He had arrived, though hidden behind his masked visage Bersiar knew that there was much potential to be found here. He was on a self-appointed quest to attain more power for himself.

Situated outside one of the many local bars, a stocky armored man stood with his arms crossed and a small grin on his face. He had been transported from his home and to this land...and all the better! He could get more done in this fuckin' place, the last one was a shithole just sinking further and further. Sure, he had people there he did care about, but...he'll go back for them. For now, he was savin' his own hide from boredom.

Noticing one person walking across the street, much different than the rest...Sigesar stood from leaning against one of the bar's walls, and took a couple steps forwards while calling out to Bersiar. "Oi. You there." His accent was horrible and aggressive - definitely Germanic, and his understanding of anything outside of his native tongue (Gothic) was questionable. Still, he continued. "You aren't pickin' pockets there are ya, sneak thief?...Or, are you on more important business?" Though his accent and demeanor were harsh, he wasn't accusatory and was merely inquiring. He finished things off by introducing himself. "The name is Sigesar."

He took a single glance at the man addressing him, his mask showed no emotions obviously but it was clear he was glaring behind it. "What is it you seek, or are you just wasting my time?" He spoke in such a callous tone, he did not have time nor did he seek small talk.

Sigesar examined the man for the time being, raising an eyebrow. "Wasting your time? Didn't know yours was so damn precious." He chuckled to himself, maintaining a grin while he stared. "People skilled in combat, espionage, and/or talking. Depends on the job. But, I'm offering 'cause I hear there's a merc guild 'round these parts. I was considering applying, and judging by your looks, you could make a good merc too.

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a slip of parchment with writing on it.

Seeking Members!

The Black Fang is looking for people to employ into their mercenary guild. Prior experience isn't required, but is recommended. Want to explore Morta IV and beyond? Want to take jobs far and wide? Sign up today. Main offices are stationed on Berngulch, Heion, and Dratvian.

Note: Explorers needed! Recent developments in dimensional gates have lead to the discovery of galaxies outside of our own. We need people to venture to and from these galaxies, as well as within our own. We need to discover what is outside of our galaxy, and discover new planets within our own home.

He took a single look at the parchment, he would be lying if he said he wasn't interested. "So this group of mercenaries, they travel around taking jobs doing gods know what for money?" He looked back at Sigesar with a look of implied uncertainty.

Sigesar chuckled, shaking his head to the man. "I suppose so? I mean, it beats no job and no money. B'sides, mercs get a lot more in terms of respect than your common bumpkin lookin' for work." Hefting his signature heavy mace onto his shoulder, he grinned wide and tilted his head. "I'm thinkin' of joinin'. I could use a partner in my work. So. You in? Good money, people to bash...can't beat that!"

Bersiar took one look at him, tilted his head some until the distinct sound his neck cracking could be heard. "I have little need for money, nor am I looking to earn any respect." He simply tapped the pommel of the sword currently sheathed on his right hip as if contemplating something. "My only concern at the given time is to attain power, no more no less."

Sigesar looked at the man's sword while he tapped it, raising an eyebrow at this. Power, huh? That's odd. Then again, more power means more control. Perhaps this guy was looking for some means of becoming a king or emperor or some shit? He shrugged and laughed a bit to himself. "Well! You're not gonna get it by sittin' around here are ya? Besides, take it from an experienced knight, one good way of getting power is to learn from those 'round you. These adventuring guilds tend to be a colorful bunch. Some are bright eyed recruits who get themselves fucked up by some measly kobolds, but others...the people who survive shit? They've seen some shit. And they are guaranteed to have power. Not sure if you're into that magic shit or what, but same principle. These people know shit, have shit, and pretty much breathe it."

He patted his mace with his other hand. "Besides. The places where you end up taking jobs, some of 'em might have riches y'know?Magical artifacts left behind by some poor fuck who couldn't fight worth a damn. All just up for the takin'."

"Those who fail to notice this are fools." He looked at the mace this time as he spoke. "Magic is not to be trifled with, even if it is a great source of power." He took note of his body language and he noticed he did look experienced. He took another look at the man and crossed his arms. "So if I join this guild or whatever, I can earn some "shiny" new sword or a new spell?"

Sigesar nodded in response, maintaining his cocky and uncaring grin. "Yeah, I suppose so. Who knows, you might have other things you didn't know you were looking for, but you come across. Shit happens like that." With a nod, he looked back down to the recruitment paper for the Black Fang, and nodded. "Well, if you want to join, I'm going to head to the inn they're supposedly recruiting at. Follow me if you want to come along." With that Sigesar turned and began to walk off, glancing over his shoulder to check if the other man was following.

He weighed his options and figured that this would be the best option given his goal. With that he nodded and followed right behind. "Just be aware that I don't take too kindly to being ordered around."

Stalking the group nearby, Bersiar had cloaked himself and enchanted his boots so his footfalls were utterly silent. Behind the invisibility he wore enchanted robed and hood along with a wooden mask with a transfixed face that looked like an expression of dread. He kept a close eye out for potential loot for himself, he might even find himself a spellbook to gain even more power.

Though it was not obvious, behind the mask he wore he had an expression of focus and utter contempt for the group he sees before him.

The Sentient C.O.R.e or S.C.O.R.e told a half division that "If they found a merc, hire them and promise them good loot and sharings (As the C.O.R.e, nor the S.C.O.R.e would not really need to lie anyway) Promise them, ancient knowledge if they are... That type.. Promise them weopens or tech if they want it. We need more help... And Redux knows how much of a annoyence we can't just bring a Angel decender and just annex this city. And one more thing, promise them food and infinite life if they are good enough."

He heard tell of the loot that the C.O.R.e were talking about and he moved closer to the location. He kept his swords close by incase he needed to fight. The talk of ancient knowledge and weapons was simply very tempting to him but it could be a trap, he bided his time in the shadows.

The two girls stared frightened at the machine men. "What do we do, sis?!" Janith whispered.
"We do the one thing we can do," Myrdria said. "We run."
"But- but this is our home!"
"Yeah, well they live in it now. If they catch us, who knows what sort of things they'll do to us? We have no choice. Maybe we can get help somewhere else."
"Where?! Where?!"
"I don't know! Somewhere! But we need to leave. You've got all your stuff in that bag of yours right?"
"Uh huh. Just like you always said; 'bring all your stuff with you so nobody can take it from you later.'"
"That bag is our home. It has our food, water and gold. Everything we'd need out in the Big World, wherever that is."
"But sis! We've never been out of the ruins in our life! Where are we gonna go?!"
"Pick a direction, and start travelling."
Janith looked around, tears starting to form in her eyes. She didn't want to leave this place. She liked it. It was familiar. The Big World, she didn't know shit about. But they had no choice.
I promise I'll come back, she thought. I promise on all my gold. I do.
"Let's go... west."
"Alright," Myrdria said. "Let's go."
The girls ran.

C.O.R.e could easily hear the running and the hard panting of the girls. On a intersection of a alley way that the girls were running in the C.O.R.e blocked them off. 2 in front, and 2 in the back. They grabbed the girls and dragged them back to the camp.

S.C.O.R.e took a long, and thoughtful stare at the girls before he said anything. "Bring them food. Scans idicate they are not fed properly and regularly." It continued to stare at them while the food was being prepared. "So. Are you spies of the Aschen Empire. I would have no doubts once so ever they are keeping tabs on us. They are fools. By Redux, even their Emperor has given up his posisition. He is either a lunitic, or a man with a plan. Also, what race are you humanoids? I will answer any of your questions if you answer mine."

As he said that C.O.R.e scientists pulled out a heavy cache of most certainly powerful weopens and wealth, and loaded it into the ships. The weopens of the old were destructive enough to destroy entire systems. The C.O.R.e must hold these away from the Aschen or anyone who would use these to destroy or use these to take controll of the Multiverse. After all, there is a reason why they are dead S.C.O.R.e thought to itself. They couldn't do it before, with people more power hungry then ever, I doubt they could do it now. The C.O.R.e had billions if not trillions of years of knowledge.

Janith and Myrdria were caught by the strange machine men. The sisters struggled against their captors, but could not break free. Helpless, they were towed away to a taller robot. He asked them a few questions.
Janith answered the one about if they were spies for some place called the Aschen Empire. "What? I don't know what you're talking about! I've never been out of this place in my life! How would you expect me to know about some big empire?" She and her sister just stood in confusion as the interrogator began a long rant about the empire.
Myrdria answered the one about their race in a dry tone. "We're half-elves. Any old fool would know that. You guys aren't from around here, are you?" Myrdria was suspicious of these creatures, but she followed along, especially since they'd be getting food from them.

The S.C.O.R.e looked closer at the girl. "First thing, we are not 'Guys'. We have no gender. We are simply, 'it'. We are C.O.R.e. . And second thing, we have been all around the Multiverse. Nearly every planet, stream, lake, or ocean has been seen and touched by us. We have seen many beings with ears like yours. And besides, you are no pure bred elf. You are a mix of.... Humans?"

The S.C.O.R.e thought to himself, these girls are of use to use since we have no minurature gear or robot... I can see why though. They would not want us fighting them gurilla style in a large aboanded city with small, tactical robots....

Not but a second later dinner was served S.C.O.R.e. started "Enjoy the meal"

"Yeah, we just said that," Myrdria said. "Half-elves. Notice the half."
In any case, they were given a meal. It was very delicious. Myrdria gobbled it up - she was very hungry. Janith, however, just poked it around.
"What's wrong, sister?" Myrdria asked.
"Nothing... just... why are they here? I just want to live at home in peace. How can they just intrude on our happiness like this?" Janith asked.
Myrdria looked sad. "I don't know, but I have the feeling they're going to be here for a long time."

Without a moments hesitation Bersiar had slipped into the ships containing the cache. This was a gold mine for him but he had to be discreet to get away with it intact. He could always just fight off whoever came after him but for now he continued to bide his time, little did he know that his invisibility spell was beginning to wear off.
