"My lady your father wishes to see you. He says there is important news that he has to share with you and your sister." The maid said then left.
"Thank you. I will be there shortly." As she brushed her hair she opened the door to leave. Going down stairs she saw her father and sister. "Father. Scarlett. I have been told you have news for me. Is it another assignment?"

"Ahh... Another assignment... I suppose you could say that..." he began, allowing his sentence to trail off. Shifting his gaze to his other and eldest daughter, Meimu would smile a smile that clearly said it was her turn to speak. He had already spoken with her earlier and dealt with whatever emotions she felt then. Though he normally gave assignments out himself, he felt that it would be amusing to have one sister inform the other, so he would be able to enjoy the reaction even more then. The mission this time was far from the norm and despite that Meimu was typically easy-going, he felt slightly unsettled for once. Something about this assignment bothered him, but he had no choice. It was too valuable to pass up and knowing him, he would more or less destroy the target on "accident" should he be the one escorting him.

She looked at her father as he stopped speaking, her eyes narrowing into an intense glare. She took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. She spoke slowly, really wishing she didn't have to say what she was about to say, "Gen, father has... a rather odd assignment for you. You are to... protect a vampire. He is a very connected person and the werewolves will do pretty much anything to kill him." The whole time Scarlett was speaking, her voice was low and soft.
She walked over to her sister, her eyes lowered to the floor. When she looked up at Gen, tears had sprung in her eyes, but they would not fall, they never did. With ease, she blinked them away until her eyes were clear and a sad smile formed on her lips. She took a deep breath, calming herself again. She would usually remain calm unless her sister was in direct danger, but this was a special circumstance, because otherwise, she thought she might cry, something she hates with a passion.

"There is no mistake here, my Dear." he began calmly, readily dealing with the reaction he expected. "Keep your eyes on whoever you are speaking to and don't sulk. You know I find the action to be rather unbecoming and disgraceful."
Uncrossing his legs and bringing himself to a stand, he wandered to a nearby window and looked outside of it.
"In any case, you don't really have much of a choice now. The target is less than 15 miles away and approaching fast as we speak." Turning to his daughters, Meimu offered them a chesire grin. "It seems our company will be arriving sooner than expected. Prepare yourselves, darlings. We wouldn't want to come off as rude hosts now would we?" With that, he would leave no more room for defiance or argument. He left the room and called upon some servants to inform them of their tasks.

"Hmhmm... You look quite boring. Let's hope you prove to be as useful as you were made out to be," he said bluntly to Ayase, tilting his head slightly.
Sensing Scarlett's disdain towards him at that moment, he shot her a sweet smile that stated 'You are free to try but don't be surprised when you face the consequences.' He had a pretty good idea on what she felt like doing towards the young vampire in the room. She may have been his daughter, but Meimu would not hesitate to eliminate her should she go against his orders. This young man was way too important to the hunter clan and Meimu would be incredibly upset should something happen to him. Using his index and middle finger to push his glasses back up on the bridge of his nose, the silver-haired man turned his attention towards Gen. "Be more gentle with him next time. Men can be delicate creatures too!" he said in a pseudo-hurt tone, clearly testing his daughter for a reaction. Meimu had his dumb moments even though he was highly respected. Being so successful made him enjoy the lighter side of things and always took the chance (when given) to joke around... Even if the jokes were corny or flat out stupid in nature. It gave rise to people underestimating him.... Something he enjoyed immensely.
"Anyhow... You are wasting time. You two should leave now. Unless you have any questions of course..." Meimu trailed off as he waited patiently. Gen could be quite the vocal creature when upset and he had heard her little tirade towards Ayase before they came to see him. Though he was not quite pleased with those actions in particular, it made him somewhat proud. At least he would not have to worry about her being pushed around. It was all about testing her now... Hopefully things went according to plan.
