[History]
Delphi grew up in a small town in the outskirts of Varmet, constantly plagued by beasts and with only primitive technology. She fought fire with fire and learned to slay these beasts as a very small child. When she was six, she allegedly attacked a wild wyrm that was raiding the village and straddled it, beating at it with a sharp stone until the few warriors they had [that weren't burnt. maimed, or dead] gathered their wits and their weapons and slew the beast. Word of this spread, to the nearest cities they traded with at least. Few believed these rumors, but on her eighth birthday she again performed a fearless act. A respected trading caravan was making its rounds, and as it neared the town at dusk, it was set up on by a large manticore. The soldiers accompanying the caravan shot at the beast, but to no avail. They were all quickly impaled by the spines on its tail and the only soldier left ran to the town for help.
The traders escaped to the town with only their wares, leaving the corpses behind to stall the manticore for a little while. The leader of the caravan begged the townspeople to help them, and they sent out warriors to help. They quickly returned in horror, and the council gathered and discussed how to defeat the beast. Delphi worked in the village inn, and listened to the rumors of the caravan men as she made their beds and cleaned their clothes. As soon as she finished, she stole one of the town's swords and set off to find the monster. She quickly came upon a clearing where the beast was asleep, and she snuck up and chopped off its tail, and as it awoke, she smiled grimly. Her real talent would be now tested. She battled for hours until both were experiencing exhaustion like they never had before, and neither would yield. She was about to make a foolish move from sheer tiredness when a crossbow both shot from the trees and sprouted from the beast's heart. Delphi stood on guard against the new warrior, and when the knight emerged, she stared in awe. Everything she strove to be, in front of her in the form of a huge man.
Taking her back to the palace, for she had no desire to return to town, he presented her to the Emperor and introduced himself as the leader of the Draxian Army. She was taken in, augmented by a team of few mages left and the best scientists, and put into intense training for six years. With her advanced skill, quick learning, and enchanted equipment, Delphi quickly became a revered name and Emperor Aventine's right hand assassin. She purged many of the hidden Dracari remaining, as well as many human rebellions and monster attacks. Now she seeks out rumors of the last Dracari.
