Race: Human
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 210 lbs.
Appearance: Alexander is a charmingly handsome man with chestnut brown hair and sharp facial features. His muscles are well-toned from a long career in the Xeraph Dragoons. His skin is slightly sun-kissed, owing to the use of his tanning bed. His eyes are a deep blue, and his teeth a brightened white. Personality

Alexander is a charming personality, bearing a silver tongue. He is good-hearted and charismatic, and is always willing to do anything for the good of those he cares about or is in charge of. As much a father figure to the younger Dragoons as he is their commanding officer, Alexander is also quite insightful and willing to part words of advice and wisdom whenever he can spare them. Despite his good nature, he is a stern disciplinarian, and does not take irresponsibility lightly. Good-humored and light-hearted, Alexander makes himself a good friend and mentor, and his charm makes him somewhat of a ladies' man. Behind that charm however is a dark need for vengeance against the Manasphere demons. That thirst for satisfaction has steeled him to become the best soldier he could be. In combat, Alexander is calm and tactful, able to organize his men to effectively retaliate against enemy attacks.

Abilities & Equipment

Dragoon Training - Alexander's time in the Dragoons have distilled in him great piloting prowess. He can pilot any vessel in the Xeraph fleet. Additionally, his service has instilled in him great tactical prowess, allowing him to assess a combat scenario and formulate a winning strategy.

Omisace Pulse Pistol x2 - Standard issue sidearm for the Xeraph military.

Interstellar Traversing Vessel Stalwart Valor - As Master Lancer of the Xeraph Dragoons, Steele helms the massive Warhorse-class ITV Stalwart Valor. It boasts supreme firepower, and serves as the flagship for the entire Xeraph fleet.

History

Alexander Steele grew up on the planet Salacar, a human colony of farmers and merchants. He was a good kid, charming and polite. He went through life, growing to become a handsome young man. His father had been the owner of a mercantile industry, which Alexander was destined to inherit at the age of eighteen. However, the boy's future would take a hard detour after his home world was decimated by Manasphere demons. Taking away from him all he'd known, Alexander was left lost, swearing revenge against the demons. When the Union arrived to combat the creatures, Alexander left with them, enlisting with the armed forces, becoming a Dragoon.

He showed great dedication, focusing on the tragic loss he had suffered as motivation. As the years passed, he excelled as a serviceman, and had learned how to deal with the turmoil of his loss. He was a favorite among officers for his discipline and charm; his ability to bond with the others was a very noble trait indeed. Climbing the ranks into becoming an officer, he distinguished himself in a grand naval battle against a group of Belkottan terrorists, earning him a Commendation of Valor from the Union council, where he formally met and began a somewhat romantic relationship with councilwoman Elestas vin Agra.

As Master Lancer of the Dragoons, Alexander is a steadfastly dedicated soldier, inspiring and active in his campaign for revenge, hoping to one day eliminate all traces of the Manasphere demons, and ensure that no one ever had to lose their lives -or their livelihood- to the monsters ever again.

So begins...

The news was disturbing to say the least. His pulse quickened, and a horde of confused thoughts encroached on his mind.

"Who are you?" he asked, quickly and silently. It was enough that he was making himself uneasy, but in light of this news, he wasn't so sure of his safety anymore. From the HUD of his helmet, he examined the vital signs of his men aboard the vessel with him.

All seemed fine on their end; no one was unaccounted for or otherwise showing abnormal readings. "Who are you, and how do I know I can trust you?" he asked the voice on the other end.

"Someone who might end up saving your life, and someone you might end up returning the favor for," replied the voice. One could almost get the sense that she was smiling on the other end.

"In other words, you can just call me a friend. You'll just have to take a chance on whether or not to trust me from here."

There was a yell in the back, and an alarm. The woman cleared her throat. "Another time, stranger. If you're still alive."

The voice faded out, the static grew, and then there was silence.

______

"Master Lancer?" called Naluma from the front, walking toward him. "Everything alright? How are you holding up?"

"Wait a minute-" he was cut off. His anonymous "friend" was gone now. He thought about trying to call back, but he found there was no source frequency in his history. "Strange," he said aloud. It was then that things started to spiral downward, and fast.

The alarms were very disconcerting, as was the noise emanating from the back. Alexander turned to move towards the sounds of screaming, but he was called by Naluma.

"Master Lancer? "Everything alright? How are you holding up?" she asked. Alexander was beginning to lose his calm. He was already wary of the woman's suspicious nature, and his recent chat with the anonymous woman brought up a whole slew of new questions.

"What's going on?" Alexander replied.

Naluma blinked, then bit her lip. "I was just up at the front speaking to the captain. We're caught in a strong current, so our trip will take a bit longer." She couldn't help but come closer to inquire.

"Why? Is something wrong?"

A stewardess came through one of the doors from the last cart, closing it tightly behind her. She was a dainty little thing, with a head of short white hair, sharp eyes, and pouty lips, like a doll's.

The door clicked behind her. Something it hadn't done before.

"Would you all like refreshments?" she asked, holding out a tray with one hand, the other behind her back.

Now Alexander was sure things were going awry. "I heard-" he paused, thinking about what he was going to do if he let on to his suspicions; or what Naluma would do for that matter. "Nothing," he said, "Everything's fine." He was glad his pistols were on his person, in case he needed to use them.

It was just then that another figure came into their quarters. "Would you all like refreshments?" she asked, holding out a tray of drinks and foods. Alexander knew better than to accept anything at this point, and kindly refused. He made note of the fact that her other hand was concealed behind her. He made sure to watch the stewardess closely.

"Is this current going to be a problem, Miss Saree?" he asked calmly.

Naluma lifted her chin, lips parted. One of her eyebrows raised.

In a nod, she gave him a smile. "Alright, then, Master Lancer. The current shouldn't be too problematic. We're just-"

It happened almost too quickly for anyone to humanly follow what had happened. One moment, Naluma was speaking, relaxed, smiling.

And before they knew it, the stewardess had thrown a silver knife into her shoulder. At the same time, she had dropped her tray, and smoke filled the cabin.

It looked like she hadn't been serving them a snack after all.

Events unfolded rather swiftly, and ended with Naluma taking a knife to the shoulder. His pistols came out, pointed at both of the women, his right-hand pistol aimed at Naluma in response to his suspicions.

"Both of you freeze!" he shouted, guns trained on the "T" of their bodies, to reduce the chance of missing his shot. "What the hell's going on here?" he demanded. His trigger fingers were ready to execute the both of them at a moment's notice.

"I want an explanation and I want it now! Who are you --both of you-- and what in the hell is going on here?"

Before he would be able to get a shot out, the white-headed woman was hidden by the smoke. Naluma was hidden now, too, but one could still hear her pained gasps and whimpers.

A knife whizzed through the air toward Alexander, parting the smoke as it flew for the man's chest.

The hurtling knife served as no consequence to Alexander as he stood in its path. His personal shielding system activated and deflected the throwing weapon just before it could collide with his person. The shield dissipated and reverted to recharge mode, while Alexander began shooting into the smoke towards the would-be assassin.

"Naluma! Are you alright?" he shouted. Things were going to hell, and he had no idea which side of the gate to be on. He couldn't let his suspicions cloud his judgement, but at this point, all he could do was watch his own back and stay alive.

The bullets seemed to hit something, as there was a grunt somewhere in the smoke, but they didn't do as Alexander intended immediately. Another knife whistled through the cabin, this one to his shoulder, and another, for his leg. They weren't as accurately thrown as the last.

"... I... I'm... fine... get..." Naluma rose her hand, blood rolling down her wrist and arm, and her fingers lit aglow in a light. The smoke parted and fell to the ground as dust, revealing the assassin, on her knees with several bullet wounds in her body: one through her chest, one through her neck, and another in her arm.

She was trying to open the door, but she fell on her face, unconscious, after.

"Don't... kill her yet..."

The first knife missed entirely, clanging against the wall behind Alexander and falling limply to the ground. The second, however, managed to cut his leg, leaving it bleeding not too severely, but any wound was enough for concern. He aimed his pistols into the smoke, ready for any incoming attacks. Naluma sounded weak, but she was still able to talk, and to tell Alexander to hold his fire, which he did.

He waited for further activity, and further "orders". He wanted to check on his men. Their vitals weren't showing up in his HUD, and this new woman's appearance was quite disturbing, to say the least.

Naluma struggled to her feet, clasping her wound. She leaned against the wall and looked at Alexander.

"I didn't expect an attack down here. On this ship. I apologize. This isn't the normal greeting." She tried to give him a lighthearted grin, but her brow furrowed.

"That isn't a Supremacy soldier. Not one I recognize. Are you hurt? Are you alright?"
