scuffed black boots. "And just call me Lat, k'?" She toyed with a small vial full of midnight blue liquid, sighing. "Lat is what the boys call me now, anyways."
"Is that what YOU want me to call you? Because if there is something else you would rather me call you, I will happily do so... And I'm also in the same class."
"Y-yea..." Without thinking Lathera unscrewed the top of the small piece of glass and downed its contents.
Jonathan watches her and nods. "I thought you were a vampire from the start....... My instincts are never wrong on that..."
He smiles and reveals his fangs.

Jonathan smiles. "There is a first for everything... Besides, nowadays half vampires are really rare."
Lathera blushed slightly, not looking up. "I know..I almost wish he hadn't left me at half even though I hate him..."
