Species: Originally a humanoid-like race.

Knostiis is a member of an as of yet undetermined species. He and his kind originate from a region which lies beyond the Crossroads of Infinity, on the other side of the Negative Zone. Called 'The Inverse,' this realm is a very unique plane which is governed by the False Positive Paradox.

Weaknesses:
Most weaknesses are contained under powers and abilities. Outside of the influence of his home universe Knostiis is no longer on the scale of a cosmic being. Conceivably, if Knostiis was enclosed within a power field consisting of sufficient force could block off the influence of his home universe, thereby making Knostiis susceptible.

Personality:
Regal, honorable, stubborn, serious

History:
Knostiis comes from dimension which could be viewed as an opposite to that of the negative zone, the word "opposite" here does not necessarily denote a material relation or connection, as say, between the negative zone and the dimension of Earth 616 and others. Knostiis is the most recent of the untold scores of other arbitrators who have existed throughout time, perhaps even before time, as some have hypothesized. Within their own universe Knostiis and others like him are Cosmic beings of immense influence and power, their decision in all matters and judgments, are final and absolute. To the lesser beings of this dimension Knostiis would seem god-like, but here in the furthest reaches beyond the Crossroads of Infinity and of the negative zone, Knostiis' power is considerably far less (though not wholly unimpressive). The Inverse has experienced a period of great tranquility and ease, but there are still incalculable universes and dimensions in need of guidance and judgment. To this end Knostiis has come to join the Guardians of the Galaxy, having witnessed much hardships in this new universe. This was achieved by what Knostiis and his kind, affectionately refer to as "Portal Plugs" relatively small objects which resemble immense 'thumb tacks' which can literally be plugged into any dimensional barrier, allowing one to see through into the next universe or dimension, simply by gazing at the circular surface of the device. However, Beings with sensitive enough insights can detect their operation, which makes them particularly ill-suited for use when enemies are vigilant. Knostiis superpowers are drawn from the celestial stars of his own universe, as with all of his kind, but due to the great separation of distance his powers are weaker when in the present dimension (Earth 616).

Powers & Abilities:

Through the ability of 'Superpower Shifting' Knostiis can change the location of a superpower in his body. This allows him to manipulate and transfer, for instance "Heat Vision" from the eyes to the index fingers to shoot heat beams out of them. Or compress Invulnerability to, let's say, a foot, so only the foot is invincible. In short, Knostiis is able to shoot his energy weapons from several parts of his body, including his 'Star Belt', chest, fingers or palms, and his feet for propulsion.

Superpower: Blast Vision

The ability to fire massive red-violet energy beams, a kind of 'Electrified Fire'.

Description

The ability to fire strong, red-violet, energy beams which simultaneously electrifies and burns objects, or beings. Most effective when the object in question in closest, for it is at this point that the beam is the most concentrated. The further the beam travels its size and strength decrease.

The Good:

Very powerful

The Bad:

It is impossible to separate the lightning from the fire.

Superpower: Ultraviolet Light Absorption/Radiation Blast

The ability to absorb ultraviolet light and fire bolts or beams of ultraviolet energy

The user is able to absorb ultraviolet energy given off by the sun. The user is then able to fire bolts or beams of ultraviolet energy from the ultraviolet light that has been absorbed. The ultraviolet light that has been absorbed must be released within 5 minutes or the ultraviolet energy that is stored in his body will start to break down and eventually destroy their body.

The good:

Ultraviolet light is ever present due to the sun.

The bad:

Once again, as a result of being far from his own dimension (who's sun is immensely more intense then in most other universes) this power (like all his powers and abilities) is diminished. Also, if there is no sun present (eg, within the negative zone, or similar dimension) these powers are nullified.

Will destroy the user's body if the energy is not released.

Note: The radiation will only effect the person it hits. The radiation will not affect, the user's allies as the user does not emanate radiation from his body unless he uses the power. However those who Knostiis wishes to be immune to the effects must be prepared by Knostiis beforehand.

(defensive only)

Ability: Safety Net

The ability to teleport to a random, safe location right before being killed

This power acts as an automatic safety net for when Knostiis is about to die or be killed. Right before the moment of death, it will transport him to a random, immediately safe location. Though it could be as far as the other side of the galaxy. Knostiis cannot activate this power and he is unable to choose where to be transported to.

The good:

Chances of being accidentally killed are greatly reduced

It happens automatically.

The bad:

Can be transported to ANYWHERE, like Africa or even to a ship at sea

Might only transport to a few feet away, useless if the enemy happens to still be in close vicinity

So begins...

The illustrious band of hazy green stars flicker against the sleek armor of an approaching commercial vessel. The most consistent name given to this galaxy is, The Dragon Spire, for its coiled reptilian-like formation and color. Looking outside from the ship's viewports, remnants of an old galactic war can be seen as the space craft passes through cluttered fields of junked warships. The passengers on board this vessel contain the remaining candidates left from the Guardian trials. They were separated from previous evaluations: Each person was assigned into a group out of five with one of the Guardians of the Galaxy as their representatives.

Code: Select all
Star-Lord - Magnus

Rocket Raccoon - Sheriff Ultra

Drax - Knostiis

Gamora - Mis.Shift

Groot - King Moth

Out of the thousands that participated in the try outs, it has come down to these final five. Some may upkeep their resiliency and await what the Guardians of the Galaxy have yet to throw at them. Others may be doubtful of their own abilities, or perhaps curious of the others - where they're from and what their capabilities are. Nothing was said to the candidates about what the final exam would entail. The only hint given is the ominous display of wrecked ships floating around them. The transport vessel is called the 578-R Transporter, but the Guardians have retrofitted it with advanced defense and weapons systems to be able to handle its own in a tight pinch. Rocket Raccoon has dubbed it the Rocket, much to the Guardian's disapproval. The entire crew maintaining the vessel consists of robotic units, designed to function according to their given tasks, but all would be able to assist their passengers to the best of their abilities. Displayed in holo form in almost every corner of the "Rocket" is a layout of the entire ship. Just then an announcement is heard over the comm by one of the piloting robot units:

Attention all candidates. ETA in 02 hours and 15 minutes. Please enjoy our accommodations. Please note that the Bridge and Engine Room are off-limits. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask any of the attending units and they'll be happy to assist you.

The transport was far too confining for Knostiis, seeing as he was use to flying threw vast voids of space with millions of light years between the tip of his wings and the nearest physical object. This vessel's configuration did little to alleviate the feeling of crampedness and confinement which the interior of the yellow ship evoked. The only vantage point which would allow one to gaze outside the vessel was an extremely small porthole at the height of the stairway, on the way to the bridge.

It was here where the width of the ship was the lest bulky, a fact which didn't sit well with Knostiis, it was a sure point of weakness in an otherwise sturdy vessel. There was a second port on the opposite side of the ship beneath front light fixture, but that was blocked off by the bulked which consisted of several feet of steel.

Everyone had been forbidden to enter the bridge and even though the stairwell leading to it was far more confining then any other part of the vessel it was there that Knostiis felt the best standing-The porthole giving Knostiis access to veiw the stars.

In stark contrast to Knostiis and his ill-feelings toward being packed into a small transport ship like so many sardines in a tin can, was Mis.Shift and her well adjusted acquiescence to the whole ordeal. She remained in her seat during the entire journey, on the inside Shift was just as frazzled as she assumed the others were at this point.

She had gotten out of her assigned seat just a single time when she attempted to open the door to the Airlock, not knowing that while in flight mode and under monitored conditions the airlock was closed up tight.

Shift had seen many strange visitors to the Negative Zone, both friendly and enemy alike, but the beings presented here were far more interesting to her, and Mis.Shift did indeed wonder about them. They in no doubt were wondereing about her and Knostiis as well.
