Name: Marcus Augustine "Mark" Bennett
Role: The High King
Age: Thirty
Occupation: King
Class: Aristocrat
Personality: By most, Marcus is called sadistic and manipulative. He hardly cares about others and does not worry about hurting them. His ability to see "blurred images of people's thoughts" has given him a God complex, believing he is all-mighty. For any who have seen Death Note, he nearly perfectly embodies Light Yagami, having a great image of "I am Justice" although he is hardly justice to the commoners. Mark is a skilled businessman, just as his father and grandfather were before him. He is, in general, well-rounded and intelligent with the ability to think things through thoroughly. However, when making deals, he only looks for whether he and his fellow aristocrats will benefit. He does not bother to associate with the common folk, besides his servants, and does not really care much about them. He hardly loses his cool in public but, when he is alone, becomes quite anti-social and a bit harsh. Marcus is quite a social butterfly, on good days, and throws extravagant parties with gorgeous women and a lot of alcohol. He is licentious and does not see any problem with having a wife and a mistress. Finally, Marcus is usually very restless and likes to stay active or have something to ponder or think about. He smokes cigarettes, occasionally, but only when in deep thought or having a casual conversation.
Likes:
+ Power; Mark's lust for control and power is overwhelming. He would give nearly anything to stay king.
+ Women; he is quite the "womanizer" but thinks, if anything, any woman who is with him should feel lucky that he has graced their presence.
+ Alcohol/Cigarettes; Mark has been known to get drunk on only a small handful of occasions and is usually foudn with a pack of cigarettes or a cigar on him.
Dislikes:
- Being wrong; Mark absolutely hates having a wrong answer or being shown up. However, he can usually smooth talk his way out of sticky situations.
- Rejection; to be rejected by someone is one of the worst feelings anyone has received. Mark, however, is very annoyed by rejection and is also sort of a sore-loser.
- Commoners; he finds most commoners to be foul and digusting. In other words, unworthy of his presence.
Fears:
* Death; Like most humans, Mark fears the day when his time is over. This is mostly, though, because he fears that death will bring him to Hell for the wrongs he has done.
* Making a bad choice; In any situation or whenever he is making a deal, Marcus thinks through everything to make sure he isn't going to regret the outcome or regret his choice.
* Losing his title; With power comes the fear of being dethroned. Of course, Marcus fears rebellions but his cold-hearted, swift responses have usually quelled any uprisings.
Background: Marcus Augustine was born back in a time when the world was quite normal to most. His father (and his father before him) was the CEO of Bennett Inc., a well-known maker of robotics. They lived at the upper-crust of society in the "one percent" and Mark hardly had to lift a finger. From his early childhood, he was forced into the spotlight, becoming one of America's most beloved celebrity children. With a natural charisma and confident air, he quickly attracted the attention of many. In some of Bennett Inc.'s old commercials, he even starred as a child. As a child and teenager, he attended private school and he graduated from Harvard with a business degree at about tenth in his class.
When he was an adult, a nuclear war began. In the aftermath, his father had died and so had most of the population. Marcus found himself suddenly with the ability to see into people's thoughts which greatly shocked him for a bit before he got used to it. Using this, his natural charisma, and his already-gained respect, he quickly assumed the "throne" and became known as The High King. At one of his parties, he was introduced to Vi and was instantly attracted to her charm and mysteriousness. They married quickly in an extravagant affair (mainly for publicity) and she's been seen at his side almost everywhere. Just a year or so after their wedding, reports of him taking on a mistress arose, only for him to quickly deny them. Just recently, he took a new mistress. Since gaining the throne, there have been a few minor uprisings though they have all been quelled deftly. He has brought up the idea of having a child (or "successor" as he likes to call it) but doesn't like to say anything about this idea in public.
