Nickname: Alex
Age: 9
Birthdate: September 29th
Role: Subject 005/ Young Jaden Smith
Ability: Speed: From the time Alex could walk, everyone knew there was something special in the way he moved, almost like is was fully in tune with the flow of the air around him. By the time he was five, he could already run faster than any adult in the facility. Then when he was six, he continued to astonish as he broke the land speed world record of 10.35 meters per second, although his accomplishment went unknown to the general public. Now at age nine, can successful sustain a run of 22.32 m/s (50 Mph), and if pushed, can reach a speed that you can barely see him. This run cannot be sustained however, and can only be done in short sprints, and leaves Alex feeling fatigued and queasy after.

Fears:

+Achluophobia - Fear of the dark. (Though he hates to admit it because he finds it babyish, he's had a fear of the dark for as long as he can remember)
+Amaxophobia - Fear of riding in a car. (Living his life at such high speeds is a constant for Alex, though it's always something he's able to control. Riding in anything that can go as fast as him makes him uneasy and often frightened due to his lack of control)
+Kakorrhaphiophobia - Fear of failure. (Being so fit for a 9 year old, he holds himself at adult levels of aptitude and fitness. His fear of failures pushes him on)

Description: At first glance, Alex looks like any regular nine year old that you might find in a regular suburban family. Although he doesn't smile very often, the few times he does brings out the childish, good-natured, even innocence that dwells within him. Regrettably due to the circumstances, Alex lost that innocence long ago as he had to grow up quickly if he wished to survive. At 4 feet and two inches tall and 60 pounds, he is far from an imposing figure. His black, curly hair runs wild in a small afro, though he makes sure to cut it before it gets out of control. Although merely a child, he often adopts a stern deposition, and his body reflects that. He is often tense when with other people--never letting his guard down--and allows himself to relax only within the comfort of solitude. Under his simple cloths lies of a body lean with muscle and low body fat; every inch of his body tone and ready to support his quick, and often sudden, movements. His wings--to accommodate his light frame--are smaller, but not unnaturally so (which is comparative. Of course wings are unnatural, but for these children, it's not). Much like his skin, his wings take on darker undertones of black and brown feather meshed together in no seeming order.

Personality: Alex has always enjoyed a quiet environment because he feels its what defines him. In the quiet, you can think rationally, react quicker, and the danger level is virtually zero. Because of this, Alex keeps a stern, solemn visage nearly all the time; talking is not something that comes easy for him. This would make him seem like a loner, but in actuality he is far from that. Alex relishes the company of his peers, and finds a conversation every now and again very refreshing. However, he is multitudes more hesitant when it comes to adults, and in some cases older teenagers. He is slow to trust anyone; it's what his environment has demanded his whole life. Once someone does gain his trust though, they just might see the good-natured heart that lies under the layers of wariness.

By himself, he is a completely different person. His driven personality leads him to excel in all things physical. Not only is he physically fast, but his circadian rhythm (his biological clock) is quite rapid as well. This means that he requires less sleep than a normal person (about 4 hours to be fully rested). He spends most nights exercising in his room, imagining up new ways that he can test and control himself in the limited area of his containment. New workouts are constantly invented in an effort to keep his body unable to adapt, thus continuously improving. He believes one day that the scientists will put him in fights to test his steel and resolve, and he wants to be ready.

History: Born in the lab, and kept in the immediate vicinity, Alex often daydreamed about what might lay outside his known area, and how big the world might be. He learned very early on that going against the grain, and maintaining the path of greater resistance, made his life harder and frequently--progressively--more painful. So, he tended to be cooperative with those who tested him. As he life went on, he relished the opportunity to push himself, even if it was against other kids. His choice to "stay in line like a good little soldier" meant he had relative peace and solitude. It wasn't until Alex was a bit older, around the age of 8 when the tests became increasing harder often to the point of pain and punishment, that he fantasized about escaping. For the time being, he'll be the good little soldier the staff want him to be; it'll make his sudden escape all the more unpredictable (so he romanticizes).

Theme Song: A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars

Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different?
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
'Cause this is just a game

[Chorus:]
It's a beautiful lie
It's the perfect denial
Such a beautiful lie to believe in
So beautiful, beautiful it makes me

It's time to forget about the past
To wash away what happened last
Hide behind an empty face
Don't ask too much, just say
'Cause this is just a game

[Chorus]

(Oh Oh
The end of the world)

Everyone's looking at me
I'm running around in circles, baby
A quiet desperation's building higher
I've got to remember this is just a game

(So beautiful, beautiful
It's a beautiful lie
So beautiful, beautiful
It's a beautiful lie
So beautiful, beautiful...)
