Ex-General Walker

That's General Walker to you, boy.

0 · 450 views · located in Wing City Gardens (South)

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Patcharoo, as played by Kidafire

Description

Ex-General Walker is a very sober and serious man who's focus is on one thing, results. He does not like to be kept waiting, he does not like excuses. He demands only the best and the finest. He comes from Texas and boasts the biggest, best ship. He refuses to talk on his past history on why he is known as; Ex-General Walker. He does not help the undeserving, he does not pity the needy and he does not bend in the face of death. He is a good man and if you serve him well, he will lead you to victory.

Walker sighed as he slipped into a seat and opened the paper to read. "That's one thing I miss about Terra. Good coffee." The crew member hurried off with her order. "See here?" Walker added, leaning over and pointing to an article in the paper. It was about an attempted robbery of a stone tablet. "Someone tried to steal our stone tablet. That could be priceless. Archeological find of the century. We're lucky their attempt was foiled on the scene of the crime."

Satisfied with his showing off, he flipped to the puzzle section, grasping a pen from the table.

"Relax, Miss Johnson. I'm sure work will understand if you're late to your shift. This is a legal matter. Just say you were being interviewed by the police. We can even provide you a written form excusing you, if need be." It wasn't technically a legal form, but that was just a technicality. "Help me with a puzzle, could you? I'm seven for seven with this new puzzle writer for the newspaper. They go by the name 'Sucks', and they write word to letter puzzles."

"You take the words listed and try to find what letters and numbers they are meant to represent." He placed the paper down before her. "Look."

On the page was 'Sucks: YouForceHeavenToBeEmpty'.

"Did you say 'to be you'. As in two, the number and 'B' and 'U' the letters?" he asked, eyes narrowing. "This is more serious than we thought. No Miss Johnson, this is not the joke of mine, but the joke of another..." He tapped at the paper impatiently as he thought. "A disgruntled and discarded, albeit brilliant employee of ours. It looks as though she knew I couldn't resist a good puzzle. But what's her game..."

"Uh-general?" Walker turned his head to glare at the man who had approached. Sudden panic was breaking out across the deck. "What is going on?" he demanded, standing and slapping his pen down.

"We're being hacked sir."

"Then shut off their IP's! Block the signal!"

"...Sir that's not how it works. No signal can reach us here. It has to be on board the ship."

The general rubbed at his eyes, then let out a sigh. "Escort Miss Johnson to a safe location and prepare groups for searching in threes. Tell them we're looking for a young woman in her twenties with red hair, armed and highly dangerous."

"Can someone get her out of here?" Walker asked, gesturing for one of his security personnel. Worryingly, they were all starting to reach for rifles on hidden racks. The man walked over a placed a hand on Valeria's shoulder. "Miss, it's probably best if you come with me to the living quaters for now."

"What informationa re they after?" demanded the General, "I want Nicole to lock it down. Try to find where they're accessing our network from."

"Looks like a wireless device of some sort, sir. They can't be far."

The soldier shook his head, stepping towards the door. "I would highly recommend you stay in here, Miss. We're on orders to uh, not take prisoners. I can't stay around to watch you, so please just... Sit tight." The automatic door closed behind him and he headed off down the corridor. For a moment there was eerie silence, suddenly penetrated by Valeria's phone ringing.

And unless Orion had recently installed a mobile phone tower with singal power to reach Terra, it was probably a local call.

Walker looked as dry and sober as ever, staring straight forward with his eyes slightly narrowed, in his usual fancy uniform and badges, with his usual honourary sword hanging from his side and his usual standard issue firearm. But he didn't look ready to fight. Those days were long since gone. Now he was old. Retired. He just wanted to relax. Profit. Not likely, though.

He flipped a page of the files in front of him. "So... Adam told me of the plan to send a bartender to do a spies job."

Walker tilted his head. "What is it?" he asked, leaning back in his seat, taking the pen in his hand with him to tap on his thigh.

Walker folded his arms in thought, pen tapping his chin. "Hm... And based off how strong you've described him in the past it sounds like he would be able to make an army of that size. In which case finding out where he is stands as our highest priority. And we have to hope he doesn't know how to program machines. Does he have any knowledge in the field of engineering or programming?"

"We believe he is working with a woman known as Katie Sparks who up until recently was working for the newspaper writing logic puzzles." He grew tight lipped. "She could be doing that work. And from what our sources tell us, she has contacted others. We can use her contacts against her. However... None of the people you have met in Orion are particularly... Useful in terms of this sort of operation."

"Yes. She's a woman who recently I thought was being framed by Katie Sparks, but it turned out the two were working together. Valuable information was stolen. However, she knows she will have our ire. Normally I do not approve of such underhanded tactics, but I think its neccesary for us to take a proactive approach. Don't you agree?"

"Miss Larie, I think you'll find you want this as much as anyone. You want to stop Ezrael, don't you? If you do, you'll find you are the best for this job."

"Her name is Valeria Johnson," he said, opening up the file for her to see, "She is nothing out of the ordinary, so I doubt she'll like the pressure of being charged with assisting an individual in illegally acquiring our files. All you have to do is give her some legal papers and tell her they'll disappear if she just keeps an eye on what Katie Sparks is up to. That will lead us to Ez.

"Well, I think it would be best if you remained in contact with her. My personal judgement was clearly wrong when dealing with this woman last time."

"I wanted to see this for myself," Walker said, arms folded as the three of them, he, Avia and Zee, descended on the elevator deep underground to Ezrael's holding chamber. The cell in question was in the middle of what appeared to be a bottomless pit, with walls of plastic and with Ezrael chained up inside.

"And maybe we can finally get some answers from him."

As they reached the same floor as the cell a platform extended across the black abyss towards his prison.

Walker stepped out towards the central chamber, arms still folded. "So, you're Ezrael," he spoke with his southern drawl, "Whut did you think you could achieve by approaching our two most powerful individuals?" He turned his head towards Avia, then nodded for Ezrael. "Go do your mind thing until he talks." Walker seemed to think she held some sort of... Mind powers.

"Miss Larie, if you managed to make a connection with his mind once I am sure you can do it again. If nothing else, trying will cause no harm." The door to Ezrael's chamber was opened for her to step inside. "We're right here. We already know Zee can overpower him."
